Episode 12: The Trials of Madera
In Madera Castle Town, Diego and Natalie entered.
Diego: I'm going to stop Team Rocket no matter what! Natalie, let's go after them!
Natalie (OC): Okay. Those three won't get away with their actions!
They approached the Maderan guards.
Maderan Guard: There are only a few enemies near the forest entrance. Carefully escort Amy there please.
Diego: Okay. Natalie, let's do this!
Natalie (OC): Right!
They begin to escort Amy to the forest entrance, but a bunch of Team Rocket grunts and their Pokémon blocked their path.
Amy: Ah! Help!
Diego: Natalie, let's take these creeps out!
Natalie (OC): Okay!
They they prepare to battle.

Ash and his friends are following the bishop to their location for Ash's trials.
Brock: I wonder what kind of trials you'll be facing.
Ash: Well, whatever trials I'll have to do, I'll complete them.
Max: We're rooting for you, Ash.
May: Yeah. Go for it!
Ash: I will.
Brock: Those trials could be hard, but we're counting on you.
Ash: Thanks for your support, Guys.
Max: You're welcome.
They then made it to the entrance of the ancient castle.
May: Wow. This place has an ancient castle.
Max: You're acting like you've never seen a castle before.
May: Oh shut up.
Bishop: Okay. For your trials, you must approach the priests.
Ash: Okay. (He approaches the priests.) I'm ready for the trials.
Priest 1: Okay. Your first trial is the Test of Intelligence. It may be hard for you, but are you ready to take it?
Ash: Sure! I'll do it!
Priest 1: Okay. Let's do it. And for this test, there are five paths that will lead back here. If you choose the correct paths that lead back head, you pass. But you must do it without Pikachu.
Ash: Okay.
Brock: I'll hold on to Pikachu. You go and do the trial.
Ash: Okay. Wish me luck!
He goes into the forest.

Ash's first Madera Trial begins. He then looks for the sign that had two paths. He took the left path and it was the correct one. Ash then made it to the next part. He then chose the right path and he made it to the third part.
Ash: Okay. Only three left. Let's do this!
He then made it to sign three. He took the right path. He then made it to sign four. He took the left path. And the final sign. He took the left path. He then made it to the end of the forest where the priests were.
Priest 1: Congratulations. You passed the trial.
Ash: Alright!
Brock: Way to go, Ash!
Max: Yeah. You did really good.
Ash: Thanks.
May: That trial wasn't so hard.
Ash: Okay. Bring on the next trial!
They are back inside the woods.
Priest 2: Ash, this is the Trial of Courage. For this trial, you must defeat 100 Pokémon in these woods by only using one of your Pokémon. If your Pokémon is defeated, you will fail this trial and you have to do the first trial again.
Ash: Okay. That shouldn't be too hard. (Pikachu approaches him.) You wanna go for it, Pikachu?
Pikachu: (Determined) Pika Pika!
Ash: Okay. Let's pass this trial, Partner!
Priest 2: Let the Trial begin!
(Play Town Mission 4 from Sonic 06 for the rest of this section.)
The first 50 Pokémon, mostly flying types charged at them.
Ash: Pikachu, use Thunderbolt! (Pikachu thunderbolts them all at once and they are instantly defeated. And then more Pokémon charged at them. Pikachu uses its strongest moves on the Pokémon charging at them. They continue to battle all the Pokémon until they defeated 99. The final Pokémon was an Primeape. It then charged at them.) Pikachu, use Thunderbolt again!
Pikachu thunderbolts Primeape and defeats it.
Priest 2: You pass!
Ash: Alright!
Ash is about to do the final trial.
Priest 3: You will do the Test of Love. Don't worry. It's going to be an easy one. All you have to do is choose which one of the two lovers is your true love. It doesn't matter which one you choose. You will pass regardless.
Ash: Okay. I can do that.
Brock: I already know who my true love is.
Max: Who is it, Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny?
Brock was then upset.
Brock: Way to crush my spirits.
Priest 3: Hey you.
May: Who me?
Priest 3: Yeah. You're one of the choices.
The quad, Pikachu and Munchlax were shocked.
Max: So my sister is one of the choices for this trial?
Brock: Looks like it.
May: Why am I one of the choices?! I'm not his girlfriend!
Max: Yeah, because you secretly love Drew.
May: Hey Max. How about you shut your fucking mouth for once?!
Max: Okay! Jeez! By the way, I'm telling mom and dad about that F bomb you dropped.
May: Please don't.
Ash: So who will be my other choice: Misty?
Priest 3: No. For your other choice...
Princess Amelia approached them, but she was a hologram.
Max: I thought she was captured. How did you get her back?
May: That's a hologram, you idiot!
Priest 3: Yeah. The real Princess is still captured.
Max: Oh...
Priest 3: Yeah. May, stand next to the hologram of our princess. (She walks towards the hologram and stands next to her.) Ash, which one will you choose? It doesn't matter who you choose. You will still pass regardless.
