A story based on the Jak and Daxter series, starting with Jak 1, all the way to Jak Lost Frontier, with a couple nods to the Daxter spinoff. Also, spoilers for the entire series are everywhere, so be forewarned.

The main character will be called Dora Harvey. With this out of the way, let's begin.

Nothing was worse than having Dora for a name, I thought. How wrong I was. My life was a cavalcade of craziness, mostly involving my family. My mother was arrested for prostitution (which was how I was born in the first place), my father for tax evasion, my grandma for arson, and my grandpa for trying to rob a gas station with a shotgun!

It seemed as though I was the lone good egg in a family of insane people, which made me concerned if any of their crimes would trickle down to me at some point. Luckily, they didn't, and I was able to live my own life after I was the only one in the family to have stayed out of the court system and the state prison. And I was still able to get enough money to be a gamer and live on my own, which included me being able to play my favorite series on Playstation. The Jak and Daxter series. I proceeded to pop in the disc as per usual... and then, out of nowhere, I felt a shock of some weird feeling hit me like a ton of bricks! And then... I passed out!

...

...

"Wa... p... wa.e... u... WAKE UP!" I heard a voice shout at me afterwards, me then jolting awake and getting into a defensive stance of Kung-Fu, which is when I looked aroiund and saw... I was in a very, VERY vibrant room, with a gigantic carnivorous plant nearby and two different humans, one being a blonde in blue tunic and the other being a redhead in red tunic. And everyone looked... cartoony. And had super long ears?!

"WHOA!" I shouted in shock.

"Where did you come from? You just up and appeared out of nowhere!" asked the voice of an old curmudgeon, me looking in the direction of the voice and seeing... old Samos the Sage, but him being about two years younger than I was used to, same with Jak and Daxter. And the old guy's bird was the dead giveaway, as it was a juvenile and not a fully grown bird.

"I-I honestly don't know," I said with concern, him then looking at me and poking his stick at my ears... why was he doing that.

"Your ears are so small. Not pointed whatsoever. Could it be you come from another dimension?" he asked, me nodding.

"T-That's right! I was about to... um..." I frowned before knowing that, at this point in time, these guys had no idea what video games were... so I had to lie. "I was looking in a mirror, fooling around and stuff... and then I suddenly felt like I got shocked by something. I pass out, and I wake up on the ground to mister loghead's voice," I frowned.

"That's Samos the Sage to you, little girl!" he shouted at me, which made me frown. Yet another thing about me that I hated, me being a dwarf of 4 foot 3 inches.

"I'm not a little girl. I'm a fully grown adult of 22 years old. I just look small because I have Dwarfism," I frowned at him.

"Um... what is this 'dwarfism'?" Daxter asked me... still so weird seeing his human form, even if he was looking... almost like he were 13 at this point in time.

"It's when a human, which is what I am, is born with a defect that stunts their vertical growth. Other terms include little people, midget, and Minnies... but don't call me the latter two, because those ones are seen as insults," I said with a frown.

"So what's your name then?" Daxter asked, me smirking.

"Dora's the name. And who are you guys?" I asked.

"I'm Daxter! He's Jak. He's with me," Daxter smirked, me looking at the tall guy with the blonde hair and him smiling and shaking his head.

"Can he talk?" I asked.

"Nope, he's been mute ever since the first day we met," Daxter smiled.

"Does he know other forms of communication? Like maybe sign language, morse code?" I asked, which Jak smirked and started to do signing.

"I know how to sign, I didn't know I'd ever meet someone else who did," he signed to me, which made me smirk.

"What'd he say?" Daxter smirked. I then translated for him and Jak gave a thumbs-up at how I did it perfectly. And it was then that I saw another form appear, me seeing it was none other than Keira, her looking to be 13 as well, which she looked just as tall as I did at this time, but with a developing body as opposed to her buxom one that she'd get in... only two years or so.

"Wow! I never thought anyone would be able to understand Jak! Only I could before!" she smirked. "O-Oh my! You look so... so unique!" Keira smirked as she moved past the duo and started to inspect me as if I were an art exhibit. "Were you shrunk? Why are your ears so small? You're so tiny, but you've got quite a big bust! Do you mind if I got a sample of your hair?" she asked, me being weirded out. I knew she was a scientist by trade, but this was a bit much.

"Uh, hehe... I'm really uncomfortable right now... how about I just give you a lock of hair and call it a day? No taking blood, and I'll just tell you I'm like this because of a birth defect and leave it at that?" I smiled at her.

"Okay, I got it, sorry, I'm just so excited whenever I see something unique," she giggled as I then gave her a bit of my hair via cutting it off with a small blade that was nearby, a gardening knife. And after doing so, I then sighed contentedly.

"So... the ultimate question... what do I do now?" I asked, which Samos then looked at me closer and then touched me with his hand, me then gawking at how I felt... almost like I were super calm? Like I were mellowed out on weed? And then I looked at Jak and he smiled at me and started to sign again.

"I didn't know you could channel eco, too. First time on green eco is always a trip and a half," Jak said, me smirking and doing a small, giggle, but inside my head, I was stunned. I had the power to channel eco? If I could use green eco... what about the other forms?... And hopefully nothing involving the terrible force known as Dark Eco.

