Surprise! So, I injured myself falling down a flight of steps yesterday on my way back from work. Now my arms and legs are a swollen purple and green mess, leaving me unable to walk or go to work. But that left my day completely free to write! I was excited about this chapter, I had alot of it already written when I started writing this story months ago, so it was quick and easy. Hope you enjoy the quick update!

Brooke's eyes widened when she saw Peyton. Peyton too was shocked. She saw kids running around everywhere. It was obvious that she had crashed a kid's birthday party. She saw Brooke and then she saw that she was standing exceptionally close to Lucas. Then her eyes suddenly caught something sparkling on Brooke's left finger and Peyton knew. She just knew. Her world came crashing down.

"What, you dont wait 5 minutes after you propsed to me to hook up with my best friend! What kind of friends are you!" she screamed.

Hearing the scream, Jamie and Sam turned around from where they were as they walked to the gifts table and ran back.

"Mummy, what's wrong?" Jamie asked, clutching Brooke's legs. Peyton's eyes widened again when she saw Jamie as another involuntary scream escaped her lips.

"Oh my God! The call was for him, wasn't it? It was real!?" she yelled.

"What? What call?" Lucas asked.

"A couple of years ago. In our first year at college. I was here on break and we were spending time with each other. There was a missed call on your answering machine with a voice mail from the hospital. I remember it, it said that Mr. Scott, your girlfriend is having her baby and she is not doing well. She has eclampsia and she is haemmoraging. She listed you down as her emergency contact. She has had the baby. Please get to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital immediately. And I thought that they had the wrong Lucas Scott because I was your girlfriend and I was not pregnant or dying. I called them back, told them that they had the wrong number and it never came up again," she said in a state of utter shock.

"What! How could you have not mentioned it?" Lucas asked. He yelled so loundly that all the guests from the party walked to where they were standing in the foyer to watch what was happening. Yet none of them paid attention to the people. Brooke was in a state of shock that Peyton was there, that she had seen Jamie and known about him. Lucas was hurt because he could have known, he could have known about Jamie only if he had answered that call instead of spending all his time with Peyton.

"Bceuase I did not think of you to be a cheater," Peyton replied to Lucas' daring accusation.

Brooke couldn't help but let out a snort as Peyton said that. They had after all, cheated on her not once, but twice. "Really Peyton?"

Peyton didn't know what to say to that because she knew what she had done, what they had both done. "I did not think you would be a cheater," she said emphasising on the you as she tried to wound Brooke with her words.

"Hey!" Brooke said and started walking towards Peyton but Lucas beat her too it. He grabbed Peyton's hand and pulled her out of the house.

Suddenly, Brooke got very aware of her surroundings. Everyone had watched the encounter. All of Jamie's classmates, their parents, their friends and family and worst of all, Lorelai.

"Im so sorry," she said to the social worker, trying to salvage the situation. "She is Lucas' ex. Very bitter about it as you can see. They were broken up when we got together when I got pregnant. Really, I promise, but we knew that she wouldn't take the news of the kid and the engagement well, so we kept all the news from her. She lives in LA. we dont see her often."

"Oh, okay," replied Lorelai as she scribbled something on her legal pad. She didn't say anything more, she just kept quiet.

Please don't let Peyton affect you. High School can be complicated but that's over. Lucas and I want Sam to be a part of our family and I really think that she is happy here. I want Samantha to not feel temporary. I need her to know she is loved and valued. Please," Brooke begged. Sam had been as quiet as a doormouse through the entire ordeal. She was so afraid by what had just happened. Peyton did not know what a life or death situation she was in.

"Miss Davis, right now, you have too many people around that you need to attend to. We will have to reschedule. I have more questions now," Lorelai replied and grabbed her things.

"I'm really sorry about this. We didn't know she was coming by. She is just upset because Lucas and her had a really bad breakup and yeah, you know, I was in New York and Lucas was here and she was in LA. Really," Brooke rambled her story again and led the social worker to the door.

Once she had left, Brooke ran outside to where Lucas was. "Peyton almost killed us! Where is she?" Brooke asked once she was outside.

"I don't know. She just ran away and I called out to her for her to stop and talk, but she didn't even look back. She could be anywhere," he said.

"I know where she is. Lorelai left. She said she will reschedule. You deal with what's inside. I'm going to her," Brooke said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I have to be the one to talk to her," she replied and just like Peyton, she walked away without a second glance.

