Chapter 13: Reaction
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Happy 4th of July! And I'm happy to say this story has over 250 followers! Thanks for all the support! We find ourselves on the streets of New York as Spider-Man was on patrol.
'M'Gann any sign of the Goblin on your end?' Spider-Man asked through telepathy.
On the other side of the city Miss Martian was flying around.
'Nothing. Are you sure you gave me the right description?' Miss Martian asks.
"He's a green skin dude who flies around on a glider, laughs like a maniac, and throws bombs everywhere you can't miss him.' Spider-Man thought.
'Well then I guess he's not flying today.' Miss Martian thought.
'Alright call it a day and I'll meet you at the Football game later today.' Spider-Man thought as Miss Martian cut the link.
Landing on the side of the building, Spider-Man noticed two thieves were stealing a car carrier full of exotic cars.
"Stop! Police!" A man yells as the thieves raced away.
"We did it!" One cheered when they heard a knock at the windshield.
Turning they saw Spider-Man looking at them.
"You know you really shouldn't jinx these things," Spider-Man said.
"Spider-Man?!" They both gasp.
"I'll shake him!" The driver said trying to swerve and throw Spidey off.
"Oh wow, yeah that is totally effective," Spider-Man said sarcastically.
"Forget this! I'm outta here!" Pulling a switch the second criminal dropped the ramp and climbed out the passenger side.
As the driver tried to follow, Spider-Man fired a web.
"I don't think so, buddy. Why don't you do us all a favor and hit the brakes?" Spider-Man suggests when the other criminal cut the break line.
"I can't! I swear!" The driver said.
"That little sneak cut the breaks!" Spider-Man gasps.
Dropping the ramp, the other guy loosened the controls on the front car causing it to drive out while he got in the car he wanted.
"Oh no this ain't good!" Spider-Man said a hand flew in and the truck began to slow down.
"Need a hand?" A familiar voice asks.
Looking at the front, Spider-Man saw Wonder Woman had stopped by.
"From you absolutely. You stop this truck I'll get the car." Spider-Man said jumping onto the roof and swinging after it.
Using her strength, Wonder Woman pushed back against the truck when she noticed a blind man crossing the street ahead of them.
Seeing she had to move fast, she used her full strength causing the truck to stop just before hitting the old man. "Would you like a hand, sir?"
"Oh thank you, young lady." He said as she walked him across to safety unaware of who he was talking to.
Down the street, a scrawny man with glasses was walking by a beautiful woman with long black hair when the car came swerving towards them.
Leaping in, Spider-Man fires a web yanking the two of them to safety.
"You can thank me later dude," Spider-Man said revealing he tied the two of them together in the same web.
With their faces so close to one another blushes formed on both their faces.
Landing on the hood of the stolen car, the thief looked in fear.
"I'll shake him! I'll shake him!" He said trying to swerve and knock Spidey off.
"Oh yeah because this worked so well a minute ago on the truck." Spider-Man mocks.
As the car swerved down the road, Spider-Man ducked narrowly avoiding crashing into a truck.
But when the car came out the other side, several cars hit the brakes forcing them to stop and some crashed into each other.
Growling frustrated, Spider-Man reached into the car and yanked the thug out.
Firing a web, Spider-Man tied him up and hung him upside for the police to get.
"Well not as clean as I would have hoped," Spider-Man said as Wonder Woman dropped in.
"Well look at it this way. At least no one was seriously hurt." Wonder Woman said.
"I guess so. So why the sudden visit?" Spider-Man asks.
"I was curious about the place you call home. Thought I should see it for myself." Wonder Woman said.
"Well you sure picked quite the time to show up," Spider-Man said.
"Any chance I can get you to give me a tour?" Wonder Woman asks.
"I guess I can help you out but hopefully you have a change of clothes. With an outfit like that you stick out like a sore thumb." Spider-Man said.
"Oh don't worry Batman and Superman told me about having a secret identity. I'm just still working on it." Wonder Woman said.
"Well, I could give you a few tips you if want before showing you around." Spider-Man offers.
"Sounds good to me." Wonder Woman said as they took off.
An hour later, we see Jaden standing by himself in a department store with a nervous look on his face.
"Uh Diana, mind hurrying up in there?" Jaden asks feeling weird.
