"Ehhh, Tazawa, this is stupid, we're late and Gorar might actually have our heads this time!"
Tazawa Masuya yawned as his partner shook him, "Kinosakiiiii, the heir's portrait isn't until eleven."
"IT IS ELEVEN!" Kinosaki Kou, the God of Writing screamed, "We're late!"
The God of Art slowly sat up and Gora knocked on the door. "Ah, did he fall asleep again?" He asked and Kou sighed, "Y-yes...your majesty."
They were in the parlor of the palace and Kou jumped as Gora placed a hand onto his shoulder. "I-is the heir ready?"
Gora smiled, "Yes, he just arrived, don't worry too much. He was running late too."
Kou let out a breath of air and smiled, "G-good!"
The doors swung open and Masuya stood from his chair. The duo were led into the ballroom and the heir stood there, crossing his arms at his older guardians.
"Meanie!" He stuck his tongue out at the God of Fire, who groaned, "You don't have to call me that!"
The God of Light huffed and turned away from him.
"Enough, enough, my love." Tungsten's gentle voice spoke as he put his hands onto the boy's shoulder.
"A-ah..." Yumoto gasped out and looked at his suitor. "Araki...it's fine."
Kou blinked as Gora led them up to him, "Yumoto, they're here for your portrait. You kept the God of Art waiting."
The heir froze and bowed quickly to Kou and Masuya, "I apologize...I lost track of time, how may I make it up to you?"
Kou shook his head, "You...you don't have to! We're sorry if we upset you."
Yumoto broke his proper poise as he began to laugh as he grabbed Kou's hands. "I'm so glad you two made it safe and sound! Things have improved so much since Hireashi was sealed away!"
Kou nodded and Yumoto giggled, "May love always guide you, God of Writing."
Kou blushed and Gora grabbed Yumoto's shoulder, "Come on, let the God of Art tell you how to pose so he may draw your portrait and go home."
Yumoto frowned and Gora sighed, "Please."
"Yes."
The heir smiled quickly and Vesta sighed as he watched the boy stand there. Gora looked at him, "Vesta, has he told you any dreams of late?"
The God of Fire froze, "Has he told you?"
"No...I've seen the look he gets when he wakes up."
Vesta nodded and watched as the session began. He bit his lip, what was Gora sensing...?
In the heir's room that evening, Yumoto sat there with his suitor, talking about their day.
Yumoto laughed as he looked at Tungsten, he tucked a small daisy into his silver locks and looked at him, "Do...do you feel it too?"
"What do you mean?" Tungsten asked and looked at Yumoto's face, "What's wrong?"
"I have...been..." the heir stopped mid-sentence and turned his head quickly towards the window. "Did you hear that?"
The other God blinked, "What do you mean?"
"I thought..." Yumoto frowned, "I thought someone called my name."
Tungsten looked at him and held his hands tightly, "No one called for you. What is wrong?"
Yumoto bit his lip and sighed, "Dreams of darkness." He spoke quickly, "Something is going to happen! I should have sealed the others away!"
Tungsten shook his head, "Yumoto...it's okay!"
The heir looked away, "I'm terrified." He confessed, "I haven't told anyone..."
"Why?"
"Everyone is so happy..." the heir whispered and his suitor frowned, "Yumoto.."
Yumoto looked at him, "Araki, I just...I don't want anyone to worry."
His suitor shook his head quickly, "You're not."He grabbed Yumoto's hand, "Nothing bad is going to happen, I promise."
Kou sighed as he and Masuya walked inside the mansion that night. "That was almost a disaster!" He cried and Masuya yawned, "It wasn't though."
Kou shook his head, "Gorar could have killed us if we were late!"
The God of Art yawned and the God of Writing looked at his partner. "Wish I was as confident as you!" He shook his head and looked up as he heard a crash from the kitchen. The Gods froze and Kou glanced at Masuya, "The...maid is already gone for the night, yes?"
Masuya nodded, "Yes, she always goes home around seven, mama always makes her."
Kou frowned, "Okay…well let...let's go check out the kitchen."
Masuya shrugged as they slowly went into it. Kou froze as a small hedgehog was standing on the counter, next to a squirrel. "Who…?"
The two animals shot up and the hedgehog smirked as it stood onto its hind legs. "Gods of Writing and Art...we need your help."
"For what?" Kou questioned and the hedgehog replied, "Getting the heir of love to Lord Hireashi!"
Kou froze as he jumped back, hitting Masuya's arms with his own, "No!" he cried, "You know, we're not against his majesty!"
"My name is Zundar, I work for him! You two…" he laughed, "are going to play a huge part in our grand scheme."
"W-why?" the God of Art choked out, his partner looked just as confused and Zundar smiled, "Won't hurt at all, we just need you two to bring him to us, we'll do the rest."
The Gods frowned and Zundar sighed as he turned quickly into his human form. "You two will do exactly as I tell you! Lord Hireashi picked you two out specifically!" He grabbed Kou and Masuya's shoulders. "And you have no say in it."
Kou paled and Masuya's dark eyes widened as Zundar carried on, "The Spirit of the first God of Love resinates inside of the heirs...Gorar is too strong for us, but...Scarlet caused all of this...he is the one who sealed Lord Hireashi and now must pay…with his life."
"S-so…"
"So, the boy with the golden power...must be given to us to free Lord Hireashi!" he spat and Kou watched in the corner of his eye, as Zundar formed a glowing green needle in each hand. "Don't worry." Zundar laughed, "once we have the heir's life, you'll be free."
Kou screamed as the needle was shoved into his neck, Masuya didn't make a sound...the duo collapsed to the ground and Zundar looked at the squirrel, "I told you it would work, Dadacha...now we must get the heir of love…"
"And Lord Hireashi gets his soul and roams free?" Dadacha asked and Zundar laughed, "Exactly."
Yumoto sat up in bed quickly as he let out a cry of terror, his guardian,Wombat, shot up quickly, "Yumoto-san!?"
"Something is wrong!" the heir cried as he threw his blankets off, the boy shot out of bed and ran out of his room, Wombat following him as the heir ran down the halls in his pure white night tunic. The heir threw Argent's doors open quickly, "A-Argent!" He screamed as he threw himself into his guardian's chest, "Something is terribly wrong!"
The God of Protection frowned and looked at him, "What is it? You look horrified…"
Yumoto frowned, "Darkness...everything is dark! The end of light forever! Art and Writing…"
Argent shook his head, "Calm down...it's alright."
"My seal isn't strong enough." Yumoto choked out, "I had a dream that the Gods of Art and Writing were working for darkness…!"
As he spoke, Perlite stood, "Yes...you're correct…" he whispered, "I saw it happen, Zundar is furious at you. Checking the seal is wise. You...you can free him again."
"H-huh?" Yumoto whispered and Perlite sighed, "Zundar wants to use you and your brother somehow. This isn't good…" he bit his lip. "I cannot see any farther."
Yumoto froze and Wombat looked at them, "Perlite...what do we do?"
"I…" the Gods looked at one another, "I don't know."
The heir looked down and wrung his hands together, "The Gods of Art and Writing don't deserve this...can't we save them?"
"Eventually, yes. For now, no."
"Then...I will talk to my father about it…"
Argent placed a hand onto Yumoto's shoulder, "it's okay. We won't let anything happen to you."
"Y-You promise?"
"Promise."
Zundar laughed as he eyed the area where Hireashi was sealed, he sat next to the stone marker and spoke, "Soon, everything will be back and the world will be ours. The heir just needs to be lured here and not to the sword of love…" he sighed and put a paw on the stone spike, "His soul will be yours soon!"
