Summary: Part of Sarah Jane is always waiting for the Doctor to return.

Sarah Jane Smith had always known that one day her travels with the Doctor would end, she just hadn't expected it so soon. Still, she wasn't a child to mope over being abandoned by her friend, she was a grown woman, fully aware that nothing lasted forever. She had a life to get back to, and she got on with it.

But old habits proved hard to break, and whenever she caught a glimpse of a long, colourful scarf in a crowd, her heart would always skip a few beats.

It was never the Doctor, but someday it might be.
