Reaction: How Would You Rate Yourself?
3rd Person POV
[Different Timeline]
?: The next video is going to be about an interesting special exam which took place instead of the Class Poll exam.
The mood immediately dampened, as the students and teachers reminisced the horrific special exam which took place at ANHS.
Ike, Sudou, Hondo and many others who lost their close friend became upset. They had already more or less moved on, but the human heart was a fragile thing.
The Video starts:
"And that's the gist of it," said Chabashira sensei, finishing her explanation.
The students of Class C were in a daze, processing what they just heard.
Hirata Yousuke raised his hand.
"Yes?"
"So what you are saying sensei...is that all of us will rate each other without any definite categories?" asked Hirata, incredulously. The class had the same thought.
"You are right. You could rate the other person out of 10 based on their first impressions, looks, abilites, or anything that comes to mind. It's completely up to you."
It was almost the end of their first year. Next week is the event selection exam. So the students were mentally preparing themselves for it. It was already a tense enough situation, when suddenly, an absurd task is given upon them. To rate the students among themselves based on anything.
"This game will be conducted in all three years and there won't be penalties as well."
There was a small commotion.
Ike: What the-?
Sudou: That's it? Seriously?!
Miyamoto: How is that even fair?!
Shinohara: No way...
The second year students except Class A, were showing their discontent about it.
Kiyotaka: So that could have happened if Tsukishiro hadn't come.
Akito: How relieving for them.
Keisei: Yeah.
Hirata: This brings...painful memories.
Kushida: Heh. Good for me since that good for nothing pervert was expelled anyway.
Amikura: Our class barely managed to scrap by.
Hamaguchi: It was thanks to Ichinose-san.
Honami: We only managed to face it because of Ayanokoji-kun's help though.
Chairman: I feel responsible for the students who were expelled unfairly.
Mashima: It was a nasty period.
Some students heaved a sigh of relief when she said that.
"However, the students with the highest average rating will be given private points as a reward."
There were murmurs inside the classroom.
"So...what is the amount?" Ike hesitantly asked.
Chabashira paused a bit before replying.
"One million points."
"WHAT?!"
Ishizaki: No way!
Hashimoto: That high?
Shibata: They're in heaven!
Ike: We are the only ones in a shitty timeline!
Sanada: I feel like it is kind of unfair too.
Nishikawa: I agree.
Suzune: Only the popular students will get the points, but that's good in it's own way.
It wasn't Ike who screamed, but his soon to be unfortunate friend, Yamauchi Haruki.
"Is something wrong?" Chabashira glared at him.
"U-uh no...I mean...isn't it kinda unfair?"
Everybody knew what he meant. Because every class had at least one popular person, it was easily predictable who would get the highest rating.
"It is, but think about it this way."
Everyone paid attention to her next words.
"You can make sure to get enough votes for your class from the whole school. If the number of students who passes the threshold is more than once in a single class, what do you think would happen?"
"...we would get more private points?" Kushida asked.
"Exactly. So this game is basically about which class secures the most amount of private points while rating each other."
There was now a wave of excitement among the students.
Katsuragi: Interesting.
Komiya: Hm, I didn't think of it that way.
Hiyori: Well, it's kind of troubling too.
She didn't share her thoughts about how they were in a disadvantage, because of their reputation as a delinquent class.
Nagumo: I can think of a few ways to completely secure the points for ourselves.
Ryuen: Kuku me too, but not in the way you would expect.
Manabu: I can see what you're thinking Nagumo, but there is bound to be some restrictions.
Nagumo: Well, it can't be helped then.
"Heck yeah, this will be fun!" Sudou exclaimed.
"I know right?"
"Those one million points are coming to me!"
"Yeah right. Have you seen your face?"
There were a few laughters.
Ryuen: Since it's solely based on first impression, I can't imagine him getting a high score.
Hashimoto: Oh! Maybe princess will-
Arisu: Shut up, Hashimoto-kun.
Hearing her cold tone, he became quiet immediately. Kamuro stifled a laugh.
Kushida: Poor Yamauchi-kun. Please get fucked again!
The increasing noise gradually died down when Chabashira signalled to stop.
"Now, I'll be explaining the rating system."
After class, everyone got ready to head to their clubs or hangouts.
Kiyotaka was packing up his stuff when the Ayanokoji group approached him.
"This exam is pretty interesting, right?" Haruka posed the question.
"I wouldn't call it an exam," Keisei muttered.
"It's pretty unique I would say," Akito commented.
"Yeah. Rating others seems like fun!"
"It actually depends on the perspective," Keisei interjected.
"What do you mean Keisei-kun?" Airi curiously asked.