Brooke made her way quickly and precisely to the spot Peyton would be at. It was the space she had found her in when her mom had died - under the bridge. It was the spoet Peyton went to when she was sad. It was the spot she went to to cry and vent and grieve.

Brooke reached the bridge and took the dirt road to the ledge. It felt so much narrower now than it had when they were little. She could see Peyton sitting with her feet dangling down to face the river. Salty tears brimmed down her cheeks as she gripped the ledge and tried to control the hurt and betrayal she felt.

"Hi Peyton," Brooke said and sat down beside her.

"When did this happen? When did you and Lucas get together and make a baby?" she asked, cutting straight to the chase without so much as a glance in Brooke's direction.

"After you broke up with him on graduation night. It was a drunk and stupid mistake. Im sorry," she said straight-forwardly.

"What! We had barely been broken up for minutes!" she yelled.

"I know. I am so sorry. I still feel guilt and shame about that. Trust me, karma has been taking its revenge on me ever since," Brooke replied. It felt so hard to get the words out. Her voice was strained and her emotions were really getting the best of her, but she knew that that was not the time to get hysterical. She had to explain her reality to Peyton and hope, just hope that she would be on her side regarding matters that concerned Sam.

"So, it's a repeat of the sex tape incident with Nathan! What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you do that to me, again! Didn't my punch teach you anything?"

"Trust me, ever since I got to know that I was pregnant, I have been feeling that punch every single day. I promise you," Brooke replied.

"And what the heck is up with Lucas! He kept this from me and proposed to me! What!" Peyton asked, not understand. "You do know that he proposed to me, right?"

"Yes, I know that he proposed to you. Uhh, Lucas didn't know that I had his baby until after your proposal. In fact, he learnt about Jamie the night after your proposal. I was living in New York and he bumped into me there while I was with my son and it's not hard to put two and two together after that. I mean Jamie is a spitting image of Lucas," she tried to explain.

"So what, now the two of you are engaged and planning a happily ever after?" she asked spitefully.

"What no! Not at all. He is still yours!" she said quickly.

"Brooke, what the heck do you even mean by that? I came here for you! I came running to Tree Hill, this place that gives me grief for you. Bevin butt dialled me accidentally and I called her back. So we began to catch up and she told me that you were back, living at your house with a cute boy. Now, I realise she probably said your cute boy- your son. I hadn't heard from you in years, Brooke. Years! So I took some days off and flew down here. I did not think I would find you engaged to Lucas with a child! What the hell!"

"Okay. Let me explain. First off, I am so so so so so very sorry. I have no intentions of coming between you and Lucas. We are not really engaged. It's fake. He is yours, the ring is yours. I am sorry," she said, pulling the silver band off her finger and offering it to Peyton.

She looked it it hesitantly, but made no move to take it from her, let alone put it on. Brooke sighed and clutched it, but neither she wore the ring.

"What do you mean fake?" Peyton asked, intrigue got the best of her and her voice softened a bit. "Why do you have it?"

"Lucas and I needed to pretend to be be engaged so that I could adopt Sam. Sam is the teenager you saw in the house. The brunette who was holding Jamie's hand. Sam is my foster daughter and I love her and I want to adopt her. She lived with me in New York, illegally and Lucas wanted us to move here but Sam couldn't cross state lines without me getting charged for kidnapping. I, uhh, I did not have a good source of income in New York and the foster system is complex. I would never pass the house check or anything to keep her. Social Services would never let me have her and I - I -I love Sam. She is mine. She was living with me secretly in New York and we were happy, but when Lucas got to know about Jamie, it was best if we moved to Tree Hill. He deserved to be close to him and I couldn't keep Jamie away from his dad anymore. I did what was best for my child. Trust me Peyton, it was only for Jamie. I never wanted to come back here. Anyway, I couldnt cross state lines with Sam without breaking a dozen laws. So we needed to get her custody. I had shit credit and Lucas had a decent credit score, but he is a guy only 7 years older than her. He would be charged for being a paedophile. The only way to get her was if we were together, a unit, a happy family. So Lucas gave me your ring. It's the only way it works. I am telling you this despite knowing that you can go to the social workers' office and lay the truth and get Sam taken away from me, but I really hope that you understand. I really had no choice, Peyton. I kept Jamie from Lucas so that the two of you could have the Naley fairytale life. I never meant to cause a rift in your relationship but at the same time, I don't regret Jamie. Not even for a moment. He is the best thing to ever happen in my life."

