Silver Flames with the Devil's Luck

The scene shows of the inside of a house where there appears to be a person sitting on the large chair and reading a special book that is floating in the air and the pages moves on their own.

"Hmm, no matter how many times I read through my own grimoire, I never stop wanting to read it." The woman said.

Suddenly she heard crying coming from outside of the house surprising the woman as she seems to have look over to the door.

"Odd, I wasn't expecting any visitors today." The woman surprised, wondering who that could be at the door.

The scene changes to the door as it doors though doesn't appear to be anyone answering the door until we look down seeing something odd, the woman turns out to be a small creature wearing a large witch hat and little red framed glasses, and her grimoire is floating next to her.

"Huh, a basket for me?" The creature woman noticed the basket.

"Perhaps it's from an admirer." The creature woman joked, but jump in surprise to hear the crying again.

"Hold on, basket don't usual cry like a baby. Unless…" The creature woman jumped on top of one side of the basket.

The creature woman looks inside to see that a baby is crying inside the basket and covered in a silver blanket.

"Now this night is a surprise." The creature woman surprised.

"There, there, no need to fear, little one." The creature woman comforted the baby, and it soon calms down.

"Now, where exactly did you come from?" The creature woman wondered.

"And don't worry, old Grimoirh will make sure you aren't hurt in any way." Grimoirh promised as her grimoire glows and the basket started to glow too the float in the air.

Grimoirh walks back inside with the baby setting him up on the table as she jumps there as well then notice something sticking out from the side, she got curious and took out that seems to be a letter probably about the baby.

"Please rise this precious little silver dragon Laphicet, show him the good of magic to embrace." Grimoirh read the letter, that appears to be all.

"No sender, guess whoever drop you off here must mean something seriously bad happened to your parents. But to my doorstep. Could they have been aware of my true form?" Grimoirh wondered.

Grimoirh looks over at the sleeping baby with his name revealed as Laphicet as he turns over to his left making some soft snores, she looks back at the letter again taking a moment to think before letting out a sigh.

"I really don't like doing too hard of work, but now it looks like I don't have any other choice." Grimoirh couldn't believe she was about to do this.

"Well, little one, looks like you're going to be in the care of Grimoirh here." Grimoirh stroked little Laphicet's head.

Baby Laphicet grab his little hand onto Grimoirh's little hand much to her surprise and saw the smile.

"Looks like you may be a good baby to take care of, after all." Grimoirh chuckled.

(14 Years Later)

Mana, the mystical form of energy that all living things have within as they are blessed with this power that allows one to wield the power of magic. Mana is the source of all magical powers and anyone with magic can do amazing things that no normal humans can do, controlling the power of nature and the magic is helped more is with special books called Grimoire.

"Laphicet, are you in your room?" Grimoirh called out.

"Yes, teacher. Just reading up about Mana." Laphicet responded.

"Come down, we'll be going to the Grimoire Tower library." Grimoirh said.

"Coming!" Laphicet said as he closes the book and look at himself in the mirror to make sure everything is alright.

Laphicet appears as a young child in pale, innocent colors. He has green eyes and blonde hair, with a swirl on top representing a halo. He wears a white cloak, a short blue cape, long black socks, black shoes, and a large black choker with a yellow jewel.

"Okay, I'm off now!" Laphicet nodded at himself as he leaves the room.

Laphicet walks down the stairs and look over at the dining table seeing an empty bowl with a wooden spoon still inside.

"I see she didn't take her dish to the sink." Laphicet said to himself.

Laphicet took the bowl and spoon to the sink cleaning them up with some water then putting them away then walking out of the house.

"Good morning, Teacher. You left your bowl at the table again." Laphicet greeted the creature woman.

"And a good morning to you too, my little silver dragon. Sorry about that, I just didn't feel like putting it away." Griomoirh greeted back.

"I figured as much." Laphicet laughed a little.

"Now come, the Grimoire Tower awaits." Grimoirh hopped onto her grimoire and float up to Laphicet's head level.

"This is so exciting." Laphicet smiled as they start walking together.

"You say that every day when we go to the tower." Grimoirh pointed out.

"I can't help it, I love being at that tower! All the grimoire sitting on those shelves just waiting for their new owners to appear and they come flying out to greet the new mages." Laphicet expressed how he loves the grimoires.

"Yes, yes, that special occasion when one turns 15 to receive their grimoire and set out to become whatever they wish to do with it as most would become Magic Knights." Grimoire nodded.

"Good morning, Grim, Laphicet!" One man from a food stand greeted the two.

"Good morning, sir!" Laphicet greeted back.

"Still short as ever." The man teased.

"Hey, I've grown! I'm about 144 cm now!" Laphicet yelled angry of his height.

