The Hunters Chief Emblem was being sold by the Messenger's the store for an outrageous amount of Blood Echoes.
It was a Key Item that would be required to progress in Yharnam. Since it was something he would return for later he might as well just buy just in case before he returned to Konohara. Such a trinket should be useful to gain access into the Healing Church and stronger enemies
He was finding so much different Cold Blood on the enemy's he took down. His Luck and Arcane had already been better then his Vitality before but now it was towering over his other stats.
So it came to no surprise that he asked Gehrman about what else Arcane was useful for. Apparently Arcane had many different uses most aspects of Arcane made use cumulative intelligence, or either making use of knowledge, such as helping in preforming rituals, math, and forgotten language's. Ritual power, Summoning, Sealing, and Alchemist Chemistry were such branches of the Arcane School. Gehrman didn't want to teach the boy anything conserning Arcane but clearly he would come across it otherwise. It didn't matter if he would forget the Nightmare in the end, so the boy could learn some basic things and stuff he should look out for.
Naruto once again improved his training, his body regularly didn't have a need to improve naturally now. His Blood Echo farm had been dramatically improved after just adding in an extra twenty points into his Arcane Stat making his luck soar as well. Fighting had been easier with all the Critical areas he Attacked and bonus Cold Blood he been pulling off of enemy's. All the Cold Blood increased his Blood Echo levels and helped boost his other stats allowing him to handle fights far more easily.
This training with Gehrman had been short yet brief though he had also unlocked some stylish Gold Chakra Chains that appeared after he began just pulling out the power of Arcane on his own. He supposed it was by byproduct of learning Arcane, it would've been a far more daunting task had his Arcane Stat been any lower. It came from a Master like Gehrman's own mourh that Naruto took to Arcane like a fish through water but he wasn't willing to teach him anything beyond the basics.
Training had plenty to do with writing, preforming calculations, knowing insightful knowledge as well as keeping away from some forbidden knowledge. Alchemy was a part of the process, magical rituals required magical item's, how to set a curse and what materials were required in cursing an object, place, or creature. What really surprised him was the usage of math in learning the art of transmutation or changing one molecular structure to another as Gehrman had put it.
It required persistent study of calculations and the understanding of how the world functioned. Ritual Circles and symbols were practiced daily and learning hard calculations where placed in the same category as cultivating ingredients.
Gehrman had taught him the formula and what extra components were needed to turn Lead into Bronze. Bringing back the dead while simple on paper was forbidden but he did learn how to completely change something like silver into a completely different shape an shape than it was. Naruto was kinda glad he was catching up to his teacher his talent and Calligraphy was Impressive and math no longer seemed to cause the young boy to struggle.
Blood was a good medium to preform rituals, it all depended on what kind of blood was used usually the blood of a rare beast or a virgin's had much better qualities. Purity was a factor, his blood was especially potent but he had been born a male. Arcane increased this purity and his own base Luck to increase the power of Arcane Tool's. But he had recently been acquiring more than one uncommon drop per enemy now that his luck was over a hundred and fourty.
He was practically a Master Alchemist that only needled to catch up with all the theoretical knowledge that Gehrman didn't know. Soon enough he would be making up his own calculations to further the art but this was just a year that Naruto spent coming to terms with reality.
When Naruto was back on the ground in Konohara he had been able to find a private training area. Naruto was always considered a clown but now he felt like he was grounded, rooted down, surefooted or confident in himself and in his skills. The nightmare's never came he was either in the dream, Yharnam, or his own waking world. Safe in the Village of Konohara he had plenty of time to not jump at every shadow, grave stone of creepy area. Hunting in Yharnam made Academy training seem dull it had already been dull when he wasn't at least sparring with a Clan Kid.
Naruto had decided to try out his insane luck near that river once again for any notable changes. At first it had been silent whispers splashing when there had been no one here but instead of illusions stealing his attention. Now Naruto didn't know what the hell he had been looking at as some strange amalgamation of Man and Turtle had sat down next to him chomping down on his fish meal.
