Chapter 270 – Sharing Together
After the department store and brief tour of Union City, Frank, Abigail and Becky returned to the hotel.
"If Elizabeth Rose is still laying down." Abigail said. "Please don't wake her."
"I won't." Becky said. "I can read in my room or work on something in the sitting room. My legs are starting to hurt so I plan to just take it easy."
"Alright." Abigail said. "We will be in our room. You can call us if you need."
"I won't bother you." Becky said. "You deserve some alone time like any other newly married couple."
Frank and Abigail both blushed, but Becky didn't notice from the back seat. She was just happy that she had a mother and father again. She knew about mom and dad 'alone time' so she was going to do what she could to help them have it. She didn't fully understand, but she understood enough to know that it was something that married couples needed. Becky sat back in the car and watched as the city went by on their way back to the hotel.
When they got to the hotel, Frank and Abigail walked Becky up to the suite. She gave them each a hug, said to have fun and she would see them in the morning. Becky used the key that Elizabeth Rose had given her and went inside. Frank and Abigail made their way to their own suite. Frank shut the door, turned and looked at his wife. That thought still took his breath away.
"We have a few hours alone before supper." Abigail said. "I say we make the most of our time. Don't know when we will get much alone time when we get back home."
"I wholeheartedly agree, Mrs Hogan." Frank said.
-(Steam Alert 1 paragraph)...
Frank cupped Abigail's cheek and kissed her. Soon enough there was a trail of clothing leading to the bedroom. Frank spent the next two hours thoroughly loving his wife. Frank was so happy he was able to show Abigail how much he loved her. He still remembered when he thought it would never be possible. He smiled over at his wife and thought how much difference the right woman made. Frank said a quick prayer for Dee, that he would get to experience things with Annie. After a moment of prayer, Frank focused on his wife again.
Abigail smiled back and then rolled on her stomach to look at her new husband. She reached up and ran her fingers through his hair. She loved to play with his hair. She hadn't thought about it before, but she had loved to play with Noah's hair as well, but he had always kept it so short. She liked that Frank left it a bit longer.
"Thank you." Abigail said.
"You are more than welcome." Frank said. "I enjoyed myself as well."
"I mean for more than the last couple of hours." Abigail said. "Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for accepting me even with a past. Thank you for giving me back a part of my life I thought was gone. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for supporting me when I felt alone."
Frank rolled up on his side and looked at Abigail. She looked at him and almost got lost in his hazel eyes.
"I could say the same thing." Frank said. "You accepted me and gave me back something I long thought was lost. You showed me what true faith in God looks like in action."
"What color were your mother's eyes?" Abigail asked.
"Brown." Frank said. "But my grandfather had green eyes. My father had bright blue eyes or at least that was what I was told. Why?"
"Nothing." Abigail said. "We just both have hazel eyes, but yours tend to be more blue to green where I know mine tend to look more brown, except in direct light. It just struck me as odd."
"What color were Noah's eyes?" Frank asked.
"Very dark brown." Abigail said. "Peter was the same way. He had brown eyes, with a fleck of gold. Peter's eyes were also much more expressive than Noah's. Maybe it was because he hadn't been weighted down by life yet, but still."
"Well." Frank said. "I love your eyes. I can look into your eyes and almost know your exact mood. When you are upset, they are darker. When you are happy, they look almost more green. When you looked at me while we were making love, they had a more amber tone to them. I had never seen that before with you and I am kind of glad that I am the only one who gets to see that. I hope to see that for years to come."
"I am glad about that, too." Abigail said. "I hope you get to see it for years as well."
"We should probably get up and get dressed." Frank said.
"Why?" Abigail said. "Elizabeth Rose said she would keep the kids tonight. We deserve a bit of a honeymoon. We have only been married for twenty-four hours, give or take."
Abigail then reached out and ran her fingers through Frank's hair again.
"You up for more?" Abigail asked.
"Definitely." Frank said, rolling Abigail on her back.
