Crowler's Office: After School…

Crowler was within his office where he wrote detailed reports on duels he'd been having with his students. Save the four preparing for their duels, the ancient gear user had dueled all his first years. As a teacher, who now took his job seriously, he saw a way to multi-task.

He could prepare for his own coming duel while giving his student the instruction they needed. Of course, had he done this before the events of the abandoned dorm, he would have given back grades and been done with it. Now, he took the time to explain where the students went wrong.

For those who beat him, he could still make suggestions while those who were unlucky would receive suggested improvements for their decks. Just as he stacked the last report, the door to his office was thrown open, and Seto Kaiba strolled into the room.

"Mr. Kaiba, I was not aware you were coming to the academy." Crowler stated, stunned.

While the ancient gear user had heard a commotion outside, he was too far to register names, so it simply sounded like a gripping duel. In essence, he hadn't known until now that Seto Kaiba was on the island.

Said man, had met with Sheppard to go over things from his side before informing him to call the three he trusted to his office the dark before the tag duels. He then left his wife and kids with Mokuba, who'd settle them in at temporary lodging, before coming straight here.

"Let's cut the pleasantries, Crowler." Seto voiced. "You were given lectures from a student and your vice chancellor; however, I want you to grasp the situation. To understand exactly where you stand. My brother and I founded the academies to teach the next generation.

Our first academy, Central Academy, was founded on this island specifically for its volcano. It's to simulate duels one could find themselves in and the toll it can take on the body. In essence, it's to prepare the next generation for duels akin to those I and people I know have faced.

Despite that, there are contingencies, while not capable of stopping the absolute worst cases, to ensure the student's safety. What you did by bringing that man to my island had no such contingencies. He proved himself a danger, and that's just your biggest mistake.

You cut a third of our applicants last year for not identifying you as 'doctor', attempted to get a student expelled, and bought practically every rare card sent to this island as a means of then making that same student look bad. At every turn, you've been a disappointment.

Despite your mistakes, it was decided you'd get one chance to salvage your career. Let me be crystal clear, whoever Mokuba matches you against, you will duel to the best of your abilities. If you lose, your career in the dueling world is finished. I'll see to it personally.

If you pull off the victory, there will be no more chances. The next time you step out of line, I will personally come to this island and make you wish it was only your career you lost." He turned from the man. "Should you mess up again, don't even think of running. I will find you."

As Seto walked out, Crowler paled. Despite recognizing he deserved everything he was getting; it didn't make the words spoken any less terrifying. The ancient gear user didn't know if any part of who had been remained, but he was determined to eradicate those parts if they did.

Obelisk Male Dorm

After the duel between Seto and Zane, Kai had parted from Greg, Syrus, and Jaden. The war challengers user then made his way back to the Obelisk dorm, only to spot Chazz Princeton outside it.

Upon seeing Kai, he smirked and stepped into his path. "About time you made it."

"Can you move?" Kai asked.

"Not happening, disgrace." Chazz voiced. "Everyone's heard of your upcoming duel to the point you clearly don't deserve to be an Obelisk. That's why I intend to put you in your place."

"If you think attempting to save fellow students makes me a disgrace, I don't want to know what you think a proper Obelisk is." Kai brushed past his fellow Obelisk. "Fact is, I've already been judged by the staff and nothing about my place in this dorm came into question."

He then opened the door and walked in, having nothing further to say. While Kai felt their conversation was over, Chazz clearly wasn't going to let this end like their last conversation. He immediately followed the war challengers user.

"You don't seem to understand." Chazz declared. "We're going to duel, disgrace, and I'll be putting you in your place."

"Nice rhyme; however, I don't owe you or your ego a thing." Kai retorted, not even bothering to look back.

"You're pathetic." Chazz snarled. "Even more so than all your Slifer and Ra pals."

The war challengers user stopped upon hearing that. "If Slifers like Jaden and Greg are pathetic, what does that say about you?"

"You've seen my skills." Chazz retorted. "Can you really say all your little friends would do well against me? Some of them are no better than fourth-rate duelists which I can systematically grind into the dirt if you really don't feel like dueling me."

