Classes & boredom
Hey everyone I'm back, and once more this was written way in advance, and for anyone thinking that tricking the root, is impossible, it has been tricked before, that's why Ciel is immortal, because the root thinks she's Roa, so as long as Roa is alive she can't die. therefore the root can be tricked it's just a very difficult task. Also I'm planning to continue with the omake's so I get better at making them longer. And also I don't own Type-Moon.
Clock Tower, 11 days till Zeltretch's return, September 18th 2000
Currently inside the class room of one Lord El-Melloi II, Alexander is sitting at a desk, with his head resting on his arms, the reason Alexander is like this is because Zelretch put his classes down as being four hours earlier than they actually are, so for the past two hours Alexander has just been sitting down waiting very anxiously, than very annoyed, now just very tired. So, he went to sleep, and stayed that way even after the tall blacked haired man wearing a red coat and yellow scarf enters the room.
After the man enters the room, he almost immediately notices the teenager sleeping in his class two hours early, confused the man walks to Alexander, and gently shakes his shoulder, only to be punched square in the face by the startled Alexander, falling back the man lets out a noise of surprise and pain. Alexander realizing what he's done says
"Oh! I'm so sorry are you okay?" he asks while still partly being ready to punch the man again just in case. Holding his severely broken nose, the man which Alexander now recognizes as Waver Velvet looks at Alexander, and mumbles under his breath before getting louder "ugh, been awhile since I've been hit that hard. Mister Silver did you Reinforce yourself on that punch?" he questions while viewing the glowing light coming from underneath Alexander's sweater
Looking down to his glowing shoulder, he quickly turns the circuits off, and looks slightly away and starts whistling. "don't just pretend nothing happened!" Waver shouts, while pointing an accusatory finger at Alexander. Still whistling, Alexander just stands there, till Waver lets out a noise of frustration and head back to his podium, behind Alexander, so from his point of view he lets out a noise of frustration and moves very quickly at him. So he punched him again... only this time knocking him out, just as the classroom door opens and opening the door is a very tall and fit man wearing a three-piece suit with a yellow tie, the person he is opening the door for is Luvia Edelfelt.
Luvia walking in on the scene of Alexander knocking out, Lord El-Melloi the second, lifts the back of her hand to her face and starts uncontrollably laughing "Ohohoho!" hearing this Alexander turns to see Luvia, and quickly looks back down towards the unconscious teacher, giving the downed man a halfhearted kick to make sure he was knocked out, he turns back around and says.
"I guess this means this class is out for today." he says, before walking out the door, and tries to figure out what he wants to do for the next few hours, well that was before Luvia snaps out of her laughing fit, and catches Alexander before he can fully leave.
"Alexander I take it since you were in Lord El-Melloi's class, that you completed the test Zelretch gave you." she states, getting a nod in response. "May I see it?" she asks, Alexander understanding her request pulls out his nameless mystic-code.
Seeing it's a gun, a sour expression appears on her face before she looks closer and her eyes widen with shock, "Alexander...?" she says very slowly. "Yes?" he questions slightly confused. Grabbing Alexander by the collar Luvia holds him there and asks, "You made this right?" this time getting a very fearful nod. The Edelfelt, then precedes to drag our very scared protagonist out of the clock tower.
Scene change
After being basically kidnapped once more, Alexander is now sitting on a very fancy chair, and deliberately making sure to not drink his tea, not out of concern of being poisoned, because he really hates tea, after signaling her servants to leave. Luvia looks directly at Alexander, and says
"You have no idea what you did do you?" she asks while staring him straight in the eye, Alexander wrongly assuming what she's talking about, responds with "Repaired a Noble Phantasm?" hearing this Luvia sits there for a few seconds completely silent, and very softly almost too quiet to be heard, says "A Noble Phantasm." very softly under her breath, before looking back at Alexander.
"Very well, we'll add the fact it's a Noble Phantasm to the discussion, but first, this mystic-code has Ten primordial Runes engraved on it, four of which have been lost, and not only that but it is a Noble Phantasm!?" she says slowly going into a rant, letting out a harsh breath, she looks back down at the seated Alexander and asks. "Do you realize that either one of those would bring up the discussion of placing a sealing designation on you, and both almost guaranteeing it being placed upon you". Hearing this Alexander is officially freaking out
Noticing him start to freak out, Luvia holds up her hands in a nonthreatening manner and says, "Calm down, I doubt Zelretch would just let you die that easily so, you just have to keep what you did a secret till he comes back." she says trying to calm him down
"I don't understand why the runes are such a big deal, they coincide with Nordic runes." Alexander remarks, slightly calming down. Luvia hearing this takes a deep breath preparing to give him another Lecture.