"So kid now that you can see me, now what are you going to do?" The Turtle Man asked.
"Sorry, I don't know what you are?" Naruto asked unsure by the Green Turtle.
"Now that's a rare ability you really can see me, I thoughtit was just my imagination" It laughed. "Im a Kappa boy the King of them my name is Kuzenbo and this is my river" Kuzenbo said while laying on his elbow and scraching his leg and laying on the ground.
"Do you live here Kuzenbo?" Naruto asked looking at the kinda lazy Kappa.
"Yeah I have always lived here since before this Village even began, but mostly everyone ignores me since they can't perceive the Spiritual World" A short reply Kuzenbo said while finishing his meal.
"What in the world's a Kappa anyway and what is the Spiritual World?" Naruto asked outloud and thinking that chasing the huge green creature around would be a bad idea. Kuzenbo had green skin, moist green hair, a crown like bowl on his head that looked to be filled with water, he had many scars on his beak and skin that showed that he knew about battle.
Whatever that thing was it was very agile so it decided to just leap into the nearby water causing an enormous splash explosion and getting the boy fully wet.
"I am a Kappa im part of the Yokai species we are pretty rare especially for you humans to see and the Spiritual World are where Yokai, Spirits, and Gods like to hand out" Kuzenbo said just floating atop the water almost like water walking.
"Yokai?" Naruto asked not really understanding the concept. "Isn't the Nine Tailed Fox a type of Yokai?" Naruto asked defensively since that Yokai was considered evil.
"That Fox is pretty evil but no not all yokai are as evil as he is. He part of the Tailed Beast category, he is made entirely out of Chakra but he could just bearly be considered a Yokai. Some Yokai kind of just wander about wherever we want, sometimes you'll see us just wander about in the corner of your eye or in a secluded spot at night, some even haunt and trick people to die in abandoned buildings but oftentimes normal people don't even notice us.
"H- Haunt So you're like g- ghosts" Naruto asked aloud feeling a cold chill brush aginst his back. "Nevermind, so Kappa dude have you found any Jutsu lying around anywhere?" Naruto asked banking on his luck calming down since Ghosts were actually a thing Gehrman taught him about and Kuzenbo was made of Green flesh and Shell so he wasn't a ghost.
"Jutsu haha you want to know Jutsu well first of all my name's Kuzenbo so don't try an group us all Kappa Tribe's together like that pipsqueek. Every single Greater Yokai have unique personalities and abilities even though some of us may sometimes look similar. Your just lucky im a chill guy and you caught me on a good day, what's your dream kid that you want to know Jutsu from a Yokai?" Kuzenbo asked while grabbing another freshly caught fish to eat and munching on it.
"I want to become the greatest Hokage and end the Nightmare" Naruto shouted out.
"Hokage, Hahaha even the strongest Hokage is no match for a properly trained Yokai" Kuzenbo laughed aloud. "It took a while for him to stop laughing, Why a pipsqueek like you reminds me alot like that other brat Tobirama that I taught. But I only taught him the fundamentals of water Ninjutsu before he ran off and forgot about me once he reached past a certain age.
It took a moment for Naruto to realize Kuzenbo was talking about the Second Hokage Tobirama. "Do you think you can train like how you tought the Second" Naruto asked with big eyes.
"You know what here put this thing on and meet me inside the ring I already knew you were going to ask, So I don't mind giving you free lessons" Kuzenbo argued while hefting the large shell from out of the water and into dry land almost crushing Naruto in the process.
"What are you trying to kill me this thing it's super heavy, like I could ever put this thing on" Naruto shouted out.
"Your lucky I even had a spare shell that I let you train inside in the first place, so stop complaining before I take back my offer to train you" Kuzenbo said bringing the rice and drawing a circle in the ground.
They both stood on opposite sides of the ring before they threw rice then began. Naruto layed down in pain after another moment of not concentrating on his opponent. "Kappa were apparently really good at Sumo Wrestling but he wanted to learn Jutsu not Sumo" Naruto thought frustrated at being knocked down some more again. "Im not really intrested in Sumo im going to be a Ninja so I won't be preforming honorable matches or dueling fairly. Im way more intrested in Jutsu. Im going to be the Hokage of this village so it going to be up to me to protect everyone including you.