Peyton continued to cry as she processed Brooke's story. "But Brooke, you cheated with him. You knew exactly how it felt."

"No Peyton. I did not. You broke up with Lucas. You said goodbye to him and that it was best if you broke up and avoid all the long distance heartbreak and drama. Was what I did right? No! Absolutely not! But did I cheat? No." she defended herself.

"We werent even broken up 5 minutes!"

"I do regret that, Peyton. I know that hiding behind the excuse that I was really drunk and really scared for the future and hurting because Chase basically called me a slut and broke up with me is not ideal. I am truly sorry about it. I wish it didnt happen, but then I wouldnt have Jamie and that kid lights up my life. He is the only reason that I want to live." Brooke did not know how much of that Peyton would understand, but it was true to her. Her time at the club, those sickening blowjobs, had made her want to overdose on drugs and never wake up. But Jamie had. It was that simple. She would never leave him as long as she could help it.

"I'm sorry Peyton. I know that you werent looking at Lucas being a father to be one of your road blocks in your happy ending. But, I cant keep the two away from each other. It is not right to either of them. Jamie deserves to have a father and Lucas deserves to know his son. We are just going to have to figure a system out. Besides, just meet him. You will fall in love with him too," she said. Her son had an infinite capacity to love and Peyton was not immune to it either.

Peyton remained silent for a few minutes as she processed the information that had been laid out in front of her. Brooke continued to watch her with tears of her own turning her eyes red.

"Can I tell you something? More than anything, even more than Lucas, I have missed you! I came to Tree Hill to see you. You changed your number in New York. I did not have an address. I had no way to get in touch with you. I was so hurt and upset. I didn't know what to do! I knew you were with Victoria expanding Clothes over Bro's, but I wanted to talk to you. I wanted you back!"

"Victoria kicked me to the curb the second she found out about Jamie. I lost Clothes Over Bro's. It's just been me and my kids until you were stupid enough to say no to Lucas!"

"Listen, that is complicated too. For now, can I please just have have you back? I missed you so much and I really need my best friend. I just found out the guy I had been dating on and off has a child and so did my best friend and she never told me about it! I need my best friend to vent it all out to," Peyton cried.

Brooke burst out laughing while crying as she flung her arms around Peyton and hugged her tightly.

"We will be okay, right, Peyton? We will figure everything out, right?"

"Yes, B. Davis. We will," she assured her.

"Here, the ring?" she asked, trying to hand it over to her best friend again. "It's the one that he proposed to you with. It's the ring Keith gave to Karen."

"No, you should keep it. Keep your facade going. I meant it when I said I didnt want to marry him." Peyton replied.

"But why! I mean seriously! It's so baffling, I get that proposals can be scary and we are young, but, really?" Brooke asked, not understanding her best friend's actions in the least.

"I had more reasons to say no, Brooke," she replied secretively.

"Which were…?" Brooke tried to push her to open up about herself.

"I was dating somebody else in LA…."

"What! Brooke yelled, smacking her shoulders. "You could have started with that! I felt so guilty! Wait, does that mean that you are really over Lucas?"

"Hey! You two hid the fact that you had a baby from me. My feelings were just. And… I guess yeah. With Lucas it was all, tragedy seems to be my best friend and I constantly need saving and Lucas with his hero instincts is the one doing that. I guess I realised I loved the hero more than the boy. This other one is just light and fun. We actually laugh. I havent drawn a painful death misery drawing in months."

"Whoa! Emo Peyton is the only Peyton I know," Brooke laughed.

"You took the reigns to that, so I have been filling in for Sunshine Brooke!"

"Peyton, I really am terribly sorry," she said once more apologetically.

"I am not going to lie. I will take some time getting used to the fact that Lucas and you have a child together. I really did love him. But, I also can't wait to meet my nephew and spoil him rotten," she sighed.

"Did you know that youre truly amazing?" Brooke said, admiring her best friend. She had expected everything to go so badly, but Peyton was being very kind.

"You might have mentioned that on occasion," Peyton joked.

"Good, because telling you was scarier than telling Lucas. I was so scared of telling you, Peyton. I could deal with Lucas cutting me out of his life and never wanting to see me again, but I could not bear it if you did that. So, I kept Jamie from both of you. I really didn't want to upturn your life. I am so sorry. I really do feel very guilty about everything," she said as a fresh batch of tears trailed down her eyes.