"Why the rush? You were the one who thought I needed this." Diana said.
"It just feels weird being a guy in this section," Jaden said as some female employees passed by.
Slowly stepping out Diana was wearing a blue jacket over a white top, and white pants all showing off her figure.
"Well, what do you think? Is this secret enough?" Diana asks.
"Uh..." Blushing softly Jaden shook his head pulling himself together. "You look great but I can still tell it's you."
"Well that's because you know both parts of me." Diana points out.
"I guess that's true." Jaden nods
"What would you recommend?" Diana asks.
Looking around Jaden grabs a ponytail holder and a pair of pretty glasses and handed them to her. "Uh try these."
"Really?" Diana asks raising an eyebrow.
"Trust me it works," Jaden assures.
Tying her hair in a ponytail, Diana uses the holder and puts on the glasses.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Diana smiles. "Hmm simple but not bad."
"Now you see why I wear a mask all the time?" Jaden asks.
"I suppose that does put you in a better advantage than me. So now that I'm just Diana what should I call you since you're not in yours?" She asks.
"Uh, Jaden. Just Jaden." He said.
"Well, Jaden thank you for taking the time out of your day to show me around," Diana said.
"Anytime," Jaden said before noticing she was still wearing her bracelets under her sleeves. "Still keeping those on?"
"Like you're one to talk?" Diana smirks gesturing to his web shooters under his sleeves.
"Touché Princess." Jaden smirks.
Making their way down the street, Jaden filled her in on all the things New York had to offer.
"So right now we're near Queens so if you go that way you'll find Broadway that's full of shows, musicals, plays. Do you like that sort of stuff?" Jaden asks.
"We did have Comedies and Tragedy performances on Themyscria are they anything like that?" Diana asks.
"Hmm a little more range than just those two but something like that," Jaden said.
"Hmm sounds entertaining. What else?" Diana asks.
"Well we also have sports, my friend Harry is playing on my high school Football team," Jaden said.
"I'm not familiar with that sport," Diana said.
"Basically it's a bunch of angry guys smashing into each other while trying to get a ball to the other side." Jaden summarizes.
"Sounds barbaric," Diana said.
"It kind of is, I'm not that much of a fan but he's my best friend so I should be there for him," Jaden said.
"I can respect that. What else?" Diana asks.
"Well, there's movies, museums, shopping malls if you're into that, and theme parks. Coney Island is always fun to see. There are quite a few things you can do for fun. Anything you want to do?" Jaden asks.
"Hmm, I recall a while ago you said you'd take me to try something. I think you called it Ice Cream." Diana recalls.
"Ice Cream? Oh, I know a great place. Follow me." Jaden said leading her to the nearest ice cream parlor.
As Diana waited for him, she noticed a few men walking by and checking her out much to her annoyance.
"Two vanillas please," Jaden said as he was handed two cones. "Here you go. One ice cream as promised."
Taking the cone, Diana tasted it and smiles. "Mmm, now I see why you like these."
"Right, it's good? And that's only one flavor there are tons of others to try." Jaden smiles.
"I think I'm starting to see the appeal to man's world," Diana said.
"Glad I could show you a few positives," Jaden said.
"You know it's interesting seeing this side of you. Even without your mask, you're still helping people." Diana said.
"I bought you an ice cream and showed you around town. I'd hardly call that the same as when we usually meet." Jaden said.
"Maybe not but I needed help and you said yes, you didn't have to but you did. So thank you." Diana smiles.
"If you insist," Jaden said when his phone rang meaning he got a text.
"Jaden where are you? The game started." Megan's text read.
"Oh no, I'm gonna be late. Uh, I'm sorry to cut this short but the Football game, Harry and—" Jaden stutters.
"It's okay. Go." Diana gestures.
"You sure?" Jaden asks.
"I think I've got enough for now. Thanks for the help Jaden." Diana nods.
Smiling Jaden ran off leaving Diana to enjoy her weekend in New York.
As night was coming Jaden raced to the game when his phone began to ring.
"Hello?" Jaden answered.
"Jaden, so glad I got you," Norman said sitting in his office.
"Oh hey Mr. Osborn, I'm just about to catch Harry's big game," Jaden said.
"That's nice," Norman said brushing it off. "Listen, Harry tells me you landed a job working for Bruce Wayne. That's impressive. Some of my best scientists can't even get a job with Wayne Industries." Norman said.