Besides my other teacher said if I didn't feel comfortable fighting a certain way than I should stop so I don't think this is worth learning. Im not going to be able to protect people if I don't learn some Jutsu" Naruto said aloud about to leave.
"What a lousy teacher he told you that did he even teach you a style or did he just stop you from learning a style. Kids are like trees the stronger their roots the stronger they are going to grow so it would be best thet they experience everything from Sumo to all Chakra Elements. Show me every one of your known Kata right now and let me judge if his advice was worth listening to" Kuzenbo angrily demanded.
Naruto was able to recall what his Sensei taught him back at the Shinobi Academy and showed Kuzinbou. "Wow I can see why he said that now, that really was terrible kid what the hell have they been teaching you kid's nowadays" Kuzenbo said thinking thing'sover again. "let me tell you this Naruto having a Style can make you strong as hell but the one you know was complete trash I cant believe they taught you that. Look you really need a style as going Gung Ho into battle does sound very badass but facing an enemy with something so formless can easily get you killed as well when you don't have the proper practice necessary to pull off something more structured. Have you ever heard of muscle memory when your tired your body will fight for you even when you dont have the required stamina. Train with me more and you'll hone your body in order to turn it into a weapon capable of fighting even when your asleep" Kuzenbo said while getting into a ready stance again.
"How about this you said you wanted to learn Jutsu, right didn't you" Kuzenbo said while picking his ear and flicking some water away. "Well I might've heard something entirely different. I'll teach you Jutsu but only if you get me a Salted Cucumber with lemon. That should be a good trade wouldn't it one Cucumber for some one of my Yokai Jutsu you ought to understand why, It's my favorite food after all don't you have a favorite food as well" Kuzenbo asked Naruto.
Naruto did understand the importance of having a favorite food, he also had a favorite food as well predictability it was Ramen the Food of the God's form Ichiraku's.
This guy liked crunchy Cucumber with salt and lemon. Just as he was about to take off the shell Kuzenbo interrupted him. "Keep the shell on while you try to find my Cucumber. Forget I said that but keep the shell on It will help you grow stronger without even trying.
"How the hell am I supposed to wear that thing and look for your Cucumber" Naruto shouted looking at the slimy shell in front of him.
"Don't say it that way, first of all im not teaching you or anyone anything unless you wear a thick shell like mine so keep this thing on boy or else I'll fail you" Kuzenbo said while patting the heavy Orange shell on Naruto's back. Your very lucky I still had one, it belonged to my brother Orinjiiro" Kuzenbo had said with a look of sadness.
Your very lucky since this Magic Shell increases in weight the longer it's in use. The absolute highest I seen it go was around one hundred million tons but who knows what's it's capable of now. Human eye's of regular humans won't be able to notice that it's even on you. If they look at you they'll just see you struggling to move. It even works as a second place to call home if you curl up into a ball. Just try to be careful of it's feelings and fickle personality it knows when your in danger so it may or may not release the weight on command but it also just slides right off.
Woah this thing is heavy but Kuzenbo was right nobody did notice it. The shell disappeared from view to anyone that didn't have insight. I don't think that shell suits my style it has a watery smell but it was excellent training it even just sticks on his back.
Naruto tried to run around in search of such a special and rare item. But not a single store was selling any Cucumbers his heavy weight had dramatically weighed him down where he couldn't even run down the street normally. Just as he noticed a store down the street selling Cucumbers for a discounted half off did a horde of women croud around and get in the way and buy every last one. He spent the entire day trying to get a single Cucumber and just as it was nearing afternoon did Ayame find him after her shopping trip. "What's wrong Naruto, you look really exhausted and sweaty" Ayame said while looking at the boy completely drenched in sweat.
"It's nothing Ayame Nii, I got tired looking for a Cucumber. It's a part of my training but I ran all across the town and couldn't get a hold of one" Naruto answered Ayame and sweating.
