Annabeth groaned as she heard her alarm go off, disturbing her peaceful slumber. She blindly reached for her phone as she rolled over with her eyes still closed. After a few seconds she finally found it and turned off the alarm. As she laid there she felt movement behind her and a moment later she felt an arm wrap around her midsection.

"You're breathing in my ear," Annabeth grumbled which was followed by a low chuckle behind her.

"Oh I'm sorry my little ball of joy," the male voice behind her said with a sarcastic tone. "Would you prefer that I hold my breath until I die?" Annabeth rolled over and looked up to see her boyfriend, Luke Castellan resting with his eyes still closed.

"Actually you won't die if you hold your breath," Annabeth said in a 'matter of fact' tone. "You'll pass out and then you'll start breathing again." Luke cracked one eye open to see Annabeth's smug smile and he shook his head.

"Know it all," Luke said with a smirk as he placed a kiss on Annabeth's forehead and drew her closer to him. Annabeth smiled as she felt his warmth and wished that she could just lay in this spot forever. Unfortunately her peace was disturbed once again as her second alarm went off, signaling it was time to get out of bed. She sat up as she turned off her alarm and let out a loud groan as she stretched her arms above her head. "You know you could just stay here," Luke suggested as she got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. "Ditch school and we can just live together."

"As much as I would like to ditch school sometimes, I'll have to pass," Annabeth said as she turned on the water for the shower. "I think my mother would kill me now if I just dropped out and became a stripper."

"I never said become a stripper," Luke said as she stepped into the shower. "Although we can do one on one practice if it comes to that."

"I heard that," Annabeth said with a sharp tone and Luke's laugh filled the apartment. After a few minutes she turned off the water to the shower and dried herself off. Annabeth got changed and stepped out of the bathroom to see Luke working in the kitchen and a delicious smell greeted her. Annabeth strolled over to him as he was focused on making eggs. She wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on his back as he continued to cook.

"Plate is ready," Luke said without stopping what he was doing, "Coffee too." Annabeth lifted her head and looked in the direction of the kitchen table and saw a plate was already set up for her along with a mug filled with coffee.

"Have I told you that you are incredible," Annabeth said as she stepped to his side and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"It never gets old," Luke says as he cracks a smile before Annabeth walks over and takes a seat at the table. A few seconds later Luke joins her as well with his own plate and coffee mug and they begin to eat their breakfast. This was Annabeth's favorite part of staying the night at Luke's, of course she loved being with him, but she loved his cooking even more. It was always a nice start to the day and it allowed them to escape from any outside problems they had going on.

"What's the plan for today," Annabeth asked as she finished the last of her food and picked up her coffee mug.

"I'll run into the office around ten," Luke said with a sigh as he wiped his mouth. "My boss told me that all the work we have done so far was with incorrect data. So we will have to start the whole process again."

"I'm sorry baby," Annabeth said as she reached out and rubbed the top of his knuckles. Luke has been working at a business office since he got out of college last year and for the past year it's been nothing but problems. From coworkers not knowing how to do their jobs, bosses giving ridiculous projects, and countless other issues. Annabeth tries her best to calm his stress but she notices how much Luke's work drains his mental strength.

"It's whatever," Luke said with a wave of his hand, "We've done it once so it should be easier this go around."

"You know," Annabeth said slowly, "Your dad always calls and talks about job openings at his company. It might be worth it to at least go and see what he has to offer." Luke's eyes narrowed at the mention of his father and he slowly stood up taking his and Annabeth's empty plates to the sink. "I know it's hard for you but the job you have now doesn't seem any better for you right now."

"Nothing can be worse than being around that man," Luke said with a sharp tone as he kept his back to Annabeth.

"If you just go and check it out, " Annabeth started but was cut off as Luke dropped the plate he was washing in the sink. He gripped the counter top tightly and his knuckles turned an intense white color.

"Annabeth, please," Luke said softly as he bowed his head. "I cannot work for him, not after how he treated my mom and I." Annabeth didn't say another word as she slowly got up and stood next to his side. She took his face in her hands and looked up to see a pair of soft and sad eyes looking down as he was lost in his own thoughts. She stood on her toes to place a kiss on his lips and she felt his arm on her back, pulling her closer to him. After a few moments they separated and Annabeth looked up to see a small smile on his face.

"I'm sorry," Annabeth said softly, "I just want you to be happy." Luke's smile grew as he kissed the top of Annabeth's head.

"If I have you in my life, I'm the happiest man in the world," Luke told her before placing another kiss on her lips. Annabeth glanced at the clock on the oven and sighed as she saw that it was time for her to leave.

"I have to go," she said with a groan as she rested her head on Luke's chest. "When are you getting off work tonight?"

"Late," Luke said as she started to gather her things. "I'll call you later tonight," he said with a hopeful tone.

"I'll answer," Annabeth said with a smile as she walked over to him and gave him one last kiss, "I love you."

"I love you too," Luke said as he walked her to the door and she closed it behind her. Annabeth walked towards the elevator and waited for it to arrive. A few minutes later she was walking out of the elevator and out into the parking garage towards her car. Thankfully the commute to Half Blood University wasn't far from Luke's apartment so the drive was fairly straightforward. She found an open parking spot next to the building where her class was in and parked her car. The campus was booming as students were walking through the plaza getting to their classes. Annabeth laughed to herself as she easily spotted this year's freshmen who were struggling to find the right building.

She climbed the steps of her building and walked down the large hallway until she found the right classroom. As Annabeth walked into the room she examined the room and the few students that were already seated. The room was filled with two person desks all faced in the direction of one very large projection screen.

