Chapter Four: Moving in
Akihiko.
Anger burned inside of Akihiko as he overheard Misaki's speech. The rage and humiliation he must have felt at this degenerate's doing. He couldn't even imagine how Misaki must be feeling. Angry by the looks of it.
Misaki had always made a point of avoiding confrontation, but no wonder this was the exception. To take his glasses off his face, not even Takahiro was allowed to do that, his own brother. And this asshat thinks he can do that.
"What!" Akihiko said through his teeth as Misaki finished telling off the brat.
Both men whipped their heads around to face him. The young man who dared hurt Misaki went as pale as a sheet when he saw that someone had overheard.
"Usami-San?" Was Misaki's reaction.
"Yes, I'm here." Akihiko said, placing a protective hand on Misaki's shoulder. "I'm sorry I left you alone, this won't happen again." He looked directly into the other man's eyes as he said the last part. "Misaki, are you alright?"
"I'm fine Usami-San, it was a misunderstanding." Misaki said casually, acting as though that was the truth.
"Misaki, would you like me to guide you outside? Takahiro and Manami are preparing to leave." Akihiko suggested, in a hope to get Misaki away from this monster.
"Oh, yes please." Came his reply. As they stood to leave however, the horrid man stood with them.
"And where are you going?" Akihiko asked the man, glaring at him.
"If sis is leaving then I have every right to see her off."
Oh great, Akihiko thought, this ass is Manami's brother. Without a word he guided Misaki to the exit and lined up with others who were preparing for the happy couples send off. Kaito got the message and stood far apart from Misaki and Akihiko.
"Would you like some rice to throw when they walk through?" He asked Misaki, trying to distract him from his nasty encounter.
"That would be wonderful. Can you tell me when to throw it?" Misaki answered, smiling now. "I want to aim it right at Nii-Chan." He said giggling.
"That's fine by me. Just wait for my signal, then throw. I'll make sure he's in the perfect position." Akihiko joined in with Misaki's laughter.
He watched as the couple made their way down isle the guests had created for them, everyone having their go at trying hit the bride and groom with their dry rice.
"Ready." Akihiko said as the couple came closer. "Now!" He said. Misaki threw the rice, and it landed perfectly in Takahiro's hair. Akihiko burst into laughter. "Perfect shot." He said through his giggles.
Takahiro turned his head and looked at the pair of them laughing so hard they were holding their sides. He made his way over to say goodbye to his brother and good friend, while Manami went to see her father.
"Misaki." Takahiro announced himself. "I'll see you in two weeks." He wrapped his brother up in a hug. "Be safe and have a good time with Usagi."
"Have fun Nii-Chan, I'll see you soon." As the two men hugged one more time, Akihiko noticed Manami talking to her father and pointing at her brother. Her father had a stern look in his eyes as he looked over to his son. Kaito seemed to shrink into himself at that look and Akihiko knew that he would learn his lesson.
He was pulled from his thoughts and into a hug. "Take good care of my brother." Takahiro said as he let his friend go.
"And you be sure to enjoy yourself." Akihiko clapped him on the shoulder and turned him to his new wife. The crowd cheered as the two entered the car and once they where in the distance people started to leave.
"So, what now?" Misaki asked.
"We've gotta pack your things and get you set up at my place. We'll head back to yours now."
"Okay and thank you for letting me crash at yours."
"It's not a problem." Akihiko said as they both reached the car. They drove to Misaki's and Takahiro's shared apartment and started to gather all the necessary supplies.
"I should have thought about packing before the wedding." Misaki said as he put the last of his stuff in the case. "Can you help me double check I've got everything?" He asked turning his head to face Akihiko.
"Of course." Akihiko answered.
"Toothbrush?"
Akihiko made his way to the case and looked inside the clear bag holding the bathroom essentials. "You've packed it." He said once he found the bright green electric toothbrush.
"Toothpaste?"
"Yep"
"Face cloth."
"Umm … I don't see it, where do you usually keep it?" He asked, planning on grabbing it for him.
"It should be in the bathroom, hanging above the shower head. It will have my name stitched into it."
"Okay, just give me a sec." Akihiko made his way to the bathroom and found said cloth. He came back into the room and put it in the bathroom bag. "Check facecloth, what's next?"
The two continued this way, Misaki didn't forget much more, and once everything was checked and accounted for, the two men made their way back to the car.
Misaki.
The drive to Akihiko's apartment didn't take too long. Once they arrived Misaki held on to Akihiko's shoulder to make sure he didn't loose the man. They rode an elevator up and Misaki Heard the ting notifying them it was their stop. "What floor are we on?" He asked, just in case he had to make the ride alone.
"I'm on the penthouse floor, so it's the 20th floor, but the button isn't numbered and there is no brail marking it either. But it is the top button."
Not too bad then, Misaki thought as they continued forwards. "Now there are two ways to open the door, you can put in the pass code, which is two, three, six, seven. Or you can use the electronic key. I'll have a copy made for you once you're unpacked." Akihiko explained as he unlocked the front door.
"This is the hallway." Akihiko stated as he led Misaki through. "There's a small step down, so be aware of that whenever you come in. You can remove your shoes here; I've got some slippers you can borrow until we unpack yours."
Misaki lowered himself after he found the step and sat on it, he then removed his shoes and before he could ask where to put them, they were taken from him and something soft touched his fingers.
"These are the slippers." Akihiko said helpfully.
"Oh, thank you." Misaki took the slippers and put them on his feet, they where a bit large for him, not that it bothered him. Akihiko continued to lead him forwards then Misaki was turned to his right.
"This is the entrance to the living area, it's open planned so the kitchen is easily accessible." Misaki was very careful taking a step forward into the room. He had never been to Akihiko's place before and he didn't want to bump into anything, or worse, break something.
"Can you walk me through the space, so I know where everything is."
Akihiko took his arm without complaint and walked the space with him, explaining in great detail where everything was, what it looked liked and even assigned Misaki his own seat in the living area.
Misaki was shown the living area, the kitchen, the closet that held an assortment of bears, a conference room, a study room, a laundry room, and a bathroom. There were so many rooms on this level, so when Akihiko mentioned another floor Misaki was rather surprised. "Wait, wait, wait. You have a second floor."
"Yes, that's were the bedrooms are. There's my room, or the main bedroom. Two spare rooms, both with an en-suite lavatory. And the main bathroom." Akihiko explained helpfully.
"Okay, I'll have to get used to having stairs, can you walk me through the space upstairs too please."
And so, the tour continued.
Finally, everything was put away and Akihiko had helped him label the cabinet doors and drawers with brail stickers. He had a copy of the key, and he was set up in the bathroom. The two ordered take out for dinner and they both crashed on the sofa enjoying their food.