"I think he means it can be fun for some people and hell for others," Akito guessed.
"Ah...I see what you mean," Haruka nodded.
It felt weird for Kiyotaka to see him interacting normally with them. He was sure that it wasn't possible anymore. Ignoring some particular stares, he kept watching.
Each of the students were given a tablet, which contained a list of all the students. When the rating starts, students can approach each other and discuss about who to rate and who to not.
Suppose, Kiyotaka can rate every other student in the school except himself. But a student from different class, say Ryuen, can approach him and convince Kiyotaka to give him the highest rating. The method of convincing will be left upto Ryuen. But Kiyotaka has the choice to ignore him either way and rate however he wants. On the other hand, he can take private points from Ryuen in exchange for giving him the highest rating. That's pretty much how it'll go.
Ryuen: The method of convincing is up to me, huh?
His grin gave a disturbing feeling to others.
Hosen: Easy.
Chairman: You know, I think we can actually conduct one like that.
Chie: Yep! It seems fun.
Mashima: Sounds good.
"There is definitely going to be trouble by giving this sort of freedom to the students," Keisei criticized.
"Yeah, it honestly doesn't make sense," agreed Akito.
"Aw c'mon guys. I think it's going to be fun. What do you say Kiyopon?"
"Yeah. It definitely is an interesting event," Kiyotaka expressed his honest opinion.
"Well, they said it would begin tomorrow morning. And only half of our classes will be held. That's a win already in my opinion," Akito smiled as he said that.
"I agree," nodded Kiyotaka.
"Yeah, you two always look so sleepy in the class," Keisei pointed out with a smirk.
"I-I think we should rate ourselves highly," Airi suggested.
"Of course! Let's all agree to give ourselves a ten, alright?" Haruka asked, as the rest of the group nodded.
"With that out of the way, let's hangout as a group today. It's really been a while," Haruka demanded.
Akito thought about his club, but decided not to spoil the mood. His seniors are pretty lenient anyways.
Kiyotaka didn't have anything to do as always, so all of them left the school together.
Haruka: How nostalgic.
After their hangout, Kiyotaka entered his room. He put his bag on the chair and laid down in the comfort of his bed.
He glanced at his phone, but there wasn't any message from the leader of their class. She didn't give any concrete instructions in the class nor asked him for his opinion.
Kiyotaka and Suzune looked intrigued.
He would have personally advised to join forces with Ichinose's class. By giving the highest rating to the students of each class, both classes would be benefited with private points. But there was a rule restricting from doing such an action. It was all in all, an individual exam about who would gain the most favourable outcome.
Nagumo: Ah! You were right, Horikita-senpai.
Apparently, he had thought of something similar, but in a large scale.
Arisu: So this exam is completely upto each individual.
Katsuragi: It feels like the opposite to the class poll exam.
Kaneda: Same concept, but different execution.
One's own freedom of approach.
Kiyotaka liked that idea.
Thinking that tomorrow would be a long day, Kiyotaka went to bed early that night.
The next morning, Kiyotaka found his tab screen glowing.
He checked it to see that someone has already gave him a rating.
Karuizawa Kei from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
He was a bit surprised, that she would give him a rating so early. It also makes sense since the exam has already started.
Kei looked proud and happy that she was the first to rate him.
Sato: You guys still weren't dating, right?
Chiaki: How quick, Kei-chan.
Kei: I-it's not like that! Just rating each other out as quickly as possible.
Mori: Early in the morning?
Ichihashi: Nice try.
Azuma: It looks like you were interested for quite a while~
Because of the constant teasing, she blushed and looked away.
Honami: I should have been quicker. What was I doing?
Kiyotaka also gave a full rating to Kei in return.
On the way to school, he got a few more messages on his tab.
Horikita Suzune from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Hirata Yousuke from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Miyake Akito from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Yukimura Keisei from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Hasebe Haruka from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Sakura Airi from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
For a moment, he was stunned.
Even though they were more or less predictable, seeing so many high ratings at once was bound make someone feel good, even if it was Kiyotaka.
Even the crowd was a bit startled.
Ike: Damn Ayanokoji!
Sotomura: What a great start!
Kanzaki: He got himself a lead already.
Honami: What in the world are you doing, Honamiii? _
Hashimoto: Why the hell haven't I rated him yet?
Ichika: It's a shame that I wasn't there too~
Kei: You're getting popular, Kiyotaka...
Kiyotaka: You don't sound happy.
Kei: O-of course, I am!
Kiyotaka quickly made sure to return those ratings exactly as they were, before he made his way to the classroom.