"I mostly just get Mr. Wayne his coffee and write down his schedule. It's nothing too fancy." Jaden said stopping at a stoplight.
"Don't be so modest. You wanted a job and when life presented you with an opportunity came you took it." Norman said walking to his window.
"Well, what can I say? I got tired of normal jobs saying no so I took a shot at something else and it paid off." Jaden said casually.
"That's what I like to hear Jaden. This is the kind of world where if you want something done you have to want it. You have to want it more than anything, even if the whole world seems against you. Not many people have that drive Jaden. But you and me, we do." Norman smiles.
"Thanks, Mr. Osborn that means a lot." Jaden smiles.
"It's a shame your father couldn't be here to see this great accomplishment but if you ever want to talk I'm just a call away." Norman offers.
"I might take you up on that Mr. Osborn. Thanks for calling." Jaden said hanging up.
Running across the street, Jaden arrives at the game just as it was about to end.
In the stands, Gwen, Mary Jane, Glory, and Megan were cheering as the team broke into formation.
"It's a nail-biter folks. The Midtown Mustangs are down by 5 with the ball on their own 40 and six seconds to go!" The PA said.
"Excuse me," Jaden said sitting next to MJ and Glory.
"Hey, tiger you get just getting here?" MJ asks.
"Yeah was showing a friend from out of town around the city. What are you doing here?" Jaden asks.
"Flash invited me," MJ said.
"Flash?" Jaden said confused.
As Flash gets the ball he throws it across the field just before he was tackled.
Running across the field, Harry had his hands open and catches the ball right in the end zone.
"And touchdown! Osborn makes an unbelievable catch!" The PA said making the whole crowd cheer.
"So wow MJ you and Flash huh? I mean I know you only went with me to the dance because of our moms but well…" Jaden said.
"Don't worry Tiger, sure we got our matchmaking moms off our backs but right now you and I are just good friends." MJ teases before standing up. "I'm gonna go congratulate Flash."
As she walks away, Jaden sits back in his seat.
"Hey, Jadey." Walking up the rails, Liz stops across from him.
"Hey Liz, saw your cheering. You girls got the crowd pumped." Jaden said.
"Thanks." Liz smiles softly. "So uh we're all going to Coney Island tomorrow to celebrate the win. You coming?"
"Yeah that actually sounds really fun," Jaden said onboard with that.
After the game in the locker room, Harry was opening his locker.
"Hey Osborn, we're going on a burger run. You in?" Randy asks.
"You guys go on ahead, I'll catch up," Harry said as the football team left.
As the jocks walked out Harry started to pant heavily and lean against his locker.
Looking inside, we see a canister of the green in the bag. Grabbing it, Harry chugs the whole thing down.
Outside the door, Gwen was waiting outside when the Janitor came out to lock everything up.
"Excuse me my friend is still in there," Gwen informs.
"Sorry not likely. I just looked." He said before leaving making Gwen worried.
Meanwhile, at Oscorp, we see Norman with Otto in the lab as he was putting on his mechanical arms.
"But what about Spider-Man? He's battled the Sandman and the Rhino. What's more, I hear he now has other heroes helping him out. What if they trace it back to OSCORP? To me?" Otto said terrified.
Putting a microchip in the back of his arms, they activated allowing him to control them.
"Enough. You whine more than my son. I can't have weak men in my organization, Otto." Norman warns.
Looking at him, a dark thought came into Otto's head about using the arms to smash Norman against the wall.
"Octavius? Are you in there?" Norman asks snapping him out of it.
"Yes. I'm sorry I'll do what I'm told." Otto stutters.
"That's all I ask," Norman said walking out. "Now do your experiments like a good Doctor Octopus."
"Mr. Osborn, please I've told you before that name is—" Before Otto could finish Norman already left. "Demeaning."
Sighing one of Otto's arms had removed the safety key from the machine and placed it on the counter.
"Safety key removed. Experimentation will not continue until the key is reinserted." The computer said.
Making his way into the machine, Otto stops just short of the radiation parts.
Using the arms they got to work fixing it. What Otto didn't realize is that the Goblin's green hand had picked up the key and reinserted it.
"Safety Key has been reinserted, experiment will commence in 30 seconds."
