Shoto stared down the students of Seijin Academy and said, "You fools." He sent a fire attack at them.

Two Seijin students unleashed wind and water attacks to counterattack. Shoto jumped away and put up an ice wall as the attacks kept coming at him.

Soon dust filled the air and Shoto used it to run away and come up with a strategy. He realized that the opposing students had counterattacks for his ice and fire. He also realized that this factory setting he was in was very realistic and then sent his ice towards a huge tank.

The Seijiin students saw a flame in the dust cloud and chased after it, but it was a decoy. Shoto appeared above them and sent a fire attack at the tank he attacked before, causing a huge explosion, sending the Seijin students flying.

One student said, "To pull such a move! He's crazy!"

Shoto then came down and froze all the students in ice. "Well, it looks like the commission kept the force of the explosion from being too damaging. Apologies. But I simply cannot afford to fail." He then used the balls on him to get all the Seijin students out.

Shoto's own targets then glowed and he heard a voice say, "Students who have passed the exam should congregate in the anteroom. Chop, chop."

He went directly to the anteroom and was surprised at the amount of people that have passed so far. But he was shocked that Fenton wasn't there.

He sat down in a chair and saw Inasa across the room. Shoto was surprised that he declined his invitation to UA. He didn't notice Inasa give him a death stare before going back to talking rapidly to someone.

Elsewhere in the arena, in a building, a student from Seiai Academy said, "Miss Sai? We'll soon have company. I've confirmed four UA students have entered the building."

Sai replied, "Let's have a look at the video."

The student said, "Certainly." She opened one of her eyes and played a video out of it.

Sai noted, "Arm duplication. A sound wave manipulator. The frog. And a Quirk that allows you to make things." She then activated her Quirk in order to do some calculations. She then smirked, "It seems that our prey has been decided. Please gather the other ladies."

The student bowed, "Yes, Miss Sai." She then left.

Sai smirked, "The formula for my success is flawless. What an excellent day for an exam."

Over the loudspeaker, Mera said, "So far, 56 people have passed. Don't panic, but do consider that your time is almost up. Good luck."

Back at the building, Shoji was using his Quirk to look around.

Tsuyu asked, "Having any luck, Shoji?"

Shoji replied, "It's no use. I can't see anyone from our class. Not even Fenton."

Tsuyu suggested, "Maybe they're in another area."

Shoji sighed, "Most likely. Yaoyorozu. You heard that right? Less than half of the spots remain."

Tsuyu said, "We should probably give up on finding everyone. We need to fight for ourselves and make sure we pass."

Momo sighed, "Yes. That would be wisest. Hopefully Danny and the others are alright. I'm sure Danny has passed by now."

Jiro then said, "Sh! I hear four people climbing the stairs. Ten floors below. They're headed up here."

Shoji asked, "Are they planning to attack us?"

Momo then said, "I don't understand why there are only four of them coming up if that's the case. All the other schools we observed have moved in much larger groups than that."

Tsuyu suggested, "Maybe their companions were defeated and they're running away to hide in here."

Jiro shook her head, "No. That's not what this sounds like. They're not stopping on other floors."

Momo asked, "Are there more of them hiding somewhere? Is this a distraction? Or worse?"

The Seiei Academy students then pressed a button on a device that blasted guitar music, rendering Jiro down as it hurt her ears.

Shoji put an ear out, "There's music playing. It's not too bad for me. But hearing it suddenly must've been a huge shock for Jiro."

Tsuyu realized, "So they must know Kyoka's Quirk and were targeting her on purpose."

Shoji nodded, "It's a coordinated attack."

Momo said, "This isn't good. Now we can't tell where anyone is."

Down below, Sai said, "Phase one's officially complete. Let's begin phase two. Shouldn't keep our guests waiting."

Up above, the windows near the group of four started to break and Momo shouted, "Everyone hide!"

Jiro hid behind a table, "Attacks from the outside? What's their plan?"

Shoji answered, "They're trying to keep me from using my eyes."

Momo said, "The first thing they did was to counteract Jiro and Shoji's Quirks, which are perfectly suited for detecting enemy locations. Our opponents know exactly who we are. And more importantly, what we can do."

