Disclaimer: Pokémon is owned by the Nintendo, Hakunon/Fate is owned by the all-powerful Mushroom(Nasu), and all that stuff.
Hakuno's body sunk into the extremely plush chair, she was utterly confused as she now saw two Chanseys, not counting the one that went back outside to help Nurse Joy. Hakuno took a closer look and for the first time realized that there had always been multiple Chanseys.
The very first one that came with Nurse Joy on her first night was slightly slimmer, the one that helped her when she was doing the paperwork's ears were slightly longer, all of them had tiny differences that you would overlook unless you were looking for them.
She honestly didn't know what to do with this information, to Nurse Joy and the others it is most certainly common knowledge, but she was honestly surprised that all the Chanseys treated her the same gentle way. Hakuno felt a slight blush creep onto her cheeks as she realized she apologized to the wrong Chansey for crying and sleeping on it those few days ago.
Hakuno placed her face into her hands, She had almost told that Ledyba to fight to the death, she didn't have to worry about fighting to survive, it was training, not to survive. Next time she has to order a Pokémon … She has to try her best to stay calm. She wasn't in the digital world where one bad move led to her being erased, at least until she goes into the wilds only then would she have to think of facing her death once more.
She mentally crossed off exploring off-route until she had a strong enough team… and that's another thing, she wouldn't be alone with her Rose, Trainers had teams. While she could only have two that were nowhere near the strength of Nero, three brains were better than her one.
She pulled out the two small Apricorn balls, one mostly green with four orange marks, and the other black and blue with a crescent moon on the top, she expanded and retracted the ball. The Slowpoke were out they didn't want to leave their nests, from her research most bugs don't live long lives, so they are out as well, Magikarp was not a suitable Starter their evolution was too wild and chaotic, and getting them to the point of 'evolution' was nearly impossible without a dedicated team… That leaves the 'City' Pokémon …
"Chansey~" One of the Pink Pokémon sang as she grabbed Hakuno's arm, "Chan, Chan See."
"Time to head back?" The Pokémon nodded and led her back, stepping back outside the battlefields were littered with small cracks and a lot of webbing. Most of the other kids were covered in dust and all but Chansey were now in their balls, with conflicted expressions.
Other than Maizie, she seemed much more at ease. She flashed a peace sign and a confidant smile as Chansey led her to stand by the younger girl. "Thank you for joining us Hakuno." Nurse Joy's smile was a lot softer than she expected.
"Now that everyone is here I will tell you the results of your first test Yoko, Kaori I regret to inform you you have failed." The Green and Crimson haired girls looked in shock, Rie looked at Nurse Joy as if she had grown another head.
Hakuno blinked in surprise, she expected the ones who had lived here their entire life to have passed with flying colors. "That isn't fair!" The crimson-haired girl glanced at Maizie, "There is no way that Slowpoke addict could pass if I didn't!"
Slowpoke Addict? What a strange insult.
Nurse Joy's smile became predatory, "I don't believe I heard you correctly, are you implying you did better? Your score of 40 on the written test alone would have caused you to fail, and for the extra credit portion, the battle in which you failed miserably, you scored a measly five points due to not listening and coming up with a plan with your partner."
"That darn Pineco wasn't listening! It refused to obey! This was rigged!"
"Ms. Yoko, everyone's Pokémon were given out randomly, all of them were hatched in the same oothecae, and all of them are barely a month old, it is not anyone else's fault but your own." The girl was still grumbling but Joy continued, "The next two months of schooling will include a week's trip into Illex Forest alongside Gym Leader Bugsy and his Trainers, so take this time to understand where you went wrong." The two girls grumbled and started to walk off.
The girl named Rie seemed like she wanted to follow her two friends but after a momentary hesitation, she stayed.
"Now, for the rest of you, congratulations! You all have passed your tests! Maizie, Rie, Eiji and Hakuno. I am proud to have seen you four begin your journeys as Pokémon Trainers." Three more Chanseys appeared from the ground clapping alongside Nurse Joy. Minimize was a… strange move…
"Hakuno, may I speak to you for a moment?" Hakuno nodded at Nurse Joy's request, she had handed Maizie, Rie, and Eiji their trainer cards, after having their picture taken, leaving Hakuno last.
"Is it about my Provisional?"
"Yes, Provisionally you are a Trainer, now Yoko and Kaori have to take a camp because they failed, however, you have to even though you scored a Ninety-Six percent due to you not attending any classes. Have you given any thought to who you wish to visit first? Typically the camps happen the last month before the circuit begins."
Hakuno gave a light shrug, "I don't have my Starter yet… " Maybe she was having too high of expectations? Maybe she should get a Zubat or a Rattata, there had to be one in the town that would be open to traveling.