"Talk all you want at me, but the moment you make a threat like that…" Kai whirled around with a firm expression. "Since you want to threaten my friends, I'll grind you into the ground."

Chazz grinned smugly as he finally got at the war challengers user. They parted, with any Obelisk there gathering to watch. All the pre duel words had already been exchanged, so the two duelists activated their duel disks before drawing their starting hands.

"Let's Duel!"

(Kai 4000/Chazz 4000)

Topher, like many other Obelisks on the second floor, came to the railing where he looked down at the duel. "Figured it was only a matter of time before this happened. Given I've moved passed thinking Chazz is anything special, Kai's likely got this."

After getting out from under Chazz's thumb, Topher found himself not caring about something as trivial as what blazer you wore. In fact, that exam duel with Chumley was the last time such thoughts crossed his mind. In accordance, his grudge with Kai faded.

He no longer cared about the Ra Reject who beat him. That's not to say he was content to let the fact he lost to Kai go. If anything, the realizations and growth he had merely made the dragon user want to beat the now war challengers user more than he had before.

"I'll make this quick." Kai drew. "I normal summon Heroic Challenger – Thousand Blades(LV 4/1300/1100)." A silver armored warrior, with blades on his back, appeared. "Once per turn that this monster is in attack position, I can discard a Heroic card from my hand.

Then, I can special summon any Heroic monster from my deck, and Thousand Blades goes to defense." He sent Heroic Challenger – Night Watchman. "I now summon Heroic Challenger – Extra Sword(LV 4/1000/1000)." A green and white warrior, wielding two blades, appeared.

"Now, I construct the overlay network with my two monsters. I call forth the king of wishes. Xyz summon Number 39: Utopia(R 4/O 2/2500/2000)." A gold and white warrior appeared. "Any Xyz monster created using Extra Sword gains 1000 ATK upon being Xyz summoned."

Number 39: Utopia(R 4/O 2/3500/2000 effect)

"Your first big play is some powered up Number with no answer for practically any fusion I'm capable of making?" Chazz snarked.

"Worry about your cards while I worry about mine." Kai retorted. "Speaking of which, I now set two cards to end my turn."

"Let me show you how a real Obelisk does it." Chazz drew. "I summon Y-Dragon Yearhead(LV 4/1500/1600)." The red machine dragon appeared. "I then activate Unauthorized Reactivation to target 1 machine-type monster I control, like Y-Dragon Yearhead.

I'm now permitted to equip an appropriate union monster from my handor deck." He took a card from his deck. "I equip Yearhead with Z-Zillion Tank." The yellow tank appeared. Since I control 1 Light Union monster, I can special summon X-Xross Canon(LV 4/1800/1600)."

The new X-Head Canon appeared. "Start your engines gentlemen!" His three monsters flew up. "Fusion summon XYZ-Hyper Dragon Cannon(LV 8/3000/2800)." The sleeker XYZ-Dragon Cannon appeared.

"I activate my first face down, Breakthrough Skill." Kai countered. "The effects of your XYZ-Hyper Dragon Canon are negated until the end of this turn."

"You got lucky." Chazz growled. "No matter how hard you try, I'll break you down and show everyone you don't belong in this dorm." He took a card from his hand with a grin. "With the trap E.M.R, I'll be able to wipe three cards next turn." He nodded. "I set one card."

"Before you end your turn, I activate my second set Dust Tornado." Kai returned. "Now, I can destroy whatever you just set."

Chazz went wide eyed. "What!?"

"Is that all you had left, or will you through up something else to defend with?" Kai questioned sternly.

"Er, I end my turn." Chazz declared.

"I draw." Kai stated. "Before you try to use your monster, I can banish Breakthrough Skill from my grave to repeat his effect for this turn. Now, Utopia will attack XYZ-Hyper Dragon Cannon; however, I'll negate that attack through his effect by detaching one overlay unit."

Number 39: Utopia(R 4/O 1/3500/2000 effect) had drawn his blade, only to cease his attack as he used up an overlay unit.

"This is exactly why you're nothing but a Ra Reject, no matter the blazer you wear." Chazz taunted with a smirk. "You're supposed to use that effect to negate my attacks."

