Sonic The Hedgehog Chapter 25: Storming the Death Egg, a sonic the hedgehog fanfic

The Death Egg

Sonic hits the brakes first. "Wait. Sonic Squad, huddle up." Tails and Knuckles oblige, creating the first huddle of three they have had (so far). "Alright. Anyone got a good plan?"

"We go in and destroy everything."

"I'd love that, but egghead's smart. It sucks."

Tails digs into his mind for an answer. Robotnik's the biggest Sonic the Hedgehog hater to exist yet. "Hmm.."

"What's up, Tails?"

"What is the fox plotting?"

Tails eyes light up. "I got it. We have to get to Eggman, but he REALLY doesn't like you, Sonic."

"Oh yeah, that's obvious."

"So..just hear this out: could you distract Robotnik long enough for me and Knuckles to break in?" Tails asks. "He may be smart, but he has his weak spots."

Sonic winks. "Nice observation, pal. Plans easy. I'll just do what I always do: piss off the Doctor."

"Exactly.." Tails turns to Knuckles. "We'll be going together."

"I have been waiting to mentor." The Echidna admits. "Your flight and my strength will make us an unstoppable pair."

Sonic nods. "Right."

Walters forces himself in. "What do I do? I don't have my military here."

"You should hang back and get backup." Tails says. "We could use it as another distraction."

"I respect your confidence in that." Walters admits, leaving the huddle. He pulls a walkie talkie out of the doctors sight.

"Requesting backup at the Sky Sanctuary…"

"What's taking you so long?! Just come in and die already!"

Sonic stretches a hip. "Oh we're just giving you the chance to revel in it."

"That doesn't begin until after you're long gone!"

"Good luck with that, little bro."

"I AM NOT YOUR BROTHER!"

Sonic snickers at his rage. "Pout, pout, pout. You're like a spoiled one too."

With their planning phase done with, the trio rushes into battle. This shuttle is much bigger than the Death Egg Robot. The blue and white color scheme doesn't mesh with Robotnik's personality, but the insides of his next marvelous creation had to be made of SOMETHING.

"Doesn't look so samey this time. Shame we're gonna rip this baby apart."

Sonic turns to see posters draped over the wall, depicting Robotnik as a strong warrior, standing over his enemies. There's even one where he literally has the Earth in his hands. Sonic rubs a finger on some, removing the mustache.

"HANDS OFF THE MERCHANDISE!"

"What did you expect?" Sonic chuckles, charging into and wiping out a big margin of Badniks. They are just too small and limited to really leave a mark.

"I ought to evolve.."

"You ought to to avoid this clobbering."

"I didn't ask for YOUR INPUT!"

While Sonic's busy, Knuckles gives an order to Tails. "Curl up."

"Why?"

"I will invent new teamwork." Tails curls up, and Knuckles takes him into a hand. He bounces the Fox off those Badniks like it's ping pong, eliminating the oncoming ones at the entrance. A metal bat comes swooping in, but Tails flies up and holds it in place.

"Now!"

One punch, and it's destroyed. Knuckles punches the next door in, to see metal Dragonfly's launching sharp stingers at him. He's able to pull Tails out of the way. A few Madmoles throws wrenches. One knicks Tails in the leg, but he rolls under the next one.

"Fox! Do as I do!" Knuckles yells, knocking one of those dragonfly's out! It's body still lives on, so Knuckles uses that to swat the others from the air! He even uses it as a shield from toxic stingers.

"I am untouchable."

A mad mole hurls a wrench his way, but the Echidna bats it back with the dragonfly! "One mole eliminated.

Tails flies around to dodge the stingers, and positions himself behind a Dragonfly. It's comrade commits friendly fire, giving Tails a new weapon! He bats a stinger away, and bashes an oncoming Mole back into the ground.

"Woah.." he mutters, flying around to deal more damage. He sees Knuckles grab a second dragonfly, dual-wielding. Tails copies him, and it gets a smile from the Echidna.

"THAT is the way of a warrior."

Tails nervously chuckles, glancing at his new weapons. "They shouldn't wake up…right?"

"We will beat them again."

That's all Knuckles leaves him with, charging into the next room. Tails flies along.

While his allies hold up their end of the plan, Sonic's face to face with a dozen Egg Robos. Can't say they look like carbon copies. The 'staches and shape are similar, but the steel parts easily distinguish them from the real deal.

"I'm all for loving yourself, but you're doing too much, Eggman."

He hears a chuckle through the intercom. "Oh you cruel, ignorant hedgehog. These aren't here to feed a starving ego. These are my brand new upgrades! You see—"

Sonic's already put holes in all of them. "What am I looking at?"

"…I hate you."

"Not my first hater, egghead. Hope you got the next room warmed up for me."

Sonic takes off into the next room. He has to use the springs first.

BOING!

Sonic gets launched right into a blue blast! He gets sent through a couple crates, feeling the sting from the wood.

"Ho-Ho-Ho! You forgot about somebody!" Robotnik taunts.

"You just don't go away, do ya?" Sonic asks, pulling some wood off his quills. Mecha Sonic is the source of the blast, still dawning that hole in his chest. His visors flicking on and off though.

"I will always…return."

Sonic points at his chest. "You're gonna shut down any second."

Mecha goes RIGHT for his jugular, substituting his left hand for a massive chainsaw. Sonic runs up to the roof and stomps through that arm! Mecha's free arm grabs Sonic by his quills, and throws him at the wall!

