A cacophony of sounds, bright flashes of red, yellow and blue, a hissing laughter and a loud scream. The boy woke up sweating profusely, panting hard like he had just ran a marathon, remembering the flash of green that filled his eyes. He looked around and realised he had that awful nightmare again, his windowpane destroyed like it happened every time he had that nightmare. Before he can catch his bearings, the door to his room opened, his mother entered, waved her wand to light-up the room and vanish the broken glass. She rapidly crossed the distance to her son and wrapped him in a gentle hug. He wrapped his arms around her waist and the dam burst open. She rubbed his back reassuringly, rocking him back and forth until his breathing evened out. She looked into the emerald orbs her son had inherited from her, saw the fear and shock receding as the fire behind them started to rage again. He gently separated from her, got out of the bed to walk over to his father who standing in the doorway leaning into the frame.
The father embraced his son, whispering a question "Was is the same nightmare Harry?". Harry left the strong embrace to look to into his father's brown eyes and nodded "Yes Dad". His father placed his hand on his shoulder in solidarity while his son took deep breaths to compose himself.
"Mom, Dad would like to go for a walk with me?" Harry asked looking alternatively at his parents. They both smiled and nodded as his mother said "James, why don't you check up on Daisy and join us on the grounds?". James saluted his wife to lighten up the mood and asked cheekily "would you like me to wake her up?". Before Lily's stinging hex could hit him, he bolted from the room. Harry smiled at antics of his parents and already feeling better.
Lily shook her head and looked at her smiling son. He looked so much like James, except of course his green spectacles free eyes and high cheekbones. He almost came up to her shoulders and his antics in the forest surrounding their manor had gifted him with an athlete's build. He had the Potter's nest hair, jet black just like his father. "Come on Harry, let's go. Are you feeling better sweetie?" Harry looked up at her and smiled "Getting better every passing minute". She smiled and they walked in comfortable silence.
They walked up to the Oak tree they had planted on the day Harry had been born and sat down against it. They were soon joined by James who sat on the other side of his son.
"Are you going to tell us what happened that night nine years ago?" asked Harry looking at crimson horizon. James and Lily looked at each other, unsurprised as they had promised Harry they will tell them the truth once they were old enough to understand.
"Yes, you both know that your grandparents died today but we will tell you the complete truth today" James answered. "We will break our fasts as usual, then visit the graves of your grandparents as we always do. We will tell you before we leave so that you can pay them the respect they deserve". Harry nodded at his father and they sat before moving back to manor to get ready.

Harry entered the kitchen wearing black robes he wore to visit his grandparents. He joined his parents at the table who were conversing silently. He thanked Petey for his coffee when his sister entered looking unusually somber. He always wondered how they both looked so much like their parents, while he looked like James, Daisy looked like Lily. She had wavy red hair, high cheekbones and brown eyes like his father and grandfather. The family ate in silence, before the parents asked their kids to join them in the sitting room.
Once they were sat comfortably, James took a deep breath and started "You both know that your grandparents died on Halloween, 1981. We told Harry that the nightmares he gets are of that night when your grandparents died. What you don't know is that they were killed by Voldemort himself. Voldemort and his followers, Death Eaters spoused the pureblood propaganda and bigotry and pushed the country in flames of war. Those were dark times as the Death Eater attacked across country randomly and spread the reign of terror. As you know, your mother herself is a muggleborn, so we never bought to their ideals and fought against them. The wards surrounding our manor are pretty old and strong, maybe that's why Voldemort himself attacked us that night. Your mother and I had to attend a meeting regarding war and left Harry with your grandparents. When he came my parents put up a good fight and somehow vanquished Voldemort that night. When we returned back, we found their bodies and Harry crying hard. No one knows what happened or how it happened, even Dumbledore could not come up with a theory as to why Voldemort was vanquished. But since it caused the end of war, no one gave it a second thought"
Seeing that James could not continue, Lily picked up "Your grandparents' sacrifice made our family famous as they vanquished the Dark Lord. That's why we wear glamour when we visit Diagon Alley. We want you to understand what cost us to become popular as we do not want you to become arrogant and forget why we are praised. That's why we sent you to muggle schools instead of homeschooling because we wanted you to understand the muggle world and not become a bigot"
Listening to the family history, both kids were stunned and vowed to never disrespect their grandparents. Harry's eyes widened in realisation as he understood what his nightmares represent. The sounds, the flashes are probably of the duel between Voldemort and his grandparents and the scream must be his grandmother's. He looked at his parents who were looking with pain-filled eyes as they understood what he dreamt. Lily rose from her seat and gathered her children in her arms as James came and held them all protectively. After quite some time they were ready and apparated to Godric's hollow graveyard to pay their respects.