"Why Brooke. Yes, I would initially be hurt. Of course I would. But, I would come around. I mean we have been through so much together. Did you really think that I would abandon you and your child?" she accused.

"I'm sorry but I did not know what to think. I was so angry and upset when you and Lucas cheated on me and now I was going to have Lucas' baby. Come on. I really wanted you and Lucas to be happy together. Never did I dream that you would date someone else," she expressed.

"Also, thinking back on that phone call. The way the doctor's described it… the haemorraging and everything. Did that really happen?"

"Yes," Brooke whispered.

"Oh my God. I am so sorry. I am so very sorry. I really thought that it was a wrong number. I would never have otherwise. Lucas and I would have driven down to New York and been there for you and the baby. Really. My God!"

"Yeah, I was all alone. It was scary, I am not going to lie. The last four years in New York have been tough. It's funny. It's been exactly three years to that phone call today."

"Yeah, was that your kid's birthday party that I crashed?" Peyton asked.

"Oh you crashed a lot more than that. The lady that we were talking to, that was Sam's Social Worker. She was doing an evaluation, our very first one. I really hope that she doesn't take Sam away from us. She said she'll reschedule the visit."

"Oh my God! I am so very sorry. I mean, I didn't know!"she said.

"Now help us rectify the mess when she reschedules," she begged.

"I promise," she said.

"So wait, you and Lucas really aren't together?"

"Mm mm," she replied, shaking her head no.

"But why?" she laughed.

"Lucas proposed to you! He doesn't want to be with me!" Brooke laughed.

"Well, I said no and I mean it, this isn't like last time. I'm very happy with my new boyfriend," Peyton said. She coin't say it without her face cracking into a wide smile.

"He makes you that happy, huh?" Brooke asked.

"Yes, he really does," she admitted. "For the first time, nothing is weighing down on my shoulders. It's happy and fun and even my music is more pop these days. I look forward to coming home from my crummy job because I get to come home to his face. Both our jobs require us to put in really long hours, I mean, it's LA. So we are both understanding of it. When Lucas came to town, he was gawking at the idea that I barely ever leave work before 9."

"I am happy for you, Pey, really."

"B, do you want the happily ever after with Lucas? You two are building a family, getting fake married. I know you like him too," Peyton asked with trepidation.

"What? No! No! I - no, that's crazy talk!" she said, feeling a little ambushed by the question.

"Okay," Peyton replied, but she was not convinced.

"Do you want to come and meet your niece and nephew?" Brooke asked.

"Yes!" Peyton said excitedly, yet she was also really really scared. It was still a bitter pill to swallow. This was the sex tape incident again, but with Lucas. The guy who had stormed LA to meet her with a ring! She knew it was a bad idea to go to his hotel room. She planned on telling Lucas about Julian that night, until she saw the ring.

Brooke and Peyton walked back to her house. The guests had all left. When they entered the house, it was a mess. The aftermath of a party clearly showed. The gift table was strewn with opened presents, toys still packed in their original plastic packaging.

Brooke didn't find any of her family inside the house, so she peeped into the backyard. Jamie, Lucas and Sam were playing a game of basketball on his playset.

"Hey," Brooke said, making her presence known.

"Mommy! You're finally back!" Jamie said, leaving the ball he was dribbling and rushing to hug her feet.

"Yeah, do you like all your presents? Did you like what Mommy got you?" she asked.

"I havent opened yours, Daddy's and Sam's gifts yet. Daddy said that we would open them when you came back," he replied. "Also, who is that?" Jamie pointed to the lean girl with the curly blonde hair standing awkwardly behind Brooke.

"This is your Aunt Peyton. She is like a sister to me. She has been my best friend since I was your age," Brooke said, lifting Jamie up in her arms.

"Hi Jamie, happy birthday. Sorry, I don't have a present for you," she said awkwardly.

"It's alright. I got so many already. Do you like cake? Grandma Karen baked the yummiest cake for me. It had a dinosaur on it who was playing basketball. Isn't that the coolest think in the world?"

"Yeah, it totally is," Peyton replied, breaking into a wide smile Brooke had been right. It was impossible to not love Jamie.

"Hi, you must be Sam. I like your outfit," she complimented.

