New SoKai story I came up with! Hope you guys like it! :)

Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts.

"Well here we are!" Donald announced, bringing the Gummi Ship down to land. "Our destination!"

"There it is, right there!" Goofy added, pointing through the windshield. "Disney Castle!"

Sora peered in awe through the windshield at the great palace that he had landed the Gummi Ship in the grounds of. There it was in all its majestic glory. Its white walls stood out against the starry night sky. The boy observed silently, thinking of how this place was the home of the important figures who had played a role in his life-changing journey - including the duck and the dog who'd just flown them there.

He smiled, thinking of how different things would've been if he'd never met Donald and Goofy. It was these two who'd helped him find his Keyblade - as well as his destiny in life.

As the two pilots switched the turbines off, Sora turned to face the passenger ho was aboard the Gummi Ship with him.

Sitting in the chair alongside the brunette' was a certain red-haired girl. Her blue eyes were shining as she gazed in wonder at the castle before them.

"It's so beautiful," Kairi murmured softly.

Sora grinned. If there was anything around here which happened to be beautiful, it wasn't the castle in front of him, but the Princess of Heart at his side.

"It sure is nice," he said, "though I can't think why the King wanted us to come here tonight."

"You sure he didn't say anything more in the message he sent you this morning?" Kairi asked.

"No, he didn't!"

Sora reached into his pocket to pull out his Gummi Phone. He held it up to stare at the screen. His eyes narrowed as he read the message he'd received from King Mickey that morning.

Hi, Sora!

Hope you're not busy this evening - 'cause I want you to come on over to my castle! Donald and Goofy will fly over to Destiny Islands to pick you up in the Gummi Ship! I sure hope you'll come - and make sure you bring Kairi with you!

See ya tonight, pal!

Mickey

Receiving such a message had left Sora feeling baffled all day. He'd instantly shown it to Kairi, who was eager to find out why the King specifically wanted the pair of them to come to visit him. They'd headed out together at sundown to the small island, where they'd found Donald and Goofy waiting for them in the Gummi Ship. In almost no time, the two teenagers were leaving Destiny Islands behind - and now here they were at Disney Castle.

Why they'd been requested to come here, neither of them had any idea.

"I wonder why the King asked us to come visit him," Kairi wondered aloud.

"I dunno." Sora turned to his travelling companions. "Do you guys know why the King wants us here?"

Donald and Goofy gazed at one another, exchanging knowing smiles.

"Sure, we know why the King wants you two here…" Donald answered, "…but we're not telling you!"

"Aww, c'mon!" Sora pouted irritably, clenching his gloved hands into fists. "We're a team, you guys! We tell each other everything!"

"Gawrsh, I'm afraid this, we couldn't tell ya even if we wanted to!" Goofy grinned. "You're just gonna have to find out for yourselves! Hyuck!"

Sora sighed. "So much for all for one and one for all…"

Kairi giggled.

Sora shook his head at the mischievous behaviour of his travelling companions. Then he stood up from his seat before offering his hand to his lifelong friend.

"Well, Kairi, you ready to go find out what the King wants?"

Kairi stared at the hand, then grinned brightly at the boy offering it to her, nodding as she took it in her own.

"Let's go, Sora!"

It was dark inside the castle. No light lit up the corridors which the quartet were making their way through. Donald and Goofy led the way, followed by Sora and Kairi. The teenagers stayed close to the duck and the dog so as not to lose them in the pitch blackness which filled the palace.

"Gee," Kairi whispered, "I didn't expect it to be so dark here."

"This place is usually so bright when I come here!" Sora remarked. "I thought for sure it would be when you stepped inside, Kairi - since there's plenty of light inside your heart!"

Kairi made a face at - before letting off a giggle at the comment Sora had just made about her.

"Well it won't be dark for long…" Donald promised.

"You'll see some light soon!" Goofy added.

"Well good! We're gonna need it if we're here to see the King! If he wanted to see us in us in pitch blackness, he may as well asked to meet in the Relm of Darkness!"

Donald and Goofy stared at each other. The dreary place Sora had just brought up would be far from a good place for the King to meet him and Kairi.