Ash: Okay. But it's gonna be a tough one.
Brock: Ash, just choose one and you pass. It's not gonna be that hard.
Max: Yeah. And honestly, if I were you, I would definitely choose the Princess because May isn't even all that pretty compared to her.
May furiously punches Max, which is not shown due a yellow background with blue stars censoring it. It then cuts back to Max laying on his back having Spindra eyes with his mouth wide open. Ash and Brock were holding her back while she was extremely angry.
May: SO YOU DON'T THINK I'M PRETTY?!!! SOME BROTHER YOU ARE!!!
Brock: May, chill! I'm sure he was just kidding!
May: He said I was not pretty! Do you know how hurt I am because of what he just said?!
Max got up.
Max: Ow! You didn't have to hit me!
May: Yes it did!
Priest 3: Okay! We are wasting time! You, kid with the glasses, apologize to your sister!
Max: Okay! May, I'm sorry for saying you're not pretty. I was just stating my opinion.
May: Fine. And I'm sorry for hitting you. But that won't stop me from telling mom and dad about what you said.
Max: Please don't tell them.
Priest 3: Anyways... Ash, who will you choose?
Ash: May! I choose May, only because I don't want to make her even more mad.
May: See Max, at least someone thinks I'm pretty!
Max: Yeah. Whatever. Since Ash chose my sister, does he pass?
Priest 3: Yes. Congratulations Ash. You have passed all the trials of Madera. A Pidgeot will fly you to the ancient castle.
Max: Will we go with him?
Priest 1: No.
Ash: Aw man. I could use some help.
Brock: Ash, you have a job to do. Go save the Princess before the battleship explodes.
May: Wait. The battleship's gonna explode?!
Max: Yeah. We learned how it happened when Team Rocket sent us to the future. Anyways, Ash. We're counting on you.
Ash: Thanks Guys.
Max: You're welcome. Now go stop Team Rocket and save the Princess!
Ash: Okay! Pikachu, let's go!
Pikachu nods and he and Ash get on Pidgeot and it flies them to Kingdom Valley.
Back in Madera Castle Town, Diego managed to defeat all of Team Rocket's minions and escorted Amy to the forest gate.
Diego: There. We did it.
Bishop: Good job on escorting Amy.
Diego: Thanks. Now I can go find Ash to help him, right?
Bishop: Yeah, but first, you have to do three trials. In fact, Ash has already finished his trials. Now you can go.
Diego: Okay. Come on Natalie.
She nods and they head to the forest.

Diego and Natalie began to run to find the priests.
Diego: If we hurry, we can find Ash and help him save the Princess.
Natalie (OC): Right!
They then made it to their location when...
May: HEY!!!
They stopped and noticed her.
Diego: May? What are you...
May: What do you think you're doing?! Trying to kill Ash again?!
Diego: No! Look. Just let me explain. I just realized that he wasn't the cause of the destruction of my world and I just realized that...
May: No! I won't let you go after Ash! You're just making up excuses just so you could kill him!
Max: Sis, please calm down.
May: Don't tell me to calm down! The last time I saw him, he was trying to kill Ash! Why should we trust him?!
Brock: Maybe he feels guilty for what he tried to do to Ash and wants to help him save the Princess.
May: Yeah right! Diego, I don't want you anywhere near my friend again!
Bishop: May, stop! He's telling the truth! I see it in his heart that he wants to stop Team Rocket and save our sovereign. Look, I know you're still angry about what he tried to do to Ash, but getting mad won't help.
May: Fine. But I still don't trust him.
Bishop: It's fine. You don't have to trust him if you don't want to. And Diego, follow me to the alter where the priests are at.
He does so and Diego approaches the first priest.
Priest 1: Diego, your first trial is called the Trial of Friendship. For this trial, we are gonna put Natalie in a cage, and you must defeat 25 Pokémon with only one of your Pokémon. If you manage to defeat all 25 without your Pokémon being unable to battle and save Natalie, you will pass.
Diego: Okay. But putting my best friend in the cage?
Natalie (OC): Diego, I'll be fine. Just do the trial.
Diego: But...
Natalie (OC): You got this.
Diego: Okay.
A big cage was being rolled out by the other priests.
Natalie (OC): Diego, good luck.
She gets in the cage and 25 Pokémon exit the forest and Diego is about to face them.
Diego: Come on out, Altaria!
Altaria is out of its Pokéball.
Priest 1: Let the trial begin!
(Play Town Mission 4 from Sonic 06 again for the rest of this section.)
Diego: Altaria, use Dragon Pulse!
Altaria then uses Dragon Pulse to defeat several Pokémon at once.
Max: Damn! That is one powerful Altaria.
May: Watch your mouth, Mister. This is a family show!
Max: Didn't you just drop an F-bomb a little while ago?
May: Oh yeah...
Brock: Just move on from it.
May: Fine, but we're washing each other's mouths out with soap when we get back to the castle town hotel.