As he entered, he could feel the rush and excitement in the atmosphere of the class.
A game where they would be rated on anything from others and probably be rewarded as well?
It's enough to entice any teenager.
Kiyotaka took his seat silently, as always. He exchanged greetings with Akito and Horikita.
"Thanks for the rating," Kiyotaka said.
Horikita looked at him and softly nodded.
"It was only the truth, nothing else."
Kiyotaka: Thanks.
Suzune:...sure.
She only muttered in response.
Manabu looked at them with interest.
Times like this reminded Kiyotaka about how honest she was about her feelings, whether it was good or bad.
It was right then, Kiyotaka's tab notified him of another message. He curiously looked at it.
Satou Maya from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Satou: Kya~ It's me!
Kiyotaka: Thank you Satou.
Satou: Hehe, you're welcome!
The girls curiously looked at this exchange.
He quickly looked at Satou, who was smiling at him with a wave. Kiyotaka nodded in gratitude and gave her a similar rating in respond. He suddenly wondered, if it was all Horikita's plan for everyone in the class to give each other a full rating. He was contemplating whether to ask her or not.
Suzune: I don't think I could do that.
However, the next few messages on his tab cleared his doubts.
Ike Kanji from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 6/10
Yamauchi Haruki from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 4/10
Hondo Ryotarou from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 5/10
Miyamoto Soshi from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 5/10
A hard reality check for our protagonist, as he once again realized that people are not equal.
He sighed, and started to give them the same rating.
The mentioned people received looks from the whole class, and even from the other classes and years.
Ike: W-what?
Shinohara sighed.
"It can't be helped since you were stupid."
"W-what's that supposed to mean?!"
Akito: Really Hondo, Miyamoto? What makes you think you can judge Kiyotaka?
Mori: Yeah, what's with that rating?!
Hondo: H-hey! How were we supposed to know that he was someone important?
Satou: But-!
Suzune: Well, they have a fair point.
Keisei: Besides, this exam is about individual standpoint. You can't change how others think of you.
Chiaki: That's right. Unless you offer a fair deal.
Everybody understood, since they forgot that it was that type of exam.
Hashimoto: I don't know about them, but seeing that Yamauchi giving him a 4, kinda ticks me off.
Arisu: fufufu I honestly feel like admitting him again in this school just to expel him once more.
Ishizaki: Yeah. Four is too low.
Albert: BRO IS TEN!
Kiyotaka: I won't be surprised if I get a few other low ratings, since I disliked attention.
Just as he finished, two more messages came to his tab.
Kushida Kikyou from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 10/10
Ichinose Honami from Year 1 Class B has given you a rating : 10/10
Kiyotaka quickly glanced around to see if anyone was watching. It would have turned pretty troublesome if one were to even accidentally see his tab.
Seeing this consecutive explosives ratings from two of the most popular person in the school, everybody was shocked.
Honami: Hah~ inner peace
Kushida: Knowing me, I would probably give everyone a full rating, so that they would give me one too in return.
Amikura: Oh wow...Honami-chan didn't hold back~
Kobashi: It's expected, isn't it?
Hamaguchi: It is.
Watanabe: He is a lucky guy.
Andou: So sweet!
Honami blushed and just smiled happily, without respond to their teasing for the time being.
Shibata: Huh? What are they talking about?
Nagumo: You seem to be quite popular with the opposite sex, Ayanokoji.
Kei: What he said...
Kiyotaka: It's just a coincidence.
Kouenji: It is to be expected. Since he has something that you don't.
Nagumo: No one asked Kouenji.
Ike: A full rating from Ichinose-san? Suspicious, if you tell me.
Sudou: Don't twist it man. It's just...as a friend...maybe?
Onodera: You sound unsure.
He cleared his throat.
Sudou: A-anyway. Ayanokouji's too good to be just Karuizawa's-
Kei: Hey! Take that back!
Satou: Ooohh! I like how you think, Sudou-kun.
Mori: Me too!
Kei: G-guys?!
Arisu: They seem to be having fun, fufu.
For Kushida's case, she had been giving everyone in the school a full rating, since she was sure that 95% of them would return the same. The points were already in her account the moment this game was announced yesterday.
Knowing her mindset, Kiyotaka quickly rated her and Ichinose with a full number. He could see Kushida smiling at him in the corner of his eye. Kiyotaka mentally reminded himself not to get on her bad side.
Everyone except Kiyotaka's class was confused about what that meant.
Ryuen: He is quite a comedian in his mind.
Kushida: I wouldn't...cause you trouble. Not anymore...
"Hey! What the hell! Why are all of you rating me so low?!" Yamauchi's repulsive voice rang across the classroom as everyone looked at his direction.
