Meanwhile, back in the grassy mountains, Sebastian Blood found himself surrounded by a pulsating blue aura. The lifeless bodies of Hyugas lay strewn around him, their chakra being absorbed into his very being. Hinata, barely clinging to life, lay on the ground, her eyes struggling to remain open.
Hinata's inner monologue echoed through her fading consciousness: "No… it cannot end like this." She fought against the darkness, clinging to her unfinished dreams, her family, and the memory of Naruto Uzumaki.
Suddenly, a mesmerizing green glow descended toward Hinata. She extended her trembling hand, drawn to its brilliance, almost as though she was in a trance-like state.
BOOM!
The hill erupted in a blinding flash of emerald light. Sebastian and his followers were thrown off balance. As the dust settled, they beheld an astonishing sight: Hinata, fully healed, floated above them, clad in a dark green and black costume. Her eyes glowed bright green with newfound power.
Sebastian's incredulous voice broke the silence: "You have GOT to be kidding me!"
The odds of this transformation were astronomical, even in their fantastical world. Hinata, on the brink of death, had become something more—a Green Lantern!
Their eyes locked in a fierce staredown. Sebastian scoffed, "How does it feel, getting a random power-up? Do you think it changes anything?"
Hinata remained silent, she has nothing more to say to him.
Sebastian motioned to his men, blades drawn. "Pledge your allegiance to the savior, and I'll help you retrieve your family."
Hinata's icy response cut through the tension: "NEVER."
The look of shock appears on Sebastian's face. He knows very little about the Green Lanterns, but is completely unaware that one of the many things the ring can do is bridge language barriers just like the bracelet Robin gave to Naruto.
Hinata's ring materialized a giant shuriken, spinning violently like a blender as she slices the surrounding men in half as though they were a pile of cold cuts! She hurled it at Sebastian, who deftly evaded. Undeterred, she conjured three more, launching them skyward.
Sebastian teleported, narrowly avoiding the third shuriken.
Hinata activated her Byakugan, scanning her surroundings. But as soon as she turns her head left, she's met with a spinning back-fist, which knocks her a good 14 feet away, crashing into a boulder.
Sebastian chuckles, he is fully confident in winning this battle due to Hinata being freshly new to having such power, thus lacking the experience and creativity. Sebastian then began taunting her: "Show me something more CREATIVE! Use your IMAGINATION!"
Hinata accepted the challenge, her willpower surging.
"LION… FIST!"
An energy blast shot upward, colliding with Sebastian's red energy blast.
The mountains trembled as their clash intensified.
The beam struggle between Hinata and Sebastian raged on, energy crackling between them. But Hinata's determination prevailed; she unleashed a final surge of power, blasting Sebastian backward.
Stunned and battered, Sebastian lay sprawled on the rocky hillside. Hinata, moving at lightspeed, closed the distance. Her legs wrapped around him, hands ablaze with green flames.
"JADE LION FISTS!"
Her gentle fists pummeled Sebastian's face, dislodging armor and helmet fragments. She released him, sending him hurtling down to the ravaged terrain below, where a crater marked his impact.
Sebastian struggled to move, desperation etched on his face. From his pocket, he produced a red, glowing jewel.
"No… Not yet…" he muttered, hesitating.
Meanwhile, Hinata focused her willpower, shaping a colossal construct—a spinning top.
One of Sebastian's armored men who is...SOMEHOW still alive pointed up shouted, "IT'S BEY-BLADE!"
Hinata is satisfied with the spin top's speed, wanting it to really hurt and kill Sebastian. But suddenly, a fiery tornado disrupted her concentration. The Lantern crashed violently near a river, but thankfully her protective green aura shielded her from potential injuries.
An off-screen voice broke the silence: "YO, it's been awhile, Hinata! Nice makeover."
Hinata turned, eyes widening. A black-haired teen with glowing orange eyes sat atop a massive black-and-orange dog—the unmistakable Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru!