Panicking Otto tried to get out but the door was sealed.
"Who turned on the key?! Please let me out! I'm still inside!" Otto screams but the Goblin's maniacal laughter echoed and no one heard them.
As the electromagnetic radiation went off Otto's mechanical arms were fried and the microchip that allows him to control the arm fused to his spine causing him to scream at the top of his lungs as a bright light emitted from OSCORP.
Landing on a rooftop, Spider-Man saw Miss Martian looking at something in horror.
"What's wrong?" Spider-Man asks as she points ahead. "Wait…that's OSCORP! Harry's dad might still be there."
"We need to hurry." Miss Martian gasps flying ahead.
"I've always wanted to try this." Firing two webs, Spider-Man steps back before slingshotting himself through the air.
Back at OSCORP, Norman entered the room to see several men in Hazmat suits trying to open the door.
"What the heck is going on?" Norman asks.
"It's Dr. O sir. He's down by the doors are sealed shut." One said.
"Out of my way." Taking out his own override key, Norman inserted it.
"Security override, N-O 1 engaged."
As the door opened there was tons of smoke.
"Octavius? Octavius? Where are you?" Norman calls out before spotting him under rubble.
"We got this." Dropping in, Miss Martian used her telepathy to lift the rubble off Otto allowing the men to get him away.
"Is he…" Norman asks.
"He has a pulse but it looks as if the harness has fused to his skin." One man said as Otto groans softly waking up.
"Otto. Otto, are you okay?" Norman asks.
However when Otto heard him a look of anger and rage appeared as he remembered Norman mocking him earlier.
"I will not be weak," Otto said rising to his knees.
"Otto, get up," Norman said when one of the mechanical arms grabbed him and slammed Norman to the wall making Miss Martian gasp.
"Silence, you imperious moron!" Otto snaps.
"Hey, hey! Take it easy man Mr. Osborn just help save your life!" Spider-Man said firing a web to try and yank it off Norman.
Using his other 2 arms, Otto grabs Spider-Man and slams him next to Norman.
"For the record, I tried to save you too," Spider-Man said.
"Do not mock my intelligence. You tracked me down and tried to destroy me! Like I knew you would." Otto accuses.
"Destroy? I don't even know you." Spider-Man said.
"I think you have him mixed up with someone else." Miss Martian said as Otto used his last arm to try and grab her but she dodged.
"You and your monster thought you could destroy me but I survived and now I'm stronger than ever before," Otto said.
"Otto stop this," Norman orders as Otto threw him to the ground.
Gasping Miss Martian flew in and caught him.
"I got you." Miss Martian said before turning to Otto. "Listen to your boss. We were trying to help you Otto."
"I am not Otto. Otto was weak. I am…Doctor Octopus!" He declares.
Seeing what was happening, Miss Martian handed Norman to the Hazamat people.
"Get him out of here now." She orders.
"You know Doc when most people pull rubble off you you're supposed to thank you. Not I'm going to destroy you, that's just bad manners." Spider-Man said.
"Glib does not equate to clever Spider-Man!" Doc Ock said slamming him to the ground.
"Yeah well, more arms doesn't exactly equal more sanity." Spider-Man groans.
"Do you ever shut up?!" Doc Ock snaps.
"No he doesn't!" Flying in Miss Martian hurls rubble at Doc Ock sending him flying and freeing Spider-Man. "And FYI I'm not a monster I'm a Martian. Get your facts right."
"Mr. Osborn, shouldn't we help them?" One man in a hazmat asks.
"Knock yourself out." Norman gestures.
However, seeing that getting in the way of 3 powerful beings was probably a bad idea.
Flying around, Miss Martian dodges Otto's arms while Spider-Man swings in.
"Listen Doc I think you're jumping too quickly to conclusions. What's the matter? Too much coffee? Too much overtime? Trouble with a hot squid lady?" Spider-Man asks.
"Shut up!" Doc Ock snaps when Miss Martian flies in and punches him in the face.
As he falls backwards his arms catch him before impact.
Lifting more rubble into the air, she throws it at Doc Ock but he swings his arm smashing through the rubble and hits Miss Martian making her cringe.
Gasping Spider-Man fires webs at Doc Ock. "Hey keep your hands to yourself! I'm talking all 6 of them!"