Probably.
She did have... Something of an idea though…
"Well, if you can't find someone in the next day or two, maybe you should set up a request, you should be able to access the money the league sent you." She nodded, she would have to check how much it was, and how long she could live off of it.
"And I wanted to ask… are you ok?" Hakuno paused at the question, was she ok? Was getting in a Pokémon Battle going to make her like that every time? Nurse Joy was a doctor…
"What… would be the best way never have that happen again?"
She gave a small sad smile, "The best way would be to never get in that situation… except, Pokémon battles rule this world; treaties signed, trade deals, sponsorships, all of that is from Pokémon Battling. The only advice I can give that might help, at least for now, would be the more you come into contact with the Pokémon Battles in a controlled environment, the higher the chance you might be able to differentiate between life and death battles. If you do any practice battles, do them here at the Center, I can have a Chansey chaperone you."
Hakuno gave a small nod, as it was just as she suspected. This world was ruled by the same situation as the Holy Grail War, except absolute freedom, and a chance to live without killing. She wanted to be able to live without fear, she was weak even the weakest of Pokémon Could potentially kill her, so she would need help, even if she only ever had one or two Pokémon it would be beneficial…
But first, "Can I use the computer now?"
Nurse Joy gave a tired nod, "First picture, then computer…"

Inquiry: AI personality request?
Hakuno blinked at the request before sliding it away to deal with later, as soon as she put her 'Trainer ID' into the computer and placed the Portable Terminal it shot out a cable to connect itself to the now active computer.
The device glitched and transformed into a pure baby blue rectangular crystal before part of it branched out forming a jagged point on one end while a a lightning bolt shape of blue crystal jutted out on the opposite end, on the back an engraving of the Moon Cell Core formed as the device shifted back into turning to a more solid metal. It still was strikingly light blue but now it slimmed down enough to look similar to a phone and not a tablet.
She was mildly concerned about the attempted data breach, she doubted even the 'Artificial' Pokémon Porygon could hack into the device without a long complicated process and with a small army of them.
The Lunar Seraph was leagues above any living life form.
Perhaps the Gods of this world would be able to contend, Celebi was able to slide her into existence away from the Moon Cell's clutches after all, although she perhaps shouldn't rule out that a specifically powerful Porygon would be able to crack into the Portable Terminal. "Pokémon are vast…"
Request: Obtain and catalog living specimens or carcasses of all known Pokémon for categorization, current information is insufficient to send to Lunar Seraph.
"No."
You aren't even connected to it anymore!
Well, she wasn't expecting her normally silent Portable Terminal to now gain some level of self, perhaps it is being influenced by this world? Or perhaps it was Taigia somehow requesting more outrageous things. She never did finish that last request…
She had no goal of 'collecting' all the Pokémon in the world. Way too difficult, how would someone even ask a quasi-deity like Celebi to fight for them anyway?
Amended Request: Scan available 'Pokémon' when encountered.
That… would be much more possible. As a shard of the Moon Cell, no matter how small, the small device thirsts for knowledge… She sighed as the Portable Terminal disconnected from the computer. Pocketing the device she left the little room, idly she noticed the Trainer with the blue-gray Meowth doing a video call with someone.
Hakuno hummed as she noticed Maizie had left without her, apparently connecting to the equivalent of the World Wide Web in this world took longer than she thought, she still had to go to Ms. Naoko's home…
Hakuno gave a small wave at the nurse as she left, keeping an eye on her surroundings like normal, who knew if a random Quasi-Diety would come after the shiny thing in her pocket?
She did manage to look at how much the account the Pokémon League had set up for her while her Portable Terminal was downloading everything it did. She had no idea how much fifty thousand Pokedollars would take her, she didn't know if it was a lot or a little. It was weird how currency of all things was omitted from the tests to become a Pokémon Trainer…
This was a strange world.
She heard the growling first and felt the strange energy second. The 'Type-Energy' of Pokémon always felt weird but, this reminded her of something different. Something out of this world, something her Rose played with belief.
She glanced down the alley, and with the setting sun as light, she noticed the small pink gnome backed into a dead end, it still held Kurt's tongs but had somehow fused them with some more scrap forming a mace. The Pokémon was now flush against the brick wall as four purple Rattata and a lone black Rattata cornered them.
Hakuno wasn't sure, but not even two-week-old instincts flared to life as she took stock of what she recalled about this Pokémon. It was tiny, the mace looked like it could maybe hit one of the rats once before breaking, it was nothing like her Rose's meteoric metal.
The Pink Gnome would lose in a straight fight against those five Rattata.
And the rat Pokémon knew it, they laughed their name out at the Gnome who kept their mace between them and the rats. Hakuno noticed the tiny pool of blood beside a trash can to the Gnome's left for the first time.