Shoji asked, "Yaoyorozu, what could their next move be?"

Momo answered, "I'm not positive. But it seems likely that they're trying to trap us here."

Tsuyu added, "And then they'll surround us and move in to attack as a group."

Momo nodded, "Yes. We should already assume that they're already close by, waiting for the right moment to strike."

Jiro said, "In that case, we have to fight!" But then she got shot in two places.

The Seiai student responsible radioed to Sai, "Phase two is complete, ma'am."

Momo asked, "Jiro, are you injured?"

Jiro answered, "They got my amp! And my left ear!"

Momo realized that this attack is well thought out and that someone must be really intelligent and come up with this strategy.

Shoji then asked, "Does it feel colder to you?"

Momo nodded, "Actually, now that you mention it, yes. It's coming from the vents!"

One of the Seiai students was using her Quirk to freeze the airways. They also activated the emergency walls and locked the four in the room they were in.

Momo noted, "The temperature is steadily decreasing."

Jiro added, "This place is turning into a freezer."

Tsuyu then collapsed. Shoji ran to her, "Asui, what's wrong?"

Jiro realized, "Oh crap! Since the temperature dropped all of a sudden, her body's going into hibernation!"

Shoji turned to Momo, "We need fire. Make a lighter or matches."

Momo shook her head, "No, I can't. We'll set the sprinklers off. That's only going to make her colder."

Jiro suggested, "Maybe an electric heater or something?"

Momo replied, "Our opponents have control over the air conditioner. They've probably turned off the electricity as well. Here's a blanket for now."

They heard a noise and saw that the emergency door near them was being welded shut.

Shoji asked as he held the blanket wrapped Tsuyu, "Are they trying to freeze us solid?"

Jiro pointed to the main doors, "Those doors over there are the only ones we have left."

Shoji said, "We could break through."

Momo shook her head, "Our opponents are definitely waiting on the other side. It's dangerous."

Shoji asked, "How did they manage to outthink us so quickly?"

Jiro also asked, "What are we supposed to do?"

Shoji realized, "If we stay holed up in this room, we'll have to do something about this cold. Otherwise we'll be done for."

Jiro asked Momo, "What if you made a bomb? We could blow the door to the emergency exit."

Momo answered, "We'd run the risk of causing a phreatic explosion. And they likely knew we'd think of that. Which is why they sealed the observation room and lowered the temperature."

"Then what?" Jiro asked.

Momo sat there trying to come up with a plan.

Meanwhile, one of the Seiai students said, "Phase three is complete."

Sai said, "Lovely. Now we just give them time. Yaoyorozu will have to use her Quirk, but she will exhaust it soon, rendering the last of them useless. Now, use your Quirk, Yaoyorozu. It will be the beginning of the end for you and your friends."

Momo started to make something, then stopped. Jiro asked, "Hey, why aren't you making anything?"

Shoji added, "Is there something wrong?"

Momo answered, "No matter how many different ways I look at this situation, I get the same answer. The enemies want me to use my Quirk."

Shoji realized, "Until you can't create anything else."

Momo nodded, "Right. My Quirk has many applications. They can't account for all the things that I might make. Which is why they're doing this. At first, I thought the manipulation of the air conditioning was to take Asui off the board. But I believe their true intention was to force my hand and exhaust me."

Shoji said, "Very clever. And once you're powerless, they'll march in. No doubt they'd easily hit our targets."

Momo nodded, "Yes. So I can't use it. We'd just be playing into their hands. We wait for the need to arise, when there's no other option."

Jiro said, "But if we stay hiding in here, there's no possible way we'll pass the licensing exam! We should just charge out that door and attack them head on."

Shoji countered, "I'm sure that such a smart enemy has predicted that we might do that."

Jiro groaned, "Ok, fine, then what do we do?"

Momo started to think to herself. She thought about Izuku's words about needing to save someone, back during the Bakugo incident. That made her think about Danny, and his need to save someone no matter what. She knew what she needed to do.

She said, "Everyone, please endure these conditions for a few more minutes." She pulled the book she had off her back and looked through it, finding what she was looking for. She then opened the front of her shirt and started to make something.

