It was quite a success with Lincoln out in the field with his big sister, fighting crime and helping her stop some bad guys. Both siblings were enjoying some ice cream at Auntie Pam's as a victory treat. Lori had chocolate while Lincoln had mint, and they loved every taste of this.
"You handled yourself well, little bro- I mean, Laser Boy." Lori patted him on the back with affection.
"Thanks Lo- I mean, Volcano Girl." Lincoln looked touched as he gave another lick in his ice cream. "Nothing like good ole teamwork."
"Literally took the words from my mouth." Lori took another lick of hers. "What's even better is that we're literally getting ice cream here for free now!" She had an excited look on her face
Having an equal amount of excitement on his face, Lincoln said: "I know! It's awesome!" Both of them finished their ice cream and Lincoln smacked his lips after he was done.
"Ugh! Laser Boy." Lori groaned. "Where are your manners?"
"Oh, sorry Volcano Girl." Lincoln looked guilty now. "I forgot that you guys don't like it when I do that. Maybe except for Lana for obvious reasons."
Lori let out a chortle. "Hehehe. Yeah, literally wouldn't surprise me. She literally burps all the time."
laughing and laughing at that response, Lincoln stopped and wondered: "did I do that when I was a baby? Burp all the time?"
"Oh yes. And you did the lip smacking thing with your fingers like you just did all the time."
Lincoln looked embarrassed and he rubbed the back of his head with his right hand.
"No it's ok. It's nothing to worry about. You were just a baby when you were doing it."
"But I did it just now." Lincoln shied away. "Some things never change."
"True." Lori admitted. "But you do it way less frequently now."
"Is it... a bad habit?" Lincoln wondered
"No, no, don't take it that way, Laser Boy. Nobody's perfect, not even Lola. Don't tell her I said that, though."
"Yeah. That Lola. Thinking she's better than everyone else, being prim and perfect."
His eldest sister began laughing. "Well at least she is not Lynn. Lola doesn't rough house and fart in other people's faces,"
"Pfft! Yeah. Lola would view that as unladylike for her taste. She has bad habits. Remember her snoring three months ago?"
Lori let out a small laugh. "I literally remember that like it was yesterday. And you called Lynn Snorezilla? Lola is even worse. Besides, everyone had a bad habit somehow. Whether it's picking their nose, biting their nails, cussing excessively, you name it."
"You know, Lo- Volcano Girl." Said the white-haired boy, "you gotta be careful when you say literally. It's kinda..."
"Kinda what?"
"Your signature catchphrase. Like how Leni says 'O M Gosh!' Or 'Totally!' A lot of times. And you want to keep your real identity a secret from everyone else, right?"
"You're right. I need to be more careful with that. Come on, let's go home." She held out her right hand for her brother. "Grab on."
"Sure thing. But just try not to go too faaaaaaaaast!!!" He was cut off when Lori was zooming to the house by levitating and flying. Her flying by was like a meteor going sideways or a shooting star at ground level.
For Lincoln, it was riding a rollercoaster at a theme park, and he was having the time of his life. His hair was already messy from the momentum of being hauled back home like this, and he felt dizzy from the motion he endeavored. But of course, he'll live.
"So Lincoln, I wanna show you something."
"Can you please, wait, Lori?" Lincoln took off his face mask, "let me get out of my outfit and take a shower." He smelled his left armpit. "Whoo! All that crime fighting made me smell like Lynn's gym socks."
Lori laughed. "I don't know if I'd literally- I mean, if I would really go that far. We both know that her socks smell worse than any bad smell that can be thrown at us."
So Lincoln put his laser blaster under his bed and got in the shower to clean off the sweat from taking care of the bad guys earlier. Fighting crime can be quite the exercise.
At last, when he was done, Lincoln went downstairs to see what Lori wanted to show him."
It was an old scrapbook of memories that the kids had growing up over the years. She was looking for a specific page or picture. "Ah! Here it is." Lori said. This photo was her when she was a young child, probably six or seven years old, and next to her was a baby Lincoln in his high chair. "Remember this?"
"I think I do." Lincoln tried so hard. "But I was a little baby around that time."
"Oh that's ok, little bro." Lori reassured him. "You were still just a baby. "But since I was around seven, I remembered everything when you were just one year old. The time you ate your birthday cake in a messy way, the chocolate in your face, then you found all the birthday presents in the closet when mom and dad weren't looking. And I remember your face when they caught you."
"That I think I do remember." Lincoln pointed. "I actually thought they were going to hit me when they found me in the closet."
"What? Come on. Why would they even do that?" Lori scoffed.
"Because presents are supposed to be a surprise, and I spoiled it by myself."
"You were just a baby when that happened. You didn't know any better." Lori nodded her head. "No one would ever hit a baby, that is just literally ridiculous."
The two siblings looked at the times they did good things over the years as siblings and growing up, and they were enjoying this trip down memory lane."
