"I don't know what you think is so funny," Spencer gritted his teeth while JJ giggled next to him.
"Oh, come on. I heard all about it from Hotch. You know he doesn't make jokes or tease, but I can read between the lines. You and Morgan lost it."
"How do you know? Were you there?" Morgan put in from his seat.
"I also talked to Garcia. You guys were completely freaked," JJ continued. "Not that I blame you. Getting trapped in an elevator is my worst nightmare."
"So why are you laughing," Spencer demanded.
JJ shrugged. "It's like slowing down to stare at a car accident. You know you shouldn't look, but you're so happy it's not you. It's human nature."
"What does that say about us," Emily observed.
"She's right," Spencer agreed. "Humans are – easily entertained."
"There's another word for it: sick and twisted," Emily observed as the pilot came on to tell them they were starting their descent into DC.
"Those are two words," Spencer pointed out, and Emily rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, back to you screaming for Hotch when the elevator stopped," JJ changed the topic.
"It's nothing," Morgan said. "We're fine, and well, considering our case…"
"We weren't scared to death," Spencer said. "And we didn't contribute to the elevator accident statistics for the year, so I am fine."
"Sure," JJ added. "Methinks you do protest too much."
"The line is "Methinks the lady doth protest too much," Spencer clarified.
Morgan and JJ smirked at Spencer while Emily shook her head. "Alright, so I changed it to fit. Still true."
"Watch it, JJ. You might irritate my man and then be in trouble at home."
JJ narrowed her eyes at Morgan. "We don't live together, jerk."
"Hey, stand down, just kidding," Morgan complained.
"Well, it's not funny," JJ said and picked up her cup. "I need more coffee."
"What was that all about," Morgan asked Spencer.
"Why are you asking me?" Spencer squeaked as he reached for his messenger bag.
"Because she's your woman."
Spencer gave Morgan a look that made the older man raise his eyebrows. "What?"
"She's not my woman, Morgan. We don't have that kind of relationship."
Morgan put aside his book and sighed. "Can't anyone on this plane take a joke?"
Spencer didn't answer him because JJ had returned. She sat and clasped Spencer's hand. "I'm tired."
"Me too. "
"Nice job," Emily hissed to Morgan.
"I – "
"Just don't," she warned, and Morgan shook his head. He concentrated on getting his stuff together for when they landed.

"You okay," Spencer asked JJ when he joined her on her sofa three hours later.
JJ put her head on his shoulder and sighed. "I'm fine. Sorry, I overreacted on the jet with Morgan. I should be used to him by now." She began to stroke Spencer's arm as he hugged her tight.
"I don't blame you."
They were quiet for several minutes, and then JJ moved to look up at Spencer. "Spence."
"Hm."
"Do you think we should move in together? We've been dating for two years."
"No."
JJ's eyebrows lifted. "You didn't even think about it. Why?"
Spencer took her face in his hands and met her eyes. "I know many couples decide to live together, and maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I don't think it's a good idea."
"I don't know why –"
"JJ, I don't want to live with you unless we get married. I want it to be legal and a total commitment. I want you to be me emergency contact and have a say it something - happens Do you understand?"
JJ's eyes widened. "Are you proposing, Spence, because I am not –"
"Ready, I know, and neither am I. I want more time to get to know you."
"Three years isn't enough," JJ teased.
"I don't count the years I knew you before we decided to date," Spencer admitted. "I barely knew anything about you other than you were beautiful and scary."
JJ's eyes narrowed dangerously. "What does that mean," she hissed.
"You know what I mean. You always say a girl needs her mystery."
JJ frowned, and then she smirked. "That's true."
"Are you angry," Spencer asked.
"I was, but I understand what you mean, Spence."
"Good, because I love you, and I don't want to ruin what we have by moving in together before the time is right."
JJ kissed him and curled into his arms. "So, what will we do to get Morgan back?"
Spencer laughed and then frowned. "I don't know, but we can think of something together."
"That's why I love you, Spence. You have a genuinely devious mind when adequately motivated."
Spencer met her mischievous blue eyes and grinned. "I can think of something else that motivates me."
JJ slapped his knee. "Let go of me, you sex maniac." She pulled out of his arms and stood.
"Come on, let's go to bed."
Spencer smirked, and JJ rolled her eyes. "To sleep."
"Killjoy," Spencer teased.
"No, just exhausted, but keep my place for later."
"You know I will!"