Certainly not for what the magical mouse had planned for the two youngsters.

"Well where is he then?" Sora asked.

"Where's the King?" Kairi questioned.

"Right here!"

As they chorused their answer, Donald and Goofy stopped before some double doors. They smiled widely at the confused teenagers before slowly pulling them open.

Light instantly burst out from the room beyond.

At first, Sora and Kairi held up their hands to protect their faces. It took them a moment to adjust to the light they'd been hit with - before their own faces brightened up over what they saw.

"Wha-" Sora exclaimed, stepping through the open doors as he gazed around with wide eyes in great astonishment. "What is this?"

"Oh my gosh!" Kairi cried, stepping after Sora to join him in the next room, her mouth hanging open with amazement.

Donald and Goofy had led them to the castle's throne room.

It was packed with lots of people - none of which Sora had any trouble recognising as he looked around at them all.

There were so many familiar faces to be seen on the throne room's floor.

Aladdin and Jasmine.

Belle and Beast.

Ariel and Eric.

Hercules and Megara.

Tarzan and Jane.

Mulan and Shang.

Peter Pan and Wendy Darling.

Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder - or was it Eugene Fitzherbert?

Sora was astounded. He hadn't expected to find many of his friends from across different worlds in one place. Yet here they all were at Disney Castle.

Not only were they gathered at this palace, but it appears each were accompanied by the one he loved.

Just like he was…

"Ah, Sora! Kairi! You made it!"

Sora's ears perked up. He recognised that high-pitched voice only too well. He swung around to find that Donald and Goofy had entered the room behind him and Kairi - and that standing between the duck and the dog was a certain mouse.

"Your Majesty!" Sora cried elatedly.

"It's so good to see you!" Kairi added, curtsying before the King.

"It's good to see you two - too!" Mickey chuckled. "I was worried you two weren't gonna be here!"

"But … why have you brought us here?" Sora asked, gesturing to the countless couples before them. "What is all this?"

"Can't you tell?" Mickey's large ears twitched. "Isn't it obvious?"

"Not to Sora, it's not!" Donald snickered.

"Hyuck!" Goofy laughed.

"Aww, cut it out, you guys!" Sora muttered huffily.

Kairi giggled. She found it amusing to see Sora getting playfully teased by his travelling companions.

"Why…" Mickey explained, "this is my magical ball!"

The two teenagers stared, intriguing by the words which the mouse had used to describe the event he'd brought them to.

"Magical … ball?" Kairi stammered.

"You mean it's a night for dancing, Your Majesty?" Sora inquired.

"Not just for dancing…" Mickey beamed. "Dancing with the person who is most precious to you…"

Sora's jaw dropped. He averted his stunned towards the girl who'd come to the castle with him. He could see from how her face was turning red that she was just as stunned as him. It was no wonder Mickey had asked him to bring Kairi here. He could tell that the two of them were as close as all these other couples he'd invited.

The spiky-haired hero couldn't believe he was going to dance tonight - with the girl who was so important to him.

"One thing, though, Your Majesty…" Sora said, lowering his voice. "Is it alright for all these people to come to your ball? After all, I thought those who live across different worlds mustn't know about each other's existence…"

"Oh that rule has long been outdated…" Mickey waved a gloved hand as his smile widened. "Ever since a certain kid started travelling across and meddling in different worlds-"

"Oh not you too, Your Majesty!" Sora groaned.

Everyone standing about the irked boy burst into laughter. The mouse, the duck, the dog - and even the red-haired girl. All of them found it funny to see him getting so wound up.

It was Kairi's laughter that stood out to Sora. He turned slowly towards her, seeing that she was hugging himself from all the giggling she was doing. He watched her going hysterical from his expense - before he suddenly grabbed the sides of her waist, lifting her up from her feet.

"Whoa!" Kairi squeaked. "What are you doing, Sora?!"

"I'm gonna show you…" Sora grinned as he held the girl over his shoulder. "What this guy you've been laughing at all evening is good at - beside using a Keyblade!"

Kairi continued to giggle in all her happiness and excitement. She felt Sora carrying her to the centre of the throne room - which was serving as a dance floor that night. He took her in amongst all the other couples, placing her gently onto her feet before wrapping his arms around her waist.

