CHAPTER 6: Aftermath

Narrative Control: Cobalt

Lakeshore District, Aerocroft.

July 9th, 2210, 11:42am

The gentle morning breeze wafts through the park trees as Summer and I head down the path towards a simple wooden picnic table overlooking Aero lake. She taps away on her PDA and materializes a deck of cards.

"So how do I do one of these, what's the process?" I ask the Mint-eyed Braixen as she shuffles the deck in her hands. I have a seat at the table as she giggles lightly to herself.

"Well, it's quite simple, really. Pick three cards and lay them out face down side by side on the table." Summer explains as she sits down on my side of the bench.

I follow her instructions, three illuminated cards now lay before me on the table, "Okay, this is a simple 3 pull spread, now I can interpret this in two ways. Going from left to right, we can either do past, present and future or we can do mind, body and spirit. Which one would you wanna try?" She asks confidently.

"Uhh…" I stammer "Let's do Past, Present and Future." I answer, still somewhat uncertain of the legitimacy of these sheets of diode-laced syn-paper.

"We'll start then with your past." She notes as she motions for me to flip one of the cards over. I flip it over, the card is upside-down, and features a Meowscarada holding a wand high in the air, an infinity symbol glowing above their head. The card read: I - The Magician

"Reverse Magician." She starts, "It represents being manipulated, poor planning, and untapped potential, good that it's in the past." she follows. I instinctively try to recall what events might've been the reason for this card to appear…but at the same time, these things are all bogus anyway, right?

"Interesting." I note nonchalantly as I wait for her to give me the go ahead.

"Nothing to add?" She presses.

"Well, I'm not sure what it means in my context to be totally honest…" I sulk. The Braixen stares with a somber expression into my eyes as I gaze at the card at the table. She turns back, then motions for me to pull the next one.

Another upside-down one, this one…doesn't look as inviting as the last one. Even Summer seems taken aback by the result, and yet she doesn't seem too concerned.

"Ah, The Devil, reversed."

"Is that…bad?"

"It would be if it were upright. Normally the Devil means losing yourself in your inner urges, impulsiveness, high sexual activeness, becoming closed off. Reversed means that you're starting to let go of those urges, approaching new things with an open mind, and actively exploring dark thoughts with a clear head."

Now this one…I can sort of make sense of, with the way she's described it. She notices this and presses further.

"I'm seeing some gears turning this time around, what's on your mind?" She prods, intrigued by my potential response.

I move to talk, but find myself restrained. What I'm thinking of might scare her off…right? Do I really want to share? "I…don't really want to answer right now…given that we're on a date, not really appropriate." I respond, this doesn't deter the fire type as she simply chuckles.

"Well now I'm your Tarot reader, not your date. Please, go on." She presses further.

I still hesitate to speak, but the words come out of my mouth eventually. "Well, a while before I met you…impulsive was definitely the word to describe me. I got drunk all the time, I got laid all the time, I did stupid shit all the time. I suppose this card is really setting in stone that I'm finally trying to add some stability to my life and relationships." I explain finally. While Summer initially seems taken aback by my claims, she seems to have settled down as I finished.

"Well, I feel we all did that at some point in our lives. It's great you're finally slowing down and taking the world seriously again." She answers. "Sorry if my readings are really vague, I haven't actually gotten my psychic powers yet, still a Braixen after all."

"No no, you're alright. Should I move on?"

"Yes, yes. Go ahead."

I pull the last card, and I see her smile fade. I get a bad feeling as I set the card down. The card is upright and features a graphic of a tower being struck by lightning and burning to the ground, a Primarina is seen falling from a window.

The card reads: XVI - The Tower

"The Upright Tower in your future…gee." She starts, staring at the card worriedly.

"Now I'm guessing THAT'S bad." I ask, her mint eyes meet mine apologetically.

"Well…It very well can be. This card represents a sudden, abrupt and uncontrollable change in your life, this CAN be a good change, but more often than not…"

"...It means disaster."

My left arm feels a bit sore for a second. I dismiss it.

"Well, can I prevent it?" I ask.

"No one can change fate, Cobalt. However, this doesn't stop you from being prepared for the eventuality." She notes somberly as she gathers the three cards from the table. The two of us sit in an awkward silence for a second as she reshuffles her deck and digitizes it back into her CYBERLOCK.

I shake my head, I'm not gonna let a prediction of my future ruin my date!

