Suits Undressed | S01 E05 · Bail Out
by Kas
Donna prided herself on her prowess in the workplace. She was the best legal secretary in all of New York City and she was willing to go toe-to-toe with anyone who thought otherwise.
And part of what made her so damn good at her job was her ability to keep her finger to the pulse, especially when it came to her charge.
She'd eavesdropped on plenty of Harvey's conversations back when they worked at the DA's office and the task had become even easier when they'd transferred to Pearson Hardman and he'd been given an intercom.
Which was why she knew when Louis Litt came waltzing down the hall with a self-important grin, barely stopping for a quick "He's expecting me" before strolling into Harvey's office, he was bringing news of his call to Judge Palermo and already had plans to cash in on the quid pro quo Harvey had undoubtedly promised him.
Being ever diligent, and maybe a tad self-indulgent, Donna hit the button on her intercom to listen in.
"So…I just spoke to Judge Palermo," Louis was saying, "And because he thinks I'm a good guy and I told him I'd owe him one, your case is gonna be moved up way ahead. Back scratch."
Oh, god. Donna had to stifle a laugh and wouldn't even be entirely surprised if the man had meant it literally.
"I don't have a firstborn, you know," Harvey answered, clearly already done with the theatrics, "So what exactly do you want for that?"
Louis didn't answer, but he must have made some gesture because Harvey's tone was rather indignant as he said, "You're not getting one of my ties."
"No–" Louis muttered and there was a slight tapping sound on the line.
"Your shoulder? What–" Harvey sounded confused, but Donna immediately realized what the other lawyer was hinting at. Norma was going on vacation soon and there wasn't much Louis Litt would trade favors for, "Your lapel–
She looked over her shoulder just as Harvey's gaze followed the finger Louis was motioning with to her desk.
Donna smirked at him and Harvey's brows shot up.
"Donna?" he laughed, then muttered a quiet, "Oh, god."
Louis apparently didn't appreciate the mockery.
"Norma is going to Istanbul for two weeks," he said in an insistent tone, "And you know that I'm not good with temps."
He was legendarily terrible with them, actually. A fact Donna and Norma had spoken about in detail just a few days ago.
"Oh my god," Harvey scoffed, "Ask me for something else."
He sounded bored, if not slightly annoyed, and Donna smirked again. If there was one thing she knew without a doubt, it was that Harvey had a very childlike mentality when it came to others coming onto his playground and eyeing his toys.
He did not like to share.
"Harvey, this is non-negotiable," Louis snipped, "You owe me now."
Donna felt a twinge of annoyance too, at the attitude Louis had caught. Like just because she was a secretary, she could be traded and used as needed. And his implication that she was something Harvey could pay with…
Dickhead.
"Donna is one thing that I can't give you," Harvey said, and a sudden warmth fought back the more negative emotions.
"Why not?"
"For one thing, she'd never agree to it."
Goddamn, she adored that man.
From the very start of their relationship, professional and otherwise, he'd always tried to do right by her and had offered her the respect that many other attorneys were quick to dismiss.
Louis included, it would seem.
"You're her boss," he griped, "You just tell her to do stuff."
Donna rolled her eyes.
"I don't tell her to do anything," Harvey insisted, sounding just a tad smug about the fact, "She just does."
Because after so long together, she knew him. And he trusted her to know what he needed. Just like she trusted him now not to use her as a bargaining chip, even as Louis's tone turned indignant.
"All right, fine, you know what? That's just…not a problem. I will call Judge Palermo, and I'll tell him I was mistaken, and then your hearing will be in, I don't know, maybe six months?"
Ugh. He really was a jackass.
"I tell you what," Harvey called, and Donna hardly needed the intercom to hear him now, "If you can convince her yourself, you have my blessing."
Oh?
She caught Louis' grin from the corner of her eye and it was with absolute confidence and superiority that he declared, "She's gonna love me so much, you're gonna fight to get her back."
Harvey's lack of response told her it was game time, and she quickly pretended to be typing into her computer as Louis approached her desk.
"Hi, Donna."
She offered him a dismissive, judgemental stare over her shoulder.
"Harvey and I were just, uh, talking about you, and-"
She turned back to her monitor, "No."
A beat, then "You don't even know what I was gonna say."
"Yes, I do," she sing-songed, keeping her face expressionless, despite how much she was enjoying the chance to screw with Louis.
He paused again, "And how is that possible?"
Donna shrugged, "I read lips, I know body language, and I talk to Norma."
With flair, she turned her head away, pulled on all of her past acting abilities, and schooled her face into a look of offense before looking back at the attorney.