"You know Chazz, you'd have a point…if I didn't have the quick-play spell Double or Nothing." Kai retorted as he played it from his hand. "Whenever a monster's attack is negated, they get to attack again at double their strength."

Number 39: Utopia(R 4/O 1/7000/2000 effect)

Chazz's eyes widened in shock as the gathered Obelisk stared on in disbelief.

"Utopia, end this with Rising Sun Slash!" Kai shouted.

Utopia drew two blades and lunged forward to slash through the fusion. Chazz let out a deafening roar of 'no' as all his life points were taken by a single attack (Kai 4000/Chazz 0). The union user collapsed to his knees as those around them began to murmur.

"He lost again, ant to a one turn kill to boot."

"Wasn't he supposed to be the top freshman?"

"Seems that was an exaggeration."

"Shut up!" Chazz yelled as he lept to his feet. "Don't you dare look down on me!" Despite his cries, the murmurs continued, and his eyes flickered across the crowd before rounding on the war challengers user. "This isn't over."

"You don't get to make threats." Kai turned away from him. "Now, stay away from my friends. If I hear you've done anything to them, you and I are going to have problems."

The war challengers user then strolled away while Chazz growled and stormed out of the dorm. With their source of entertainment gone, the crowd dispersed; however, Topher lingered a few seconds longer.

"In less than two months from our first duel, Kai's already several levels ahead." The dragon user gripped the railing firmly. "How has improved that much in such a short time?"

Topher was not blind to the facts. If he challenged Kai now, his dragons wouldn't stand a chance of victory. It's not like all he did was complain after his loss to Kai. He'd improved, yet such improvements seemed insignificant by comparison.

Ocean: Night…

It was a foggy night as two men were on a rowboat. One of them was steering while the other was sitting at the front and staring in the direction at hand. The man at the front was muscular with a face identical to a certain Slifer. He was wearing a white muscle shirt and black pants.

"Put your back into it." The man declared. "I want to reach Academy Island by daybreak."

"Yes sir." The other man replied in a strained voice.

"I won't have my son wasting one more slacking day at that school. Chumley's coming home."

Academy Island: 3 Days before the Duels…

The five who would duel had been preparing themselves. Now, it was all about taking these final days to relax and truly digest that preparation. One such duelist, Jaden, was relaxing under a tree near school.

"This is the life." The Slifer sighed contently. "Green grass, some warm sunshine, my own private..."

"JADEN!" Syrus yelled.

"Huh?" Jaden sat up and saw Syrus running in his direction. "Maybe not so private."

"Jaden, you've got to come quick." Syrus stated. "Something terrible has happened."

"Traps test." Jaden guessed. "You flunked, huh?"

"Actually, I got a B." Syrus declared proudly before then getting serious again. "But…but that's not the reason I came here. It's Chumley. His dad just showed up, and he's here to force Chumley to drop out!"

"Drop out!?" Jaden's eyes widened. "No way! Not our buddy!"

Slifer Dorm

The pair ran to the dorm where Slifers were standing outside Professor Banner's room. The pair forced themselves to the front of the pack, where Dimitri and Greg were already standing, and looked inside to see what was happening. Banner was sitting with Chumley's dad.

"I mean, don't get me wrong." Mr. Huffington stated. "If Chumley was any good at dueling, it'd be one thing, but clearly he's not. He's wasting his time here. It's time for him to give up dueling and come home."

"I see your point. Chumley is a bit uh…" Banner started chuckling while choosing his words in front of the father.

"He's a bit dense, you can say that." Mr. Huffington declared. "That's why I want him to come home and join the family business." He slammed his fist on the table while talking. "The hot sauce business." He paused for a moment. "Do you like hot sauce?"

"Oh yes. I love it." Banner stated quickly, trying to be on the man's good side. "I can't get enough of it."

"Loud and clear. Here." Huffington reached down and placed a big bottle on the table. "Free sample."

"Oh no, I really couldn't." Banner politely tried to refuse.

"Oh yes, you could." Mr. Huffington glared at the teacher. "Just think of it as a goodbye gift from me and Chumley."