"Come on." I beckon to her, her eyes follow me intently as I stand up and offer my hand. She notes my enthusiasm and matches it as she takes it gently. "I know a spot."

I take her further down the gravel path, passing multiple others, young and old. I can't really blame them, it's a nice day after all.

We come up to the base of the Hargrove bridge, it's a fairly large suspension bridge, about 1200 feet long. "Alright, my mate and I used to do this when we were younger, it's a bit scary, do you trust me?" I turn back to her confused expression.

"W-What are we doing?" She asks skeptically.

"Do you trust me?" I repeat. She hesitates before answering, but she does answer.

"Yeah…I trust you." She responds, I smirk, "Follow me." I beckon as I begin to scale the grassy hill to the side of the main support for the bridge. She follows with caution. I reach the top of the hill and watch as she reaches the top as well. I look to the concrete ledge above me and clamber up to the top.

She suddenly halts, "Wait. WHAT? We're going up there?" she exclaimed, hesitant to continue further.

"That's right! I'll give ya a boost!" I call down and hold my hand out for her.

"I-I don't…"

"I've done this loads of times! You'll be alright!" I reassure her. She appears willing to follow, but is held back by doubt and nervousness. "You said you trust me, don't you?" I recall. She now meets my eyes, then narrows her eyes and approaches the ledge. She hops up and grabs by hand, I grunt and hoist her up to my level in a fluid motion. She takes a second to get her footing. The ledge is only about as wide as a single person, and as I take her hand and carefully walk her forward with me, the distance between the edge and the ground below increases until we end up back near the path. I glance back at her, her expression reads determination, but her glances downward and her dilated, quivering eyes tell a different story. A sharp slope now in front of us, sloping down until about 6 feet off of the ground, where it drops off. "Alright, we're gonna shimmy to the right." I note as I let go of her hand and sit down on the slope, sliding a little bit down and to the right. She nervously follows, abusing as much of her paws as possible to keep herself from gaining momentum and sliding off. Finally she makes it to my side. "Look at that, we've made it!" I cheer and pat her gently on the small of her back, she quietly laughs, meeting my eyes.

I gesture the other way, Summer now notices that she can see almost the entire lakeshore district to her right. "Oh woow~!" She notes. "I've been living here since I was nine and I had no clue you could see all of lakeshore at once!"

I scoff, "Nine? Where are you from, originally?"

Summer turns back and smiles warmly, "Oh, uh, Ryukka."

"That's in…?"

"Xodon province, south of Glaywood."

"That's right, explains the accent."

"Mhm. And if I were to guess…..Volocroft, Flynn?"

"Sunburst, actually."

"Ah, dang, close." She giggles. "So why'd you move here?"

"My Dad got a Job up here, real estate, Mum and I moved with 'im, yourself?"

"Similar story, my mama Rose grew up here. Her mother owned the Rosebud then. Got involved with some shady business and ended up having to move to Ryukka. Said business ended up being a mistake and basically just had to make ends meet, but granny decided to help us by handing her the keys to the Rosebud just before she passed, it took a while, but because of that she was able to turn her life around, send me to College, etcetera."

"And you've decided to help out as well, it seems."

"Of course. It's the least I could do for her." She notes as she looks back at the scenery for a moment. "Arceus it really is pretty up here. Have you shown anyone else?" She asks.

"Aside from Jackson way back in the day, no. You're the first." I note. She takes a deep breath with a warm smile. Then turns back, "I'm happy you think I'm important enough for you to show me this."

My heart pounds, I've felt this feeling many times, but…not in this context. Instinctively, I try to defend my reasoning, even if it's not really the best route I should take.

"W-well it helps that we were in the area, I didn't really pick this park knowing we would be up here."

I did. She seems to see through my stuttering and smirk playfully, shaking her head at me.

"How you've managed to pick up women before confounds me." She jabs.

"YOU CHEEKY-"BRRRREEP BEEP! BRRRREEP BEEP!

My PDA starts ringing out of nowhere. Annoyingly, I check my wrist.

Incoming call from: Jasmine "Crimson" Airheart.

"Jasmine? Why would she be calling ME?" I ask aloud.

"Jasmine?"

"My squadmate, I'll call her back later."

Summer huffs and returns her gaze to the scenery. I groan and reject the call. "Sorry, I thought I had my PDA on silent."

"It's fine." She notes as she turns back to me.

"As I was saying, you clearly seem new to the concept of dating for someone such as yourself." She analyzes.

