Angie walked into the cafe to order herself some coffee after her short shift at Zuni's. She was lucky that she didnt see Carlton or his security even ignored his texts and calls all day. "Hi, Im Janea. What will it be today?" Said girl with red hair. "Anything that will get me through a break up." Said Angie. "I'll see what i can do." Sais Janea grabbing a cup scribbling something down. Angie took a seat scrolling through her phone for any messages hearing someone take a seat across from her. She bother looking up from her phone as Janea came with a slice of coffee cake drizzled with chocolate. "Your drink will be done soon." Said Janea smiling at her then scoffed at the man. "Dont you have a project to do?" Sais Angie. "Can we talk about last night?" Said Carlton. "That i almost got raped and murdered because you stood me up again. Then sent your coworker to give me an apology gift." Said Angie as her phone got taken away. "Listen. Im sorry i didnt show. This project can change everything. Please let me make it up to you." Said Carlton. "Im not a fucking idiot. So whatever excuse to make me stay with you. Go shove it up your ass because im done." Said Angie. "Angie please dont do this." Said Carlton. "I already did. You care more about your work than me. Now get out." Said Angie. "I'll find a way to take you back." Said Carlton walking away. "Shouldve shoved that cake in his face." Said Janea handing her drink. 'You deserve better. Any guy will be lucky to have you.' Written on her cup with a number at the bottom. "Thanks Janea." Said Angie then realized her phone wasnt on the table. "That dick has my phone." She says getting up grabbing her things walking out. Looking around to find Carlton was gone and waved a taxi. "Life Foundation please." Sais Angie getting in. She looked at her surroundings while grabbing the money for the ride as they reach the large building from the long drive. "Twenty five." Said the man. "Here. Thanks." Said Angie handing him the money getting out. She walked to the front door seeing a woman typing away on the computer.
"Hi. Did Carlton Drake come in here? I need to talk to him." Said Angie. "Angie? What are you doing here?" Said Dora walking out the computer room. "Carlton has something of mine. Im here to get it back." Said Angie. "I can take you to him. Hes in the interview." Said Dora. "Thank you." Said Angie following her. She looked at the place seeing it was like space museum then heard Drake talking to someone. "At twenty four you created this foundation and building rockets." Said a voice. "I got it from here thank you." Said Angie walking towards the group. "Excuse me. We're in the middle of a interview." Said a woman stopping her. "I'm here to reclaim something of mine. Hey Eddie. Drake." Said Angie smiling at Eddie then dropped it when looking at Carlton. "It will have to wait. Now what about the experiments you done here?" Said Eddie going back to Carlton. "Excuse me?" Said Carlton. "The experiments you had people volunteer for which resulting to their deaths." Said Eddie as Angie looked between the . "Eddie. Were supposed to talk about the rocket." Said the woman. "Well im not okay. I want to know. Are you killing people for science?" Said Eddie. Carlton tucked his mic in his jacket then called security to take them away including Angie. "Not her." Said Carlton grabbing her hand. Angie pulled her hand back once everyone got in the elevator. "Give me back my phone." Said Angie. "Sorry. I forgot i had it. Here. I dont want it to end like this." Said Carlton. "Enough. I got my phone. Good bye Drake." Said Angie walking to the elevator. She hit the floor button waiting as Carlton watched her get on while his security men approach him from behind. "Watch out for those two. And no one hurts Ms. Walter. Understood?" Said Carlton looking at him. "Yes sir." Said bald security man before walking away. Angie walked out of the building pulling out her phone seeing nothing was wrong with it as her name was called.
"Angie. What were you doing back there?" Said Eddie walking towards her. "I was just getting my phone back from my ex who you just talked to." Said Angie drinking her cold Oreo cream shake with chocolate drizzle on top. "Carlton Drake. Well are you doing anything? We can hang out after i talk with my boss." Said Eddie. "Sure." Said Angie as Dora walked towards her. "Ms. Walter i need to talk you." Said Dora. "You want a ride?" Said Eddie. "Yeah just a second." Said Angie. Eddie left as Dora looked concerned before checking no one was around before leaning in. "I want to show you something that Carlton is up to. I'll meet you at your apartment tonight." Said Dora before walking away. Angie looked confused before walking towards Eddie grabbing the helmet and got on his bike wrapping her arms around him tight enough for her not to fall off as they drove off.
Hours gone by as Angie stood outside her apartment looking both ways then saw Dora pull over. Angie got in quickly knowing the crimes are active at night looking at Dora feeling nervous through out the drive to the foundation. The girls got out as Dora instructed her to cover her face with the hoodie she had on before going in through the back door. Dora lead her into the secret lab showin many machines and glass cages of people inside either dead or alive. "What the fuck? So he is doing experiments on people but with what?" Said Angie. "Symbiotes. Found from space. We were supposed to figure out we use them to cure the sick but Carlton had other ideas after seeing the effects they can cause once they take possession of a host." Said Dora showing a woman in a fetal position on the floor. Angie felt a stinging pain on her pinky making her look down seeing the red line turn into a red to black ombre with lines spreading out like a web. "Whats this?" Said Dora gesturing her pinky. "I dont know i had this since birth. I felt it stinging me like a spider bite but . . . Dora." Said Angie looking up slowly to see the woman standing still staring at her. "Mate." Said the woman in a deep raspy voice. "What?" Said Angie as the woman started to turn her head to the left in a snapping motion. "What do you have on the subjects?" Said Carlton from another room. "You have to go. I'll stall him." Said Dora. Angie nodded as the woman started screaming and banging against the glass trying to break it making Angie ran to the stairs and exited the building. She ran down passed the gates passing the sleeping guard and called Anne to pick her up. Looking back at her pinky to see it was still the same but the stinging pain was gone making her feel confused on what happened back in the lab.