"So, he's really dropping out?" Syrus asked his friends.

"Not if we can help it." Jaden replied. "Come on, we've got to talk some sense into him."

As the pair took off, Greg and Dimitri shared a look before following them. Chumley was their friend too after all.

Syrus. Jaden, and Chumley's Room

"Chumley." Jaden called out as he opened the door.

When they got in, they saw him on his knees as he packed things into his backpack.

"What are you doing Chumley?" Greg asked.

"What does it look like?" He retorted harshly.

"It looks like you're giving up." Dimitri replied.

"Like you're taking everything you worked for and throwing it away." Jaden continued. "Like you're abandoning all your dreams. All your dueling goals…And you don't even care!" As he grabbed the beast user's shoulder and turned him around, everyone saw the tears.

"Chumley?" Greg asked.

"He does care." Syrus realized.

"I just got something in my eye, okay?" Chumley replied. "Both of them. Just leave me alone, would ya?" He attempted to rub his tears away with his sleeve. "I mean, it's not like I'm worth wasting your time on anyhow. At least, according to my dad I'm not."

"Have you tried talking to him about your feelings?" Dimitri asked.

"Whenever I try, it always goes back being about hot sauce." Chumley retorted.

Jaden had enough of this as he grabbed Chumley's arm. "Come on."

Sheppard's Office

The five Slifer boys went to see Chancellor Sheppard to explain the situation. Mr. Huffington and Banner were also there to hear them out.

"Chumley can't drop out because he's been doing better." Jaden stated.

"Yeah." Syrus agreed. "His grades are up, and he hasn't missed a single class beyond the first week of this year."

"He's rarely been late to boot." Greg defended.

"All that small stuff doesn't matter if he never wins a single duel." Huffington declared causing Chumley to look down at hearing his dad's comment.

Dimitri glared at the man as the fixation of losses hit a little too close to home for him given how hard that first month here had become.

"Look, I know Chumley." Jaden vouched. "I'm his roommate and pal."

"Me too." Syrus added.

"Dimitri and I aren't roommates of his, but he's our pal to." Greg voiced.

"Chumley has plenty more of them all over the island." Dimitri stated.

"Look boys, I respect you for sticking up for your friend, but I'm afraid this is a personal matter." Sheppard spoke. "It's not your business."

"That's right, it's family business." Huffington added.

"But sir…" Jaden tried.

The muscular man interrupted him. "Which is why I propose a duel."

"Huh?" Chumley was surprised.

"That's right. Father versus son." Huffington continued. "Despite your dueling record, I'm rusty myself. If you've really improved, you should have no trouble beating me. Accomplish it, and I'll let you stay at the academy. Should you lose, you come home."

Chumley's look changed to one of determination. "It's a deal."

"Then, let's duel first thing tomorrow morning. How does that sound chancellor?"

"So be it. Tomorrow morning it will be decided. Will Chumley stay or go?"

Academy Island

"What'd I tell you?" Jaden asked as the boys left the main building, accompanied by Banner. "It was a piece of cake to convince Chumley's dad to let him stay."

"Jaden, we just convinced him to a duel." Syrus pointed out. "Chumley still has to win if he's going to stay."

"Come on." Jaden brushed it aside. "Chumley's dad doesn't know how to duel."

"Jaden, the man said he was rusty." Greg stated. "That must mean he at minimum knows how to duel."

"Plus, we just met this man." Dimitri added. "Save for his hot sauce business, we don't know anything about him. He might be an expert."

"Those two have the right idea as years ago Mr. Huffington was a state duel champion for three years." Banner informed. "Why do you think he was so insistent Chumley go to this school? He wanted his son to be like him. Oh, wait until you see his deck.

As you all know, he earns a living with his special hot sauce. Well, his deck reflects the kick. It can take you out in one turn, like a spicy buffalo wing takes you out in one bite." The boys gasped. "And all the morning after."

"So, Chumley accepted knowing that?" Jaden asked, resulting in the boys turning towards their friend who had an expression of grim determination. "Then, Chumley must really want to stay here, huh?"