"Duh. Cause you haven't gave anyone a high rating either," Sonoda pointed out as everyone agreed with him.
"H-huh? But...Kushida-chan-"
"Don't be an idiot Haruki. She has been giving everyone a full rating," Sudou reasoned.
After a flurry of arguments and insults, Yamauchi sat down disappointedly.
Shinohara: Hah! So he was just giving everyone the same treatment!
Nishimura: Pervert...
Azuma: Is there a negative rating?
Ichihashi: They should have it, for guys like him.
Keisei: I can't believe he expected full rating for himself while rating everybody else like that.
Akito: He has always done things we couldn't believe.
Sotomura: As expected of Yamauchi-dono. Even without being here, he is surpassing expectations.
Kiyotaka shook his head as stared at his tab. In the meantime, Professor has rated him 10/10 and Sudou gave him a 9/10. He was confused as to why they would rate him so highly, but then decided to give both of them a 10 anyway. Mii-chan and Matsushita both gave him a 9/10. Again, he was confused about being rated high by the latter one.
Mori: Hoooh~? What is this Mii-chan? You too Chiaki-chan~
She didn't waste time and immediately started the barrage. Chiaki only smiled calmly while Mii-chan became flustered, making her the obvious target.
Azuma: I thought you were going for Hirata-kun?
Ichihashi: Maybe you noticed his charm before us?
Nishimura: How sneaky of you~
Mii-chan: N-n-noo! I-It's just- this happened...and well...!
The girls kept teasing her while the Kiyotaka received another look from the boys.
Ike: Have you been picking up girls right under our nose?
Kiyotaka: No. It's just another coincidence.
Akito: You sure seem to use that a lot.
Hondo: Dammit man. Leave some for us!
Honami unconsciously narrowed her eyes at the girls who had rated him high.
Hirata: Good for you, Ayanokoji-kun.
Kiyotaka: Please don't misunderstand.
Kiyotaka was already rated by almost half of his class before homeroom began. When Chabashira sensei entered, everyone quickly became silent and put away their tabs on Horikita's instructions, as to not hamper their class points.
Ike: That's it? They won't show the other ratings?
Sotomura: It's not important Ike-dono.
After the third period, classes were officially over for the day, and students were free to carry on with their game. They could even decide to quit, and no one would stop them nor there will be any punishment. So, the over all mood around the school was peaceful and a bit playful as well.
Ishizaki: Seriously...they should give special exams like these more often.
Hiyori: I wouldn't call it an exam, it's more like a game of sort.
Katsuragi: It's right before event selection, so maybe a warm up?
Hosen: This looks like free money to me.
Ichika: I hope they hold one for our year. Seems really fun~
Nanase: It wouldn't be bad.
Keisei and Akito already had quit for the day, as they wanted to study and go to club respectively. Haruka and Airi also wanted to hangout, so Kiyotaka was free for the day as well. He took his bag and was preparing himself to go out, when his tab glowed. He found himself with a new message.
Kouenji Rokusuke from Year 1 Class C has given you a rating : 8/10
Kiyotaka almost pinched himself to see if he was dreaming or not. He looked around, but Kouenji wasn't in the classroom. He had heard from the others that only Kouenji hasn't rated anyone in the class, even though some people rated him. He wondered if it was only a rumour. Without thinking much, Kiyotaka gave him a 9/10, before heading out.
Those who knew Kouenji's nature, were absolutely stunned.
Nagumo: Color me surprised.
Ishizaki: That guy actually gave a rating?
Ryuen: Kuku even if it's Ayanokoji, I can hardly imagine him bothering to do so.
Even Kiyotaka himself was surprised. Kouenji simply smiled and didn't say anything.
Hashimoto: Oh!
Something clicked in his head.
Hashimoto: Is it because of the T-Rex thing?
The boys who know nodded in understanding.
Kamuro: The what?
Nishikawa: What is this T-Rex?
Hashimoto: Oh, just a guy thing. Don't worry about it.
Kamuro:...gross
He went to the cafeteria since he was feeling hungry. When he got there, he noticed a very unusual scenery.
Hirata was sitting alone at a table.
Kiyotaka scratched his eyes, to make sure he was seeing it right. But yes, the Hirata Yousuke was indeed sitting alone. But he could also be waiting for someone, which crossed Kiyotaka's mind, but something told him that it wasn't the case.
Seeing that something was about to occur, everyone paid attention.
He quickly got his food in a tray and approached Hirata curiously, after making sure no one was around him.
"Hey."
"H-huh? Oh... it's you Ayanokoji-kun," Hirata was surprised at first, but quickly composed himself.
