Later That Afternoon
Arnold and most of the others were at their lockers, mainly goofing around.
"You guys are the worst!" Donovan complained as they kept bringing up the fact he ate expired cereal.
"Hey you guys, look!" Vic was scrolling through social media when she saw something that caught the entire Fire Departments' eye.
BREAKING
POLICE CHIEF JALEN DIXON ACCUSED OF DOMESTIC DISPUTE AMID RUNNING FOR MAYOR.
A tragic video was released hours earlier today of respected Police Chief Jalen Dixon, who is in the running for Mayor of Hillwood. The video displays that both Police Chief Dixon and beloved Fire Department Chief, Chief Shortman, were visibly seen arguing as many police cars and officers surrounded the area for an innocent black teenager who was out getting groceries for his mother. Police refused to comment on the situation and the Police Chief was unavailable for comment. Fire Department Chief, Chief Shortman was also unavailable for comment, and the Fire Department also declined to comment on the situation.
"He threatened to kill that boy…" Donovan remembered the situation earlier with Victoria.
Travis was beginning his shift, but he also heard what happened.
"My mom was involved in this?!" Arnold peered over Vic's shoulder. "S- She was, Arnold… We're sorry, we didn't mean to get her into trouble!"
"I know you guys did what you had to do… Corrupt ass police!" Arnold immediately ran off toward out back of the station.
"Arnold, wait!" Michelle tried stopping him, but he had already run off.
Arnold immediately got in his truck and dialed Spinelli.
"Hey, honey. How's it-"
"Spinelli, is my mom still at our place?" Arnold asked frantically as he switched on the engine, purring to life. "Yeah, she's still here, why?"
"I'm heading over now!" He immediately hung up as he backed the truck up.
Spinelli was rather confused about why Arnold sounded frantic. She hadn't bothered to check the news.
His black Ford truck immediately raced off as the tires left trail marks.
At Home
Spinelli had just found out that Stella was involved in the incident that the Police Chief was being accused of.
She saw his truck parking in the driveway as he immediately shut off the engine and raced to the front door.
Arnold ran in as he had a frantic look on his face.
"Where's my mom?!"
"Upstairs! In your old bedroom!" She pointed. Arnold immediately went upstairs.
Arnold found her lying on her stomach in bed.
Arnold lightly shook her awake. "Mom! Mom, wake up! It's urgent!"
"Ar- Arnold? What's wrong?" Stella soon woke up. She was wearing a shirt of the Hillwood Fire Department.
"Mom… It's Chief Dixon. He's been accused of domestic dispute. I know what happened earlier." Arnold gave a saddened look. Stella was wide-eyed for a moment. Arnold then hugged her. "Oh, sweetie…" Her voice sounded of pure heartbreak.
"I'm so glad you're alright, Mom… I never want anything to happen to you! I lived without you once, and I don't want it to happen again!" Arnold sounded hurt. Stella rubbed his back as she teared up a little. "I'm living without a Dad, and I don't want it to be you next or me to little Andrea! I'm not letting another Shortman die!" Arnold let his tears flow down his face.
"I love you, sweetheart!…"
"I love you too, Mom…"
Spinelli watched everything from the doorway, feeling rather hurt herself. Stella soon noticed her and motioned her over. She immediately went over and hugged the two.
"Mom, I think it'll be best for you to take some time off. I'm not sure whether it'd be a good idea to get back as Battalion Chief amid this situation." Arnold soon said. Stella sighed. "I- I honestly don't know whether I want that, you know how much I love this job! But… I guess it's something I may have to do. But I'm not hiding behind anybody, son. I'm not a coward like Jalen!"
"That's how you talk!" Spinelli encouraged. "She's right. I can't be hiding out like a coward, and you and I know that." She told her son.
"Well, if anything, at least stay with us for a while. I'd have to guess the media will be waiting for you." Arnold replied. "I'll be back on shift tomorrow, but Arnold, I also want you on shift. I know I promised you a couple days off after today but I'll need more hands on deck."
Arnold slightly nodded. "Alright." He quietly said. "Get some sleep, Mom. I'll get your truck inside the garage." Stella only nodded.
Arnold and Spinelli soon walked out together.
"You alright?" Spinelli looked at her beloved. "Can't say I am. I'm worried about what might happen to my Mom. You know I already live without my Dad, and I can't afford to lose my Mom! You know how much she means to me, to all of the F.D.."
"I know she'll pull through all this controversy. I know she will, she's a very tough woman." The two were walking downstairs.
"I know she is, but still, it doesn't change my worries at all."
"I know… I'll see you in the bedroom?" She asked. "I'll see you there." Arnold replied, but didn't have much happiness in his voice. Arnold wrapped his arm over her and kissed her forehead before heading to the driveway.
Spinelli only sighed as she walked over to the bedroom.
Meanwhile…
Back at a dark warehouse, the same hooded figure was continuing to create its arson weapons. The figure was running out of the right materials and had to make the most until the new shipment came.