This… was oddly familiar…
She was reminded of her first moment of life, a pool of vast digital blue and a circular battlefield against a humanoid doll. The pain, the choice, the burning hope as Nero swung her sword drenched with flames conjured from her heart and reached out a hand towards her with a smile that caused her damaged heart to flutter.
She… had no Pokémon of her own to call out to help, no weapon, no Magecraft. Against Pokémon, she would be helpless against their teeth and claws…
But…
Welp, that was a royal fuck up. She felt the stone beneath her feet, a single side glance at the wall she was up against told her she wasn't getting out of this mess easily, they had cornered her in the part of town she abhorred to visit. That brood was far too close for her liking.
"You knew this was our turf!"
"Yeah! Little Fae invades our home!"
On and on those annoying Rattata spoke, her back twinged in pain as the open wound made contact with the cheaply made bricks, her new hammer was pathetic it was too weak, the metal too stringy and full of garbage to be fully influenced by her belief.
She would be fine against one or two of the Rattatas, more so against the black one that led them, the Fae dominated the ones that scurried in the dark. It knew that and brought out all their pack to hunt her.
So what that they outnumbered her five to one, she had two good arms and was far smarter than the skittering just had to plan this out right. She needs a good distraction… Maybe the Trash Can?
"Come on little Fae, you've been messin' up our territory for far too many Moons now, you know you gotta pay the fee." The dark-skinned Rattata huffed, "Tell ya what, you keep makin' those little trinkets for the boss to gnaw on until ya croak and we won't flay you alive."
She huffed at that idea, "As if losers. I plan to get out of this pathetic excuse for a town, I ain't staying a small Magikarp forever like your gang." She ain't going to stay as a little Tinkatink forever, she wants to see the world or die trying. Besides, her hammers might be scrap but they are far too good for these pests.
Her eyes narrowed as she faintly saw a silhouette at the entrance. The Rattata hadn't noticed the being, but it was far larger than any of them, even their Boss isn't as big as the shadow being cast!
Did they have more members than what she knew? She thought their gang only had seven members, their leader and brood mother wouldn't dare leave their den unless something important happened, so… who was it? It was far too large for a dim-witted Slowpoke, did they befriend a random Heracross? Or perhaps a Pinser? Either of them would spell the end for her. She doubted the humans would allow one of them to wander into their 'city' without being captured though…
The lead Rattata sniffed, a slight turn of their head "Wha?" A stone was thrown and smacked into the lead Rattata sending him face down towards the brick wall.
She smirked.
Well, an enemy of my enemy…
She… really shouldn't have done that.
The Dark-grey Rattata was down temporarily, The more numerous Purple Rattata slowly swerved their heads to look at her. The little Gnome didn't let the opportunity go to waste though.
With a slam, causing the Gnome's hammer to shatter, the Trash Can toppled onto the Rat Pokémon, the Purple Mice seemed momentarily stuck underneath the can as the Gnome bounded over the metal can using all of its weight to smash the can onto the rats, and the shattered remnants of its hammer were discarded as the Gnome as it bounded forward and… jumped on Hakuno's shoulders.
Hakuno froze.
"TINKATINK!" The Gnome-Tinkatink grabbed her attention with a shout and used one hand to grab onto Hakuno's head while the other pointed forward with its three stubby fingers, Hakuno could guess what it was asking for and started to run.
In less time than it took for her to run a block, she could hear the scampering footfalls of their pursuers.
This was probably among the stupidest things she's ever done!
They were only a few minutes away from Ms. Naoko's home, but, their pursuers would catch them in less than a minute, Hakuno had stamina but not speed. Certainly not enough to outrun a Pokémon known for being fast.
"Um… Tinkatink?" The Gnome turned slightly to face her, "I'm not fast enough to outrun them…"
The Gnome huffed."Tink, Tinka tink."
"That… Pink mist." Hakuno shuffled around a sleeping Slowpoke, "Can you-" Hakuno felt her instincts flare as she quickly ducked, one hand holding down the Gnome as she went down, the familiar form of the lead Rattata dashed from the top of the nearby wall with incredible speed and crashed into the ground, teeth biting into the gravel road.
It was fast… but not anywhere near even the slowest of Servants.
"Tinkatink, use your Pink Mist, I won't let you fall!" Hakuno grabbed the Gnome, mindful of its back injury, and held the small Gnome in front of her with one hand, the Rat had a single bloodshot eye as a small welt kept the other closed. The other four Rattata were still gaining on them, they had scant few moments to evade their leader.
This was incredibly stupid! She should've walked away!
If she did that, how would she even look her Rose in the eyes ever again?
