Skye could hear Rocky's laugh before Rocky nodded.
Skye giggled as Rubble wolfed down Rocky's portion of breakfast. Or what was left of Rocky's breakfast. Not much.
Rubble sighed in satisfaction, licking his lips. "Yum," he practically purred as he bounced over to Ryder.
"What time are we going back to the lookout, Ryder?" He wondered with big eyes.
"In a couple hours. I thought you pups would like to stay a bit longer and hang around Everest, Tracker, and Rex. We barely see them as it is without missions." Ryder informed as Skye continued to munch on her breakfast.
"True, amigos! I love hanging out with you! Me encanta pasar el rato contigo!" Tracker backed as his tail went back and forth in a wag.
Skye giggled. "We love hanging out with you too, Tracker," she woofed.
Skye could feel someone's gaze pierce through her fur.
She lifted her head to gaze around the pups still eating to see who was watching her.
Whoever was watching her had stopped because everyone else was either chomping down their food or munching it down like her. Though, Chase seemed suspicious.
He was eating far slower than anyone else and his eyes seemed to be trailing over every pup as he ate.
By the time everyone was finished, Ryder dismissed them to play.
Skye was excited to play with her friends.
What should we play now? Should we finish our game or play a new one? Pup pup boogie is always a classic, but we can also play hide and seek and games like that. They never get old. Skye thought as she watched Marshall trip over Rubble.
"Sorry Rubble!" Marshall apologized.
For a second Rubble's face seemed really upset, but then he just laughed it off. It was like they were all afraid of being mad at each other, even for a good reason.
"It's alright, Marshall!" Rubble then ran over to Skye.
"Hi, Skye! Want to play a game with me?" He asked.
Then Chase approached her as well. "Hey! If you're going to play a game together can I join, Rubble? Three players are better than two." Chase woofed.
Rubble happily nodded.
"Of course!"
"But what are we going to play?" Skye wonders, as she puts a paw on her muzzle.
"Hmm," Chase and Rubble chorus before gazing at each other and laughing.
They have such good smiles. My friends are all pretty cool! Skye thought as Rocky approached.
Marshall was off playing tag with Rex, Tracker, and Zuma. They were all giggling while having fun.
Everest was talking with Ryder about another possible sleepover.
"I really enjoyed this sleepover Ryder. Maybe at some point in the future we can have another one with your other friends, Ella and Tuck?" She suggests.
Ryder laughed. "Of course, Everest. Maybe we can even convince Sweetie, Hubcap, Dwayne, and Gasket to join us. They've been awfully quiet in causing mischief. Maybe they've changed for the better. Would be excellent."
Everest nodded. "I would love to see Sweetie change her ways. She's a nice pup, especially when her Princess is in danger."
Everest laughed.
"I've got an idea! How about leap frog?" Rocky suggests.
"Brilliant!" Chase barked with a tail wag, before trying to contain his excitement and make it serious.
Skye sighed internally.
"Yeah," Skye decided to agree. "That's a brilliant idea, Rocky!"
"Who will be it first?" Rubble wonders.
"I'll be it." Chase decided sternly.
"No, I will!" Rocky barked.
"Excuse me?" Chase growled.
"Guys? What's going on? It doesn't matter who goes first. We will all get a turn later." Rubble remarked with a whimper, his ears folding in surprise at the sudden growl Chase had.
"Yeah. It's no big deal. We can flip a dog treat or decide with straws. You two don't have to fight over it. We will all get a turn. That's a part of the game!" Skye whined.
Skye didn't fully understand why they decided to start fighting. Usually they were civil with who would go first.
In the good name of the Princess of Barkingburg, they were always telling each other to go first.
What happened?
Rocky looked up with his orange-brown eyes in shock.
He seemed just as shocked as Skye and Rubble with how he was acting.
"I'm sorry," he quickly apologized. "I don't know what came over me, Chase. I didn't mean to be aggressive. I just really wanted to be the leap frog first."
Chase was also frozen. His face frowned. He was thinking about something obviously.