Peering adoringly up at her hero, Kairi wrapping her arms around his neck, locking herself into his embrace as she gazed into his eyes.

That, for Mickey, was his cue to begin the ball.

There was a flash as the King summoned his Keyblade in his hand.

The mouse waved it through the air - as he cast a certain magical ability of his.

Music began to fill the throne room.

All the couples instantly began to dance together. They couldn't resist moving to the rhythm of the tune that started to play. They wanted to make the most of being at a ball that would be filled with catchy music.

Especially when they had the one they loved to enjoy it with.

Belle and Beast were dancing as gracefully as they'd done in the ballroom of their castle.

Hercules was holding back his godly strength to be gentle with Meg.

Mulan was enjoying getting to be a girl in front of Shang instead of posing as a boy.

Ariel was overjoyed to have her fish tail replaced with legs to dance with Eric.

All Tarzan had learned of human culture had paid off to allow him to waltz wonderfully with Jane.

Aladdin was lifting Jasmine high as if he were placing her onto his magic carpet.

Peter and Wendy were using the pixie dust they'd gotten from Tinker Bell to soar off their feet.

Having her long golden hair braided up meant Rapunzel didn't have to worry about tripping over it with her bare feet while dancing with Flynn (or rather, Eugene!).

From where he was, Sora glanced around at the other couples before looking at his own partner. He couldn't have felt happier to be sharing this wonderful moment with Kairi. This ball of Mickey's was truly living up to how magical he'd said it was.

Sora took the opportunity to do lots of moves with Kairi he'd often seen couples do when sharing a dance.

He twirled her.

He lifted her.

He dipped her.

He swayed with her.

He spun with her.

He did all sorts of dance moves - and hoped she was enjoying every single one of them…

"Do you," he whispered as he held her, "like this, Kairi?"

"Uh uh." Kairi shook her head. "I don't like dancing with you, Sora."

Sora's face fell, the girl's words hitting him like a tone of bricks.

"You … don't?"

Kairi shook her head - before flinging her arms around Sora and holding onto him tighter than ever.

"Nope … I love it!"

"Oh!" Sora felt his legs go weak, laughing in relief as he hugged Kairi in return and rubbed her back. "Now you're teasing me as well! Mickey, Donald and Goofy have really gotten to you, haven't they?"

Kairi giggled - then pressed her lips passionately against Sora's. She closed her eyes as she felt him press his own back, causing her heart to race. The pair continued to dance while locked in a tender, loving kiss.

As far as the young Princess of Heart was concerned, the boy she was dancing with in this castle was a prince to her. He was most certainly her hero - and that was why she loved him.

From where he stood, Mickey watched the couples dancing. His eyes widened when he noticed one of the pairs happened to be sharing a kiss - and a satisfied smile crossed the mouse's face when he saw who it was.

"Yes, sir…" Mickey said happily. "Seeing all these couples dancing together in this castle is truly magical…"

"Well, Mickey, isn't it time we joined those couples … for our dance?"

Mickey's large round ears twitched upon hearing a voice which had whispered to him. His smile softened - as he knew it was the voice of the one he loved. The King turned to see that standing by his side with an adoring gaze directed at him - was none other than his Queen.

"Of course…" Mickey bowed and offered his hand to his beloved wife. "Let's go, Minnie!"

Queen Minnie giggled as she followed her husband onto the throne room floor. She was eager for them to join all these visitors who were dancing in their home - and she wasn't the only one.

"C'mon, Donald!" Daisy urged, pulling her feathered boyfriend by his wing. "It's time you and I had a dance too - and you'd better not step on my feet like you usually do!"

"Oh brother…" Donald quacked with a shake of his head.

Goofy chuckled, watching as his closest friends waltzed with their respective partners on the floor. He gazed around at all the pairs who were moving in rhythm to the music which filled the room. It was truly a sight to behold with all these pairs enjoying this night with the ones they loved.

There were so many legendary couples dancing in Disney Castle that night…

…from Mickey and Minnie Mouse…

…to Sora and Kairi.
