BACKSTORY

TONY STARK had sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos and his army, but he was now alive.

STEVE ROGERS came up with the resurrection idea. Unfortunately, he was met with challenge. PETER PARKER, SAM, and BUCKY wanted to help him resurrect Tony, while RHODEY, BRUCE, and CLINT did not. "It wasn't what Tony would want," they had said.

They were at a standstill, so Peter suggested they vote on it. The vote came to a tie, 4-4, thanks to SCOTT LANG siding with Bruce and them. Unbeknownst to them, Scott was playing both sides. He had voted no, but decided to help Steve out anyway. He told Steve to seek Thor's help; maybe he'd be able to do something with his godly powers, Scott assumed.

Steve now had a plan, thanks to Scott. His team, which consisted of Sam, Bucky, and Peter, had snuck to New Asgard, but the rest of the team had stopped them before they could board the jet. That's how the iconic Civil War airport fight began.

Unfortunately, footage had leaked of the fight. America now hated the Avengers, and considered Mysterio to be their new savior.

QUENTIN BECK, aka Mysterio, was a wizard-like superhero who had appeared out of nowhere after Tony's death. He had made his debut by fighting a water monster in Italy, and then, with Spider-Man's help, a fire monster in New Jersey. The people trusted him enough to give him the title of "The Next Iron Man." Peter also trusted him enough to give him Tony's EDITH glasses...

As for the Avengers, Steve and Bucky were able to make it New Asgard, but Thor had refused to help. That changed once he saw people calling Mysterio the next Iron Man. That enraged him, so he decided to help bring his friend back, but unfortunately, the plan didn't work and all hope was lost.

Fortunately for them, MARIA HILL came up with a new plan—the GH-325 plan. It was a serum that could heal severe and fatal wounds, and in some cases, could even revive the recently deceased. That was how Maria planned to bring Tony Stark back to life.

Unfortunately for her, she had to talk to her old buddy PHIL COULSON about the serum, since that was how he was also brought back to life. Coulson and his Agents—Daisy Johnson, Melinda May, Leopold Fitz, and Jemma Simmons were against the plan because of the nasty side effects of GH-325. However, Grant Ward told Maria he had a vial of the serum, and was willing to lead the Avengers to it. He kept his word, and of course, that confrontation ended with a fight between The Avengers and the Agents of SHIELD. The original Avengers also weren't happy to learn Coulson had secretly been alive the entire time...

While the chaos erupted, Bruce and Rhodey had injected Tony with the serum, and staying true to form, it had resurrected him. That was how the great Tony Stark had gotten his second chance at life.

Now, Tony found himself having to fix the Avengers' image, while keeping them from killing one another. Will he succeed, or will the Avengers fallout beyond repair?

Authors note: This story takes place right after Endgame, but incorporates some plots from Civil War. (Those events haven't happened yet, except the airport fight) I know that seems confusing, but it actually flows pretty well.

Honestly, I wrote this story for fun back in 2019, so don't take it too seriously. I was younger and my imagination was wild, so if some things seem goofy, that's why. There's going to be lots of drama, (it's called fallout for a reason) and some avengers may act out of character at times. And of course everyone lives in New York for convenience lmao

Just enjoy the entertainment. And this is my first time posting in this fandom, and it's intimidating, so please be nice.