Alexander still reeling from the very extensive lecture, about how while the Nordic rune's look the same, they cannot be used in the same ways as primordial runes because, the user has to know exactly what mystery each rune enacts, and if a single mistake is made during their carving, it could lead to disastrous consequences.
"Now do you understand why the runes are of grave importance?" She asks him, nodding his head once more the Edelfelt letting out a sigh of relief, before remembering the other detail about the weapon. "You said it's a Noble phantasm, correct?" She says receiving another nod. "This was yours, right?" another nod
"Alexander, what did your other self-do to become a Heroic-Spirit?" She says asking no one, Alexander in response to this says, "Oh no, it was artificially made." Luvia turns to him with a very blank look on her face, and just lets out a "Huh?" as she is very shocked, realizing his mistake and that's it's already to late, Alexander attempts to prepare himself for what comes next
"How?!" Luvia exclaims, far undercutting Alexander's expectations, relieved Alexander answers to the best of his capability. "Apparently I tricked the root into thinking it was a noble phantasm long enough for it to become one." "..." the silence from the Edelfelt after this statement was far more impactful than any of the lectures Alexander has been subject to since his arrival in this time.
Alexander sitting there across the still quiet Edelfelt, waiting there for her to come back to her senses. A minute, another, till finally She grabs Alexander's hands and says. "Do you have the research notes on this?" she asks although hiding it well, extremely excited to read about the process.
Silver resident, 9 days till Zelretch's return, September 20th 2000
After the event at the Luvia's place, she preceded to drag Alexander back to his house, and they started reading through the previous Alexander's work, Apparently, he didn't really like Luvia, not that Alexander was going to tell her that. Though as to not appear suspicions Alexander still attends classes, though still awkward between him and Waver, he still prefers his class to the others. When not doing that, Alexander reads through the files Zeltretch gave him about his target, according to the file his target is doing research into Reality Marbles and is attempting to build one, and judging by the notes in the margin in his hand writing, the other Alexander laid out a decent plan on how to deal with him, on October fifth teen.
Though reading through said plans does leave him with some worry's on his other self's mental health, Alexander still decides to take the previous plan and build upon it more. "Uhm, Luvia?" He asks the girl pouring over research paper after research paper, only to be ignored by the entranced girl. "Luvia!" he shouts this time getting her attention.
"My apologies, yes?" she says turning her attention towards Alexander, "What exactly is a reality marble?" Hearing this Luvia responses with "Why?" in question, "the only thing's in reference to them is a note saying, if you encounter a golden ass-hole, high-tail it to, someone with Unlimited Blade Works, preferably Archer." Luvia is understandable confused by this note, "it says what?" she asks before taking the note and reading through it
"Your other self knew someone with a reality marble?" Luvia says asking herself, to which Alexander just shrugs having long since given up on trying to make sense of the events unfolding around him. "I wouldn't put too much on that since there's also a note saying don't expect Archer to help you unless it benefits him." he says relaying the note
"Archer? Is it referring to the servant class?" she says piecing the notes together, "Considering everything I found on the heaven's feel was second hand accounts I don't think I met anyone there" Alexander says dismissing the possibility, searching through the books for one on reality marble's, due to his lack of knowledge of the subject he passes right over the book entitled 'About the foreign logic of Demons' and ends up finding nothing on the subject.
Remembering the question, Luvia starts the explanation on reality marbles, judging by the fact you're reading this you should already, know what a reality marble is, there for, there will not be a lore dump on the history of reality marbles.
Sitting down Alexander nods his head then says, "They're basically portable bounded fields" as a way to retain the information, the deadpan stare he received after this summarization, "that is your take away from what I just explained to you?" she asks slightly pissed, calming down Luvia looks at Alexander and sighs to herself "How can someone so brilliant, be such a dunce?" she mutters under her breath.
"Am I the first American you've met?" Alexander overhearing this sarcastically asks, ignoring him she returns to the papers, "You know even though I've been here for nearly a month I feel as though I've only ever talked to five people, I mean I rush out of classes faster than anyone, so I basically don't talk to them. Kind of glad though if what's in the book is true." Alexander says while skimming through another research paper.
"Yet in that time you've made more progress than someone dedicating their entire life to a subject, recovering four Primordial Runes is a very big accomplishment-" Luvia starts getting interrupted by Alexander with "Twelve."... A pause, before she turns to Alexander slowly, "Twelve?" looking up from his paper Alexander says "I know another eight." Luvia standing up quickly moves to Alexander and grabs him. Her patience final broken she shakes him by collar and shouts "How?!" right in his face.