"Is something wrong?"
"No. Well, it's nothing you need to concern about..."
Kiyotaka sat beside him.
"You can share if something's troubling you. Only if I am okay with you," Kiyotaka said, reassuringly. Hirata looked at him for a moment, before smiling and nodding his head.
"Alright. Well, you see..."
After hearing the situation, Kiyotaka was wondering if it was a good idea to come here.
The summary was basically: Some of the guys in their class forced Hirata to gather ratings for them. By guilt tripping Hirata saying that he will obviously have the highest rating and others wouldn't get a chance, they managed to push this troublesome task on Hirata alone.
The girls immediately glared at the supposed boys who could have done it, as they shrank back.
"Give him a break!"
"How annoying."
"Guess they will never change."
"Stop taking advantage of Hirata-kun!"
Ike: G-geez! Sorry, alright?
He and the boys had no way to refute since they were intellectually molested in the first year.
'He can refu- no, who I am kidding. This is Hirata we are talking about.'
Kiyotaka thought, before deciding to give him a helping hand.
"Please Ayanokoji-kun. I know you are going to help me, but let me do this at least," Hirata requested with a firm determination in his eyes.
Hirata: Thank you Ayanokoji-kun.
Kiyotaka: Sure.
Shinohara: I'm glad that he is not alone.
Maezono: So reliable!
"I don't mind Hirata. I am basically free and barely help out with the class matters. So I feel like I should lend a hand."
Hirata was surprised hearing his statement.
Kei: Barely? Right...
Satou: That's not true!
Keisei: Stop humbling yourself.
Sudou: Yeah dude.
Hirata: Sigh, I suppose you still think that.
Kiyotaka: No, I-
Suzune: It's no use denying it anymore.
Honami: So cute.
Ryuen: I guess the stuff he does is bare minimum in his eyes.
"What do you mean barely? You-"
Realization hit him suddenly, as Hirata started to chuckle.
"...I see. I almost forgot the type of person you are," Hirata muttered before smiling.
"Alright. Let's do this Ayanokoji-kun."
Kiyotaka nodded, as both of them soon separated to fulfill the task.
In reality, Kiyotaka wanted to observe something, as well as kill some time.
The first group Kiyotaka approached was a bunch of third year girls. There were four of them, chatting and relaxing in the cafeteria. They looked like they were just about to leave.
The girls who saw themselves on the screen became excited.
"Excuse me."
Hearing his monotonic voice, the girls stopped talking and looked at him. Kiyotaka saw curiosity in their eyes. He quickly took out a picture of Hondo in his tab and showed it to them.
Hondo: M-me?!
Sudou: Oh man, I've this bad feeling.
Shinohara: So it starts with you, huh?
Hondo became extremely anxious about being rated so openly. Moreover, the group Kiyotaka had approached were complete hotties of the third year.
"You don't have to rate him. Could you please just tell me your honest impression and how much would he get out of 10?" Kiyotaka asked.
He decided on this approach earlier. Instead of persuading, asking for their opinion should be good enough. If their opinion is high, then he could try and persuade them.
"Hmmmm..." the first girl looked intently for a moment, before giving a reply.
"I guess a four, if I am being generous."
An arrow struck Hondo's heart.
The second girl looked at the tab and instantly showed a '3' with her fingers. The third one took a few seconds and hesitantly gave a '2'.
Two more arrows struck.
Hashimoto: This is just public execution.
Ike and his friends became worried, not for Hondo, but for themselves when their time comes.
Asahina: How mean...
Finally, the last girl grabbed the tab and stared at it for a while, before her face morphed into disgust.
"What the hell?! You guys actually rated this mob?" she threw the question towards her friends, who all just shrugged in response.
The arrows were blown away by a powerful cannonball, as Hondo became completely downtrodden. His friends tried to cheer him up.
Mori:...deserved?
Chiaki: I think, it was too much.
Mii-chan: T-they shouldn't have forced Hirata-kun.
Hashimoto: That was very rude. Do it again.
"I guess, it's a no?" Kiyotaka asked, confused.
"Hell no!"
He nodded and silently took his tab, while giving Hondo a funeral in his mind.
Amikura: T-this is a bit...
Himeno: Is it bad to feel amused at this?
"Wait!"
Before he could walk away, one of the girls called for him. Kiyotaka looked back and curiously titled his head.
"What's your name?"
"Ayanokouji Kiyotaka from first year Class C, senpais," he politely introduced.
The girls giggled, as they took out their tabs, quickly typing on it. Kiyotaka's tab vibrated showing four new messages.