"Thanks, it's alot like yours actually," Sam replied. Peyton felt like she had just been burnt and judged by a teenager who wasn't even wrong. Both of them were wearing a purple shirt over a grey hoodie and jeans.

"Is that how teenagers sound? Is that how we sounded? Did I just get thrown shade at by a teenager?" Peyton whispered to Brooke.

"Welcome to my world," she laughed.

"Sam, let's play nice, okay?" There was so much hidden behind Brooke's words that only Sam got. She needed Peyton to ease things with Lorelai. She had to behave and so did everybody.

"Mom, can we please go open the rest of the presents?" Jamie asked restlessly.

"Sure, kiddo. Let's go. Your present is actually hidden in the garage. Wait here while I get it," Brooke replied and sprinted to retrieve the bicycle she had purchased.

"Hey Peyton," Lucas greeted awkwardly.

"Hi. Brooke explained everything about you and the whole situation. Don't worry, I won't cause any problems," she replied, meaning those words.

"I hope that LA wasn't…"

"No, everything is fine. Water under the bridge. Don't sweat it," said Peyton, brushing her hands to emphasise how unfazed she was by the whole thing.

"Luke, there was something that I had to tell you. I meant to tell you that night when I returned to your hotel room," Peyton said but was cut off as Brooke entered the living room ringing the bell of Jamie's new bike.

"Is that a bicycle! Really! Oh my God!" Jamie began to ecstatically run towards Brooke, jumping gleefully. "Look Dad, it's Raven Blue! My favourite colour! I love it! Love it! Love i! Thank you Mama!" he replied. "Can I ride it?"

"But wait, I still have Daddy's present and Sam's present!" he said, laughing infectiously and turning towards the two.

"We'll talk later," Peyton whispered to Lucas.

Meanwhile, Sam ran up to her room to retrieve her gift. "Her you go, Jimmy Jam," she said excitedly as she handed the box to the new three-year-old.

Jamie opened the box and found a picture frame. It was a photograph that Sam had taken the day that Jamie met his father. It was while Brooke told Jamie who his father was. Brooke and Lucas were both in the shot, looking at Jamie whose face had brightened up as he learnt that he would be meeting his dad after all.

"You might not appreciate this gift now, but I assure you that you will when you grow up. Everything changed that day for all of us," she said to her kid brother. Even Peyton was emotionally affected by Sam's sincerity.

"My turn," Lucas said as he walked to Brooke's old bedroom.

Brooke gasped when she saw the gift Lucas had got out. "No, don't tell me you got him a," she began to say.

"BUNNY RABBIT!" Jamie yelled as Lucas put the cage down to Jamie's eye level.

"Is he mine!" he asked.

"Yes, he is. Would you like to hold him?" Lucas asked as he gently lifted the bunny out of its cage.

"Cup your arms," Lucas guided and helped place the timid bunny in his arms.

"Whoa!"

"Lucas! What! Where did you get the idea to get Jamie a pet without discussing it with me first!" Brooke yelled.

"Sam," he said, not even thinking twice before throwing his teenage daughter under the bus.

"What! Sam!"

"Hey, he asked me what did Jamie want more than a bike. A pet rabbit!" she said, thoroughly amused by Brooke's shock regarding the situation. "What do you want to name him, Jamie?"

"Really, I get to name him!" Jamie asked, finding the surprise incredulous.

"Yeah, of course. He is your bunny," Lucas said. "Now, you have to be responsible for him. You have to feed him, timely, everyday and help clean out his cage, okay?"

"Yes, I promise and I want to name him Chester!" he announced, making it feel like it was a proclamation when Rafiki announced Simba at Pride Rock.

"I love that name!" Sam chimed. "Good job, Jamie! So which present was the best?"

"All of them! It is so hard to pick! Uncle Nathan got me an autographed Bobcat jersey and mom got me a bicycle and dad gave me Chester. I love it all! Mom, can we celebrate my birthday again tomorrow?"

"Once a year is enough. Now, it's time you get ready for bed, Mister," she said. "Come on."

"Peyton, make yourself at home. I'll try to be as quick as I can with him," Brooke said and hauled Jamie up the stairs.

"You know, I was adopted too," she tried to break the ice with Sam.

"Yeah, brooke told me," she replied. She really wanted to add that Brooke had also told her how she had cheated on Brooke with Lucas mutiple times but Sam remembered Brooke's hidden warning behave and play nice. So, she held her tongue. She knew that Peyton was needed to smooth things over with the adoption office.