They teased and tormented each other for the next half hour riding wave after wave of pleasure. They fell back into the bed both physically spent for their love making. They couldn't have been happier, but they needed to take a break. Once Frank was able to catch his breath a bit, he looked over at Abigail.
"How about some supper here and then a bath later?" Frank asked.
"As long as you don't expect me to move for a little bit." Abigail said, with a huge smile.
"You just rest." Frank said. "I will take care of things."
"Thank you." Abigail said.
Slowly Frank got up, pulled on his henley and found pajama pants. He then made sure all of their clothes were picked up and out of the sitting room. Finally, he sat at the desk. He ordered them some room service then bowed his head to pray.
Frank thanked God for once again sparing his life and helping him to fulfill the promise he had made. He thanked God for bringing him to Hope Valley and for leading him to Abigail. Frank first gave thanks for his new family, then asked for patience and understanding for them all as they adjust to more changes all living together. He prayed for the safety of Hope Valley and wisdom to lead them. He prayed for DeWitt and Mary, that they would have a healthy baby soon. He prayed for Jack and Elizabeth and the safety of their growing family. Frank prayed for Elizabeth Rose that she would feel better. He prayed for her and Wynn, that they would have many happy years ahead of them. Frank prayed for him and Abigail. He prayed they would find time together and find a routine that allowed for family time. Finally, Frank prayed for God to pour out His blessings on Hope Valley.
Wynn and Cody returned to the hotel.
"Cody." Wynn said. "I believe that you have homework to finish. I have some paperwork I need to go over. We are not going to bother your parents tonight and if Elizabeth is still laying down, we will leave her alone."
"Okay." Cody said. "Why can't I go with Mom and Dad?"
"They just need some time alone." Wynn said.
Wynn didn't want to have to explain anything else to a ten year old, but hoped that it was enough.
"Okay." Cody said. "Thank you for playing catch with me. What are we going to do tomorrow?"
"You are welcome." Wynn said. "I am not sure. I think it will depend on how Elizabeth feels and what Dee has to say when he gets back later. I was thinking if all else fails, I might be able to take you to the park again."
"Okay." Cody said.
When they got to the hotel, Cody and Wynn went up. He tried the door and it was unlocked. When they walked in, Becky was sitting with her feet up reading.
"Everything okay?" Wynn asked.
"Yes." Becky said. "Mom and Dad are in their room. They wanted to be alone. Aunt Elizabeth is still laying down. It looks like she had some more tea. I checked on her and she was sleeping with a hot water bottle. I am sure it is cold by now, but I didn't want to bother her."
"Can you call down and see if they can send a carafe of hot water up so I can refill it?" Wynn said. "I am going to go check on her then come back and work on some paperwork."
"Okay." Becky said.
Wynn went to check on his wife. He found her still asleep. He wasn't sure the last time she had slept the better part of the afternoon away. He went over and leaned down to kiss her forehead. She didn't have a fever, so that was good. He took a seat on the bed and she opened her eyes.
"I am sorry." Wynn said. "I didn't mean to wake you."
"It is okay." Elizabeth Rose said. "I was awake, I was just comfortable so I didn't want to move."
"Are you feeling better?" Wynn asked.
"Yes." Elizabeth Rose said. "I think the aspirin and hot water bottle helped."
"I had Becky call down to get a carafe of hot water." Wynn said. "At least we can refill the hot water bottle."
"Thank you." Elizabeth Rose said.
"Do you want me to call the doctor?" Wynn asked.
"No." Elizabeth Rose said. "There is nothing he can do. I just need some time. I haven't had cramps like this in a long time. I promise if I don't feel better in the morning I will let you call. I just know that it is my monthly."
"Okay." Wynn said. "What do you want to do for supper?"
"I am not that hungry." Elizabeth Rose said. "Maybe take the kids somewhere. I told Frank and Abigail that they could have tonight also."
"Becky said something about that." Wynn said. "I was thinking of just going down to the restaurant downstairs. Maybe I can order you some room services. I was going to see what Dee had to say when he got back."
"What happened?" Elizabeth Rose asked.
