So yes, I played fast and loose with the lore of this story. Deal. *sparkles*
Now, some information: There are 29 chapters. This story HAS BEEN WRITTEN IN FULL. It's a standalone. It is Kogha/Sooga/Link. Deal? Just happened really. If you see something that is glaringly obvious, then I am sorry. No beta as of this moment.
Remember, this is fanfiction and I'm doing this for free.
Also, fanfic and my email are having a beef so I will try to check on messages but if you comment on my older stuff, might not catch it. Sorry.
Enjoy!
Waking up with a choking gasp, rolling off of the bed that he was resting in during their visit in the Zora domain, Link scrambled up from the floor. He ran into the soft bathroom just in time to lose whatever was left in his stomach from the night before, shuddering at the dream...nightmare that he had woken up from. The sound of Mipha padding into the bathroom filtered through the thundering heartbeat in his ears. He figured absently that she had been called by either Impa or Zelda the moment he had run.
She frowned, worried about him as he got sick again, holding his hair back out of the way.
"Link, do you need anything?" she asked him. Link pulled away from the toilet as he shivered in the aftershocks. He shook his head before pausing and signing for some water to rinse out his mouth. She looked up to the young guard who had escorted her and nodded at him, the male going to get the requested water. He was soon back and handing the cup over with a bow before he moved back to stand in the doorway of the home that the group was resting in.
Link took the offered water, swished it around in his mouth, rinsing it out before spitting it out into the toilet before flushing it. He blushed as he rubbed at his face, feeling the Master Sword where it still rested hum with worry for him.
'Sorry about that. I think it was just a very intense nightmare. I hope at least,' Link told her before he stood from the floor. Mipha helped him to stand with a worried frown. She could feel something lingering around him along with his emotions and was worried about that lingering.
"It is fine, Link. You did scare Princess Zelda, Impa and your guards though," she said softly. Link shook his head as he returned to his bedroom, sitting down in the chair at the small desk. "What was your nightmare about?" she asked, taking the other chair for herself. He placed the rest of the water he had been given down as he sighed.
Zelda and Impa walked into the room quickly after. The Princess looked worried, torn about how she should feel about what just happened. Link looked up and waved them further into the room, Mipha pointing to the small love-seat against one wall.
Impa was frowning as she poked at the Shiekah Slate, the screen blinking with every touch.
Link frowned at that and reached out a hand, silently asking if he could see the slate for a moment. Impa and Zelda shared a look before the young Shiekah protector shrugged and handed it over. "It started to blink with the Tri-Force symbol just before you got sick. It keeps telling me I can't access it right now. I haven't seen if the Princess can or not but..."
She stopped talking as Link, looking as if he was in a trance, tapped the screen and one of the points on the Tri-Force glowed and unlocked the slate.
"How in the world?" Impa yelped, Zelda leaning forward with wide eyes.
Link sighed as he continued to tap and swipe at the screen, following the new knowledge, sometimes tilting his head as if listening to something that only he could hear before he continued. He would swipe and tap accordingly and finally turned it around as the screen that he wanted was opened. Eyes that were like nothing any of them had ever seen gazed out at them as hair that seemingly changed colors flowed around them.
"My dear, Chosen Children, how I wish I did not have to do this to any of you. For none of you are truly ready for what I must tell you," came a soft echoing voice that reverberated deep within all of their souls. "I send this message to you before you are to head to Gerudo Town to see the Chosen Geurdo Champion, Queen Urbosa. I ask that you save my dear Love's children, the ones that you call the Yiga Clan. Once upon a time, they had been the chosen hidden protectors of the one male that would forever be the King of the Gerudo king."
"Wait, are you telling me that the Yiga had been chosen as protectors?" Impa yelped, staring with wide eyes at the tablet. Link simply tilted his head and nodded once.
'Just like the Sheikah had chosen to be the protectors and advisers to the Royal Family of Hyrule, the Yiga had been chosen to protect and act as advisers to the Gerudo Kings,' Link signed, having placed the slate onto the table against his water glass. 'Do not ask me how I know this. This has to do with whatever it was that I saw in my sleep,' he continued.
Impa blinked as she sat back once more on the couch. She nodded, and started to stare at the floor as she processed things. Zelda just sank back into the love-seat with wide eyes.
"He is correct, my Chosen Ones. Zelda, you don't just carry my blood but my legacy. My power. You are much to hard on yourself though. You and your father both are much to hard on you. All of my dependents work to find themselves when they are young so that they know what is important to themselves and what it is they wish to protect. Stop being so hard. Allow yourself time to come to terms with your own power and mind," the voice said.
"She's Goddess Hylia," Zelda finally said, putting the information together quickly. The eyes crinkled at the outer edges as if the Goddess was smiling at her. "You...why? How?" she asked.
"Unfortunately, I am unable to tell you all of the things that I wish I can because I am limited in the time I have. The Malice is growing ever stronger, my Children. When you go to Gerudo Town, Link will know what to say and what to do while there. Trust in him. Get Champion Urbosa to listen to you all. You must also get the Yiga clan to stand by your side. A piece of the future that is set to happen has returned to this time with a very special Mini Guardian," Hylia stated as Terrako walked into the room, sleepily beeping. "You must put aside your misconceptions of each other and learn the truth, Zelda. Each and every one of you must be steady and true to the growing bond between you all."
Zelda looked over the small group and truly took in Link for the first time since she had met him as the holder of the Master Sword. Since he had been named her personal guard by her father's decree. She had thought that he was there to just stifle her curiosity about the world but being told to really look at her personal guard...
He was just an inch shorter then herself and was just as young as she was, on the cusp of his eighteenth year is she remembered correctly.
She knew that he had been born to a higher class family that was known for producing those who became Royal Guards, both male and female. He had joined their army as was his duty and pleasure, but he hadn't asked to be the one chosen by the Sword to hold it. The very Master Sword that the tales said would be the one to seal away Calamity Ganon once again.
Thinking about that though, she felt as if there something different this time. They had all heard the legends of the Three Chosen to hold the Tri-Force in this world. But they didn't know how the Tri-Force of Power had been so very corrupted.
Licking her lips, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she remembered the words that her mother had once told her when she had gotten sick. Your power will come to you at the right moment. Not a moment soon nor a moment later. Trust in the Goddess. Trust in your future Knight. And trust in your Champions. You will find the truth of your strength when it is time.
She opened her eyes at a moment and nodded once. "Yes, Goddess Hylia," she said. Link smiled very slightly, approving. A small thing that showed that yes, he was still in pain, most likely a headache. "I will do all that I can do to learn how to be strong for not just us, but for myself. And how to truly trust you all."
Link nodded as he turned to look to Mipha and Impa, both women nodding in agreement. 'We will work on building our bonds from now on,' he said, holding the slate in hand as he picked up his water to sip. Putting it down, he continued. 'We will need to trust in each other and any allies that may come to help us as we fight. I don't want to see this happen to any of us again if at all possible.'
Mipha gasped, hand pressed over her mouth. "Your nightmare!" she said, voice filled with worry. "What did you see?"
Link looked at Mipha before he turned to the tablet, getting an agreeing tilt of the eyes. 'I saw death. I saw myself with no memories and doing this with absolutely no help beyond the four new Champions. I saw a ruined land and pain that has lingered even a hundred years after the Calamity. I saw the darkness that would destroy the world just to get back at the Goddess Hylia. I saw Zelda, older than her physical years and holding the Calamity back for so long that she had lost all of the innocence that makes her, her.'
Zelda swallowed, curling her hands into fists as she shivered, an icy touch sliding down her back as she stared at Link.