The Gnome gave her a hesitant nod and waved both of their hands causing an eruption of pink wind to blow out and forced the Rattata to jump back, giving them room to run.
Only a bit further!
"TINK A TINK!" The small Gnome continuously released the Pink Mist from its stubby hands, forcing the Rats to detour slightly.
The Rats screamed in annoyance. Another burst of white-energy enhanced speed let it appear in front of her and Hakuno used her free hand to put the Portable Terminal in the way of the Rat's teeth.
If the device could take a bolt from Robin Hood it could take the teeth of an overgrown Rat. Tinkatink waved its hands again, another burst of pink air pushed against the dark grey rat, its teeth failing to find purchase against the tiny fragment of the Moon Cell.
"Tink! Tinka Tinka Tink!" The Gnome was laughing, the Rat huffed as it stood up it snapped its teeth and shouted its name.
It was answered by its friends that finally had caught up.
That shut up the Tinkatink real quick. The two Rats directly behind them were injured slightly due to the pink mist, one Rat on each side and the lead Rattata shaking off dust from its darkened fur.
Hakuno's heart raced, and the lead Rattata took another step forward and rose to stand on its back to legs, "Rat, Tatata." The Rat Pokémon pointed at the Tinkatink and then at the ground. She felt the Tinkatink gulp slightly as it turned its head towards her. "Rat, Tata ta." One of its feet tapped on the ground, was it expecting her to do something?
It seemed irritated, she felt the Tinkatink clutch tighter in her arm after it spoke… Did… it want her to leave Tinkatink to them?
How would Nero even look at her if she abandoned this little one to their fate?
How can they escape from this… Hakuno squeezed a bit on the Tinkatink trying to reassure the small Pokémon, barely noticing the slight twinge of blood on her uniform. The Rat seemed to take her silence with annoyance.
"Tinkatink, any other moves you got?" Hakuno's voice was barely above a whisper, and Tinkatink barely nodded once in the positive and then once in the negative. She didn't have a moment to figure out what that meant as the Rats heard her and pounced.
She refuses to die to some overgrown Rats!
"Biggest Wind you got beneath us!" Tinkatink huffed and didn't hesitate as the biggest glitter bomb blew up the wind screeched as it became a tiny twister the top barely above Hakuno's head. They were in the eye of the gust and Tinkatink looked so exhausted its body was limp in Hakuno's arms only their fingers still moving.
"Ti…tink…" Hakuno ran out of the wind, she felt the prickle of fairy-infused wind irritate her skin as she stayed low. The lead Rattata was smart and bit down into her shoulder its teeth barely puncturing through her Mystic Code. She clenched her teeth as she shifted the weight of Tinkatink to one arm and grabbed the Rattata with the other tossing the Pokémon back as far as she could, its claws nicked her arm in retaliation but she endured as she ran.
The Pink Wind had blinded the regular Rattata, and Hakuno could see the Old Weaver's home! Bobbin Jr hissed out a greeting as she got close and then hissed in anger noticing their pursuers as dozens of Spinarack erupted from the front door as it slammed open. Ms. Naoko glared at the small Rattata on the ground.
"They given ya trouble kiddo?" Hakuno gave a small nod the Spiders chirped in anger and a hungry look came into their eyes as they hunted.
It barely lasted a minute before all five Rattata were tied up in silk cocoons.
The Ariados didn't even have to leave their spot on the couch, it lazily waved one of its arms at Hakuno as she entered the home. Tinkatink stubbornly stayed awake as Hakuno took a seat beside the large spider.
She could feel the apprehension from the small Gnome, being close to an evolved Pokémon had to be intimidating for the small thing.
"Ari, dos." That seemingly calmed the Gnome as she rested her wounded back on Hakuno's shirt, the bleeding seemed to have stopped, but some red blood had seeped into the brown uniform.
Naoko whistled, and one Spider came from another room dragging a sack, "Give the little one a Sitrus, should give it a bit of pep." Hakuno searched through the cocoon and once finding the berry offered it to the small Gnome. "Now, what the fuck happened."
It was adorable as it nibbled on the berry, its arms too tired to hold it up as Hakuno held it in front of their mouth. Hakuno sighed as she leaned back into the old couch.
At least they are safe…
Author's Note: Well! A little fight! Kind of! More of a chase. And as people guessed, Tinkatink was the Pokémon that kept botherin' Kurt.
What was trying to hack into the Portable Terminal? Why would something even bother? What Personality will the Portable Terminal have? And what other moves does the little Gnome know?
Well, some answers will come, some won't, some will be basic. And some will be very dull. Some might be considered fun!
I need to do research on Poke-puns…
Also, to the Guest Reviewer(s) that ask for Shriou, I don't intend to include him or write a fanfic about him.
Anyways! Cya Next time~