Izanami Yui from Year 3 Class B has given you a rating : 10/10
Watanabe Fumiko from Year 3 Class B has given you a rating : 10/10
Kanata Chiyo from Year 3 Class B has given you a rating : 10/10
Takahashi Sayoko from Year 3 Class B has given you a rating : 10/10
"See you around Kohai~"
"Bye bye~"
The group of girls walked away giggling and laughing, as our protagonist stood there like a wall.
'...what just happened?' he thought as he looked down on his tab.
Yui: Oh my~
Chiyo: Good job, me!
Kiyotaka felt glares, not only from his peers, but also from the upperclassmen.
Honami: Is this how...Karuizawa-san feels like?
Kei: Mouu!
Shibata: T-this is beyond me. How did he even do that?!
Hashimoto: He casually rizzed them up before we could blink. I doubt even Kouenji could do that.
Kouenji: Hoh? Are you challenging me, Snake-kun?
Amikura: First impressions do matter here the most I guess.
Asahina: I think I get I how they feel. Ayanokoji-kun has this impression of an innocent and adorable guy.
Fumiko: Yes yes!
Sayoko: I totally know right?
Hearing them say this, Nagumo tried his best to not burst out laughing. Even Manabu felt oddly uncomfortable.
Ryuen:...Innocent?
Ibuki:...Adorable?
Hiyori: Hehe I agree.
Suzune: They are quite misguided.
Kiyotaka: Let them be.
For now, we can conclude that Kiyotaka had failed his first task...successfully.
After exiting the cafeteria, Kiyotaka was looking to see if he can find anyone else.
In the meanwhile, he received more messages.
Ishizaki Daichi from Year 1 Class D has given you a rating : 10/10
Yamada Albert from Year 1 Class D has given you a rating : 10/10
Shiina Hiyori from Year 1 Class D has given you a rating : 10/10
He more or less expected Hiyori's, but a full rating from the former two? He honestly had no idea.
Ishizaki: Heh..
Albert: 👍
Hiyori smiled happily.
While thinking about it, he saw Manabe Shiho of Class D walking towards him. Kiyotaka remembered seeing her friends in the cafe, so he figured she must be going there to meet them. He thought this was a good opportunity.
"Hello."
"H-huh?!" Manabe was surprised initially, but rolled her eyes in annoyance when she recognized him.
"What?"
"Could you give me your honest opinion on this guy?" Kiyotaka showed a picture of Miyamoto.
Miyamoto was caught off guard, before yelling loudly.
"Yamerrrooo!"
"Huh? Are you asking for-"
"No. I just want your opinion. Nothing else," he ensured.
Manabe gave him a suspicious look as she looked at the tab. After staring for a few seconds, she spoke.
"Ten."
"Huh?"
"Huh?!"
They were stunned for a second.
Kiyotaka was genuinely baffled for a moment.
"...times zero."
Saying so, Manabe huffed and quickly walked away.
The glimmer of hope was gone, as Miyamoto collapsed on the spot, next to his friend Hondo.
Azuma: She almost gave me a heart attack.
Nishimura: Heehe, how mean...
Giving a second funeral in his mind, Kiyotaka looked for his next target.
Looking around aimlessly, he found himself face to face with a familiar person.
"Ara~ if it isn't Ayanokoji-kun?"
Kiyotaka silently cursed his luck as Sakayanagi Arisu, leader of Class A smiled at him. Hashimoto and Kamuro were also with her.
Arisu: Oh my, why would you think that Ayanokoji-kun? I feel upset.
Kiyotaka: Sorry.
Hearing the most monotonic apology ever from him, caused Arisu to get looks of pity instead.
"Oh, hello," Kiyotaka curtly replied and was about to walk away.
"Hey King, Since we met anyway, let's rate each other," Hashimoti suggested with a sly smirk.
"...king?" Kamuro muttered in confusion, but decided not to poke her nose.
Kiyotaka nodded, while silently cursing Hashimoto in his mind for that stupid nickname.
Hashimoto: Oops.
Kamuro: Guy thing, huh?
Hashimoto: Yep.
Hashimoto immediately brought out his tab. Arisu followed his actions and used hers as well.
"Aren't you going to rate too, Masumi-san?" Arisu asked.
"Don't wanna."
"C'mon, don't be so stiff. It's just a silly game anyways. Why don't you take this chance to show your true feeli- Ouch!" Hashimoto screamed as Kamuro twisted his ear. She never got a good feeling whenever Hashimoto opened his mouth.
Kamuro looked away.
"Bastard."
Hashimoto: Is she embarrassed?
He whispered to Arisu.