Shoji turned around in order to be a gentleman while Jiro shouted, "Hey, are you crazy?"

Momo replied, "Just bear with me." She created four sets of headphones.

Jiro asked, "Why headphones?"

Momo replied, "Please, put them on." She then knelt down and created something that started to come out of her back. "It's the first time I've made this device, but its structure isn't all that complicated. I'll just save enough lipids so I can still move. And make it as big as possible."

Jiro asked, "Wait, is that…"

Momo nodded, "Let's just say you and Danny gave me the inspiration."

On the other side of the door, Sai smirked, "Prepare to take them, ladies."

The other Seiai students nodded, "Yes, ma'am!"

Suddenly they all felt a sonic wave attack coming from the locked up room.

Momo had created a large stereo that Jiro attached her unhurt earphone jack into. Jiro commented, "The headphones help, but the force is rattling my body."

Momo said, "Please, everyone. Seven more seconds and it'll be over."

Seven seconds passed and the group of four burst through the door, seeing several Seiai students passed out.

Jiro cheered, "All right! We rocked this!"

Momo took some deep breaths, "Now, hit their targets."

Shoji put Tsuyu down, "Asui, can you move?"

Tsuyu nodded, "Yeah. Ribbit. I'll be OK."

Suddenly Momo was pulled back into the locked room by Sai, who survived the sonic attack. Sai locked the door behind her and turned to Momo, "You used your Quirk to attack, not defend. It was a high risk move. I can't believe a UA student would choose such a method. But because of that, you can't fight now, can you? I may not pass, but I'll make sure you don't either."

Momo tried to handcuff Sai, but Sai's other hand almost hit one of Momo's targets.

Suddenly Tsuyu, Jiro, and Shoji burst through the door. Tsuyu used her tongue to grab Sai's other arm.

Sai asked, "But, why did you come back? Surely you assumed I'd already hit all three of her targets. We're in the middle of the licensing exam. You should be thinking about yourselves, not your other classmates."

Jiro replied, "That might be how you roll, but not us. We're obviously different."

"She's our friend," Tsuyu added. "Which means we'd never leave her behind.

"And we don't give up," Shoji said.

Momo stood up, "It's how Class 1-A is. We look out for each other."

Sai sighed, "You've defeated me completely. UA doesn't disappoint."

The four Class 1-A students tagged all the Seiai students out, passing the first part of the exam.

Meanwhile, Kirishima had followed Bakugo, but was surprised Kaminari followed him. "Hey, Kaminari. Why'd you follow us?"

Kaminari shrugged, "I don't know. Because you guys started running. I didn't wanna end up alone. Where are we going?"

Bakugo shouted, "Shut up!"

But Kaminari kept talking, "Why you always gotta sound so mad?"

Kirishima said, "I told you to chill out, Bakugo. Looks like there's a lot of people up there, so the three of us should work together."

"Go die," Bakugo replied.

Kirishima sighed, "Come on, man." But suddenly he pushed Bakugo out of the way as a blob attacked him. He flew through the air as he transformed into a blob and went into the hands of a student from Shiketsu Academy.

Kaminari was freaking out, "What the crap? Did that really just happen?"

Bkaugo said, "All I know is that bastard looks like he's to blame. So I'll kill him."

Mera announced over the loudspeaker, "More examinees have passed. We're at 60 people now. That means there are 40 spots left."

Sero spoke to his group, "We're running out of time. This is bad. What do we do?"

Izuku said, "Yeah. I knew we'd be in trouble if we got split. But at least we can probably do something about the group that's near us, and maybe even make a few points."

Phantom smirked, "Now you're talking. What plan do you have in mind?"

Izuku said, "Earlier, someone tried to outpace his classmates."

Phantom remembered, "Oh, yeah. That guy with the weird beige face."

Izuku nodded, "He was panicking that he wouldn't get enough points in. Since his class attacked as a group, they'd definitely end up fighting over their targets."

Ochaco said, "Oh, so, as people get worried, they'll break away from their classmates, and then they'll be at a big disadvantage."

Sero was confused, "Wait. Then why were you saying we should all stick together? We'd be in the same boat."