Swinging in, Spider-Man kicks Doc Ock in the chest making him skid back.
"You two are going to get tired sooner or later but my arms never tire and soon they'll crush…" Before Doc Ock could finish his harness began to beep.
"Oh wow, an alarm clock too? You really gave them all the bells and whistles." Spider-Man said.
"My apologies but I have places to go and worlds to conquer." Doc Ock said grabbing a small disk object with his human hands. "So your obituary will have to be written another day."
Sending two arms through the glass doors Doc Ock grabs two large glass containment pods and threw them at the two heroes.
Using her powers Miss Martian stops them just before impact but Doc Ock used that chance to escape into the city.
"Ugh as if Goblin wasn't bad enough." Spider-Man groans.
"What is with this city and creating all these supervillains?" Miss Martian groans.
Back at the high school, Gwen was about to leave when she noticed Harry collapsed on the ground near the fountain.
"Harry!" Gwen gasps running to him. "Harry, are you okay?"
"Huh?" Opening his eyes, Harry sees Gwen. "Gwen?"
"Harry, what happened?" Gwen asks.
"Happened? Game wiped me out, that's all." Harry assures standing up.
"So you took a nap on the cement?" Gwen asks.
"Gwen, look, you know I don't need a fancy feather bed to…"
"Harry get serious." Gwen interrupts.
"Please, I'm too beat for "serious" tonight. But hey a bunch of us are going to Coney Island tomorrow. Come along, it's been a while since you and I hung out." Harry offers avoiding the question.
"And then we'll talk?" Gwen asks.
"Oh totally. Totally." Harry said leaving but Gwen was not convinced.
Meanwhile, at the Daily Bugle, we see Ned pitching something to Robbie.
"Ned you're already working the Spider-Man story. At least you're supposed to be." Robbie points.
"I am. I am. But chief I think this Goblin thing is the same story. I feel it in my gut." Ned assures.
"Think? Feel? That's reason enough for me to give the Goblin to Foswell." Robbie said as Jameson walks.
"Fosewell, Lee! I'm not paying you to stand around! Nevermind. What do you think of my son Colonel John Jameson?" He asks.
"He's a modern American Hero," Foswell said in a bored tone.
"That's what I love about you Foswell. Get yourself a plane ticket down to Cape to cover my son's space shuttle launch. Now go! Come on go!" Jameson orders leading him out of the room.
Looking to Robbie, Ned pleads.
"Oh fine, Green Goblin and Spidey." Robbie agrees making him smile.
At a small apartment, we see several photos hanging on the wall before it was broken down by Doc Ock as he made his way in.
"I cannot believe I once lived in this hovel. Well no more." Doc Ock snaps as his arms smashed several pieces of furniture. "And no more Yes Mr. Osborn, I'm sorry Mr. Osborn, please Mr. Osborn. How I groveled before that man. But soon the whole world will grovel before my genius. But first I require a power source that won't abandon me mid-battle."
Opening the hatch in his harness, Doc Ock put the disk he stole before he escaped inside it allowing him to power his suit.
"I need a more permanent solution to put an end to Spider-Man and any other heroes he's allied with." Doc Ock said before noticing one picture on the ground.
The next day at Coney Island, we see Diana casually walking through Coney Island.
"Hmm I can see why Jaden recommended this place." She said seeing all the people having fun.
As she passes by a game she noticed a little girl struggling with the ring toss game.
"Ooh tough break little girl." The vendor said making the girl frown.
"May I try?" Diana asks stepping forward. "What's the objective of this challenge?"
"All you have to do is make a ring land on one of the bottles. You get 5 tries." He said handing her rings.
Narrowing her eyes, Diana tosses them, and all 5 land on the bottles.
"You mean like that?" She smirks.
"Uh, that'll do." The vendor said surprised.
As he handed her a giant stuffed animal Diana hands it to the little girl.
"Oh thank you! Thank you!" She smiles.
"No problem at all." Diana smiles.
"Hey, have I seen you somewhere before?" The vendor asks.
"Can't say, my first time here," Diana said fixing her glasses.
Narrowing his eyes the Vendor shrugs it off. "Probably just my imagination."
As Diana walks away she noticed a picture of the Justice League with her on it, but the vendor didn't even notice the similarities.