"So, what did you want to say?" Lucas asked.

"Uh…" Peyton said, feeling awkward with Sam listening in.

Sam rolled her eyes. "I guess, I'll go help Brooke with Jamie." Saying that, she went upstairs as well.

"I am sorry we didn't tell you about this Peyton. Trust me, I wanted to. I really did, but Brooke was adamant that you wouldn't take it well. How do you feel about it?"

"Honestly, I feel like someone has thrown me in a firepit. I feel blindsided. You and Brooke were the most important people in my life!" she cried.

"I know. It's just, with our histories, it's complicated."

"This is all so messed up!" she continued to rant.

"Yeah, Brooke told you that the engagement is fake right?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah, she filled me regarding the adoption. Some of it anyway. But, you do know that she wants it to be real, right?"

"What no! Wait, did she say that?" Lucas said, feeling scared.

"No, she said she didnt want it to be real either. In fact, she offered to return the ring to me, twice!" Peyton literally regurgitated her words

"Did you take it!" Lucas squeaked. Either situation was sudden.

"No! I don't want to be engaged! Lucas, that night in the hotel room, I wanted to confess something to you but when I came there, you were asleep and there was a ring box on the ground. So, I panicked," she explained. "I wanted to tell you that I was dating someone else, in LA."

"What?" Lucas gasped.

"I'm sorry, Lucas. But we had broken up. We sent each other texts and emails on random days, but we werent together. I told you that I wanted a fresh start, away from Tree Hill. I wanted to focus on music as Ellie would have liked. I was happy in my new life with a new guy who is so different from everybody out here, and I liked that."

"You're - you're still with him?" Lucas stammered.

"Yeah, I am. In fact, when I got to know Brooke was here and I wanted to see her, he is the one who booked two plane tickets to Tree Hill."

"I have so many questions. He is here in Tree Hill? Also, how did you know Brooke was here?"

"Bevin. She accidentally called me and told me that Brooke was back in town, living at her old house. Julian, my boyfriend saw how much the news regarding Brooke, who had just fanished off the face of the earth after moving to New York, had affected me. So, he told us that we had to come here and see her for ourselves."

"Where is Julian, you said?"

"He is at the Riverview Suites. We got a hotel room there for ourselves. He must be worried about me as I havent had a second to reach out to him," Peyton said.

"Julian?"

"Yeah, he is a movie producer in LA."

"A movie producer! Wow! I'm sure, Brooke would love to meet him. Call him over," Lucas offered.

"What, really?" Peyton asked, surprised.

"Yeah, call him. Wait, did you tell Brooke about him?"

"Yeah, I told her that I have a boyfriend," Peyton replied.

"Then definitely ask him over for a drink. Brooke will still take some time to put Jamie down," Lucas said. The truth was that he was jealous and threatened, even though he and Peyton weren't together. He really wanted to size up this Julian guy.

"Okay!" Peyton replied and pulled out her cell phone. "Hey baby! Yeah, I'm fine. Yeah, I met Brooke. She really is here. Lots has changed. Uh, so Brooke and some other people want to meet you. Do you think you can get a cab and come over? Yeah, I'll text you the address."

"Great, he is on his way," Peyton replied. "Wow, it feels crazy, being back in this house. Didn't the Davis' sell it?"

"They did, I bought it for Brooke and Jamie and Sam when they returned to Tree Hill," Lucas replied curtly. He was annoyed at learning about the Julian bit.

"Oh wow! Of course, big gestures were always your specialty," Peyton joked.

Twenty minutes later, Brooke descended down the stair. At the same time, the doorbell rang. Peton offered to get the door, knowing who was on the other side.

"Who is at the door this late?" Brooke asked Lucas.

"Julian, Peyton's boyfriend," he replied with a eye-roll.

"Oh, I had no idea that he had come to Tree Hill too," she replied.

"Brooke, Luke, meet Julian Baker. Julian, the infamous Brooke and Lucas," she said, feeling queasy about her current boyfriend meeting her ex-boyfriend alone. The whole warped engagement bit, that wasn't even required to be brought up at that time.

"Penelope Cruz! Wait! Brooke Davis, your Brooke Davis is Penelope Cruz! It doesn't make any sense. How is your best friend a famous stripper in New York!?" Julian said making every single one of them gape for different reasons.