"If that's the case, let's go get his deck ready." Dimitri declared.

Slifer Dorm: Night…

Professor Banner and Mr. Huffington were sitting down to eat dinner, which included a large bottle of hot sauce.

"Ah, come on." Huffington poured some sauce in Banner's cup. "Just a little more hot sauce. You can handle it."

"You are so very generous." He replied politely.

"My pleasure, and your cat's from the look of it." Mr. Huffington said as he looked at Pharaoh who was slurping hot sauce from his dish.

"Good thing I stocked up on kitty litter." Banner commented.

"Oh, speaking of, nature calls." Huffington stood and walked out the door.

As soon as he left, he heard talking from a room above.

Syrus, Jaden, and Chumley's Room

"This is a fairly decent beast deck, all things considered." Dimitri pointed out.

Jaden, Syrus, Dimitri, and Greg were all in the room as they helped Chumley rebuild and go over his deck in detail.

"Beast monsters are my favorite." Chumley informed.

"Here, try this card out." Syrus handed Chumley a card with a picture of a green kangaroo dressed like a boxer on it. "I got it a while back but never used it. Maybe you can."

"Wow Sy. Really?"

"Yeah, if you join it with one of your koalas, you'll have yourself a deck from down under.

"Since your deck is full of beast type monsters, I got something useful for you." Greg stated.

He revealed a spell card which had a picture of fangs covered by something toxically green.

"If we're handing out spells, I got this while looking for cards to suit the deck I'm building." Dimitri added.

He revealed a spell with a raging gorilla on it.

"You two would really give me cards like these?"

"Well, it's not exactly a card completely useful for my Gladiator Beast as a whole." Greg shrugged. "It'd certainly better suit a deck chalk full of them."

"My deck I'm building is all warriors, so this card won't be of any use to me." Dimitri shrugged. "Besides, we're friends."

Chumley smiled as he accepted the cards.

Jaden realized something. "Oh, I got something for you too." He went to his bed and fished a card from it. "It could really come in handy."

"Huh?" Chumley blinked, curious about what card Jaden had.

Outside, Mr. Huffington heard the boys talk and was contemplating what he just heard.

Practice Room: Morning…

The next morning, Jaden, Syrus, Dimitri, and Greg joined Professor Banner and the Huffingtons inside a practice room. It kind of looked like a ninja dojo.

"Chumley, Mr. Huffington, you both know what the stakes are for this match." Professor Banner said. "If Chumley wins, he gets to stay; however, if he loses, he has to go back home."

"That's right." Mr. Huffington agreed. "Or my hot sauce won't chap your lips."

Banner turned to look at Chumley. "Chumley, you sure you are okay with this? Can you handle going to work for your dad's hot sauce company? Chapped lips."

"I can handle anything." Chumley said as he narrowed his eyes.

Banner nodded his head. "Without further ado, let's begin the duel."

"Alright." Chumley activated his duel disk.

"Go time." His dad did the same.

(Chumley 4000/Mr. Huffington 4000)

"Here I come." Chumley announced as he drew. "Totally lischus. I'll set this monster and turn the duel over to you."

"If that's all you learned, clearly you haven't taken your studies seriously enough." Huffington drew. "Maybe now you'll learn something."

"Watch closely children." Banner spoke to his other students. "You may learn something."

"Seeing as how he's a state champ, I don't doubt it." Jaden said. "I just hope it's not that one turn finisher he's known for."

Syrus, Greg, and Dimitri watched on worriedly.

"Here I come." Mr. Huffington declared. "I summon Dizzy Tiger(LV 4/1800/600) in attack mode." A humanoid tiger appeared before starting to move around uncontrollably.

Chumley was obviously a little confused by the monster's state. "A Dizzy…Tiger?"

"Weird." Dimitri commented.

"Why is he dizzy?" Syrus asked

"It looks like too much hot sauce." Greg responded.

"Dizzy Tiger, attack my son's face down monster." Huffington stated.

The humanoid tiger lunged forward and swung its paw at the face down, which was revealed to be Des Koala(LV 3/1100/1800). The brown Koala held strong against the tiger, repelling his strike.