'Wow, Jaden was right. They can't even tell. It actually works.' She thought amazed.
As she continued exploring the amusement park she passed by the kids from Midtown as Harry won the Test Your Strength game.
"Damn Osborn, where you hiding all that muscle?" Randy asks as Gwen joins them.
"Harry there you are," Gwen said.
"Glad you could make it. Come on guys Corndogs my treat." Harry said leading everyone away.
"But Harry," Gwen calls out when Megan walks over.
"Hey Gwen," Megan calls out.
"Megan," Gwen said before noticing she had won some stuffed toys. "Wow, you look like you're having fun."
"Yeah, this is my first time coming to a place like this," Megan admits.
"You've never been to an amusement park before?" Gwen said surprised.
"Nope, we uh didn't really have these before I came here," Megan said.
"Oh wow," Gwen said when Jaden walks over.
"Hey girls," Jaden said.
"Oh, Jaden I'm glad you're here. Something weird is going on with Harry." Gwen said.
"What did Flash make him say or do?" Jaden assumes.
"No, no, it's not Flash. It's Harry just Harry." Gwen said.
"Well Gwen, I think we both knew the popularity would go to his head a little bit," Jaden said.
"Jaden listen to me please," Gwen said taking his hands. "Jaden I'm worried."
"Okay, okay we'll talk to him, but we'll do it later. He looks happy and if things are bad a day to relax and unwind could be just what he needs." Jaden suggests.
"I guess you make a good point but it's more than that," Gwen said as Liz walked over.
"Hey Gwen, hey Megan mind if I borrow Jadey?" Liz said pulling him away.
"Whoa. Uh, we'll talk about this later Gwen just try to relax for today." Jaden calls out.
"Relax? Relax how?" Gwen asks.
"Wanna hang out with me for today?" Megan asks offering a stuffed white spider as a peace offering.
Smiling Gwen took it and joined her friend.
Spending the day with Liz, she and Jaden went on the Haunted Mansion ride and while it frightened Liz at first Jaden put a hand on her shoulder making her smile.
Next, they played the water squirt game and while Gwen took the lead, Jaden came from behind and won.
"Yes." Jaden grins in victory until Liz sprayed him with water. "Hey."
Retaliating Jaden sprayed her with water making her giggle.
As the vendor handed him a stuffed octopus sailor, Jaden held it out for Liz which she happily took.
"Aw thanks, Jadey." Liz smiles.
"You're welcome. You know Liz, I'm really glad you invited me. I needed this." Jaden said.
"I was happy too. It feels like lately you keep throwing surprises at me. Trying out for the Football team, standing up for your friend Harry at the dance, working for Bruce Wayne? No offense but I used to think you were a nobody." Liz said.
"None taken and yeah I guess you can say I'm pretty surprising but you're pretty surprising too," Jaden said.
"Oh you're just saying that," Liz said.
"No, I mean it. Liz, you are not just some cheerleader, you're smart, nice, and honestly, you're one of the funniest people I've met. And I don't think you realize how amazing you are." Jaden said making her blush.
As the sun was setting Liz held out some cotton candy for him but it ended up sticking to his hand.
"Whoops. Sticky fingers." Jaden said before eating the cotton candy stuck to his hand.
Walking down from another path, the two cross paths with Flash and MJ.
"Is it me or is this awkward?" MJ asks when Liz noticed something.
"What's that?" Liz points.
Looking up Jaden saw a Doc Ock now sporting a brown trench coat and shades over his eyes making his way to the tech company not too far from the amusement park.
"Ugh my stomach." Jaden groans. "I think all that carnival food."
Groaning Jaden ran off. "I gotta go. Don't follow!"
"Typical Pooper. Leaves me holding the bag." Flash said making both girls glare at him.
At Tri-Corp, Doc Ock breaks through the glass window. Security moves in to try and subdue him but his mechanical arms send them flying.
"Ah the old stomping grounds." Doc Ock smirks.
"Otto? Is that you?" Stepping out a man in a suit and glasses gasped.
"Dr. Twaki, how nice to see you." Using his arm, Doc Ock grabs him and pulls him in. "Now perhaps you recall when I was last employed here, I was working on a prototype long-term power source."
"The-The Megalopack." Dr. Twaki recalls.