"Well no, I…er…well…yeah…yeah you're right." I admit. She chuckles and our eyes meet.

"I on the other hand…have been around the block more than enough. If it's less pressure for you, then…please." She notes as she moves closer and wraps her arm around my neck. My heart beat sounds in my ears as she follows.

"Allow me to take the lead~" She follows as her eyes close and she moves in…

BRRRREEP BEEP! BRRRREEP BEEP! 'EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION INCOMING' My PDA screams again. Summer halts her advance and pulls away with a heavy sigh. "OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE AIRHEART!" I scream in annoyance

I sigh loudly. "Sorry Summer, I have to take this. Rrrgh, this had better actually be an emergency…" Summer just rolls her eyes and shifts back to her other spot. Great. Thanks Jasmine. Way to ruin our first kiss!

I hit the answer graphic, "Airheart, this is really not a good time, this had better be urgent." I scold.

"I know! I know! You said you were going out with someone today! Just…look…The op in Ironhol went south, Cobalt." The Latias speaks through the vibrations of the implant in my skull.

"W-what?"

"Jackson and Violet were shot down…"

My eyes widen as I sit bolt upright, almost losing traction with the slope beneath me. Summer's annoyed look now turns to worry as she turns her gaze back to me.

"YOU'RE KIDDING! A-A-Are they…?"

"They're…okay. I managed to recover them from the wreck, they're both at the really big hospital downtown. Jackson's awake, but Violet's been unconscious since the crash. I haven't seen either of them since we landed, but they're allowing visitation."

"Say no more, Crimson…ffffffuck me…"

"Sorry for…ruining your date." She apologizes.

"No problem, we'll figure it out. I'll be there as soon as I can. Over and out." I explain begrudgingly.

"Roger that, Over and out." She responds before the call disconnects.

"Is everything okay?" Summer asks with worry.

"Jackson and Violet just got hospitalized, plane crash. I…"

"I understand, Cobalt. You should go make sure they're okay…you uh…free tomorrow?

"I should be, yeah."

"Why don't we pick this up tomorrow, same time at your place?"

"Y-yeah…I'd like that. Now uhh…how do we get down from here?"

Xodon and Veil Provincial border.

July 9th, 2210, 12:18pm

"Alright, have a good day, sir." Asra finishes talking with the officer at the border and we set out yet again.

"Finally out of Xodon, how does it feel?" He queries me.

"I guess I'm just glad we've made some progress so far." I respond with little more than a mutter.

"Can't argue with that, and hey! Tomorrow we'll be right on the shores of the legendary River Veil! I've always wanted to see it in person!" Asra beams as we continue down the arrow straight highway, the Snow-Capped Celatian alps surrounding us on both sides, the welcoming azure sky painting our destination.

I will admit, I'm beginning to trust the Espeon as time goes on and on. As much as I don't necessarily find myself aligning with his ambitions in life, I will admit his lighthearted attitude and overpowering optimism do come off as contagious, if only a little bit. I feel safe, respected, that's not something I've felt in a while.

Asra hums along to the music coming out from the van's sound system, it's a slow, dreamy and yet heavy rock song. Not really anything I'd listen to, but I won't deny the uniqueness of this almost psychedelic mood that Asra's playlist invokes. Most of the songs are from this band called King Bouffalant from Straitan City, Unova. Including this one, probably.

"Now that we're here, I'm starving, how about you?" Asra once again prods to get me to open up a bit.

"..." I say nothing at first, but eventually I sigh and turn towards him. "I won't say no to a diner." I announce, he thinks for a moment, then nods.

"Yeah, I'm alright with that, let's see if there's one on the road." Asra states as we continue down the highway.

Not even a few minutes later, we find ourselves getting seated across from each other in a booth at the far end of a large 24 hour breakfast joint.

"Can I get you two started with something to drink?" The Indeedee waitress asks us before we've even had time to read the menu.

"Uhhh…Coffee?" Asra asks me.

"Sure." I reply bluntly.

"Two coffees, please." He orders, the waitress nods happily.

"Certainly, I will be right back." She notes as she trots away.

Asra leans back in his seat and scans the restaurant, "Hm, neat place, what do you think?" He opens, I glance around the room for a moment.

"It's quaint, I suppose. Not really planning on staying too long so I guess I don't really see a need to examine it much." I respond as the waitress sets down a white mug of dark liquid. I reach over to grab some creamer as Asra responds.