"I'm not some token you win at a fair, Louis."
"You're not," he immediately defended, "I know you're not. You're not a token."
She let her lip quiver, "I'm a human being, and I–"
"Yes, you are," he nodded.
"I'm sorry, I just–" Tears filled her eyes on command as she sunk into the persona she was embodying and watched with great amusement as Louis stiffened, "You know what? That just made me feel really…cheap."
Louis blanched, "No…I'm just trying to tell you that you're really good at what you do, Donna. So I'm gonna ask you–"
She leaned forward dramatically, "It's like my soul…hurts…now."
"No, Donna, listen," Louis was working into a panic and it took everything she had to stay in character, "Even if your soul hurts a little bit–"
She sobbed as he rushed through his words, "I'm sorry!"
"It's okay, it's gonna be fine," He reached out, like he'd thought about trying to comfort her and she waved him off, then pinched her nose, "Don't cry. Please don't cry, Donna…Oh, shit."
The flight of his fight-or-flight response won out and Louis abandoned his objective, scurrying off down the hall.
Donna hid behind her fingers for a moment longer, making sure he was really gone, then broke out into a grin.
She turned her body, facing Harvey's office and found that he was already looking back. He'd sat and watched the whole ordeal, and the amusement on his face was colored with a possessive satisfaction that had a shiver running down her spine.
"I think I owe you for that one," she called over to him, shaking off the feeling, "That was fun."
Harvey's eyes narrowed slightly, "Wait a second. The– the time that you cried, and then I let your parents stay in my condo…"
Oh. Yeah…oops.
"Yup," she admitted, and spun back to her desk with a smirk, avoiding whatever bitch face he was throwing her way.
Most of their day continued this way, sans Louis. She did her job while throwing out little quips. Harvey shot back some of his own while also fielding the mess his new little fake associate was causing with his inexperience; all while managing Ray's case with a fender bender.
At nearly nine, Donna was still at the firm. Harvey had called her from a cab after his hearing with news that the judge had ruled in favor of the guy that had hit Ray's car.
They'd be starting trial the next day.
She knew it was more loyalty to his driver than anything else that had made Harvey ask her to stay to help him pull any files and precedent that may help him.
The case would be a slam-dunk, it usually was for him, but he wanted to be thorough, for Ray's sake. It was a quality she would have admired if it wasn't cutting so late into their evening.
"So, Judge Palermo still hates you?" she asked the moment he stepped into his office.
She was already there standing over the table, shifting through some of the papers she'd printed off for him.
"He never hated me," Harvey snarked, shrugging out of the suit jacket he had on and tossed it over the back of one of the chairs, "He just gets a kick out of putting me in my place."
"Right," she fought a smirk and he reached around her for a file, arm brushing against her own, "This everything?"
She nodded, looking up at him, "Everything I could find in half an hour."
He was standing close enough that she could smell a hint of his cologne, faded as it was, wafting from the collar of his white button down.
A frown broke across his lips as he scanned the document, "It's not a lot."
"And I'm not your associate, you know, whose job this actually is," Donna pointed out, "So stop complaining. Or I'll be tempted to take Louis up on his offer after all."
Harvey scoffed, nudging her with his elbow, "Yeah right. You're not going to go work for Louis."
The assurance of his tone had her straightening and she arched a perfect brow as they locked eyes.
"And why's that?" she challenged, "Because you're my boss, and you tell me what to do?"
He deadpanned, "That's Louis' line, not mine. And no. It's because you wouldn't last one day with him before you're begging to come back to my desk."
There it was again. That possessive emphasis that drove her crazy each time she heard even a hint of it.
Paired with the lethal focus on his chocolate brown eyes honed in on her, Donna felt a familiar ember spark low in her stomach.
"I think we both know how long I can last," she taunted, letting the words fall thick as honey, "And Harvey…I wouldn't be the one begging in this scenario."
She bit her lip as his gaze darkened, immediately reading the shift in mood…and he never did back down from a challenge.
Stepping impossibly closer, Harvey seemed to take up all the oxygen in the room. Certainly all the air in her lungs.
"You sure about that?" he asked, his voice dropping an octave as he laid the bait.
She was happy to take it.
"What I'm sure about," Donna murmured quietly, "Is how absolutely crazy it would make you if I did go work for him."
He really did despise sharing. Especially when it came to her.
"And you never know," she added, just to drive the wedge deeper, "He may surprise me. What if I like working for him?"
She felt a thrill at the way Harvey's eyes flared. His head crooked as he stared her down.
