"Back up… Back up… A little more… Stop! Stop!" The truck hissed to a stop and its sirens soon turned off.
Arnold soon hopped out of the Ladder truck.
"Alright you guys, let's get these trucks cleaned up and ready for the next call out." Arnold started. "Let's clean up and get something to eat, you guys." Arnold soon put his helmet on the bumper of the Ladder.
Later
"You are seriously twisted." Arnold snickered. Dean and Ben had told him what happened inside the house.
"Welp, it's in our DNA as firefighters, the dark humor." Pep shrugged as she bit into her waffle. "Dark humor or our daily idiotic jokes we always make?" Vic mentioned as they laughed. "Oh, yeah? You should've heard the kinds of shit I be hearing at Sixteen!" Pep said.
"Is it true the showers stink like urine and the toilets are always clogged?" Arnold asked and looked at her. "Oh, believe me, it was disgusting! I don't know why I was assigned there a few months ago but BOY am I glad to be out of there!" Pep replied.
Arnold then stood up with a glass of orange juice in hand.
"Alright you guys, I wanna propose a toast toward our newest member of the family and of Station 55… Pep Clemente." Everyone then clapped.
"Welcome to the family."
"Great to have you on board!"
"Welcome aboard, Pep!"
"And how can we forget about her little incident at Sixteen? Sorry about the mannequin, by the way." Arnold laughed as he brought up her embarrassing moment. She partly blushed.
"You know, when I found out that Pep was assigned here to this station, my heart was filled with a… A sudden desire to transfer." Arnold finished the second part of his sentence in a blank tone as everybody started laughing. He also laughed.
"So let's raise a glass, lads, toward our newest member … Pep Clemente who despite being a great firefighter, always has her shirt on tight like Spinelli half the time." Arnold started to laugh as the others laughed with him as well. Pep couldn't help but laugh at his jokes as well.
"You guys always have breakfast like this? Your leader stuffing his mouth with food and talking WITH the food in his mouth?" Pep laughed. "I swallowed my food!" Arnold laughed, and so did the others.
"At least I don't eat expired food and rush to the toilet after." Arnold snickered as he looked at Donovan. "Oh come on! That wasn't my fault! I didn't know the cereal was expired!"
"Or how about Travis eating a moldy donut the other day?" Ben laughed.
"At Sixteen, we had it WAY worse! One guy ate moldy cheese in his sandwich and absolutely fucked up the bathroom that day!" Pep told them. "Pep, you seem to have a lot of fucked up stories from Sixteen. No wonder it got shut down." Arnold joked as he sat down.
As they all joked around, back at Arnold's place…
"How's my sweet little girl doing today? Aren't you adorable?" Andy had recently awakened, and Spinelli was with her.
She looked at both Diesel and Bandit, who were both sitting near her and wagging their tails.
"Alright you furballs, it's feeding time." She playfully rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, sweetie, I didn't forget about you!" Spinelli kissed Andy's forehead. "Come on!" She told the two dogs as she walked out of the room. They followed behind.
After a few minutes, Bandit and Diesel had their food in their bowls, and Spinelli was about to give Andy her milk bottle.
"There we are." She smiled. "Man, I wonder what Arnold and the guys are up to?"
"I told you that would happen!" Arnold laughed his butt off after he made Dean squirt milk out of his nose. The others were also laughing uncontrollably.
Spinelli only shrugged as she could imagine a million scenarios of what was happening at the firehouse. She then looked at Andy who was drinking her milk.
"You're the most beautiful angel I've ever held…" Andy looked at her mother with her curious yet sparkly eyes. "I sometimes never realize how lucky I am to be raising you, and caring for you. I love you, sweetheart." Spinelli smiled at Andy.
Andrea may not be related to Spinelli blood-wise, but that didn't matter to Spinelli. All she knew was that she loved her with all her heart, and that's all that mattered. Raising her like one of her own.
"Doesn't matter whether you're of my blood or not, I love you and I'm raising you like you're one of my own." She kissed her forehead. "Boy, I wish Arnold was home. I feel a little empty without him…"
"Looks like an electrical shortage in the kitchen. Nothing spelling arson here, and we found this laptop. Looks like Tiffany left it plugged in and it must've shorted out." Kurt told the on-site Chief.