"Hey now, we're in no rush. I know for you the sooner we get to Aerocroft, the better, but I think we should enjoy the journey, you know? Who knows what kind of adventures we'll get up to!" He chuckles as he sips his coffee. His eyes puff out as his face recoils backward, the mug rattles in his paw as he sets it down quickly, letting some spill onto the tabletop as he plants both of his front paws onto his mouth. I can't help but let a short giggle escape my vocal cords as he swallows and immediately tries running air over his burnt tongue. "Coffee's really hot, watch out." he pants.

Soon he recovers, "I'm gonna feel that later." he groans.

"I suppose you're right." I start. "I guess it doesn't hurt to keep an open mind."

My response seems to brighten Asra's mood. "That's the spirit!" he chirps with a grin, "Speaking of adventures, you ever try rock climbing?"

"Eh? I don't know, Asra. I don't think I'm up to that kind of…." I halt as I start to feel a thudding in my mind. My heart begins to race unexplainably.

"...B-Blair? Are you alright?"

I don't answer, my eyes drift to the Scrafty sitting at the bar stools. His posture is hunched over and his leg is bouncing up and down on the ground furiously. My adrenaline starts to peak upon my eyes meeting him.

No…No no no…

I can't…not again…

"Hi sir, what can I-" the waitress asks before the Scrafty pulls out a pistol and fires a round into the ceiling, the entire diner erupts with screams as he dismounts from the stool.

"Down! Everybody! On the ground, I wanna see you kissing the floor!" He barks as Asra and the rest of the patrons proceed to slowly leave their seats and collapse onto the floor.

All I can do is watch, frozen. He points the gun at the cashier, "Money! Now! Or I will fucking drop you, I swear to Arceus!" He orders as the Gothorita begins to frightfully open the register. He glances around the room and makes eye contact with me, "FUCKIN' DEAF? I SAID GET OUT OF THE FUCKING BOOTH AND PLANT YOUR ASS ON THE FUCKING TILE!"

My breathing escalates, I still can't bring myself to move.

"NOW! BEFORE I BLOW YOUR FUCKING HEAD OFF!"

"Do what he says, Blair!" Asra cries as I clutch my head in pain.

No…please…I don't want to become that again!

I scream.

And then, it happens.

I can hear laughter and distant screaming coursing through my mind, my expression goes blank as I look the Scrafty dead in the eyes.

"Put it down." I order bluntly.

"'Scuse me? You wanna repeat that, whore?"

"Put it down. Now." I repeat, stepping off the booth, maintaining an unblinking eye contact.

"You think this is a fucking joke? You think I'm fucking playing around?!" He asks as he instinctively starts backing away and cocking the hammer.

"I said. PUT. IT. DOWN….NOW!" I shout as I watch his demeanor change completely as his hands start trembling violently and his eyes widen.

"Wh-I SAID STAY BACK, YOU BITCH!" He screams.

"PUT IT DOWN!" I shout again, he yelps as the firearm drops from his hand, setting it off and embedding a shot in his leg, he howls in pain and collapses to the ground. I continue my advance, still looking him directly in the eyes.

"AHH! AAAAAGH! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME YOU FREAK?!" he screams in pure terror as he crawls backward towards the door.

"Get the fuck out." I order, and without hesitation, he grabs the gun and scrambles out of the diner and drives away. I glare at the vehicle as it leaves.

And then…the feeling wears off, and my heart sinks. I slowly look back at everyone in the diner, they stare at me in horrified disbelief, even Asra.

"B-Blair…what the hell did you just do?" He asks, I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes.

I knew it…they think I'm a monster…

No…damn it! I didn't want this to happen! I just wanted to escape! Escape my life! Escape Glaywood! Escape…THIS!

With horrified gasps exiting my lungs I quickly burst through the door and run.

"Wait! BLAIR!" I hear Asra faintly in the distance as I flee.

Aerocroft General Hospital, Downtown Aerocroft.

July 9th, 2210, 1:03pm

Jasmine and I stare at each other before we enter the room, we both know who's on the other side of that door and what mood they're likely going to be in. Silently, we nod to each other and enter the room.

Jackson is sat in a hospital bed by the window, the afternoon sun acting as a perfect spotlight to illuminate his position and mend his wounds. His arms are crossed as he stares out at the hustle and bustle of the city below him, a focused expression on his face as he ignores the screen at the foot of his bed playing…well…some sort of 1980's movie, couldn't tell ya what.