"Resistence is—"

Sonic spindashes through the machines right leg. Mecha turns his head back like a freak, and fires his vision beam at his enemy! Sonic runs along the wall just to avoid the lethal trail following him, before hopping onto Mecha's shoulder. He does a flip in the air, and comes back down with a brutal stomp that almost caves Mecha's head in!

His visor flickers again. Mecha collapses onto his back. Sonic turns to the next room. "Geez. You just wouldn't go down would ya?"

Green lightning shocks Sonic from the side! Robotnik teleports through the wall, with a sick look of pleasure on his face. "FINALLY! I have you right where I want you!"

"AGH…"

Robotnik laughs at the shock treatment. "Ho-Ho-Ho-Ho! Not so good on the receiving end, is it?"

Sonic tries crawling to the door, but the raw pain those volts are shooting through his body practically keep him down. This electricity is unlike any other. Electricity powered with the Master Enerald? That's real pain. "E-Eggman…"

"Don't beg for mercy NOW." Sonic's twitchy smile catches the Doctor off guard. "Why are you doing that? STOP THIS AT ONCE!"

"G-got…surprise.."

The Death Egg rattles from an impact! Robotnik almost falls from his floating form, and grumbles at the situation. He shoots Sonic a look of raw hatred. "Another bail out…"

Probotnik teleports to his control room, and sees a dozen of attack helicopters, firing little rockets at his creation. When his pupils glow green, the eyes of the devilish structure glow the same. In one fell swoop, those green lasers decimate the backup! All of G.U.N support, smashed just like that.

Walters and a few others drop out with parachutes. Before Walters can activate his, Robotnik teleports beneath him! "Hello!"

"Oh!"

In a flash, Walters gets thrown to the floor of the Death Egg. A sneering Robotnik sets a foot on his chest. "My offer still stands. Ensure the government surrenders to me, or cities will get wiped off the face of the map."

"I don't negotiate with terrorists.." Walters tries shoving him off, but gets a little shock.

"Don't fight back. Your heart can't take much more."

"WE CAN."

Robotnik turns around to see Tails—wait no, five Tails—no, THIRTY Tails fly in. No matter where the doctor looks, he can always see a good eight. "You think you can trick ME?"

"I'm over here!"

He zaps one..nope.

"Missed me!"

Zaps another. Not real.

"Looks like you missed a spot!"

Zaps three more. No luck.

"That's ENOUGH!" Robotnik shouts, creating a shockwave to zap every one. He even gets the real Tails, who finds himself on his tails again. "You've been getting braver, kid.." Robotnik creates a green bolt. "But your road ends here."

Knuckles punches Robotnik so hard, his Master Emerald floats out! The Doctor crashes onto his keyboard, and rolls onto the floor. Knuckles forces the Fox onto his feet. "Are you injured?"

"His electricity kinda hurt.." Tails straightens some of his fur out. The pain sucks, but his distraction plan seems to have worked. All they have to do now is escape.

Knuckles grabs the Master Emerald and stares into it for the first time. He believed it to be lost forever, but there it is. All that power, in his hands. "Go get the hedgehog. I will make an escape route." Knuckles gets ready to punch through a wall..

SWOOSH!

A dart hits his shoulder! He pulls it out, and looks puzzled at whatever this is. "I have been shot, Fox. The weapon is making..me..sleepy." Knuckles collapses, dropping the Master Emerald in the process. Before Tails can even run over, Robotnik's already hugging it!

"NO!"

The Doctor caresses the emerald. "That was a solid plan. Not bad for a group of furry nuisances. ONE problem.." Robotnik, condescendingly, raises a finger. "I don't make solid plans. I make phenomenal ones. Did you think I'd leave this ultimate power behind?"

"You left ME!"

Both intellects turn to the source. Sonic tackles Robotnik into the giant screen! It shatters on impact! They hit the floor with that emerald, and get into a tug of war over it.

"You can let go at any time."

"No shot, Eggman."

"Brrrr..you just have to ruin my marvelous schemes!"

"Then they aren't really MarVeLoUs are they?"

Robotnik steps on Sonic's shoe, but Sonic pays him back with a HARSH zone. "Youch!"

"Feet off the merchandise."

The emerald starts glowing. Robotnik has green crackles, Sonic has golden ones. With one flash of white…They're gone. Tails crawls over to Knuckles and shakes him. "Knuckles, please get up!"

Nothing from the echidna.

"Oh no.." Tails ears droop. He rushes to the window, but can't seem to track either of them. The Fox inhales, and gets a look at the shattered pieces of the screen. Without that, he can't navigate the system. He walks up to a control panel, surprisingly, non holo-graphic. "I'll give it my best shot.."

While Tails tries to find any way of navigation for the Death Egg..the creators floating right above it, cackling at his hands. "Those pests actually believed they could pull that on ME!

"Forgot about someone."

Robotnik turns around to see his WORST nightmare: SUPER SONIC. "Nice upgrades, Doctor."

That confident smirk, and calmness in the hedgehog makes the doctors face go red. "Enough with 'Doctor.' After I'm done you'll call me MASTER!"

Super Sonic versus Master Robotnik.

This battle is going to devastate any structure it comes across.

This chapter ends lol. Cliffhanger! Next chapter features one of the more extreme fight scenes to date for this story. Hell it may be THE most extreme one. Get ready for some nutty action next time, as this story arc reaches its conclusion.
