A/N:

So this is just the first chapter, and I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this, but I have a vagure idea...so please review so I can know how to improve! Thanks! :)

Chapter 1

The hallways at Heartwell High were empty. Of course they were. It's not that I regret signing up to be a student guide, but does it have to be in the morning at 7? A little too early if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, showing the school around to the new kids is amazingly fun, especially considering that some come from really different places, like when last year an entire family came from a place up north in Washington called Forks. According to them, Forks is the rainiest place in the world, but I disagree. Our little town on the top of California had to take that title. We're basically in the middle of nowhere, and it rains almost everyday, and the days it doesn't rain, it's either cloudy or snowy. And so, the winner of the rainiest place on Earth goes to…Heartwell!

Anyways…I've reached Principal Brooks office. I was told the newbies were sophomores, just like me, and were TWINS. *silently squeals in pure joy* Imagine if they are identical twins with some sort of twin telepathy. Imagine how cool that would be! They wouldn't need to pass notes in class, they could send it through their imaginary telephon line

"Ahem", someone coughed.

I slightly jumped in surprise.

Oh shoot, I was in the front office. Sometimes my thoughts get the best of me and I'd completely forget about where I was or what I was doing. Opening my mind(that's a thing people!) I realized that I was in the office with the principal and two other people and turned to see them more clearly.

Holy fudge! Two teenagers who were deathly pale with violet-blue eyes and bags under their eyes were behind me. Guess these two didn't get much sleep! The girl had pale blond hair, which was beautifully put in a braided crown above her hair. I mean, who puts that much effort into their hair for school? She had flawless skin, the kind most people only dreamed of achieving. I'm going to have to ask for her skincare routine. She honestly looked like an avenging angel. The only thing she needed to complete the picture were some angel wings.

The boy had this angel vibe too, but something about him was actually frightening. Like we're talking serial killer frightening. Maybe he's an angel that has evil tendencies. He was tall, for a 15 year old boy that is, but somehow his presence was so big that the room seemed a little suffocating, like there wasn't enough air for all of us. Well, that's just being a little bit paranoid. His face scrunched up, as though he smelt something terrible in the air. Wait, does he have a super good nose and can somehow smell that I didn't wear deodorant? My mom is always telling me to wear it! Aghhhhhhhh!

Oh, wait nevermind I wore deodorant! No pit problems here!

The guy was also standing deathly still, like a statue. It was a little scary but that's okay. I'm definitely not going to have nightmares about this moment for the rest of life.

I have fully observed their physical characteristics to make the verdict that they are hot, and now my mind can think about more important things. Like doing the job I came here for.

So I greeted the new students. "Hi I'm Leanne, but please just call me Lea. I'll be your student guide." So far, so good.

The girl told me her name was Jane Volturi and that her brother was Alec. We all left the office and basically roamed the hallways with me pointing out stuff, and Jane mumbling acknowledgements. I don't know if she is just shy or maybe a loner, but either way I was going to break her shell and have a conversation with her. A toast to life-goals! But at least Jane opened her mouth. Alec's mouth has been sealed shut for the entire time. I would be shocked if his lips were hot glued together. After a few more minutes of awkward conversation I decided to attack Jane's defenses.

"So where did you guys transfer from?"

"Italy."

Ok, so maybe I regret my reaction to what she said, but I couldn't really help myself. I've always wanted to go backpacking through Europe, so the innocent bystander now must face the wrath of my questions. Good for her.

"Wait, really! Where are you from? Is it a small town or a big city or somewhere in between? How long have you lived there? What's your favorite place to visit? Favorite monument? Have you ever been to Venice? How about Rome? Have you seen the Sistine Chapel ceiling? What's your favorite beach there?" I took a minute to breathe and was about to resume my onslaught of questions, when I realized that Jane seemed to be waiting for me to finish.

"Erm…well that's about all my questions for now", I said, feeling a bit guilty. Stupid me. If Jane really is just shy, then I basically probably made her even more uncomfortable. I hate myself right now.

She laughed a little(yessss! My plan worked, at least I think) then responded.

"Well, I'm from a town in central Italy, and I've been there for basically forever. I love going to the cathedrals. Honestly, they're all so beautiful. I don't have a favorite monument. I have been to Venice and Rome and I've seen the Sistine Chapel ceiling. My favorite beach is Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany, and if you ever go to Italy someday you have to visit."

And of course at the mention of going to Italy I had to squeal, which made Alec glare at me but whatever, the haters gonna hate. My enthusiasm can't be stopped, because it is endless. Mwahahaha! Jane seemed to like me enough though, so I'll take that small victory. In a few more minutes, the bell rang and I said bye to the new students, hoping I'll see them later.