"Hey Grim, we're still on for some cards knight?" One red hair woman with gray line asked along with an old man next to her.

"Of course, just be prepared for when you lose to me again." Grimoirh answered with a grin.

"You know, teacher, you should really be careful with gambling otherwise you may end up losing more than your favorite hat." Laphicet scolded his guardian.

"Relax, it's only between friends enjoying the time of their life while they still have some when being as old as we are." Grimoirh assured.

"I don't think I'll ever be into gambling like you." Laphicet stated.

"That's a good thing, at least you're mature enough to know better unlike me." Grimoirh smiled.

Laphicet and Grimoirh soon arrives at the tower heading inside where there is a large and tall area of the building where hundreds of dozens of books stacked inside these shelves, the boy smiles upon seeing them with his very own eyes as he twirls around once and looking at one book closely.

"No matter how many times I come in here, this place just keeps on being magical!" Laphicet smiled.

"Guess I feel the same way when I was placed in charge of this tower." Grimoirh said.

"When the mage dies, so do their Grimoirh. So, how do you think these books were made and how do they even know which person to go to?" Laphicet asked as he looks around.

"Those are the million yui questions that everyone has been trying to solve for thousands of years, but no clear answers were ever presented." Grimoirh stated as she looks at all the books.

"Which makes the adventure of magic all the more exciting!" Laphicet smiled.

"And to think, just one more year from now, you'll have your own grimoire and the magic you have will be even more unique." Grimoirh smiled at her child.

"Yeah, I can't to see how far I can go with my fire magic." Laphicet nodded and hold out his hands.

A few seconds later, a ball of fire appeared between his hands burning so beautiful and fierce at the same time with the light of the silver color making it dazzle, Laphicet tossed his hands toward the air causing the fireball going higher towards the ceiling.

When the fireball made contact to the ceiling, it explodes into dozens of little fireballs falling down like sparkling little raindrops made of stars.

"I've always admired how amazing my flames are, fire that is warm and beautiful." Laphicet stated.

"That's right, fire can be both peaceful to protect other while it can also be destructive to anything it burns." Grimoirh believed as she floats closer to the boy.

"So, have you thought about what you want to do with your life once you gain your grimoire?" Grimoirh asked.

"Well, there's still a lot of things I want to do, but I think there are two things I like and those would be to either become a Magic Knight or an archaeologist to discover ruins and ancient tongues!" Laphicet revealed two of his dreams.

"Well, a Magic Knight I can understand because those people are sworn to protect the entire Clover Kingdom from evil people and such, but I'm surprise that you want to become an archaeologist." Grimoirh commented.

"Being an archaeologist would allow me to travel to further places probably beyond the kingdom and there would be hidden places that no one has ever seen before in countless centuries, there would also be places out in the sea too!" Laphicet expressed how he feelings about archaeologist.

"Ah, so you wish to travel the world going on adventures wherever you go." Grimoirh smiled, now understanding this.

"Well, I also want to stupid the ancients to help you too, teacher." Laphicet revealed that part.

"Help me?" Grimoirh confused at first until she realizes what the boy is planning.

"So, you want to find some ancient magic that'll help lift the curse than turned into the form you see right now." Grimoirh figured out.

"I know you told me not to think too much and worry about it, but I also know that curse caused your magic to make your body feel weak as a flea and exhausted to almost passing out." Laphicet explained.

"Yes, that has been giving me lots of trouble for the past couple of decades, but I've been going by fine and making my grimoire float like this doesn't cause me any trouble." Grimoirh pointed out.

"Even so, it's still unfair that you'll get hurt by your own magic if you use a spell and that is the most unforgivable thing I've ever heard of!" Laphicet believed, looking a little angry.

"(Oh Laphicet, ever the kind boy who's always concerned for others above himself even when some say they are okay with the circumstances of the situation right now.)" Grimoirh thought smiled.

"I thank you for the thought, but I believe you should be focusing on your own well-being and the future you want to pursue in life." Grimoirh advised.

"I know, I know, but I care a lot about you teacher. Ever since you took me in as a baby, I want to be able to pay that great kindness of yours." Laphicet stated strongly.

"Oh Laphicet, I never been much of a parent type myself until you suddenly appeared at my doorstep." Grimoirh chuckled and stroke his cheek.

"I don't know how I did it, but you ended up growing into quite the young man I can always be proud of." Grimoirh smiled making Laphicet smile.

"Of course, being too proud can be quite tiring and I rather not make myself go to sleep." Grimoirh joked a bit, making Laphicet laugh.

"Now, time for those chores. They aren't gonna clean themselves up even with magic." Grimoirh said as she floated to her office.

"Yes, teacher." Laphicet nodded and grabbed the broom.