"Then I'd have to remind you why you like working for me more," he said.
There was an underflow of erotic promise to the words that was impossible to ignore. She did anyway.
Lifting a hand, Donna touched the edges of Harvey's tie and straightened it. Then, with all the faux innocence she could muster, she looked up at him through her lashes.
"And why is that, Harvey?"
His eyes flickered away, briefly, to the glass wall. It was late enough that the halls had cleared; most of the employees had long checked out, and those who hadn't knew better than to disturb Harvey Specter after hours.
Donna knew what was coming, but still, she gasped when Harvey's hands closed around her, yanking her none too gently into his arms.
He leaned in, brushing his lips against her ear as he whispered, "Because I do things to you that Louis Litt has never dreamed of."
Her skin erupted in goosebumps, his words affecting her to her core, but Donna held her pride and smirked.
"I do things to myself that Louis has never thought of doing to a woman. So you'll have to do better than that."
Before the taunt had even fully left her mouth, Harvey buried a fist into her hair and yanked her head back.
Donna cried out in surprise at the sudden jerk that exposed her neck and Harvey's head dipped into the space he created, licking a long wet stroke up her throat with his tongue; ending at her earlobe where his teeth teased her skin.
"You want better? Take off your panties and sit down. I'll make sure you never leave my desk."
He let go of her as quickly as he'd come on, leaning back against the table with an expectant stare.
Donna didn't argue. In fact, she made sure to drag out the action, reaching beneath her dress to grab the edges of her thong and shimming them down slowly, over her hips and thighs, down her leg…until she was stepping out of them, one heel at a time.
She kicked them to Harvey's feet when she was done and watched him fight back a smirk at the bratty action.
That amusement died, however, when the seat she chose happened to be his office chair.
His stare intensified as he watched her sit down and he arched a single brow in question.
"What?" Donna grinned, "Maybe I want to be the one in a position of power this time. Boss."
The tease broke through his facade. Harvey chuckled as he crossed the space between them, loosening his tie with each step.
"Sitting in my seat makes you feel powerful, baby? Alright. You can feel powerful."
The tie hit the ground just before his knees did as he dropped in front of her, "But let's not forget who's really in control, here."
He proved his claim by grabbing her thighs and yanking her forward so that she was seated on the edge of his chair.
In the same move, he threw her legs over his shoulder, exposing her completely for his lips and tongue, neither of which wasted any time dipping into her already wet center.
"Mhmm," he purred, teasing around her clit. She felt the vibration through her entire body. "You're so beautiful, all spread out like this for me."
"Harvey-" Donna exhaled sharply, and he sank into her, eating her out with a sudden ferocity that left her gasping, "Fuck!"
He was all tongue and teeth and tunnel-vision focus as he sucked different parts of her pussy into his mouth, stroked her with his tongue and slid it inside of her.
His oral was almost as good as his cock, and it was all she could do to grip the handles of the chair and stay in place as he devoured her.
Her orgasm rushed through her body with embarrassing speed, and as much as she knew he'd be smug about the fact later, she was powerless to hold back as it crashed over her.
"Harv-Harvey, god, I– fuck!" she bit her bottom lip until she tasted blood, head thrown back as he wrung every ounce of pleasure from her climax.
He didn't stop until her thighs were shaking and her chest heaved with each breath.
Sure enough, that self-satisfied smirk taunted her as he pulled back, but his equally wrecked appearance made up for it.
"Remind me who the one begging is?" he flashed that cocky Specter grin and Donna launched herself out of the chair, right against his body.
They fell back onto the floor, narrowly missing his desk, but she didn't care.
Her mouth crashed against his and she bit that arrogance right off his lips. Harvey groaned at the sudden onslaught, hands gripping her waist as she settled on top of him.
It was a fight between both of their hands to undo his trouser buttons, the things damn near ripping between their urgent tugs.
When the zipper gave, he pulled the pants down while Donna reached into his underwear and closed her hand over the pulsing erection pinned there.
A slight lift, a shift of her thigh and she was sinking down on him, swallowing his moan as he filled her up. They didn't once break the kiss.
Donna moved, muffling her cries against Harvey's lips as she undilated her hips, stroking him, grinding against his pelvis.
Harvey panted on her tongue and she sat up, pulling him with her. Seated in his lap with her thighs parted on either side of his body, she finally had enough purchase to really move in earnest. Those long fingers of his dug into her waist through her hiked dress.
"Fuck," he hissed, when her mouth fell to his jaw and she sucked her way down the column of his throat.