"Yeah," Chase woofed absentmindedly. "You—We did go a bit too far and aggressive."
Chase didn't apologize to Rocky. He just turned to Rubble and Skye.
"Sorry I raised my voice, Skye, Rubble. Just been having so many different thoughts. I'm used to being the leader here, I forget outside of missions I am not in charge. Rocky you can be the leap frog. I'm sorry I had any sort of argument with you. We should be getting along, not fighting." Chase commented, stating mostly at Skye.
Hmmm.
"I agree, now let's—"
At that moment Ryder's phone rang and he answered it with a long sigh after stopping the call.
"I'm sorry pups, but Adventure Bay needs us again. There's a cat in the water where Cap'n Turbot was researching the marine life, and he informed me that the cat is not only drowning, but disturbing the marine life." Ryder informs.
"Aww, I was really looking forward to those extra hours." Tracker whined.
"It was really good seeing you," Everest woofed as she hugged each pup individually. She gave extra long hugs to Skye, and Marshall.
"It was really good seeing you too, Everest. I can't believe..." Marshall began before Everest interrupted. "Me neither. I can't believe you can't have a break. Meanwhile here I am as the mountain pup waiting for snow so I can rescue others." Everest sighed.
"I wish it would snow so you can come." Rubble whined as he faced Everest a hug.
"Guys you're making this harder than it has to be. Chop chop. Let's get going." Chase barked as he quickly gave Rex a hug.
Rex seemed unsatisfied with the short hug.
"Ah, you're right! Well, good luck! Thanks for coming over!" Everest barked as they opened the door and left.
"Pups, to the Paw Patroller."
Skye nodded.
"Ryder needs us!"
They all piled in to the Paw Patroller, Robo Dog barking greetings to them.
Marshall didn't even crash. He was so sad they didn't get to hang out as much as he wanted with Everest.
"Don't worry, Marshall. We will get more time with her next time!" Rocky tried.
Marshall weakly smiled.
"I know, it's just I wish our job to Adventure Bay wasn't so frequent. Sometimes it feels like...we need a break." Marshall woofed.
Yeah. It does feel like some of our rescues are more about rescuing the Mayor's chicken over anything else. Sometimes there are big disasters, but it's something we can always handle. Yeah...maybe we do deserve a bigger break. Skye thought miserably as she took her place besides Rubble.
"Paw Patrol, ready for action Ryder, Sir!" Chase barked seriously when they were in place.
All the dogs turned their head towards Ryder, and at attention.
"Thanks for giving up your last few hours of playtime with Rex, Everest, and Tracker, pups. As you all know, Cap'n Turbot has found a cat drowning in the middle of the bay. Not only is that cat in danger, but that cat is also polluting the water with some plastic rings. According to Cap'n Turbot, the cat got it's paw stuck in the plastic rings, and fell into the ocean. Right now, Cap'n Turbot is doing everything he can to stop the cat from drowning, but the cat is struggling too much. That's why I need Zuma. To rescue the cat using your hovercraft , and make sure it's comfortable and safe." Ryder informed.
Zuma's hovercraft popped up on the screen, showing what Zuma would be doing.
"Let's dive in!" Zuma exclaimed.
"Chase! I'll need your traffic cones and megaphone in order to clear the beach, so people know there's a cat in the water. We don't want people going into that water and blocking Zuma from helping the cat."
Chase straightened up. "Chase is on the Case!" He barked.
"And I'll need...Rocky. Since this cat got it's paws stuck in some plastic rings on the beach it's highly likely that we might need to clean the beach. That's why I need you."
Rocky yipped in excitement.
"Paw patrol is on a roll!" Ryder exclaimed as all the pups howled.
Immediately, the Paw Patroller took off towards the beach, and Rocky ran towards his vehicle right away.
He barked and his vehicle opened up, allowing him to go inside it.
He waited as the paw patroller made it's way to the beach.
Skye sighed. Oh I hope that poor cat is alright. Sounds like quite the pickle to get yourself in.
The Paw Patroller stopped, and Rocky immediately began to drive his vehicle as the paw patroller opened to let him out.