"Hehe... it feels tingly... I needed this... I was having an internal panic attack..." I said with a smile.

"Hmm... how very interesting... you seem to be able to channel eco just as well as Jak could, and without any training whatsoever. I've been having the boy train on channeling eco for a couple years and he's still learning," Samos said, me giggling at that. "If you wish, I can assist you in your training... but on ONE condition. You must NEVER go to Misty Island. Got that?" he asked, me smirking and giving a thumbs-up.

"Yeah... c-can I lay down for a bit? I need to make sure I'm not dreaming," I smiled, Keira then leading me downstairs to her workshop and showing that there was actually a hidden basement under her workshop, where it had three beds made up... and I then realized I'd need to either make my own bed or share one with Keira.

"For temporary, until we can get you your own bed, you'll bunk with me. And don't worry about the boys getting on our side of the room. I've set boundaries so they don't get funny ideas," Keira smirked, me then seeing that, with a push of a button, our rooms separated, and our sides were given a new wall and each side got a new way of exit via an escape hatch, only able to be opened from the inside.

"Smart idea, I will admit that... goodnight, Keira," I smiled as I laid in the bed.

"You mean good afternoon, right?"

"Nice try... when I open my eyes, I'll be back in my apartment, ready to work at the deli tomorrow," I smiled back.

"Um... apartment? Deli? Y'know what, nevermind. I'll ask you when you 'wake up' tomorrow," she said, me smirking and falling asleep with help from the Green Eco.

Only this time, when I went to bed... I realized I wasn't in my world. I was still in this Jak and Daxter world and my form still looked as it did when I was sent here. Basically, my entire bodily proportions stayed the same, but with the cartoony looks of the game series, based off of Jak 2/3 appearance. And I was in a big room of sorts, with me seeing the forms of the ghostly avatars of the precursors around me, each one being a different color. Green, yellow, red, blue, dark, even light eco!

"Greetings, fabled warrior from a distant world... we have long awaited the one that was filled with a perfect balance of the Darkness and the Light," the voice of the Precursor said that represented yellow eco, which I frowned at.

"If you know who I am and my backstory, then why try to fool me with those illusionary forms? I know what you really are, you know?" I frowned, the Precursors looking at each other and then at me.

"We are well aware, and for that, we will silence your mouth forever should you wish to speak of it to anyone before it is time," the one with the Light eco said, me frowning at that.

"Yeesh, don't want that... okay, fine. So why pluck me from my old life and bring me here? Sure, not much to go back to, but I still had friends I was fond of!" I frowned at them.

"We sensed that, should we not have interfered, you would've been caught in a deadly blaze that would've taken your life, caused by a bomb in the apartment building made of 60 pounds of teranyte," he said, me gawking at that. I would've been in a blast that bad? And their words were proven when they showed me the fact that, a few minutes after I would've been knocked out by the zap of electricity, the explosion would've taken out half of the building AND would've set my entire room on fire!

"Well, I see now... but how about you speak with regular voices when talking to me on my own? I'm not really good with the echo in my head, you see," I said, the one to speak next being the one in the green Eco.

"Fine, you win, but if you tell anyone, your mouth goes goodbye," the voice said, me sighing in relief, especially when it sounded like a female rather than all the male Precursors I'd seen prior.

"Understood... and now for a question I've always wanted to ask since day one. The Precursor Stone being an egg. Do the females lay the eggs? Or are you able to give birth without it?" I asked, which made the red eco Precursor speak.

"That's SERIOUSLY one of the questions you have for us?" he asked in annoyance.

"Uh huh, yes it is. Mainly because I don't know how a union of two Ottsels would result in an egg, when they're mammals," I pouted. The green Eco girl spoke after.

"If you must know, because clearly you aren't letting up, the Precursor Stones are not our eggs, they are crystallized fossils of Precursor essence. Basically, when a Precursor's life expires, they turn into an egg of pure energy. Cracking it open could destroy the universe, but it's extremely difficult to do. Metal Heads would devour it just to gain untold power, and if someone who has a link to the Precursors like you or Jak were to touch it, then it'd make the energy expel natrually and allow the Precursor to be reborn in another timeline," she explained, me smirking at the lengthy explanation...

"Thank you for answering a question I've wanted to know since playing Jak 3... okay, if this is real life, then I'm gonna need to get used to it... can you at least give me a head's-up as to when I go with the duo to Misty Island?" I asked, them nodding.

"We will give the notice to Jak during his slumber to sneak out to Misty Island with you and Daxter... when you do so, do not interfere and allow Daxter's transformation. He's to be blessed, as much as we don't want to," the Dark Eco one spoke.

"Huh... even some of you don't want Daxter to be a Precursor? Who the heck is in charge, then?"

"Our leader, from game 3. He sees potential in Daxter. Don't repeat any of this, okay?" Red spoke, me nodding.

"Promise, not a word shall escape these lips," I said. And then, finally, I woke up from the dream... and upon seeing it was nighttime and that Keira was next to me in bed, I groaned. I'd need to get used to living in this world for the next couple years... as well as the centuries into the future.
