Chapter 18: The Acceptance of Love
After days of turmoil and controversy, calm began to return to Hope Valle. The malicious gossip gradually gave way to supportive solidarity, especially on the part of the children, who were more than ever on the side of their beloved teacher, Elizabeth.
This show of support and loyalty from the students did not go unnoticed by Jack. He watched closely as the children rallied to Elizabeth's defense, showing a strength and determination that deeply inspired the mountie's heart.
It was in this moment of reflection that Jack realized the importance of fighting for what you love, of taking steps to make peace and restore the bonds that have been shaken. The mountie went out of his way to make the atmosphere welcoming and comforting. He took a simple meal from the café made by Abigail, but prepared it with care, and set the table with care, placing candles to create a peaceful and cozy atmosphere, as well as flowers that he had picked on his morning rounds...that student, Rosalen Sulivam was very clever, the girl told him that those white and lilac asters were her teacher's favorites.
When Elizabeth arrived at the police station that evening, she was greeted by Jack's warm smile and the welcoming atmosphere he had prepared. She felt a mixture of emotions as she accepted the invitation, including gratitude, hope and a twinge of nervousness about what was to come.
As they shared their meal together, Jack and Elizabeth immersed themselves in sincere and meaningful conversation. They discussed recent events, shared their concerns and hopes for the future, and opened their hearts to each other in a way that only adversity can allow.

Jack takes a deep breath and takes courage;

- Jack, I accept. I'm willing to give love a chance, and I can't think of anyone I'd rather embark on this journey with than you.
Their gazes deepen, as if they were plunging into an ocean of mutual feelings.
