Nick stood making food in his mother's house with Schmidt and Cece. His mother was laughing as they told stories about their adventures as friends, taking in everything about her son's adventures and learning even more about her daughter-in-law. "It really was the best." Cece laughed as Nick chuckled.

"Daddy!" They heard as a little boy ran into the kitchen.

"Yeah, bud?" Nick answered glancing at him.

"Mommy fell down." He said.

Nick furrowed his brow. "What?"

"Mommy fell down." He said pointing out the door. Nick turned and started for the stairs.

"Jess!" He called as he ran up the stairs, Cece and Schmidt behind him. "Jess." He said as he ran into his old room and found Jess on the floor in her towel. "Jess." He said again as he sifted her to make sure she was alive.

"Oh my god, Jess." Cece said as she ran over looking at her friend.

Nick bent over her, taping her face. "Jess." He said his fear building before she groaned and started to come to.

"Nick." She mumbled and looked up at him her brow furrowed. "What happened?" She asked.

"You passed out." Nick said as he helped her sit up.

"You should go to the hospital." Cece said worried as Jess looked at her. "You don't just pass out for nothing. Jess you've never done that."

"No, I'm fine. really, I just… I got too hot." Jess said waving off her friend's worry.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but Cece's right." Nick said. "Come on, we're going to the hospital." He said as he reached out helping her stand back up slowly, holding on to her to make sure she was alright.

"Nick, don't make a big deal out of it, I'm fine." She told him, trying to wave off his concern.

Cece watched Nick shake his head. "Sweety, you're going even if I have to carry you out myself." She said as Jess looked at her. "Nick get her dressed, we'll get the car." She said as she and Schmidt started down the stairs again.

"Is Jess alright?" Bonnie asked as they made their way down.

"She's alright." Cece said, shooing Schmidt out to the car. "She just passed out for a minute. Nick's getting her ready, we're going to take her to the hospital to make sure she's alright. Could you watch the kids for us?"

"Yeah, of course." Bonnie said looking back at the nervous little boy before Nick and Jess made their way down the stairs.

"Nick, I'm fine, I'm telling you it's nothing." Jess tried to argue.

"Yeah, yeah, you can keep saying it but there's nothing you can do." Nick said as he ushered her towards the door. "Cece." She nodded and continued pushing her friend out the door as Nick looked at his mother. "Ma, we got to run Jess to the hospital just to make sure she's alright. She's never passed out, out of the blue like this and she's still weak and dizzy."

"Go, go. Make sure she's alright." Bonnie said. "Don't worry about the little ones, they'll be alright." She said before the little boy ran over to Nick who bent down.

"Hey, listen buddy." Nick said. "You stay here with Ruth and Grandma okay. Mommy needs to go see the doctor for a little bit. You be good, we'll be back in no time." The little boy nodded as Nick ruffled his hair and stood back up. "Thanks, ma." He said before he made his way out to the car, and they started for the hospital.

Nick unlocked the door letting Schmidt, Cece, and Jess in. "We're going to check on Ruth and get sleep." Schmidt said. "Really glad you're better than okay, Jess." He said as she nodded and started heading up the stairs. Cece hugged her friend saying goodnight and following her husband.

Nick sighed as they walked into the living room stopping as they found Bonnie sitting on the couch with their son cuddled up to her. "You're home." Bonnie said softly, excited to see them. "Are you alright, dear?" She asked worried.

Jess nodded. "I'll be fine. My blood pressure just went a little too high. The doctor said it was relatively normal in pregnancies, especially earlier on." She explained. "I'm so sorry we made you stay up."

Bonnie looked at them both as they smirked at her. "You're pregnant? You're having another little grandbaby?" She asked excited as they both nodded. "Oh! I'm so happy, that's wonderful news."

"We're going to check in with my doctor when we get back home but the doctor at the hospital said we'll both be fine." Jess explained with a little smile.

"You could have just put him to bed and gotten some sleep." Nick said.