Max: The taste of soap is really gross...
Diego: Altaria, use Ice Beam!
Altaria uses Ice Beam to defeat more Pokémon. After that, they were down to one last Pokémon, which is a Raichu. Raichu was about to thunderbolt Altaria when Altaria uses Dragon Pulse again and Raichu was sent to a wall and defeated. Diego then let Natalie out of the cage.
Natalie (OC): Thanks Diego.
She sees the defeated Raichu and approached it.
Diego: Are you gonna try to catch it?
Natalie (OC): Yes. With a Pokémon like this, we can defeat the god of destruction in our future.
She pulls out one of her empty Pokéballs and puts Raichu inside it.
Diego: Congratulations. You caught a Raichu!
Natalie (OC): Yeah. I did.
Max: That girl just caught a Raichu.
Diego: Looks like I gotta heal it up.
After she releases Raichu, Diego begins to nurse it using a super potion.
Max: Wait a second.
Max begins to walk towards them.
May: Max, what are you doing?!
Max approached them.
Max: Hey. I have a question. That future where all the buildings are destroyed and the lava is everywhere. Is that your future?
Diego: Yeah Kid. Why do you ask?
Max: Brock, Ash and I were sent there by Team Rocket.
Diego: Really?
Max: Yeah. Also, what happened to all the Pokémon centers in the future? Were they destroyed as well?
Diego: Yes. That's why I nurse all of my Pokémon to health.
Max: I see. But I have more questions. How come you...
May grabs Max's ear and begins to drag him away.
May: Alright, Mister! You're done talking to this asshole!
Max: Ow! Hey! Let go of my ear!
Diego: Past people.
Natalie (OC): Tell me about it.
Diego is about to do another trial.
Priest 2: Diego, your second trial is the Test of Memory. This will be an easy one, so are you ready?
Diego: Yes I am.
Priest 2: Okay. All you have to do is ask three questions. If you get them all correct, you pass.
Diego: Okay. Let's do this!
They are in the part of the forest with a pond. Two signs show the answers. The right one has mission and the left sign says escape.
Priest 2: First question. What comes to mind with the words "future", "inferno", and "ruined city"? If you think "mission", spin the right sign. If you think "escape", spin the left sign.
Diego: Okay. Let's do this! (He approaches the left sign and spins it.) Escape!
Priest 2: Correct!
Diego: Alright!
They are now at the bridge that leads to a building close to the old castle. There are two signs that show the answers. The right signs says Princess Amelia and the left sign says Natalie.
Priest 2: Okay Diego. Next question. What comes to mind with the words "Flames of Disaster," "seal," and "five years ago"? For "Princess Amelia," go right. For "Natalie," go left.
Diego goes approaches the right sign and spins it.
Diego: Princess Amelia.
Priest 2: Correct! On to the final question!
They are in the forest for the final question. There are two signs with the answers. The right sign says hatred and the left sign says teamwork.
Priest 2: Final question. What comes to mind with the words "boy with the Pikachu"? For "hatred", spin the right sign. For "teamwork", spin the left sign.
Diego approaches the left sign and spins it.
Diego: Teamwork!
Priest 2: Congratulations. You have passed the trial!
Diego: Yes!
Diego is back at the alter and is about to do the final trial.
Priest 3: Diego, your final trial is the Test of Heart. All you have to do is defeat all of Madera's priests while they are dressed up as Team Rocket grunts and their Pokémon with only one Pokémon and using only one move. And don't worry, the priests are good guys. They are only wearing the outfits for your trial.
Diego: Okay. Altaria is still tired from that battle, so maybe... I gotta do this. Come on out, Ivysaur!
Ivysaur is released from its Pokéball.
Max: Cool. He has an Ivysaur.
May: I just hope Ash is alright after his trials.
Brock: Don't worry. Ash will be okay and when we see him, he'll be back with the Princess. But this Diego person is determined to help him.
Diego: Ivysaur, use Solar Beam!
Ivysaur begins to use Solar Beam on all the Pokémon. One of the water types charged at Ivysaur, but Ivysaur uses Solar Beam again to defeat them.
Max: That was a great move. Grass types are always strong against water types.
May: There are still more Pokémon he has to defeat.
Many of the Pokémon have been defeated. There are two more Pokémon left and they are Charizard and Blaziken. They are charging towards Ivysaur.
Diego: Ivysaur, dodge the attacks!
Ivysaur dodges the attacks and both Pokémon ended up crashing into the mountain wall. Ivysaur uses Solar Beam one last time to defeat them.
Priest 3: You pass the trial!
Diego: Yeah!
A Pidgeot is about to take Diego to the old castle.
Diego: Thanks for everything.
Priest 1: You're welcome. Now go save our Princess.
He smiles and Pidgeot flies him to the old castle. However, they didn't notice that Natalie was on her Skarmory following them.
Natalie (OC): Diego, let's do this!
Diego: Yeah!
They continued to fly to the old castle.