"Ah Ms. Chase," a voice said from the corner of the room, "Always lovely to see step into one of my classes." Annabeth turned and smiled when she saw the familiar face of Mr. Brunner in his wheelchair with a kind smile on his face.

"It's good to see you as well Mr. Brunner," Annabeth said back as she took a seat at the front of the class across from the door.

"Not that I am complaining, but what are you doing in this class," Mr. Brunner asked. "This is an intro level course meant for freshmen is it not?"

"My advisor managed to overlook this for the past three years," Annabeth said in a frustrated tone. She didn't understand how it happened but she got an email over the summer updating her about the issue. Thankfully, she was able to squeeze this class into her already busy schedule and it helps that Mr. Brunner is teaching the course.

"Well it is good to have you with us," Mr. Brunner said, "It's even better to know that I have someone reliable to call on." Annabeth let out a short chuckle as she pulled out a notebook and her laptop out of her backpack. She continued to organize herself as the minutes passed and more students walked through the door and took their seats. Mr. Brunner glanced at his wrist watch and cleared his throat as the last few students arrived, thankfully leaving Annabeth to have a seat to herself. "Welcome everyone," Mr. Brunner greeted as he rolled to the front of the class.

"I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer, but now it is once again time for another year of learning." As Mr. Brunner was about to continue with his introduction to the course, a loud noise could be heard from outside the classroom and a few seconds later a man stood in the doorway. Everyone turned towards the door and the man stood there with a sheepish grin on his face. "Mr. Jackson," Mr. Brunner said slowly, "I was wondering if you were going to be joining us this morning." Percy Jackson gave a short nod as he slowly walked into the classroom and he rubbed the back of his neck.

Annabeth was surprised to see that Percy was also taking this course as he was also a senior this year and should be done with all of his intro level courses. Although they were in the same year and they shared similar friends, the two actually had very little interactions together. They met after Annabeth's friend Jason Grace introduced her to his sister Thalia and they were both Percy's cousins. Thalia, Percy, and their friends came from a school in New York while Annabeth, Jason, and a few other friends went to school in California which is where Half Blood University is located. This chain of interaction is also where Annabeth met Luke and thus began her crush on him. It wasn't until a whole year later after her babbling and making a fool out of herself that he asked her out.

Annabeth could always tell that Percy didn't like Luke but she never got any answers out of either of them. Anytime she asked Luke about their relationship, Luke always waved it off saying that Percy was jealous of him or something like that. She never got a chance to ask Percy because they don't see each other that much and after a certain amount of time she just gave up trying to solve their childish feud.

"Sorry about that Mr. Brunner," Percy apologized, "Swim practice went a little bit later than expected."

"I'll give you a one time exception," Mr. Brunner said sternly, "Please take a seat." As Annabeth scanned across the room she realized that every seat had been filled in the classroom. Every seat, except the one that was right next to her. Her and Percy seemed to come to the same realization at the same moment as their eyes locked and he slowly walked across the room and took his seat. Mr. Brunner resumed his lecture as he began to explain the course and what the semester will hold for them. To Annabeth it seemed like a very straight forward history course.

Mr. Brunner always enjoyed Greek Mythology and this course was no different as it seemed to cover the gods and their histories. Much to the several students disliking, Mr. Brunner began the first chapter right after he finished going through the syllabus. As he pulled up his first powerpoint Annabeth felt a nudge in her arm and she glanced over to see Percy looking at her.

"What," Annabeth asked in a hushed tone so she wouldn't disturb the ongoing lecture.

"Mind if I borrow a pen," Percy asked and Annabeth looked over to see that he had a notebook in front of him. "I forgot my laptop this morning," he explained and Annabeth rolled her eyes as she dug into her bag and pulled out a pen for him.

"You better not run off with this," Annabeth told him with a stern look on her face.

"Yes ma'am," Percy said with a mock salute and Annabeth rolled her eyes as the rest of the class continued without any further disruptions.

"Well, I think that is about the end of our time together," Mr. Brunner said as he looked at his watch. "But before you go I want to make an announcement." Everyone in the room slowly packed their things but remained seated as Mr. Brunner made his way behind the computer at his desk. "Now I don't intend for this class to just be boring lectures the entire time so I want to try and change things up for a chance. This semester we will be doing a lot of partner projects over various topics." Annabeth groaned in her head as she realized she is going to be paired with a random freshman and will have to do a majority of the work.

"Now I notice you are already looking to who you assume your partner will be," Mr. Brunner said. "But don't worry, I have already taken the duty of assigning your partners ahead of time." With that, the projector showed a Word document filled with names all paired together. "Now whoever you are paired with will be your partner for the rest of the semester," Mr. Brunner clarified. "There will be several partner projects over the semester and it will be worth forty percent of your final grade. So you better get along with your partner or it will be a long semester."

Annabeth scanned through the document as people started to leave the classroom after finding out who their assigned partner was. After a few seconds she finally found her name on the screen and glanced below to find out the freshman she was paired with. However, she was met with confusion as she realized she wasn't paired with a freshman. That confusion turned to annoyance as she realized who she was paired with in big black letters on the screen in front of her.

Annabeth Chase & Percy Jackson

Ayo, it's me. Hopefully you all enjoyed the first chapter of hopefully a long running work here. I have tried a few times at writing but it never really went anywhere. So I am trying something different and I have a rough "script" or at least a plan for ideas. It all seems pretty good, at least in my head, and it gives a sense of direction which is something I struggle with quite a bit. Anyways, if you enjoyed this you should stick around and see how it develops. Other than that, if you have any thoughts, comments, and/or questions please leave them as it's always nice to see the feedback and interaction. Thank you!