"You've done it now dad." Chumley declared firmly. "Whenever Des Koala is flipped, my opponent takes damage for every card in their hand multiplied by 400."

Mr. Huffington's eyes widened. "I have five cards in my hand!"

"That means you now take 2000 life points of damage." Chumley declared.

An earthy brown aura washed over the man (Chumley 4000/Mr. Huffington 2000)

"Alright, Chumley just took half his dad's life points!" Jaden celebrated.

"What's more, he even got to keep him monster since Dizzy Tiger's ATK is equal to Des Koala's DEF." Dimitri added.

"Looks like we might be a little late getting home, but the hot sauce will still be good all the same." Mr. Huffington stated. "Your move son."

"I'll tell what you can do with your hot sauce!" Chumley snapped.

"Keep your cool Chumley." Greg advised.

"It's nice he's standing up for himself in front of his dad though." Syrus commented.

Upon receiving a look from Mr. Huffington, the vehicroid user ducked behind Jaden.

"I know." Chumley said exasperated as he drew. "Alright, I now tribute my Koala to summon Behemoth the King of All Animals(LV 7/2000/1500 effect)." A large, purple beast appeared.

"Hold on a moment, that monster is a level 7." Mr. Huffington declared. "That's one level too high to be tribute summoned through one monster."

"Actually, you're wrong because this is the effect of my Behemoth." Chumley retorted sternly. "I can summon him through one tribute in exchange for 700 ATK off what he would be."

"Alright, that's one good monster." Dimitri declared.

"All the same, he was still tribute summoned, so I can return beast-type monsters from my grave to the hand equal to the number of tributes made for Behemoth." Chumley added, retrieving his Des Koala.

"Not bad." Mr. Huffington commented.

"No duh not bad." Chumley stated. "It's only going to get worse as I activate Poison Fangs. Due to this continuous spell, you'll take an extra 500 life points of damage anytime a beast-type monster I control deals battle damage."

"Now, Behemoth will destroy your Dizzy Tiger with Crushing Pounce!" Chumley declared.

Behemoth lunged forward and landed a top Dizzy Tiger, destroying him (Chumley 4000/Mr. Huffington 1800). A sickly green aura then washed over the opposing duelist due to Poison Fangs (Chumley 4000/Mr. Huffington 1300)

"All right!" Jaden cheered. "That's the way you do it."

"So, you want to fight?" Mr. Huffington drew. "Then, let's fight. I call Dizzy Angel(LV 4/1800/600)." The angel-like monster was a man with long blonde hair wearing a white suit and a black hat.

"Now I activate three copies of Hot Sauce Bottle." Three large, red bottles appeared in front of Mr. Huffington's monster. "Then, I activate Flipping the Table."

The ground underneath the dueling field became a low-leg table which flipped. This sent both monsters into the air with Chumley's Behemoth being destroyed.

"What a card!" His dad laughed. "It destroys everything on my field…everything except for itself that is. Then, the same number of cards on your field are also destroyed. Now, you're left defenseless."

"That must be his special one strike attack." Syrus said.

"That's just like you!" Chumley argued. "You don't like something, so you trash it."

Mr. Huffington laughed at his son's words. "I didn't get to be a hot sauce tycoon by being nice son."

Chumley then noticed Dizzy Angel was still on the field. "Hey! Why is Angel still here? Wasn't he destroyed by Flipping the Table?"

"Wishful thinking, but Dizzy Angel has a special ability.' Huffington stated. "He can't be destroyed by the effect of Flipping the Table."

"Great." Chumley groaned.

"It gets worse." Huffington stated. "Whenever Hot Sauce Bottle is destroyed and sent to the grave, its special ability activates. You take 500 points of damage, and since I sent three just now, that's actually 1500 life points of damage."

A red smoke washed over Chumley's field (Chumley 2500/Mr. Huffington 1300). "I'm not done since Dizzy Angel can attack you directly." The angel fired a gush of hot sauce from his bottle (Chumley 700/Huffington 1300)."

"Chumley!" The other Slifers called out worried.

"I just can't win." Chumley stated.

"Don't worry son. This will be over soon." Huffington thought. "Make your move why don't ya?"