"Oi mate, how're ya holdin' up?" I break the silence, I watch his eyes shift slightly towards our direction, spotting us in the reflection of the window in front of him. His eyes shut as he takes a deep breath, then turns to us, a weak, obviously fake smile on his face.

"Hey guys…I'm..alright, I guess." He replies, Jasmine looks on with worry.

"You don't seem alright. Is there anything we can do to help, Jack?" she asks. His smile, however brief, fades away.

"You've done enough already Airheart…I…guess I haven't had the chance to properly thank you for getting us out of there, thank you." He thanks, "Doc says…day in the sun, I should be good to go by tomorrow morning." Jackson explains, he still seems very emotionally compromised, but he's trying his damn hardest to hide it, both of us see right through it. Jasmine opens her mouth but I manage to speak first.

"...You know that's not what we mean, Jackson." I ask as I sit down in the chair next to him. He turns his head to gaze back out the window once more, I can see him clench his fist.

I watch Jasmine attempt to place her paw on his shoulder, only for him to bat it away furiously. He stares into her eyes through a pained expression, breathing heavily as glowing tears begin to well up in his eyes.

"Alright, FINE! I'M NOT FUCKING OKAY!" He shouts as he turns away and throws his arms a bit. All three of us sit in silence for a bit, the only thing breaking the silence being the audio from Jackson's movie:

"Welcome home, Killer."

"Sloan! The only killing I've got left in me…is killing you!"

"And then what, Rex?! Retire into the suburbs? Mow the lawn every saturday and watch football on sundays? That ain't you, Rex! You don't mow lawns, you mow down lives!"

"I understand, Jack. You-" I attempt to speak, Jackson suddenly reels back and stares daggers into my soul.

"No. No you fucking don't!" He hisses "Violet's been unconscious for almost a day now! Her leg is broken, there's a fracture in her skull, not to mention the fact that she was in the ICU for 4 hours because of internal bleeding caused by the crash!"

He wipes tears from his eyes with a scowl, before making note of his hand. "Even my fucking tears glow, epic…." He notes sarcastically.

"Have you heard any updates on her condition recently?" Jasmine asks calmly. Jackson shakes his head begrudgingly.

"They say she's stable, but I still can't see her. Why does it fucking matter anyway?" Jackson answers.

I place my hand on the side of his bed, "Jackson…she'll be alright, yo-"

He grabs my wrist tightly "No, you two don't get it! You know who was in the pilot's seat?! You wanna know who got cocky and let their guard down?! You wanna know who crashed the prototype and led to Violet being in the condition she's in now? ME, COBALT! FUCKING ME! SHE'S IN THERE, OUT COLD WITH NO WAY OF KNOWING WHETHER OR NOT SHE'LL EVER WAKE UP BECAUSE OF ME!" He lashes, taking a deep breath, then letting go of my wrist and slumping back down.

Jackson places his head in his hands, Jasmine rests her paw on his shoulder. Another moment of silence.

"I reprogrammed you! I made you! I! AM YOUR FATHA!"

"NOOOOOO!"

"I did this to her, Jazz…" Jackson sobs quietly. "I should've never let her fly with me…"

She nuzzles his head softly, "You can't blame yourself for what happened, Jackson. She'll pull through. And that thing that attacked you when you crashed is dead now, so I doubt that it will happen again." she notes.

"What thing?" I ask, only to not receive an answer.

"It's not dead, Jasmine, it teleported away after you showed up…fuckin' thing was torturing me, it was after ME! And I just had to get Violet involved! I…I just wish there was something I could do to make it right…" Jackson explains.

"Well, you can start by taking care of yourself, you need to heal up too, you know." I note.

"And when Violet wakes up, you can be there for her, as will us. That's what she needs right now." Jasmine adds. Jackson nods slowly eyes closed, pressing his knuckles to his mouth.

"Y-yeah. You're right. I know you are…but I'm…having trouble internalizing it." he notes as he squeezes his fist, then releases. He finally opens his eyes, vision flicking between both of us. "Well…for what it's worth, despite me…lashing out, I'm glad you guys came to check on me, it means a lot."

"Yeah, for sure, mate." I note.

"Of course!" Jasmine replies.

"Excuse me." A nurse interrupts, drawing all of our attention to the Indeedee at the entrance. "I'm pleased to announce that Alexis Covelight regained consciousness about five minutes ago, but due to her injuries, we've advised her to rest. Assuming all goes smoothly, we'll start allowing visitation for her tomorrow evening.