Phantom answered instead, "I think what Izuku is trying to say is that we were told in the beginning to hit weak points with balls, so it's easy to think of this as target practice. And without knowing our opponents' Quirks, we're basically going in blind. But it's not easy going after moving targets, because they'll be protected."

Izuku added, "Think about it. I wanted to first make sure that we trapped enough people for everyone in our class to pass. Then we'd only use our balls after they couldn't move anymore. Our class has a lot of people who excel in restraining groups. So I kinda thought it wouldn't be any trouble."

Sero realized, "I see. It's true that if we were just doing target practice, they'd only be able to tell whether or not we were good shots. There's more to this test than I originally realized."

Ochaco then said, "Shh. Listen, you guys. Does it sound like they're getting closer?"

"What should we do?" Sero asked.

Phantom answered, "I'll go after them. I'll be a decoy."

Izuku agreed, "I'll go, too. We'll be decoys so you two can move. Be on the lookout for an opening that'll let you immobilize people to get some points. Your Quirks are better than mine at that. I'm a fighter."

Phantom added, "And I figure that people will want to go after me since they seem so obsessed with UA since watching the sports festival, and they want to take the winner down."

Ochaco nodded, "Roger. Sero, let's do this."

Sero groaned, "OK, fine."

Izuku said, "Now, let's move."

Back with Bakugo's group, the student from Shiketsu, Shishikura, said, "I'm from Shiketsu. Please notice, my school keeps our hats on when we're working. Why's that? Because each and every one of our movements is crowned by the legacy and honor of our school. This is a demonstration. Proof of the difference of level between my peers and your vulgar class. We value obligation and dignity, things that appear to be sorely lacking among you. With the sole exception being your class rep, Danny Fenton."

Bakugo scoffed, "I really hate your type."

Kaminari added, "He's hard to follow. Makes me feel kinda dumb."

Bakugo said, "He said his beady eyes are full of tears, so he can't see how strong his opponents are."

Shishikura scoffed, "My eyes are dry and handsome, thank you!"

Kaminari said, "Hey, maybe don't provoke this guy? Look what he did to Kirishima."

Shishikura proudly said, "UA High. I have respect for your school. I take pride in the fact that our institutions are treated as equals. But your class is shameful, once again, the sole exception being Fenton. He shows qualities meant for a true hero. But the rest of you act in ways that disgraces heroes." He prepared an attack.

Kaminari was freaking out, "He's attacking again! I don't wanna be gross."

"Shut up!" Bakugo shouted. "Obligation? Dignity? While I stubbornly agree that Fenton has good qualities, you just like to hear yourself talk. I don't see any proof. Show us with your actions, not your cheap words. If you can."

Shishikura growled, "Beast. You're worst of all, Bakugo!" He sent some blobs at Bakugo, who was ready and waiting.

Phantom and Izuku were doing a good job dodging all the attacks that came their way, trying to get all the attackers in one spot while also protecting Sero and Ochaco.

Up in the stands, Ms. Joke asked, "Want some gum?"

Aizawa replied, "It's really a finger trap, isn't it?" He sighed. "I hate this. It's frustrating that we can't tell who passes and fails in real time."

Ms. Joke popped a piece of gum into her mouth, "And our Shindo only made it worse by splitting the ground open. Now it's hard to see anything. Wait, Eraser! Are you actually worried?"

Aizawa answered, "There's something I learned after watching my students. In school and in the field. They might not have realized it themselves, but in Class 1-A, there are two people whose spirits have a big impact. They're not leaders, or the most popular. And the two of them don't get along at all. Sometimes they seem like polar opposites. However, before I knew it, their passion has spread to the rest of their peers. It's strange. But every time there's some kind of major event, one of them is at the center of it. But above the two of them is the true leader of the class. Hence why he's class rep. He's shown that he's at a completely different level than the rest. The first two were inspired by him, and that inspiration spread to everyone else. He's always at the center of major events. I'm not worried, Joke. It's the opposite, actually. I can't wait to see what everyone will do. Even if everyone isn't around the top three, their presence raises the standards for the entire class."

Ms. Joke blew a bubble, "You've fallen for them hard. It's kinda gross."

Aizawa replied, "I'm honored to have them as students. My Class 1-A."