A map of the entire district of where the arson attacks were, and possible future targets. A purple pin was on a strip mall that was rumored to be shut down next month. Another purple pin was on a familiar place the figure knew too well…
Arnold soon met Spinelli in their bedroom, but the mood was mainly of confusion and disappointment.
Arnold soon sat beside her.
"You feeling okay?" Arnold asked. "Well, what can I say anymore?" She shrugged. "I just mainly feel upset for your mother since she was involved in that tough situation."
"She'll find a way through this, I know she will. Well, we still have half the day to ourselves, care to spend it together?" Arnold soon gave a small smile. "I'd love that." She soon smiled back.
"Let's go check on Andy and see from there." Arnold smiled as he rubbed her shoulder. He soon kissed her forehead. "I love it when you do that." Spinelli smiled. "I love it when I have you in my arms. Now come on." Arnold smiled and soon stood up. She soon stood up as well.
Hours Later
It was around nighttime, and a black sedan was seen parked in a parking lot as the owner was in the store getting the necessary materials, cigarette boxes, and sponges.
A red Chevy SUV was seen pulling into the parking lot as well, but it was Olga's SUV. She would park somewhere near the black sedan as she had a feeling who the owner was.
The hooded figure soon came back and threw the stuff in the trunk of the car.
Olga went wide-eyed when she saw who the figure was when the hoodie was pulled down.
"Oh my God… It can't be!…"
She remembered seeing the same hooded figure once before a had broken out, she couldn't get a clear visual whether it was the same person but was now sure.
She immediately got out of her car and ran over.
"Ugh, criminy! And I thought this hoodie was part of my head at this point!" The short blonde-haired woman said as she pulled out one of her arson weapons from her pocket.
"HELGA!" Olga shouted as she approached her. "Ugh! What the hell do you want!?" Helga asked, annoyed.
"I can't believe you ever went down this road! How could you?"
"What? What are you on about?"
"Helga, stop playing with me, you've been-"
"Shut your mouth!" Helga clenched her neck. "I swear on everything on this earth, if you tell anyone, I'll burn you next… And next… I'll burn it all! You fucking caught me, and I'm happy you did… I'm not some nobody anymore…" She gave a maniacal smile. "Good God…!"
"It's time people suffer the way I've suffered… And with Dixon paying for all this, I can do whatever the fuck I want! And once he's mayor, he'll underfund the Fire Department, leading to more of them in danger of my attacks! And don't think I don't know that retarded football face is Lieutenant at Station 55, and I plan to take something away from to absolutely destroy him, like how he destroyed me!" Helga was revealing almost every part of her plan. "Maybe his only memory left of that stupid rich princess, Rhonda? Or maybe his roommate? It doesn't matter… I'll kill 'em both! Tell anyone, and I will come after you next…" She gave a demonic look. Helga let go of Olga's neck and soon got in the black sedan.
"Expect fireworks at a factory REAL soon!" The black sedan soon sped off, leaving tire marks and dust behind. Olga was horrified by what her little sister told her.
"To hell with her threats, this entire city is in danger! Oh God, what happened to her?! I need to tell Stella immediately!" Olga soon ran back to her red SUV to call Stella.
Olga remembered that Arnold had a kid with Rhonda before she died, and all she could think about at that moment was his child. She noticed how cold-blooded Helga had turned out.
"Isn't she beautiful?" Arnold gave a wholehearted smile while holding his only daughter. Spinelli also had a wholehearted smile on her face while looking at Andy. Andrea was playing with a small dog plushie. "She's more than beautiful, she's adorable." Spinelli smiled.
"And quite frankly, the only memory I have of Rhonda. But I know I'll have many memories with Andy and you, sweetheart." Arnold turned to smile at Spinelli, who could only smile back and gave a peck on his cheek.
"Hello?…" Stella was woken up by her phone ringing. "What?!"
"I know it sounds insane, but she confessed straight up! And Police Chief Dixon is behind all this! He's paying to cover up some of his tracks! And once he's mayor, he'll be defunding the ENTIRE FIRE DEPARTMENT!"
"Olga, Chief Dixon is behind all this?!"
"Yeah."
"Oh no… We can't let him become mayor! We have to do something fast before he gets close to becoming mayor! And with his recent accusation, it may buy us time!"
"But Stella, I have worse news…"
"How much worse can things get?"
"Helga is coming after Arnold's child and his roommate!" Stella dropped her phone on the bed, absolutely shocked by what she heard. "Helga told me herself! She's not afraid of killing Arnold's child!" Olga was starting to sound distraught.
"My God, Andy!…" Stella couldn't believe her ears.
She was absolutely shocked to find out Helga was the arsonist, with Police Chief Dixon paying her to cover his tracks, but half of the fires weren't covering his tracks either.
Arnold and Spinelli were with Andy, imagining all the beautiful things they had in mind for their daughter, but they would soon encounter something traumatizing.
