While Arnold was mainly texting love messages to his beloved, a police officer soon walked in.
Arnold recognized who it was.
"Officer Dave Tanner. Best in the business." Arnold smiled and put away his phone. "What brings you by?"
"He'll be helping us out on the arsonist case." Stella walked over. "That's right, I can't arrest this Pataki fellow without the evidence right now. And without a taped confession or anything else, we really can't do much to be fair." Tanner said.
"Crap… Say, where's Travis?" Arnold asked. "In the engine room." Stella replied.
Arnold then kicked his feet up on the desk and started to text Spinelli again.
"Arnold put your feet down." Stella blankly told him. "Alright…" Arnold set his feet back on the ground.
"Tanner, any chance you'll be able to find our arsonist?" Stella asked. "I can't say for certain since we have no idea where she could be hiding out."
"Just hope that ugly son of a bitch peers her head long enough to finally get her arrested." Arnold grumbled. "Sweetheart…" Stella raised an eyebrow and smirked at her son.
Later
Arnold was stuck on desk duty in the meantime, and there wasn't a single call-out all morning. So what did he do? Well…
"Arnold? Arnold!" Stella found her son asleep. "Huh? Oh. Sorry, Chief." Arnold looked up.
Stella couldn't help but giggle. "Alright, hun. Don't let me catch you asleep." She smirked as she walked away. "Johanssen! Stop slacking off and clean up the rig!" She walked over to the engine room.
Arnold merely laughed as someone walked in.
"Hey, sweetheart." Spinelli smirked. She was carrying Andy in her arms. "Spinelli? What are you doing here?" Collars were also heard.
"Bandit? Diesel?" Arnold looked down to see his two dogs. They both barked while wagging their tails.
"Thought we'd drop by and give you a surprise." She shrugged with a smirk. "Well, this is definitely something I needed, I've been so bored on desk duty!" Arnold stood up and kissed her forehead.
"I knew you'd love it." Spinelli kissed him. "Say, how about-"
"Didn't know we were having a family reunion here." Michelle chuckled while drinking a soda. "He doesn't bite, right?" Warren asked as he saw both Bandit and Diesel.
"No, Ben." Arnold laughed. "Why don't you guys show Andy around the station? It's something my parents did when I was a baby." Michelle suggested with a smile.
"Aw, that's a great idea! How 'bout it, sweetie?" Arnold toyed with Andy, who was making happy noises and reaching for his badge.
"I think she likes this place already." Spinelli smiled. Arnold only smiled. He then gave a kiss on Spinelli's lips.
"Who's a good boy! You are!" Michelle was playing around with Bandit, who was only a puppy. Diesel was sitting beside Arnold and Spinelli as they both kissed.
Later
"And this is where we have all our gear. Pretty sure you probably won't remember much of this but it's worth doing this anyhow." Arnold smiled at Andy, who was in his arms and looking around the equipment room.
"Man, sometimes I kind of forget what this room even looks like. That's what happens when I'm away from this job too much." Spinelli snickered. Arnold saw Andy reaching for something. "What is it, honey?" Arnold looked over where she was wanting to reach.
It was a stuffed bear where all the helmets would sit.
"I forgot we have those there." Spinelli noticed. "We always take them in case a kid ever needs them on a call. You want one?"
"I think whenever she reaches for something, she always gets it." Spinelli laughed a little as she reached for the small teddy bear. "Here you go, sweetie." She handed Andy the teddy bear.
"Diesel, stop chewing on that!" Arnold caught him chewing on a coat. Diesel did as he was told and let go of the coat. "Quite obedient for a seven-month-old German Shepherd." Spinelli mentioned.
"Spinelli, I can't tell you how relieved I am knowing you decided to come today." Arnold smiled and kissed her cheek. "Well… Let's say I'm not gonna be the only one coming tonight." She slowly kissed his cheek. Arnold only blushed as they nuzzled their noses together.
"In all seriousness, I wanted to get out of the house for a while since I felt bored out of my skull, and I figured I'd come see you here." She shrugged. "Aw, I love you." Arnold kissed her on the lips.
"The sooner I get this done, the faster I can soon get rid of Dixon!" Helga placed an explosive rigged to blow if the car door was to be opened. "That'll get that asshole." She headed toward the black sedan.
The car door was slammed shut as she looked at her final victim.
"Ah, yes. Another house fire. Just need to do some wiring and it'll explode RIGHT in his face!"
KA-BOOM!
The explosive that was rigged was triggered and killed her second-to-last victim.
"Huh… Never saw that happen before. Welp, that's my cue to get the hell out of here!" The sedan engine started.