"If that's all you can have one of mine" she said while pulling out one from her bag. "Just remember not to tell your new Sensei I helped you out, I don't want to get into trouble.
"Thank you Ayame your a real lifesaver" Naruto replied thankfully running back to the Training Ground.
"These Ninja Village's mostly have you specialise in a single elemental Affinity, then when your all grown and stuff your old body won't have any extra room to grow used any other new element. Just think of all the Kage in their old age the lightning kage won't be training to preform Water Ninjutsu. Sure you might be better at a certain element than another but that's used mainly for Specialized Cannon Fodder. Your going to be decent at all element types because paper covers rock and rock smashes kunai and all that.
My advice is for you to have a decent understanding of basic Jutsu that you'll use often but I can definitely tell your a Chakra Monster. That's why I am going to train you in learning all Great Breakthroughs from all five basic elements to start off. Your going to have them and get good at them because sometimes your going to need to shoot out a Water ball instead of a Fire ball and practice them until they are another part of your body's natural responses.
So until you can demonstrate a perfect Great Waterball Jutsu, A Great Wind Breakthrough, A Great Fireball, A Great Landslide, And a Great Lighting Current and Im not sending you to your next teacher how to use Jutsu.
There are even better Yokai Teachers out there but if you can't even do this much it will be a waste of their time and mine.
Great Waterball, Great Fireball and Great Wind Breakthrough are the normal versions of watered down abilities that humans copied from us in the past when they were more powerful and insightful. On the bright side if you can't learn any of that. I can also teach you how to pull a really mean fart in the middle of combat" Kuzenbo began teaching him all the techniques one by one
"No that's enough that's alright Jutsu's just fine, he didn't need to learn any hidden technique" Naruto said already practicing with Water.
"Good, good your an excellent study. Great Landslide loosens up the soil or snow on a mountain while Great Lighting Current was a Jutsu that needed contact like Smoked Eels some of his favorite food.
Now your a kid so you still got some growing to do and practicing Jutsu not of your main affinity will help you control that element better later down the line.
Im doing this cause you have potential Naruto, Just be careful out there now that you can see Yokai, they will probably want to hunt you down just for noticing them eating negative energy around. Some of them will even need to be put down because they are so dangerous but sometimes all they want is a good fight. During the day there won't be as many Greater Yokai but during the night many Greater Yokai seem to go out and conduct their business.
Now enough of learning Jutsu you can practice on your own later. Let's get back into learning Sumo now that I taught you the basic five since Mastery is more likely to save your life. But just remember to keep training if you and ever want to come back just to challenge me just return and I'll teach you more of my style if you gotten good enough. Or if you want you can leave and practice on your own now that you gotten all of the basic moves down. I'll always be ready to test weather or not you been doing homework or not Kapa Kapa" Kuzenbo laughed.
Year one is over Im going to overpower him at this rate, I think he is now in his second year at the Academy the Uchiha Massacre still hasn't happened yet.
Sorry short chapter AN Spoilers Notes ahead : Writing Yokai is hard, I might think of new Yokai, This is kinda based off of a few games I have been playing, try to guess which while I write the the next chapter in Yharnam but I may be working on something else, Naruto can only see lesser Yokai Characters for now since his Insight is two or three, Power Scaling and adding a Yokai Realm in Elemental Nations just seemed natural, Now Calculating for hidden doorways Fuinjutsu and greater insight, Larger Map, Yharnam Beast's, Deities, Dragons, Great Ones, Rom the Vacuous Spider.
Sorry just a note wondering if it's a good change how I should balance this and if in the end. The ending where he turns into a Great One what will happen. Will he own the Dream and gain Cosmic Powers capable of traveling dimensions. Bloodborne Themes will he want rest like other Great Ones or become the next Hokage. Im not watching Boruto thinking, Next chapter is in Yharnam Save the girl? This story got popular so sorry if I take time since I usually write only to get better at writing concepts this time it was Yokai since Yokai are rare and hard to write.
