Chapter One: New Faces Around

"Come on. I've still got lots of places to show you." A brown haired girl says as Alexis is following her around a school.

"I'm coming uh..." Alexis says.

"Susie." The girl says kindly.

"Susie. Right. Sorry." Alexis says shyly.

"It's alright. I know what it's like being the new kid around. It can be nerve wrecking." Susie says.

"Definitely. Thanks for agreeing to show me around the school." Alexis says as she smiles.

"No problem. And this is the courtyard. This is where we often gather and eat our lunch at outside." Susie says as she brings Alexis outside to an are with tables and benches.

"It's certainly big." Alexis says as she looks around.

"That is is." Susie says before a girl with blonde hair walks over.

"Susie! Come here I need your help." The girl says.

"Not now Angelica. I'm with the new student." Susie says as she gestures to Alexis.

"She can wait a few minutes. I need your help now." Angelica says impatiently.

"Oh alright I'm coming. Wait here for me Alexis. I'll be back in a bit." Susie says as she looks at Alexis.

"Okay." Alexis says as she sits down on a bench and watches Susie walk away.

"So you're the new girl that I was told about." A voice says revealing to be a boy with a hat.

"Who are you?" Alexis asks curiously.

"I'm Dylan. Dylan Pickles. But everyone calls me Dil for short." The boy says kindly.

"Nice to meet you Dil." Alexis says kindly as she smiles.

"What's your name?" Dil asks curiously.

"It's Alexis. Alexis Hathaway to be more precise." Alexis says as she chuckles.

"That's a pretty name." Dil says as Alexis blushes slightly.

"Thanks. Is that an alien shirt you're wearing?" Alexis asks as she looks at Dil's shirt.

"Yep. Are you a fellow believer?" Dil asks curiously.

"Um well that's actually a bit complicated. I believe there are things out there even if we may not always see them but just because we may not see them doesn't mean they're not real." Alexis says.

"I can respect that. So where did you come from before this?" Dil asks curiously.

"Colorado." Alexis says.

"Wow. That's pretty cool. I've always wondered what that place is like." Dil says.

"Meh. It's not really that exciting. But then again I don't really get out all that much." Alexis says.

"How come?" Dil asks curiously.

"No friends really. Lots of people think I'm weird." Alexis says shyly.

"I know that feeling. Lots of people think I'm weird too. But if you want I'd be happy to be your first friend." Dil says as he smiles.

"Really?" Alexis asks.

"Yeah. If you want." Dil says.

"I'd like that." Alexis says happily as Susie walks over.

"Alexis I'm back. Oh hey Dil. What's up?" Susie asks.

"Not much. Just chatting with Alexis here." Dil says.

"Well if you're ready let's get back to the tour." Susie says.

"You were giving her a tour? Care if I take over Susie? I'd like to chat with Alexis a bit more." Dil says.

"Sure Dil. You alright with that Alexis?" Susie asks curiously.

"Sure." Alexis says as she nods.

"Great. Follow me." Dil says as Alexis walks off.

Life story: Alexis was born in the mountains with her mother and her father. She is the only one of her litter. Her parents and pack both were killed when she was 3 by another wolf and his pack. Thanks to her mother she survived the slaughter and was raised by her adoptive family.