"My work! And when I departed you took possession of it. Now in hindsight does that seem fair?" Doc Ock asks as one of the mechanical arms clinks scaring him.
"It's in R Vault 8!" Twaki panics.
"My lucky number." Doc Ock said casting him aside.
Ripping open the vault doors, Doc Ock sees a small high-tech disk in a case. "Ah like an old friend." Lifting up the case, he was about to grab it.
"Incoming! Coming through!" Swinging in Spider-Man swipes the megalopack out of Doc's grip.
"Spider-Man!" Doc Ock growls.
"Hey Doc, see you went shopping for a new look. Nice, really sells the evil mad scientist vibe." Spider-Man said.
"Hand over the device." Doc Ock said.
"Sorry but no you didn't say the magic word." Spider-Man mocks.
"Then you invite your doom. You're in an enclosed space, web-slinger." Doc Ock said as his arms began spinning like chainsaws. "Where to hide?"
As the mechanical arms lunged forward, Spider-Man fires a web at his face blinding him.
Cringing Doc Ock stops his attack allowing Spider-Man to leap past him and swing through the hall.
"You will pay for this indignity Spider-Man." He growls.
Entering the lobby, Spider-Man landed next to Dr. Twaki.
"Okay for some reason he wants this. What is it and what does it do?" Spider-Man asks.
"It's the Megalo-pack. A power source. Holds a sizable charge for years at a time." He explains.
"Ooh that's not good. You should probably hide." Spider-Man suggests.
"Spider-Man!" Doc Ock calls out.
'So Daddy Long Legs needs power. That's why he ran off back at OSCORP. I need to keep this away from him until he runs out of power.' Spider-Man thought leaping out the building.
However, before he could get away his spider-sense went off. Turning around Doc Ock smacks him with his arm sending him crashing into the Ferris Wheel.
Looking up both Diana and Megan heard the noise and gasped.
"Okay, maybe this won't be as easy." Spider-Man groans as he webbed the Megalopack to him.
As Doc Ock entered Coney Island everyone ran in fear but in the chaos, Gwen tripped and fell.
Looking up she saw Harry sprint right past her.
"Gwen!" Running over MJ tried to help her but when Doc Ock spotted them.
Swinging his arm he was about to crush them when Spider-Man swung in and grabbed them both.
'I could get used to this feeling,' Spider-Man thought as both girls clung to him.
Landing with the others, Spider-Man let them go.
"Love to stay and chat but I have a doctor's appointment," Spider-Man said.
Coming out from behind the corner, Doc Ock smacks Spider-Man sending him flying into the Test Your Strength Game.
"You couldn't wait until I sent them on their way?" Spider-Man groans.
"I am going to enjoy shutting you up for good." Doc Ock said when Miss Martian flew in and smashed a Hot Dog cart over him.
"Not it I have anything to say about it." Miss Martian said as he got up.
"Ready for Round 2?" Spider-Man asks.
"Oh yeah." She nods.
"You two think you're a match for me?" Doc Ock said when a familiar lasso wrapped around one of his arms and yanks him to the ground.
"You know it's not often I get a fun day and then you come and ruin it." Floating in they saw Wonder Woman join the fight.
"Wonder Woman?" Miss Martian smiles.
"Oh, you're screwed now." Spider-Man chuckles.
"Whoa check out the Super babe," Flash said checking her out.
"What's going on?" Wonder Woman asks joining them.
"Long story short we have to keep this away from him until he runs out of power and shuts down. Do whatever you can but we need to take him down." Spider-Man said.
"Sounds good to me." Wonder Woman said as the three heroes faced Doc Ock.
Regaining his balance, Doc Ock went on the attack.
Jumping around the three heroes dodged the attacks.
Swinging an arm at Wonder Woman she used her bracelets to deflect the attack and stand her ground.
Grabbing the arm, she yanks Doc Ock in and delivers a kick to the face sending him flying back.
Using her powers, Miss Martian lifted two bumper cars up into the air and rammed them into Doc Ock before he slammed his arms into one and threw it back knocking Miss Martian out of the air and into the bounce house.
Chasing after Spider-Man the webbed hero fired webs around his arms and spun around forcing him to fall to the ground.
Spinning his claws like a saw, Doc Ock cuts himself free.
Getting back up he grabs a large sign and throws it at the heroes forcing them to dodge.