"Ah. I see. If anything, it's good to see it's not an arson attack for once. But I'll admit, that was quite careless of her." Stella replied. Kurt and Joe soon noticed the tired expression on her face. "Boy uh, Chief, you should get going. You look terrible."
"I feel terrible." She blankly replied. "I'll finish up here and visit my future daughter-in-law." She yawned. Kurt and Joe only nodded as they headed back inside to investigate further.
Later
Later after the investigation, the Battalion Ford truck pulled into Arnold's driveway.
Spinelli noticed from the living room as she had almost fallen asleep with Andy in her arms.
"Wait here, hun." She set Andy on the couch and went outside. She put on one of Arnold's jackets since it was a bit of a chilly day.
"Chief? I- Is something wrong?"
"I thought I'd stop by and get some rest, honestly. I haven't been feeling myself lately." Stella had a hand on her head. "Well uh, sure."
The two walked in together. Stella felt more tired than ever.
"Chief-"
"Oh, Spinelli, please. Call me Stella."
"Stella, if it's no bother, how's Arnold doing?" Spinelli asked. Her phone started ringing. "I think you just might find out." Stella lightly smirked as she headed upstairs.
She immediately answered the phone.
"Hey, Arnold…" Spinelli said, in a seductive tone.
"Hey, Spin." Arnold smiled. "How's everything going?" He asked.
"More or less. I'm just bored without you! Oh, and by the way, your mom is currently staying here."
"Is she alright?!"
"Yeah. She's mostly tired from all her work, she had someone replace her for the time being. She told me once we walked in."
"Oh, okay… Hey uh, listen, I don't know when I'll be home but probably sometime in the afternoon. Alright?"
"I hear you. Love you."
"Love you more." Arnold smiled. He soon hung up as he headed down to the Captain's office.
"Not sure whether that'll give me a chance to give him a little surprise with his mother here…" Spinelli wondered as she sat down on the couch.
Later
It was around 3 in the afternoon, and not much hasn't been going on throughout the day, both at Station 55 and at Arnold's mansion.
Meanwhile, at MedStar, things were quite busy for Phoebe.
"Boy, I can barely even take a minute to even breathe! So many patients popping up left, right, and everywhere!" Phoebe was talking with one of the nurses. "Tell me about it. I feel like it's been a whole day even though it's been a few hours!"
"Dr. Hyerdhal down to the E.R."
"So much for complaining about a slow day." She rolled her eyes and immediately went toward the emergency room.
"Ugh! I'm so bored! I never thought I'd feel this bored. I feel way more bored than I ever was as a kid!" Spinelli complained. Andy was already taking her usual nap, and the two dogs were out messing around in the backyard. So Spinelli was left to be bored out of her mind without her beloved.
"I'll try and see what he's up to…" Spinelli tried calling him but got no answer.
"Ugh! What could he be up to?!"
Arnold let out a deep exhale after the critically injured patient was wheeled inside on the stretcher. Michelle and Donovan were with him.
"Well, so much for a boring day. Can't get more closer than that. Phew!"
Spinelli slumped over on the couch and crossed her arms.
"What a girl has to go through while her boyfriend is away…" She scoffed. She then got a notification on her phone.
Spinelli picked up her phone to reveal a text message from her beloved, Arnold. He had texted her a simple red heart, but it meant the world to her knowing Arnold remembered her.
Back At The Car Crash Site
It was a three car accident. One had flipped upside down while the two other cars were next to each other. Most of them were already transported to MedStar, while only two were found deceased.
One victim was yet to get out as she was impaled around the stomach area.
"Okay, let's go! You all know how this works! Let's move it!" The Captain of Twenty-Three was the incident commander.
"C'mon! Hurry!"
"Move it! Move it! Move it!"
Several firemen were rushing around trying to get the woman out of the car. A stretcher was already outside the car. She was bleeding out from the injury.
Within minutes, she was placed on the backboard sideways, and on the stretcher.
"Go! Go! Go! Go!" They rushed her toward one of the ambulances.
"What are you lookin' at your phone at? You look like those high school girls in love." Michelle snickered. Arnold was smiling at his phone as Spinelli had texted him a red heart and a kissy face emoji.
"Surprised he even had his phone." Donovan chuckled as he cleaned out the Aid Car.
Spinelli couldn't help but smile and blush as she looked at her phone for a minute.