Bonnie waved him off. "The poor thing was worried. It was no problem at all to spend time with my grandson." She said with a little smile, looking at the boy sound asleep against her.

"Thank you for taking care of him." Jess said as Nick walked over gently picking him up.

As he lifted his son he started to stir. "Sh, it's alright, buddy." He said as he rested him against his shoulder, letting him does back off.

"Thank you again Bonnie." Jess said as Nick walked back towards her.

"We should get him to bed and get some sleep." He said as Jess nodded the little family walking up to Nick's old room to get some much-needed sleep.

The next morning Nick made his way into the kitchen where his mother was making breakfast. "Good morning." She smiled seeing her son as he ran a hand over his head.

"Ma, you don't need to make breakfast for us every day." He said.

Bonnie waved at him. "Nonsense." She said. "How's Jess?"

Nick looked at her as he poured a mug of coffee. "She's alright. Doctors said her and the baby will be alright, just have to keep an eye on things." He explained. "I think I'll just run out in traffic before she wakes up with her, I told you so."

Bonnie swatted his arm. "Oh, stop that." She said as Nick smirked. "What time is the party tonight?"

"Winston said it starts at four." Nick told her as he took a seat at the table.

A little boy ran into the room with a bright smile, giggling. "Mornin' Daddy." He grinned.

"Hey, good morning, buddy." Nick said as he pulled the boy into his lap.

Jess smiled as she walked in. "Reggie is ready for the day." She said as she walked over to the coffee pot, pouring her own mug.

"Oh yeah?" Nick asked, looking at the boy. "You ready to tear up the town?"

"Yeah!" He grinned, making Nick smile at him as Jess walked over with a smile of her own, the parents watching their little boy as he started babbling about everything he was going to be doing. Bonnie smiled as she looked over at the table. It wasn't long ago that she had first met Jess, she hadn't liked her, she had even threatened to hurt her. She couldn't believe how she stepped in to help make Walt's funeral everything he would have wanted. She could see the way her son looked at her, the love was clear on both their faces. She started to realize there was something more than just a girl wanting to jump in and push things around, trying to take her son for everything he had. Jess was different, she was the perfect woman for her son.

Nick laughed, bringing her back from her thoughts as she watched him set Reggie on his feet to run from the room. Nick looked at the smiling Jess and smirked. "So, you ready for a day out on the town?"

"I don't think I'm ready for Reggie's plan." Jess said.

Nick smirked, reaching out to take her hand. "I don't think anyone is ready for that plan." He said, kissing her cheek as he stood up to help his mother with breakfast when the others started wandering into the kitchen.

Bonnie watched her son working to make breakfast as Schmidt criticized his techniques and the women teased the two men. Ruth and Reggie ran back in to sit with their mothers giggling as Nick splashed pancake batter at Schmidt which started one of the lectures.

Jess walked over with Reggie on her hip as Cece shook her head. "I think you're both ridiculous." Jess said as she took the spatula from Nick. "Reggie, go sit with Daddy and Uncle Schmidt." She said handing him to Nick.

"Because we know how to have more fun without the work." Nick said, taking Reggie to hold in his arm as Jess gave him a look. "We're going, we're going." He said as he and Schmidt walked over and sat. Schmidt started trying to critique Jess only to earn a look and he shrunk in his seat.

"No telling Mommy to cook." Reggie said sitting in Nick's lap.

"Never tell Mommy how to cook if you want to live." Nick said as Reggie nodded seriously and the group sat falling into their usual loving talks as Cece joined Jess to help make breakfast, insisting Bonnie and the boys sat. Jess glanced over and smiled seeing Nick sitting with Reggie in his lap, talking with Schmidt as they told Bonnie more stories and Cece and Ruth laughed and listened to the ridiculousness. Jess never imagined this would be life. Finally married to Nick, having a son and another baby on the way all sitting around talking with Nick's mother before they were to go to Winston's mother's birthday party later. All the crazy, all the frustrations and complications that had led to this moment and would continue was worth every moment.