"K-Kiba…" Hinata stammered.
Another voice emerged: "I always knew you had potential, too bad you're fighting on the wrong side." Shino Aburame, clad in armor, walked down the hill.
"Shino?" Hinata's confusion deepened.
"Exactly my thoughts, she always was my favorite, simply because I believed she could surpass me."
Yet another voice, chilling and familiar, echoed from above. A red-eyed woman descended, carrying the injured Sebastian. It was Kurenai Yuhi, Hinata's former sensei.
"K-Kurenai Sensei…" Hinata's voice trembled.
Sebastian seized the moment: "The offer is still on the table… What do ya' say, kiddo?" "WHADYA' SHAY!?"
You'll have a place our new world that will fulfill all your wants and needs" "And not just yours, but all of us..."
Sebastian assures as he leans Kurenai and slowly licks her cheek, that latter of whom enjoys it in sweet delight. Disgusted by the sight of seeing her sensei being degraded infuriates Hinata, fearing for what other horrors Sebastian may have done to her.
Kurenai interjected softly: "Hinata… I understand you're scared, but PLEASE listen…Sebastian has given us a new purpose. We can be free from war and order."
Hinata's resolve wavered. She raised her ring, firing a warning shot.
"STAY AWAY!"
Kurenai continued: "Isn't this what you dreamed of for your clan? To break free from the nonsensical segregation between the main house and the branch house?"
"It's what Neji would've wanted."
Hinata's mind raced. Neji's memory haunted her.
Hinata's trembling hand wiped away tears and a runny nose. Her green aura waned as fear gripped her.
"Do it," Sebastian's stern voice commanded.
Kurenai nodded, weaving intricate hand signs, casting an unknown genjutsu.
"Okay… I accept," Hinata whispered.
"HELL YEAH!" Kiba cheered.
Sebastian's attention shifted: "You won't regret it. Now let's get—"
"I wasn't talking to YOU…" Hinata's voice cut through the tension.
The ring on her finger spoke: "There may be momentary discomfort. Please remain still during our destination."
Hinata's green aura surged, propelling her skyward like a rocket. She vanished from view, hurtling into outer space.
Sebastian seethed, realizing he'd lost another pawn. His future plans are slowly starting to leave more holes, especially after losing Naruto.
"Mother is NOT gonna be happy…" he muttered.
Kiba smirked: "I don't see why; we scared her off like the little coward she's always been, right Akamaru!?"
"Kiba… SHUT UP." Akamaru said sternly and turns to Sebastian.
"What shall we do now, Master?" Asked the talking dog.
"Pray she won't return with an army anytime soon." Sebastian says as he looks deep into the stars.
The Next Day…
The day has finally come as Batman slowly makes his way to Jump City in the batwing.
Naruto, now clad in Superboy's attire, joined the Teen Titans on a rooftop. Batman descended in his batwing.
But the figure that emerged wasn't what Naruto expected. It wasn't a man dressed like a bat...It was just some drop dead sexy masked 20-something year old dressed in a skin tight leather suit with some padding and a blue symbol of a bird in his chest.
"Hey! Been awhile!" Nightwing greeted, with his sexy raven hair blowing in the wind.
Naruto's confusion mirrored the Titans'. Nightwing looked nothing like Robin's description.
"He looks NOTHING like a bat," Naruto mused.
Nightwing, equally puzzled: "Huh?"
To Be Continued...
This was a tough one to write. I don't normally write things this dark, but it doesn't hurt to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while. I wasn't planning to shift back to Hinata originally and wanted her to show up near the end of this arc to reveal she's a Green Lantern with a lot of hints scattered throughout. At first I was going to make her join the Star Sapphire Corps, but after drawing her in a suit, it didn't look right at all, she wouldn't wear something that bold and pink isn't her color. Then I wanted to try Violet and later blue, but GL was the only suit she looked good in to me and I think will is the perfect emotion for her.
