Mission Log 1.

Bloody hell. The first day of the year already got fucked up. I guess that's what happens when you're out of the radar and become a Shadow Operator.

My real name? Well that.. is now classified. Let me tell you what happened before I explain what's going on.

September 25th, 2044...

Operation Insight.

I was that time, a soldier, just like everyone else who enlisted in the army. Nothing special. But this Operation was. Command didn't tell us what we were getting into. My squad, part of the 108th battalion were ordered to sneak into a overrun town, save hostages and get out. We did what we were told, but something was strange. No enemy in sight. Not a single soul out there. We figured that the objective was more important, so we went for the hostages but Bloody hell...

We found bodies of dead people. Guts ripped out, limbs everywhere even faces ripped onto the walls... it was damn gory. We contacted Command, which to our surprise, they sounded like they knew what was going on. They told us to abort mission, but from what I could tell, it was too late. Something was out there, ready to strike.

Gunshots fired, blood everywhere, whatever the hell that thing was, it wasn't just string, it was intelligent. My whole squad, including the leader, was wiped out.

Except me.

I knew just firing wouldn't finish it, so I thought of a plan to make myself look like an idiot, and after that, I stabbed the shit out of that monster. *God damn, that thing ain't human* , I thought.

Right after that, I sensed something else. There were more. *fuck* .

Then after that, everything went pitch black.

I woke up, finding myself in a unfamiliar facility. I had no idea what the fuck was going on until a man in a suit walked into the room. I couldn't tell who he was due to the mask and specs he was wearing.

"[REDACTED, am I right?"

He knew my name, my details, and what happened on that night. He had also told me I was out for 2 months. I was the only survivor that day.

This world has some secrets not all of us know, and it's seems some people don't want us to know

So that day, I was "recreated" a new identity by AERO.

Now back on the present.

My squad was quite an interesting bunch, I must say. Each one of them also had a story about how they came to be here. Not very surprising.

The first one I was introduced to was Sparks, captain. Special Forces, former rank lieutenant, later promoted to captain, until his squad had and incident with a blurker (mission log 4), only he survived. For all I know, he's extremely skilled and resourceful, perfect leader.

Next up was Sergeant Frost, SAS Sniper demolitions, weapons expert. They call him Frost because he's cold when it comes to dealing with getting rid of his enemies, or should I say "dispose". The only reason why he's here is because he found out about the strange entities and decided to join. Typical huh?

Sergeant Zero is pretty interesting: he was never part of any military. He was part of the RLF (Ronograd Liberation Front), a group that opposed military control and seeked liberation. Zero was forced to join this cause. This this end however, due to an attack by the Nova Dominion (Mission Log 9) and only he survived this encounter. Who knew he would want to join us after not wanting any involvement with liberation.

Private Lezenda is the best melee expert we found, best of the best. He knows all the tricks from a pocket knife to a butterfly knife. Hell he took down a hound with just a key through the damn mutt's brain.

Private Nix, probably the most average out of all of us, but he definitely knows how to get the job done. He overcame his fear of ghosts when he found a way to take down one 7 years back with a torch. Ghosts can be touched after all huh?

Private Xeno is the most wild one, always wanting to go crazy with any arsenal he can find. He survived a zomboid horde with his trusty PKM "cuhh" lmg which he still uses. Talk about fire power.

Lastly, well...

Here I am. Lieutenant Raider.

As that, we commenced our first mission as a team.

Shadow Operators.

Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.

Intel says that there had been signs of huge anomaly down the area. Scaring the shit out of the locals. Our objective? Get in, recapture or terminate, get out.

Unfortunately, things couldn't have gotten harder for us. When we arrived at about 0400 hours, there already had been company. Frost immediately recognised them. He claims them to be the Dauntless PMC, deadly faction. God damn factions have been becoming more common nowadays.

From what I remember, Dauntless PMC only accepts the best they have. *The best.* "This is gonna get bloody difficult." The captain said.

We had to skydive from there, since there was a high chance of getting shot down. Didn't realise Lezenda hated skydiving.

Our search began at 0415 hours, taking us a full hour to find something. Zero had found a camp, or *what was left of it.*

Dead bodies, not just locals but surprisingly a few men of the Vanguard division of the Dauntless PMC. Whatever that thing was, it was intelligent. Sparks knew that as well as I, and immediately ordered the whole squad to move out.

BLAM*

Gunshots. *Well that can't be right, I thought. We slowly approached the area, making sure we didn't fall into any trap. That was when we saw *it*.

The anomaly was huge, size of a Gorrila, hands filled with human blood. *God damn that stinks.* Beside him were heaps of dead men, probably from Dauntless.

"How the hell are we going to capture or kill that thing?" Nix had asked. Xeno immediately replied that we should "RAIN LIKE HELLFIRE." We didn't think that would work, until the Valkyrie division tried to shoot that damned thing down. The anomaly screamed in a lot of pain. It was very effective, but they were immediately destroyed after that. Although not before it was wounded. *Who the fuck would know that would work*.

Sparks immediately thought of a plan. We would get the Dauntless PMC to damage that monkey, and we would finish it ourselves.