About to respond Alexander stops, realizing he doesn't remember when he learned them, cursing internally Alexander just shrugs his shoulders, "I'm going to get something to drink." he says wanting to get away from the encounter as quickly as possible, Leaving the library Alexander head down stairs before feeling a familiar feeling in the back of his head so he rushes and open the front door, only to see a very suspicious package, with the most dread filling text on it.
To Alexander
From Zelretch
Kicking the box before jumping back into the house, when Alexander doesn't hear anything, he looks out side to see it not exploded, he takes it inside and calls out. "Luvia don't come down stairs, Zelretch sent me something!" setting the box on the table, Alexander carefully opens it, looking inside Alexander sees a bird cage and a small note, it reads.
Ah Alexander, you're probably worried about the bird cage, don't worry it's just a bird cage, I just forgot to bring it to your house, till now anyway see you soon.
Looking at the note Alexander looks back up to the bird cage and scoffs to himself, bringing the bird cage up the stairs he goes into the attic and places the cage up there clearly not trusting Zelretch. Closing the attic Alexander goes back into the kitchen and gets some water before heading back up to the library.
"What did Zelretch send you?" Luvia asks curious and slightly worried, "A bird cage." Alexander replies simply. "It's not just a bird cage Is it." She states clearly not trusting Zelretch, shaking his head Alexander just focuses on his current problem resolved to deal with it after.
And they continue doing that for the next few hours, just sitting there studying quietly. Or in Juvia's case moving through paper after paper, clearly not fully understanding the research infront of her. Mostly due to it being very vague on the process.
Friday, September 29, 2000, day of Zelretch's return
The next Nine days are spent very similarly, especially after Luvia realized the amount of information on Heroic Spirts Alexander actually has, including the best servants for the Heavens feel ritual. Though the longer time spent researching and attending classes, started to actually bore Alexander to his Surprise, he fully expected to always be worrying over every interaction he has. Especially since while not what he wanted to do with his life, learning about Mage-craft and it's uses, should interest him, but the subjects he actually enjoys end up feeling cheap, with the ease in which he learns the subject.
Over the days this boredom only grew until Alexander was actually exited to finally see what this mysterious Item is. Though this curiosity still doesn't outweigh the worry of meeting the Magician again.
So brings Alexander to him having a nice breakfast out in his backyard of many bird-baths, reading about bounded fields, to attempt to find uses for the runes he's learned, while focused on his book, and with the Edelfelt, still asleep in the guest room. When suddenly Alexander pulls his Nameless pistol and points it at Zelretch who is now sitting calmly and drinking some tea that wasn't there before.
"Ah a bit jumpy, aren't we?" He asks with a chuckle, clearly not threatened by Alexander, making a sound of exasperation Alexander place's the pistol back in its holster, before looking at Zelretch, and saying "If the roles were reversed, I'm sure you would be too." Alexander says electing a chuckle from Zelretch.
"I'm not too sure about that, but I can see you're using the Mystic-code-" The magician starts before Alexander interrupts with "Artificial-Phantasm" Hearing this Zelretch's smile deepens. "Impressive if you figured that out you may have very well restored it, may I?" He asks holding out his hand, unholstering the pistol and making sure it's unloaded and the safety is on he gives it to Him.
Examining the Mystic-code Zelretch takes only a few moments before saying, "Very well, passible performance, you pass, truth be told I was hoping you'd fail." Zeltretch informs Alexander, passing the pistol back. "Now I would like to hear you're best guess on what the item is." Alexander taking a moment to think says "It's either something about Primordial Runes or noble-phantasms" Alexander answers, smiling deeper Zelretch responses with
"You're incorrect, the reason I wanted you is because on your other self's expertise on crystalized belief, and the Heaven's feel, what I'd like for you to study is this." Zelretch says pulling out a card about the size of a tarot card, depicting a thin human bound in multiple chains.
Omake Servant summoning 2
Inside an abandoned ware house above a ley-line Alexander stands having just finished summoning another servant, standing infront of Alexander is a Tall blonde-haired man, preparing to give a speech, Alexander holds up his right hand and stops him by saying, "Saber, by the power of my command seal kill yourself in the most embarrassing and painful way possible." as a part of the red mark on his hand vanishes in a wave of red hitting the saber servant, they precede to take their own sword and, well does something the narrator is not comfortable speaking about. Thus, leaving Alexander alone in Fuyuki having just killed his own servant.
And that's it, yes, a Class card, I'll explain more about it in the next chapter. And just to be clear I said nothing about Alexander dealing with class cards. Also, second servant on the list crossed off, obviously Jason, fyi every omake unless stated otherwise should be consider unimportant to the story. But that's pretty much all I have to say about this chapter.