"Make sure you think it through; otherwise, you'll be heading home to bottle hot sauce." Banner advised.

"I know." Chumley drew. "I activate Graceful Charity. With it, I can draw three cards from my deck before discarding two from my hand." He drew, and now along with Poison Fangs on the field, he had the cards Syrus, Greg, and Dimitri had given him.

"Here goes nothing." He nodded. "First, I activate Polymerization to fuse Big Koala and Des Kangaroo from my hand. Fusion summon Master of Oz(LV 9/4200/3700)." A creature with a kangaroo-like body, but a koala-like face appeared.

"He actually pulled it off." Mr. Huffington thought, as recalled what he learned while spying on the boys.

Flashback

"Oh hey, I got something for you too. It could really come in handy." Jaden said as held out the Master of Oz card. "After all, with 4200 ATK, it packs a pretty good wallop."

"You would really just give me such a powerful card?" Chumley questioned.

"Of course I would." Jaden smiled. "Like Dimitri said, we're buddies. Besides, you belong here with us."

Chumley stared at the card for a moment before smiling.

Present

A small smile formed on Mr. Huffington's face as he remembered how much the other boys cared about his son.

Chumley knew Master of Oz was strong enough to do this; however, he was out to make a statement. "I now activate Wild Nature's Release. Now, any 1 Beast or Beast Warrior I control will gain ATK equal to their DEF, but they will be destroyed come the End Phase. That's fine by me." Master of Oz(LV 9/7900/3700 effect). "Time to bring this to an end with Outback Attack!"

The Master of Oz reared back one of his fists and swung forward to strike Dizzy Angel so hard it flew back and exploded in a shower of pixels (Chumley 700/Mr. Huffington 0)

"Chumley won!" Jaden and Dimitri cheered.

"He used all our cards perfectly." Greg added.

"Now. Chumley doesn't have to leave!" Syrus celebrated.

"Not bad son." Mr. Huffington smiled as he approached. "You really have improved; however, I'm prouder of the great friends you've made." The beast user looked at his father surprised. "You've earned the right to stay, and I know this is where you belong."

"Dad." Chumley teared up.

Mr. Huffington hugged his son. "I'm proud of you."

"I won't let you down." Chumley hugged his father back.

As Mr. Huffington would soon sail off, the five Slifers planned a celebration that night for Chumley. Such a celebration would also be the perfect way to unwind for Jaden, Syrus, and Greg as soon enough they'd be competing in their respective tag duels.

barryc10 (Ch. 9): Yep, Seto's original three unions have been retrained.

barryc10 (Ch. 15): I have a document of every deck profile I've given these characters. I tend to list it out as twenty monsters, ten spell, ten traps, and fifteen extra deck. Then below that is the side deck where every other card I want a character to have, from monsters to extra deck, is listed out. That whole list, from the twenty monsters to the extra deck within the side deck are what I pull from in a duel. In universe, it every character stick to a forty-deck limit with a fifteen-card extra deck. Well, there'll be decks that do go up to sixty, but that'll only be for decks which require more cards to truly function. For example, a certain character from the show will be receiving a lightsworn deck. As that is all about milling, they'll need the extra cards. As for Link monsters, I don't think so.

A 'Reincarnated' writer: I still have a lot of content before I need to decide how that duel turns out in this universe. As for the Cyberdark series, in Gx's season undubbed season 4, Syrus uses them with no problem because he respected the cards. Zane's problem is that he lost his prior respect for anything after his downward spiral, hence leading to his heart problems.

Vital Info: In the show, it did take a relatively unknown amount of time to get to the actual event. Jaden and Syrus found out about it in episode 7, yet the Tag duel didn't happen until episode 10. Pretty much everything that has happened between the punishments being handed out in this universe to the end of this chapter, and the start of next chapter, will have been things that happened within that same stretch of time now. Like I said last chapter, no shame if you don't do it, I just think if Seto Kaiba is a more involved presence in your fanfiction, you just got to have him duel season 1 Zane. By proxy of the fact Seto has improved his deck, I think innovation is just the lesson he'd teach here.