Arisu: Fufu definitely.
Honami: Not another one..
Watching their antics, Kiyotaka felt a vibration as he looked at his tab.
Sakayanagi Arisu from Year 1 Class A has given you a rating : 10/10
Hashimoto Masayoshi from Year 1 Class A has given you a rating : 9/10
Kamuro Masumi from Year 1 Class A has given you a rating : 8/10
Kiyotaka reciprocated their ratings as well.
Arisu: You don't have to hold back for me, Hashimoto-kun.
Seeing how he didn't give him a ten, Arisu spoke. Hashimoto just smiled in response.
Kei: Kamuro-san gave you quite a high rating.
Since they knew Arisu was his childhood friend, it wasn't surprising to see her giving a ten.
Kiyotaka: Must be luck.
Ike: Suspicious...
'Hm, since they are here...'
Kiyotaka opened the casket and brought out Miyamoto again.
He explained the situation to them before showing the tab.
Miyamoto: NOOO, NOT AGAIN! LEAVE ME ALONE!
The guys genuinely felt bad for him at this point.
"Hmm, seems pretty average, no maybe lower..." Hashimoto mumbled a bit before deciding.
"Four, I guess?" he said.
"I will be neutral and say five," Arisu followed.
The two of them looked at Kamuro, as if telling her to give a rating.
"Ugh, fine." She properly looked at the picture this time and told Kiyotaka.
"Two. Take it or leave."
"Damn, brutal..." Hashimoto whistled.
Kiyotaka slowly put back Miyamoto inside the casket and closed the lid. At least, it seemed a little better than ten times zero.
Miyamoto: Thanks...Ayanokoji.
He had already accepted his fate.
Hondo: At least someone like Sakayanagi-san gave you a five.
Ike: That's pretty good, I would say.
Chiaki: No. I am pretty sure she didn't even look at the tab.
After parting with them, Kiyotaka continued on his little mission. This was starting to get a little fun.
This time, the boys who were on the scale of low ratings glared at him.
Miyamoto: I take that back. Fuck you, Ayanokoji.
Hondo: Yeah!
Akito: Hey now. It wasn't him to begin with.
Ryuen: Kukuku but I agree. Seeing you guys getting verbally screwed is really funny.
Ishizaki: I hope they won't show mine.
Except those guys, mostly everybody was enjoying this video.
He approached another female senpai this time.
"Hmm, a 3 honestly," she said while looking at Yamauchi.
"Really?"
"Yeah. He's not really my type."
"A three's not bad for him."
"Pretty low, still."
Kushida: A three?! Is she smoking weed or something? That's too high!
Kiyotaka nodded, as something came on his mind.
"How would you rate yourself, senpai?"
"A 10 of course!"
An instant reply. Kiyotaka was intrigued.
"Do you think others will agree?"
"Meh. I don't care about what other's think. Confidence is key," she proudly said and walked away.
Kiyotaka noted that in his mind.
Seeing her face, some of the boys held themselves back from making a moment comment. Some things are better left unmentioned, after all.
This time, he approached a male senior. He showed him the same girl he talked to a while ago and asked him how he would rate her.
"Uhh...I don't know man... looks like a fucking lizard to me."
Was the senpai's nonchalant reply.
The thing that was on their mind was put into words.
No one could hold back, as the boys burst out laughing uncontrollably. Even the girls had to restrain themselves.
Ryuen: Kukukuhaha where is that lizard?
Hiyori: S-so mean...
Asahina: S-sadly, sh-she was expelled l-last year...
She tried her best to keep herself from laughing, since it was a sensitive topic.
Shibata: Pfft! He didn't even consider her a human-pffft hahaha
Amikura: T-that's rude, Shibata-kun.
Himeno: What's the worst he could say, they thought.
Onodera: Sudou-kun...
She muttered in concern, seeing him and the other guys almost out of breath.
Suzune: I don't get how this is so funny...
Kiyotaka: You are a good girl, Horikita.
"Hmm, a 5...no I guess a 6," said another female senpai, looking at Ike's photo.
Ike had looks decent enough to earn him a 6, but if she knew his personality, the rating would probably be in the negative, is what Kiyotaka thought.
Hondo: Way to go, having a rating much decent than us.
Miyamoto: Traitor...
Ike: C-cheer up guys. At least my personality's shit.
Shinohara:...did you just sound proud about that?
Ike: N-no! That's what Ayanokouji thinks. I am still improving!
Maezono: A negative rating is necessary.
Azuma: Agreed.
He looked at his tab to see 50% battery still remaining. Just that moment, two new messages arrived.
