Soon, though not quite soon enough for Captain Fanzone, the Autobots arrived where the dinobots were destroying things in their misguided quest to destroy the Autobot "cars" thanks to Megatron's directions and manipulations. Optimus and the others were forced to dodge a fiery blast as they approached the scene. This was so not what they had expected to find.
The group dispersed in order to try and fight these bots better, but it seemed to be a losing proposition. Optimus was on his own fighting the T-Rex looking bot while Ratchet and bee fought one of the others and Bulkhead and Prowl faced the other. So far, the divide and conquer thing was failing. But just as the Autobots were wondering what to do, the mystery bot that they still hadn't figured things out about appeared out of seemingly nowhere, though it really was only because of his flash step ability that made him appear to arrive seemingly out of nowhere. Gone were the days of camouflage for the mystery bot.
Lancex surveyed the scene. So far, it didn't look very good. He had to decide to help. First, since Optimus seemed to be in the biggest trouble, Lancex headed over there. Optimus was a a bit thrown off his game at the appearance of the mystery bot, but was grateful for the help. Lancex drew out his weapon and called out "flame sword art form 11: vortex" and soon the bot was engulfed in a flame that didn't seem to burn the bot, though it did burn the cloak that covered his fairly bulky and strong for,. And with that, Lancex was able to help Optimus trap Grimlock in the nearby tar pit.
Once Grimlock was taken care of, Optimus and the mystery bot were able to help the others. With help, the rag tag maintenance bots caught all the dinobots that had seemingly gone wild. Optimus was pleased to see the dinobots be captured and hopefully be melted down by Sumdac, but Optimsu' attention was drawn elsewhere – to the mystery bot. But as Optimsu approached the mystery bot, catching the bot before he vanished. "Thank you for helping, but i must ask… who are you?" Optimus asked.
"I'm Lancex…" was all the bot said before he left. He wasn't ready yet to give up his complete freedom just yet, or so he thought. The others were stunned, as no one had head that name before. Optimus headed off, lots on his mind and figuring that the others would follow. He was almost right. Almsot.
Prowl, having heard what would happen to these dinobots, stayed back and talked Bulkhead into helping the ninja bot take these dinobots elsewhere. Bulkhead agreed to help after Prowl explained his reasons. Bulkhead could only hope no one found out the dinobots weren't destroyed but moved elsewhere. They had no idea the chaos that would soon ensue.