"Frank and Abigail might have uncovered a shop of stolen goods." Wynn said. "Frank was sure that they found Becky's mother's ring in the shop where they got their wedding bands. Captain Anderson wanted Dee along when they raided the shop. From my understanding, Dee has been there most of the day going over inventory. I know that they have found a number of pieces that were listed as stolen. But it sounds like the man's son-in-law is the one at fault."
"I hope that Dee is able to return the ring to Becky." Elizabeth Rose said. "I know how much that would mean to her. What did you and Cody do this afternoon?"
"We were at headquarters where I got some paperwork." Wynn said. "Then I took him to the park. We borrowed a couple of gloves from the guys at the station and played catch and then he played with another little boy there. When I was playing with Cody, I realized how much I missed out on when our kids were growing up. I also thought maybe a boy and a girl between the ages of ten and thirteen for us to adopt."
"Sounds perfect." Elizabeth Rose said with a smile.
"I will leave you to rest." Wynn said. "The kids are doing homework. I am going to go over some paperwork. Also, I don't need to stay in Regina. I will just pick up some paperwork to take back. I still might need a night in Fort Garry, but we won't know until we get to Regina."
"Thank you." Elizabeth Rose said.
Wynn leaned down and gave his wife a kiss.
"I will bring the hot water when it gets here." Wynn said.
Then he got up and went to the other room, pulling the bedroom doors shut again. He was going to let his wife rest as much as possible.
"Is she feeling better?" Becky asked.
"Yes." Wynn said. "She still doesn't want to move and that is fine."
"I understand." Becky said, making a face.
Wynn just nodded. He remembered when Sophie used to get really bad cramps and not want to do anything for a couple of days.
Frank had finished praying and was just sitting in the quiet. Not that he expected God to speak to him, but there were times when Frank felt God's presence more in the quiet after he prayed. Frank's thoughts were interrupted by the knock on the door. He quickly got up, knowing it was their food. He took the cart, thanked the steward and shut the door again.
Abigail came out into the sitting room. Frank had to double take because all Abigail was wearing was Frank's blue button up from earlier. She had only done up the two buttons right at her breast. As she walked, Frank was pretty sure she was wearing a pair of white lace panties, but still. He had to blink and swallow hard a few times because just the sight of his wife was driving him to the point of distraction. Frank closed his eyes and let out a harsh breath. He needed to focus and not look at his wife for a moment.
"Smells good." Abigail said. "Let's eat. I am famished."
"Yes." Frank said, his voice rough with emotion.
They sat, offered a prayer and then ate. They talked a bit about the day and what the plans were for the rest of the weekend. Abigail chatted seemingly oblivious to the effect she was having on her husband sitting there in just his shirt and a pair of lace panties.
Abigail might have been forty, but she was still fit and trim. Yes, her body had changed over the years. She might have had a few stretch marks, but with Frank she felt like a teenager again. Abigail was proud that she was still quite fit. She liked that she could turn heads. She knew that she could, but she didn't let it go to her head. Besides, the only head she wanted to turn for the rest of her days was that of her husband. She knew that she would have to continue to take care of herself because she wanted many years with her new husband.
"Thank you for ordering supper." Abigail said. "As much as I love to cook, it is nice to not have to once and a while. It was even better when I got to rest."
"You are welcome." Frank said. "But if I keep eating like this, I am going to have to start chopping wood with some of the other guys."
"You look amazing." Abigail said. "But I wouldn't mind the split wood. We will certainly go through it this winter with the expanded dining room."
Frank blushed a bit. He knew he was quite fit, especially for a man of almost forty-five who didn't necessarily have a very demanding job. He knew he was lucky for a man of his age. He had an amazing younger wife who looked amazing. They were adopting two wonderful children and both had jobs where they could help other people.
They finished eating and Abigail stood up. She moved over to her husband's side. She ran her finger up his arm and whispered in his ear that she was going to go take a bath. Abigail turned and walked away. It only took Frank a heartbeat to jump up and follow his wife. They spent the rest of the evening loving each other. The long bath did little to cool the fire and passion between them.