Then they were moving, Harvey lifting her with one arm while standing from the ground. Her ass landed on his desk, pens and papers flying as he continued to fuck her.
Donna fell back onto her elbows and she locked her legs around his waist, taking the brunt of each thrust.
"Goddamn, you feel good," he growled, pulling her harder onto his cock with each snap of his hips, "Always. so. wet. for. Me."
He shoved her dress up higher, high enough that her bra was showing and he ripped it down, exposing her nipples.
She locked her ankles over his ass, clenching hard as he dropped to suck at her tits, leaving light red marks everywhere his mouth drifted.
The angle changed as his hands arched her hips and Donna cried out.
"God," she threw her head back, "Right there. Fuck, right there, Harvey!"
He slowed down, the asshole, and that smirk returned.
"Say please."
"Oh, fuck you."
He laughed and snapped his hips sharply. She gasped.
"Please," he repeated, "Say it."
She shook her head, clinging to whatever dignity she still had.
Harvey almost stilled and she groaned in frustration.
"Say it," he demanded, "And I'll give you exactly what you need…or don't. Then my dick's going down your throat and you'll have to get yourself off. Either way, I win, baby."
The threat alone was enough to coil her muscles, bringing her right back to the edge he was teasing her on and she promised herself that next time, she was going to make him pay for it.
Tonight, all she cared about was the nirvana she knew she was close to reaching.
She swallowed, "Please."
The one word was all she gave him, and he didn't bother asking for more.
With renewed purpose, he wrapped an arm around her waist and started fucking her again; his pace brutal.
One of her hands dug into his bicep, the other clamped over her mouth as she climaxed and Harvey didn't slow a bit.
She writhed against him, whimpering as she grew more and more sensitive, heat and pleasure overwhelming her.
Then he was grunting out a moan of his own and she felt him harden further.
Two more thrusts and his body seized above hers. He buried his cock deep and his head fell into the crook of her neck as he came.
Sense returned to them slowly and Harvey pulled away only to reach into his drawer for a box of tissues.
Donna whined when he withdrew from her but he made quick work of cleaning up the mess he'd caused between her legs. She tugged her dress back down over her stomach when he'd finished.
Then Harvey sat down in his chair and pulled her into his lap. She sighed, straddling him and rested her head on his shoulder as she let the weight of her body sink against him.
"That's the last time we do this in the office," she said half-heartedly, "Someone's gonna catch us one day."
Donna couldn't see his face, but she knew he was smirking, "You say that every time."
"I mean it every time. Then somehow, you change my mind."
He placed a kiss against her temple, "Sorry, but you know I can't get enough of you."
"Possessive asshole," she accused affectionately, nuzzling into his neck.
Harvey chuckled, "Maybe a little."
They remained like that a few moments more, just holding each other in the aftermath of the sex, until eventually, he tapped at her hip.
"Let's go home."
Donna sat up, frowning as she stared down at him, "You sure? I thought we needed to-"
"You were right," he said, "I have an associate for this shit now. I'll text Mike what we need and he'll either find it or he won't. Either way, this lawsuit is a joke and that taxi driver has no idea what he's getting himself into. We'll be fine."
That unwavering confidence was one of the million things she loved about the man, but it was the soft look in his eyes that really convinced her to agree.
"Home before ten? Careful Harvey, or I may start thinking this us-getting-together thing has been a good influence on you."
He smirked and narrowed his eyes, and she was convinced it was because he knew he looked so damn sexy doing it.
It was the same look he'd given her weeks ago, when too many drinks, too long without sex, and ten years worth of emotions had bubbled up between them and sparked this whole thing.
"This is the fourth time we've fucked in the office now," Harvey said, pulling her from the memory of the first time it had happened, the night they'd officially gotten together, "So who's influencing who here?"
Donna rolled her eyes and untangled herself to stand, "Alright Casanova. If you want to fight about that, let's do it at home. I'm tired and I really need a shower now."
"A shower is a good idea," he agreed, standing too, "But there's no point in fighting when you know I'm right."
"I didn't say that."
Another smug smile, "You will by the end of the night."
He laid a kiss to her lips before she could argue, then swept his tie and her panties up off the floor in a single step.
"Come on," he grabbed his jacket then held out a hand to her, "Let's get out of here."
Donna could only laugh, shaking her head as she took what he offered and let him lead her out of the office.
"You know we're going to have to come in early and clean up that mess in there, right?" she said as they stopped at her desk to grab her purse.
Harvey squeezed her hand, not bothered in the slightest.
"It was worth it."
Yes, she silently agreed, as they started toward the elevators, It really was.