The entire room breathes a sigh of relief.

"That's great news! We'll be sure to stop by!" Jasmine exclaim.

"See Jackson, I told you that she would be alright! She's a fighter!" I note, but Jackson seems focused.

"Did she say anything about me?" Jackson asks worriedly.

"If she did, we couldn't say" The nurse chuckles "She was quite delirious from the morphine, after a minute of some very slurred questions, she just went to sleep."

Jackson seems unsatisfied, but more content now that he knows that she's going to be alright. He huffs, then looks down at the foot of his bed and groans.

"Aw man, I missed the ending."

Rooftop, Hargrove Library

Hargrove district, Aerocroft.

That night.

I move swiftly to the other end of the rooftop. A cloud of purple haze surrounding my body as I slow to a stop. I turn off the lights on my suit and go prone. The smoke collects in a single spot, a sniper rifle now forming in my hands. I crawl forward and peer through the scope, Adjusting the zoom. I now have the empty table in my sight.

Range: 1354 meters.

Muzzle Velocity: 900 meters a second.

Time to impact is almost exactly one and a half seconds. This is an energy rifle so I don't need to account for bullet drop. After a couple of nanite modifications, I quietly launch small microphones to embed themselves in the floor beneath the table.

After a couple seconds of travel time, I suddenly begin to hear the commotion of the restaurant. Now I just wait.

"Hi, table for two! Reservation for Lyra."

"Certainly, right this way!"

My target appears in my scope, a shiny Latias, mint green eyes, glasses and a tulip perpetually attached to her ear. She sits across from Covelight Elite Jasmine Airheart. I know that this individual is a Private Investigator. The two met up shortly after Major Asphalt was eliminated. I have to know if they are onto me. There's no other explanation for Airheart hiring a P.I. right after the Major's death.

I listen in, small talk. Typical, but nevertheless, fucking annoying. I wait for what feels like an eternity before finally, The P.I. speaks up. "So, I DO actually have something for you, I did a little digging aaand found this!" she chirps as she pulls out a printed photograph, turning it over to Airheart. She's facing me, so I can't see the photograph for myself, but I start to panic, physical evidence?! Who could've taken that picture?! I train my sights on the P.I.'s head. Airheart seems somber as she sets the photograph down. I pan over to the photograph, I'm already at max zoom on my scope, but I can faintly make out a…ship?

"That was taken at the marina in Altera, the day after you said your mother left. The boat in the photo does charter to Hoenn, I'm planning on heading over there soon to try and contact the charter, see if they have records of your mother being aboard. Unfortunately that's all I have for you, I'm sorry if you were expecting more." The P.I. explains.

"No. No. This is huge! You're making progress, Lyra! I really think you can pull this off!" Airheart replies happily.

I sigh, it appears I might've overreacted. This investigation seems to pose no threat to me. I stare at the pair of Latias through my scope, then flick the safety back on. I don't want to hurt a civilian if I don't have to…but as for you…Ms. Airheart….I'll let you go…for now, I have more pressing targets to eliminate.

Enjoy your night, enjoy your life for the short time it lasts…

Whoo boy, where do I begin? Burnout, Art Commissions, Summer Lifeguarding Job. And now I've started work on a NEW version of Covelight, v3.0 (This current version is v2.5) which instead of a Fanfic will be told through a graphic novel! With a completely new story so even you dedicated readers will have something fresh to experience! Do note, that even though I will be working hard on Covelight v.3.0, that does not mean I'm abandoning this one, far from it. I will just be uploading less frequently….though hopefully faster than this chapter, I know. I'm not proud of the fact this took over a year to come out.

ANYWAYS, Cobalt and Summer are definitely a thing now, Blair's got some secrets, Jackson's pissed at himself, and the mysterious assassin has his sights set on our main cast! On top of that, we still don't know what that thing that shot down Jackson and Violet was! Despite the action, this was a pretty meaty chapter! Next chapter, you get to meet a probably not so familiar face, the Noivern in the VTOL from Covelight APAU, Oscar Bass! I'm thrilled to debut him in the next chapter, so that'll be something to look forward to!

That Snivy is getting an action scene next, so expect me to BLAZE through that and get the next chapter out faster! While you're at it, feel free to check out that, Re_Incarnation, and my latest masterpiece in action, Unsung!

With that being said, this is Elysium, over and out!
