Chapter 390 Gabrielle And The Black Cat

Although at Hogwarts he used to be the center of attention and conversations, this was the first time Evan experienced such a situation, surrounded by a group of girls.

Every now and then, bursts of laughter erupted, and they spoke in French, a language he did not understand.

There were several bold girls who looked at Evan with tenderness, conveying obvious messages with their gazes. Evan, on the other hand, was quite shy.

If he wanted, he could engage in a pleasant conversation with any of them at any moment.

It sounded appealing, especially because all these girls were stunningly beautiful...

Evan quickly shook his head and cleared his mind. Now was not the time to dwell on such matters.

Ultimately, this situation was truly not suitable for staying to study magic. He had to retreat along the path he came from.

Behind him, more and more people were crowding around.

Many of them had come to see Evan after being informed by their peers.

Evan had a headache. These French girls were too enthusiastic.

After swiftly turning a corner, he murmured softly. His body began to shrink rapidly, turning into a black cat that leapt gracefully.

He watched with amusement as the students suddenly lost track of him and looked confused. He flicked his tail and distanced himself from the crowd, ready to continue his journey across the campus.

Evan planned to head to the library and browse through the books there.

"Where did the Hogwarts boy go?"

"I don't know, he just turned this corner. There's nowhere to hide around here. He can't walk that fast either."

"I heard he's very strong. He defeated the basilisk, many dementors, and the darkest wizard to clear Sirius Black's name..."

"We all know what you're talking about. He's almost the most mentioned wizard in the newspapers. Every few weeks we see reports about him!"

"Well, I mean... could he have turned invisible?"

"That's impossible. That spell is not allowed in schools. But maybe Hogwarts has some unknown special magic. That school is very powerful."

As the discussion continued, Evan carefully crossed the crowd.

He decided to go back and study French diligently. Otherwise, he truly wouldn't understand what people were saying.

They must be talking about him, and he simply didn't know if what they were saying was good or bad.

Just as he was about to leave, his body suddenly stiffened.

At the far end of the crowd, Evan realized he was being lifted from behind.

He turned around and saw a particularly beautiful girl, a few years younger than him, dressed in a pale blue wizard robe.

She looked at him with her blue eyes, and her pure silver-blonde hair cascaded down to her waist.

"This black cat is so cute!" exclaimed the girl, her long, soft eyelashes blinking up and down, as beautiful and charming as an angel.

Without a word, Evan recognized that this girl was Gabrielle Delacour.

She bore a striking resemblance to a Veela, a very rare lineage.

At Beauxbatons, it was estimated that only she and her sister, Fleur, were like that; and they were very easy to identify.

Evan struggled for a moment, trying to break free. Although he had said he wanted to see Gabrielle, encountering her in this way was truly unfortunate!

"Hey, stop misbehaving!" Gabrielle ignored Evan's efforts and held him firmly in her arms.

There was a tender moment before him, and Evan didn't truly dare to resist.

He could only let her embrace him and follow the surrounding crowd.

"Come on, Gabrielle!"

A few minutes later, a girl beside him said with disappointment, "I don't know where that Evan Mason went. He's gone!"

"But I still haven't seen him!"

"There's a welcome banquet tonight. You will see him sooner or later," the girl took Gabrielle's arm. "Besides, wasn't your sister appointed by the headmistress to show the boy around campus? You can follow them. Remember to take me with you then."

They walked towards the school while chatting, and the topic naturally shifted from Evan to the black cat Gabrielle was holding.

"I've never seen this cat on campus before!" The short, brown-haired girl exclaimed, "Black cats are rare. In legend, they possess strong magical powers. Maybe it's a pet of the senior students."

"In that case, I can ask my sister for help!" Gabrielle exclaimed, holding Evan in front of her and gazing into his eyes.

Evan was entranced by the girl's beauty, feeling his heart beating strongly.

His mind went blank, filled only with extreme joy.

Nothing else in the world mattered as long as he could keep looking at her.

This feeling lasted just for a moment, and immediately Evan regained his senses.

He knew it was because she was a Veela, inherently magical and with the power to make a woman irresistible.

Evan let out a soft meow and averted his gaze from Gabrielle.

He wanted to convey that she didn't have to bother finding the owner, just let him be.

But Gabrielle picked up Evan again. In that moment, she also felt her heart racing.

The black cat in her arms seemed to possess true magic. His eyes could reach the deepest corners of the human heart. Gabrielle had never experienced anything like it before.

"Go back to the Common Room first. I'll ask my sister for help. See you at dinner!" Gabrielle waved and dashed off in the opposite direction with Evan in her arms.

Evan didn't know what she wanted, but he was contemplating how to get out of that situation.

He meowed twice more. It seemed he couldn't leave this girl without using drastic measures. If he couldn't, he could simply revert to his human form.

That was embarrassing, but better than being seen by others.

Gabrielle ran for a while and stopped. She lifted Evan again and asked uncertainly, "Why do you keep meowing, are you hungry?"

Evan couldn't understand what she was asking, another meow being his response.

Then he saw the girl nodding slightly, as though she had understood something.

She took Evan and ran to an empty classroom.

"I found it!" Gabrielle felt something behind her desk.

She pulled out a bottle of milk and shook it in front of Evan. "My sister gave it to me at breakfast, I forgot to drink it!"

Evan observed silently as she poured milk into a bowl and pushed it towards him.

Seeing that Evan seemed reluctant to drink, Gabrielle thought for a moment and forced his head down.

Suddenly, to Evan's surprise, he was covered in spilled milk!

Gabrielle laughed, released Evan, and drank the remaining half of the milk from the bottle.

Her mouth was stained with milky white, and she lifted Evan, who was cleaning his face, their arms drawing closer and closer.

Looking at him, it seemed that because Evan, the black cat, was too adorable, she couldn't resist the temptation to get closer and kiss him.