"Don't worry Spidey I got your back!" Flash said charging at Doc Ock.
"No!" Spider-Man gasps.
Flash was about to be hit by the mechanical arms when Spider-Man swung in and grabbed him.
"Appreciate the help Fan boy but we got this. You get out of here or that face might turn ugly." Spider-Man warns.
"Right. Smack him one for me Spidey." Flash said as the teens ran off.
Seeing an opportunity, Doc Ock flung an arm out and snagged Liz off the ground.
"Liz!" Flash screams.
"Let her go!" Wonder Woman orders.
"I should have seen it sooner; you heroes are so weak. You can't bear to see anyone get hurt." Doc Ock smirks.
"We can make an exception." Spider-Man growls.
"We just need to hang on a little longer." Miss Martian reminded.
"And your thought process is so transparent. Stall until my battery runs out? This one has enough juice for another hour. And think of all the damage I can do in one hour. Starting with the girl." Doc Ock threatens holding Liz like a human shield.
Carrying her to the rollercoaster he smashes the support beam and makes a big hole.
"Choose! The device, the people, or the girl!" Doc Ock said letting Liz go and forcing her to dangle for dear life.
Panicking Spider-Man did the only thing he could do.
"Go fetch!" Taking the Megalo-Pack Spider-man threw it to the ocean making Doc Ock get it.
"We got the coaster you get the girl!" Miss Martian said as she and Wonder Woman flew in.
As the coaster ride fell over Miss Martian flew in and caught the rubble before it hit allowing Wonder Woman to catch the ride.
Swinging, Spider-Man grabs Liz just as she was about to fall and brings her to safety.
'First Gwen and MJ and now Liz? Man, I'm saving all the girls in my life today.' Spider-Man thought chasing after Doc Ock.
"Finally, it's mine." Doc Ock grins retrieving his device.
"Too bad you won't get the chance to use it. Not as long as I'm here!" Spider-Man said swinging in.
"A situation, easily remedied." Doc Ock said swinging an arm at Spider-Man forcing him to dodge.
Using another arm he grabs Spider-Man by the leg and slams him to the ground.
"As I was saying." Doc Ock opens his harness about to switch out the packs.
Suddenly Miss Martian flies through the dock with her intangibility and yanks the packs out his hands.
"No!" He gasps.
Firing his webs, Spider-Man spins Doc Ock around and around before throwing him towards Wonder Woman.
Pulling her fist back she punches Doc Ock square in the harness sending him crashing into a broken ride.
Panting heavily the three heroes look at each other and smile. They stopped the villain and saved the park.
Soon the police came to deal with Doc Ock, as the crime scene was being dealt with Diana had a little victory ice cream in her hands as she walked away.
"Hmm, maybe I'll come here again sometime." She said.
As Jaden and Megan joined up with the others Liz and Flash were sitting at a bench away from everyone.
"Hey, what's going on?" Jaden asks.
"What's going on?! Are you kidding me? They're breaking up. Flash Thompson and Liz Allen, Midtown's number 1 Power Couple are calling it quits. And it's all your fault!" Sally blames.
"My fault?" Jaden said confused.
"Dude kudos on the ruthlessness." Harry applauds.
"What? No, I mean..." Jaden stutters as Glory and Sally went to comfort her.
"Tiger now is not the best time," MJ said.
"Yeah, I can tell that Sally is really hostile right now towards you," Megan said and she didn't need to read minds to see that.
"Jaden I know this isn't the best time with the soap opera break up and the supervillain but we really need to talk to Harry," Gwen said.
"Fine. Let's just do this." Jaden said but when he tried to find Harry he was long gone. "Wait, he was just here?"
Back at Harry's suite, he was laying in his room chugging down another beaker of the green with a smile on his face. Little did he know Hammerhead was talking to Norman in his study.
"We need to talk about the Green Goblin. The wacko's attacking all the Big Man's operations. And he's been using a lot of OSCORP Tech." Hammerhead accuses.
"My tech has been stolen. My top scientist is gone, my lab is destroyed and my projects are at risk. Why would I be behind this?" Norman asks showing footage of the Green Goblin sabotaging Otto.
"Yeah yeah, but the Goblin…" Hammerhead starts.
"Is a common enemy. An enemy we must unmask before its too late." Norman declares.
