Beca's point of view
I hold the mic to my chest and let out an overwhelmed, emotional grin while taking in the cheers from the crowd after finishing the song. My life is about to change for the better since after this I'm going to LA and work with DJ Khalid himself. There's just one thing left to do and that is to tell Chloe how I really feel. I look into the crowd to see other groups who competed clapping and giving me a standing ovation. I take one final bow before turning around to the girls who have supported me through everything. Chloe immediately runs up to me and pulls me into a hug, holding me close as the others join us in the hug.
,,I can't believe you pulled off that song so amazingly!" Emily tells me, before pulling out of the hug.
,,Well, as her best friend, you should know she can do these kinds of amazing things." Chloe says and I can't help but look at her with a warning glare. She doesn't need to snap at Emily like that.
,,Let's get out of sight." I tell them, not wanting a fight in front of this many people. The Bella's all agree and follow me off stage. There I turn towards Chloe. ,,Chlo, can I talk to you later?" I ask her and see a worried expression come on her face. ,,Nothing to be worried about." I reassure her and she nods.
,,Sure." She says as they're escorted back to their seats to watch the rest of the performances of the night. Once it's finished, I find Chloe's seat and see her walk over to me. ,,So, you wanted to talk to me?" She asks me as she's in front of me.
,,Yeah," I swallow for a moment. ,,Chloe, I think I'm -" Before I can finish my sentence, Theo walks over to us.
,,Beca, Khalid wants to go over your contract." He tells me.
,,Really? Now?" He nods. ,,I'm kind of in the middle of something, can I meet Khalid later?"
,,You don't want to wait because you will be flying to LA first thing in the morning. Khalid wants your contract to be ready so you can start right away." I look over at Chloe with an apologetic look.
,,Go meet him, Becs. Find me afterwards, okay?" I sigh. Chloe is always so understanding and always puts me before her. I'm glad she's one of my closest friends.
,,I'll see you later, don't go anywhere." I tell her and she laughs.
,,I promise, now go make sure you can become the best music producer in the whole world." She tells me and then she sits back in her seat. I smile at the and follow Theo backstage. Once there, I turn to Theo.
,,I hope this is not some excuse to ask me out, because that was the most important person in my life!" I say frustrated. He holds his hands up in surrender before taking me to Khalid, who indeed wants to go over my contract so Theo wasn't lying. Unfortunately, this whole thing is taking more time than I wanted but after some time, Khalid and I finally decide on the terms. ,,Am I free to go now?" I ask Khalid. ,,I was in the middle of something really important before Theo pulled me away."
,,Of course, I'm sorry for doing that, but this needed to be done. I'm thrilled to work with you and I bet she is still waiting for you." I give Khalid a look. ,,Oh, I saw the way you looked at her on stage. I hope she feels the same. Good luck." I'm thankful he doesn't tell me not to get attached or get into a relationship, because that would not be good for me writing songs. I need Chloe and my feelings for her to write songs. I say goodbye before going back to Chloe's seat, but when I'm there, Chloe is not there anymore. Confused I start to search backstage for the woman I love.
Suddenly, after almost giving up, I see her beautiful silhouette from afar. I smile and make my way forward towards her, but just as I'm close enough I abruptly stop as I feel my heart break. I can't move as I watch Chloe kissing Chicago. I mean, I should've known since Chloe was flirting with him all throughout this tour, but somehow I was hoping she could feel the same about me. Guess I was wrong. It is now that I notice Theo walking up beside me.
,,Oh, that's nice." He says as he watches Chloe and Chicago. He watches me looking at the kissing couple and then leans in towards me. I turn away and grimaces.
,,Dude, what are you doing?!" I whisper-yell at him, not wanting Chloe to know I'm here right now. I can't handle that.
,,I'm sorry." He apologizes and I just sigh.
,,Just make sure it won't happen again. If you didn't know already, I'm into girls and not attracted to you or any other guy." He nods at me.
,,It won't happen again." He says. I turn to look at him.
,,So, you work for me now. I gotta tell you; I'm going to be a handful." I tell him before leading him away from Chloe and Chicago.