Laphicet is sweeping the floor carefully to make sure there aren't any dusts being left out and collecting them in the dust collector, then he moves onto cleaning the pots and windows with a wet cloth and soap.

Laphicet stop for a moment as he looks at the bookshelves seeing all the hundreds of books sitting there quietly and waiting patiently for their new owner to show up.

"One of you belongs to me, and I'm looking forward to being partners with you." Laphicet smiled excitingly.

Unknown to him, one big slightly glows of silver for a second then nothing like a normal book.

"Laphicet, I'm going out for a bit." Grimoirh informed as she leaves her office.

"Did something urgent come up?" Laphicet asked while sweeping the dusts off from the grimoire.

"Not quite, I just remember that I borrowed cheese for a sandwich from lunch the other day and I forgot to give it back." Grimoirh explained.

"Okay, I'll watch over the place while you're gone." Laphicet promised.

"I know you will, I'll be back shortly." Grimoirh smiled and floated out of the tower.

"Well, looks like I'm taking care of you guys all by myself!" Laphicet smiled.

Outside of the tower when Grimoirh just left, a shadowy figure watches her from behind a large bush and carefully make his way inside the tower to begin his crime.

"Oh, I should check on the office to see if Grimoirh was doing anything important." Laphicet said to himself as he walks into the office.

A few seconds later, the shadowy figure comes out revealing himself to be a messy looking man with blonde hair and purple eyes wearing some tattered black and yellow clothing.

"Oh yes, look at all of these grimoires! All for mine to take and sell for a lot of money!" The thief man chuckled evilly as he unfolds his two large bags.

"Looks like everything is well in ordered." Laphicet exited the office with his eyes close for a bit.

"Now it's onto the other chores." Laphicet said before opening his eyes and becomes shocked of seeing someone actually stealing the grimoires.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Laphicet demanded.

"Shit! There's still someone here." The thief man cursed.

"Those grimoires are not to be remove from their shelves until their future owners come. What you're doing is taking away the kids' future including myself!" Laphicet angered.

"Yeah, I know which makes it all the more fun to sell them so those brats will never get a future even thought they would still have magic." The thief man smiled mockery.

"Give those books back right now!" Laphicet unleashed a fireball at the thief man.

However, the thief man pulled out his dark blue grimoire and a wall of water appeared in front of him blocking the fireball.

"Ha! Weak fires like that are worthless to my water magic!" The thief man laughed.

Laphicet tried unleashing a big stream of flame while making sure to only focus on the thief without burning the books he has in those bags, but his attack isn't getting through the wall of water.

"Wow, you got impressive control there, kid. Are you planning on becoming a Magic Knight?" The thief man asked.

"So what if I am?" Laphicet asked back.

"Well then, I better make sure you don't become one. I'll make sure you die a pathetic death just like I did one knight I managed to kill, there was also that little girl in the way. So, I say that kill is a bonus." The thief man used his water magic to trap Laphicet's head into a bubble.

"(No, he got me!)" Laphicet thought tried to break free while the thief laughs. Then his thoughts went to Grimoirh, and how she did everything within her power to take care of him.

"(Grimoirh… I made a promise not to become a burden to you. And I won't let this guy ruined what you stood for your belief in magic as well as mine!)" Laphicet thought determined.

"(I want to be strong! I have to be strong! I'll burn anything that dares try to harm those I love!)" Laphicet thought clutched his hands tightly.

"(If God wants me to do nothing, then… then I'll… I'll become the devil who protect everyone!)" Laphicet thought determined and his fire magic starts to consume his body.

Suddenly the book from earlier glows again and pop itself out of the shelf and floats right toward Laphicet.

"What the heck, a grimoire and it's already resonating with this kid?" The thief shocked.

Suddenly, Laphicet's flame magic burns brighter and stronger than before causing the bubble to vanish into steam in an instant much to the horror of the thief, not only that but the color of his fire is changing from the normal orange red into pure silver easily evaporating the bubble away.

The leaves of a clover are said to each contain one thing. In the first three dwell integrity, hope, and love. The fourth leaf is given over to good luck. And in the fifth… there lives the devil.

On the front cover of Laphicet's grimoire is the five-leaf clover as he glares at the thief and his silver flame forms into what appears to be a dragon with devil red eyes.

"What the fucking Magic?! Your flame is turning into silver and what's with that dragon shape?" The thief asked shaking in shitty fear, and just wet himself in both dropping his water magic and his pee.

"You are going to give those books back right NOW!" Laphicet shouted as he unleashes a stream of his even stronger silver flame consuming the thief as he screams in pain, but the flames do nothing to the surroundings as they just simmer.

With a wave of his hand, Laphicet made the silver flames disappeared as Grimoirh has also witness the whole thing with her own eyes.

"Laphicet, you… you got your own grimoire?" Grimoirh shocked.