Asahina Nazuna from Year 2 Class A has given you a rating : 9/10
Nagumo Miyabi from Year 2 Class A has given you a rating : 7/10
Kiyotaka wondered if it was Nagumo's way of telling that he is watching.
Without thinking much, he gave Asahina a full rating, while giving Nagumo a 8/10...very reluctantly.
Kiyotaka: How annoying.
Asahina: Seven is a bit too low Miyabi.
Nagumo: I can see that. I was probably still confused about his presence.
Asahina: So how would you rate him now?
Nagumo:...nine, maybe?
Asahina: Still confused, huh?
After that, he proceeded to carry on with his task.
"How would you rate yourself?"
"...a four? Nah, that's too much. Three will do."
"An eight I guess. Only if I had a bit more confidence."
"Ten, if I was more outgoing. But, seven will do for now.
"Six, maybe? It's my favourite number too."
"Five. I was born neutral."
"I am broke."
"The most relatable one so far."
There were many voices of agreement.
"As high as my english score."
"My rating would be close to zero in that case."
Again, many agreed with that.
"I've been in Class D for three years. Does that answer?"
Maezono: We got a promotion by the second semester though.
Mori: It doesn't mean our suffering had lessened.
"Rating? Who does that shit? I am fine with just breathing."
Hirata: A bit...extreme, no?
Ijuuin: You would be surprised by how many are like that.
"A solid nine, if we are talking about my ability to procrastinate."
Haruka: That's so mee.
Ishikura: Yeah.
"I would have given myself a five if my girlfriend didn't just dump me last month."
Hashimoto: Ouch.
Hosen: That's just his skill issue.
Utomiya: Five, even with a girlfriend?
Ichika: Now that's just sad. I can see why she dumped him.
"I'd say my patience is about a three when dealing with slow internet."
"A solid ten, when it comes to binge-watching."
Sotomura: Comrades.
"One is good..."
"..."
Nishikawa: Was that you, Yamamura-san?
Yamamura: N-no...!
"Are there any cameras around?"
"Why did she think that?"
"There are people who gets fun in doing so."
"You don't get to rate objects, do you?"
"Man...he needs help."
"Leave me alone!"
Amikura: Yuki-chan?
Himeno: W-what? He was being annoying.
Kiyotaka sat on the bench with a sigh. Hearing so many different self-evaluation from the students of this school has given him a new insight on human nature, as well as a new headache. He had already informed Hirata that he managed to get a few ratings, to which the boy expressed his gratitude for his help.l
Suzune: I am surprised that you had the drive to do so.
Kiyotaka: Me too. Guess I was a bit motivated.
Ryuen: Motivated to de-evaluate people? Sure.
Nishino: I agree though. It was a little fun.
It was already evening, as the sky began to change colors.
Tomorrow, the results of this little game will be announced, and Kiyotaka could more or less predict the outcome.
Ding
Kiyotaka looked at his tab to see a new message. He wondered who could have rated him at this time.
Seeing the message, his eyes widened a bit. But then again, he wasn't surprised.
He got up from the bench and started to make his way for the dorms. The nature reflecting the red hue of the setting sun, as the excitement started to die down in a peaceful silence, something the boy very much appreciated.
The tab glowed for a few minutes, before turning off by itself.
✅ Horikita Manabu from Year 3 Class A has given you a rating : 10/10
*The Video Ends*
Nagumo: Ah, so he was left.
Suzune: A full rating...
Kiyotaka: Are you surprised?
Suzune: No. I shouldn't be.
Manabu: It was the upper limit. So I had no choice, but to give ten.
Ike: Huh?
Shinohara: What does he-?
Mii-chan: It means... that he would have given him more than ten if he could.
Sudou: He acknowledges Ayanokoji that much? Damn...
Nagumo: I think Ayanokoji was the only one to receive a ten from him.
Hiyori: I am surprised though. Didn't Ryuen-kun rate for him?
Ishizaki: Oh, you're right!
Ryuen: Huh?!
Ishizaki: I-I mean, only if he wanted to...?
Ryuen: Why would I rate that fucker?
Ishizaki: Ah...s-sorry. Guess you won't...
Arisu: There is a term for people like you, Ryuen-kun.
Ryuen: I don't wana hear anything your crippled ass has to say.
Arisu: Fufu... so mean.
Kanzaki: I think he could actually have a decent chance of winning.
Hamaguchi: It depends on the average.
Kiyotaka: I doubt it. Since my interaction circle is much smaller compared to others.
Kushida: Don't worry about it. You are fine as you are.
Kiyotaka: Really?
Kushida: mm...
Kei: W-weren't they enemies?
?: Let's play the next one.