"Engine, Ladder, and Aid Car 23 respond to a car fire in 6281 North Ave." The station dispatcher said.
"Well, Arnold, as much as I wanna stick around, I think I should get going now. I told my parents they should come over for a while." Spinelli told him. He nodded. "I'll see you tonight." Arnold kissed her forehead.
"I'll see you tonight as well, sweetheart." Arnold kissed Andy's forehead. He smiled as he kneeled to Bandit and Diesel. "Hope you two furballs behave." Arnold petted them and ruffled their fur like usual.
"I'm gettin' too old for this shit…" Helga complained as she set up the wiring inside the final victim's house.
Minutes Later
"A masterpiece as always." Helga slammed her sedan door shut and soon drove off, with the owner arriving a minute later.
The owner parked his car in front of his house and soon got out of his car.
"Boy, what an exhausting day." He told himself as he looked at his wristwatch.
He reached for his key to unlock the door. He then turned the doorknob to trigger the wiring the arsonist set up.
KA-BOOM
CRASH
A backdraft exploded right in his face and knocked him back and crashed through his car window.
"Engine 55, Engine 24, Ladder 55, Aid Car 55, respond to structure fire in 3957 South Penn. Ave."
"Alright Fifty-Five, let's go!" Everyone soon ran toward the engine room.
As everyone was soon in their turnout gear, truck doors were slammed shut as the truck sirens reflected inside the station.
Engine 55 was the first to roll out of the garage and onto the streets. Ladder 55 and Aid Car 55 followed behind.
The horn honked on both the Ladder and Engine as they drove through traffic.
Arnold honked the horn on the Ladder as he kept readjusting his coat.
"Dispatch, this is Truck 55, we're en route toward the location. Copy?"
"Roger that, 55. Be advised, Officer Tanner is on-scene and reported a deceased person."
"Copy that, dispatch." Arnold replied. "MOVE OUT THE WAY, ASSHOLE!" Tommy saw a bunch of traffic in the way as the truck horn honked multiple times.
Engine 55 was already gone as Ladder and Aid Car 55 were stuck in traffic.
"Aw, great, just what we needed right now, huh?" Arnold facepalmed.
The cars finally moved out of the way and made way for the emergency response trucks.
Later
The trucks soon arrived at the house fire, Engine 55 was already on the scene a couple of minutes ago.
Arnold and the others hopped off the truck.
"Lieutenant! Over here." Tanner called out. Arnold walked over as he tightened the straps of his air tank.
"Oh jeez…" He winced.
The body was burnt black and his face was completely burned off, revealing bits of his skeleton skull. Pieces of wood was penetrating through his face and the doorknob was somehow lodged in his throat. He had crashed through his car window as well.
"Charge it!" Travis called out for the connected hose to be charged with water.
"I've seen this too many times, and this has been way too often." Arnold shook his head. "It's got Pataki written all over this, and we still have no idea where we can find her." Tanner mentioned.
"Lieutenant, we ready for ventilation?" Pep came over. "I'll be there in a minute." He replied as the Ladder was getting set into place.
"Wish I could say more but quite frankly… I genuinely don't know what to say." Tanner looked at the Lieutenant. "She'll peer her ugly mug soon enough. I know it." Arnold soon walked toward the Ladder truck for ventilation.
"I think I'm gettin' too old for this shit!" Gerald groaned. "Keep it moving, granny." Warren replied as he climbed behind him.
"Both of you shut up already." Arnold snickered from behind. "How about speeding it up? I'm not wanting to look at Arnold's rear end down here!" Pep said.
"Oh, real funny, no?" They all reached the roof.
"Alright, leave your tanks here, and let's inspect this roof." Arnold told them as they all took off their air tanks.
Sirens were heard approaching as Engine 24 soon arrived. The Captain hopped out.
"55, how's it goin'?" Captain Presley radioed. "You're late, 24." Arnold replied with a smirk as he poked holes in the roof, checking its stability.
"Looks like 24 is last on the scene again." Pep chuckled. "You hear that, Jess?" Arnold laughed.
"Just wait 'till you guys get down here!" She had a smirk on her face.
"This is bullshit man, this place is a dumpster anyhow, just let it burn." Gerald complained as he used the pike pole to poke holes in the roof. "Oh, stop your bitching already. At least we have something to do rather than sticking our thumbs up our damn noses from the boredom!" Pep replied as she poked holes in the roof.
"I don't think they'd fit with our gloves on." Warren also replied. Arnold only rolled his eyes as he also kept poking holes in the roof.
As they all kept checking the roof, mostly arguing over the boredom, something strange would soon happen.
