Hey guys! I'm alive!
Sorry for the wait, I hope you guys are doing well.
So I didn't quite have the time to say this but thank you SSJ golden for all the fanart, your support means a lot to me, I hope that you, and everyone else are enjoying this story while waiting for the actual story.
Atlas Timeline 2
The turned on and we see Fu smiling.
"Heya folks, whoop, so sorry for the long wait, been busy exploring new timelines that just opened up." He lifted up his tablet. "But don't worry, let's just get the show on the road, here are the votes."
A: 4
B: 3 (One through PM)
C: 6
D: 3
"Alright so, Option C takes the win what if Kron's pod had landed in Atlas." He pulled up a scroll. "Let's see what this version of Kron has in store, let's hope Ironwood knows what he's doing."
He crossed his fingers and watched the screen light up showing the title of this timeline.
Kron looked out the window of his new room and saw that he was inside what looked like a military base, it resembled a small castle with technology all over it.
Level 3 technology at least which is impressive, he thought these people might have only traveled to their moon at best when he first arrived here.
However after a few months, he would learn that they have an energy source they refer to as 'Dust' and it was used to fuel every bit of their technology, it seemed to be useful for anything, cars, weapons, airships, and robots.
Such an odd name to refer to their energy source as Dust, who names it after dirt?
But it had one flaw it was unable to travel in space, once Dust had left the atmosphere it would cease to be useful.
So, they hadn't developed any space travel, but their technology was still somewhat impressive.
That will make conquering this planet difficult.
Along with that during his brief stay, there was one other problem he had to overcome.
The door to his room opened.
He turned to see a tall man with black hair, dressed in a white coat and red tie.
James Ironwood had a brief skirmish with him, and he proved stronger than him. He along with that man with the fishing pole is his first goal to take down.
"Hello Kron" James greeted. "How is your new room?" He asked in a softer tone than usual, even though the boy had proven violent he was still a child in his eyes and desired to give him what he needed, while at the same time learning as much as he could about him.
The room was quite spacious and nice, there was a bookshelf filled with books that he no doubt enjoyed reading, Ironwood could tell that he spent much of his time reading these books and he also noticed that the toybox he had gotten for him with plenty of toys fit for his age remained untouched, which he thought was quite unusual, given his limited experience with children.
"It's good," Kron replied honestly. "I like it but when can we start training?"
Very unusual indeed, this boy's only interests seemed to be learning history, training, eating, and fighting.
"Soon" He replied and knelt to his level. "But I need to ask you something first."
Kron raised an eyebrow but waited as the general reached into his coat pocket.
The young general pulled out a scouter.
"What is this?"
That made the Saiyan panic a bit but he kept a stoic face, he wondered where his scouter had gone. Looks like he'll need to be a bit honest about it.
"My mom called it a scouter." He said honestly, though spoke as if he didn't know himself. "It's supposed to read how strong my opponent is by showing their power level."
He mentally chastised himself for saying that much, he wasn't used to this situation and ended up being too honest about it.
"Power level?" Ironwood asked and placed the scouter on his head. He then pressed the red button on the side.
Kron was nervous as the device activated and exposed one thing.
"So, these symbols," He said to him. "Is this your people's language?"
The Saiyan realized that this was a planet that coddled their young. He hated it, but if he wanted to survive, he had to ensure they wouldn't find out the scouter's secrets anytime soon. If they find out about alien life, who knows what they will do to him?
"I think so, but I can't read it." He lied in an embarrassed tone but embarrassed that he had to resort to this to survive. "I stole it from my mother, every warrior has one and learns how to read the symbols." He can practically feel the pity radiating off this man, he kept his emotions under control, and he had to if he was going to infiltrate his military.
This was that loser with the fishing rod's fault, he can't wait to gut him!
James examined the 'scouter', the scientist was baffled by it. "Another question, why did you attack Clover when he was trying to help you?"
Kron already had an answer for that since it was close to the truth.
"He talked to me like I was weak, I wanted to let him know that I wasn't." He explained to him. It was annoyingly condescending that what he thought had a low power level reading would speak to him that way.
Ironwood was starting to truly understand how the boy ticked. He not only valued strength but how he was perceived.
That was something he could work with to guide the boy while he is under his care.
"Alright" He handed the device to him and knelt to him. "I'm going to have some people look at this 'scouter' if you don't mind."
Kron did mind, he should have destroyed it. But it's fine, the scouter's technology was beyond anything on the planet. It would take decades to figure out, longer if they couldn't decipher the language.
Besides it was broken it read that idiot's power level incorrectly.
He can spare it, hopefully, he will be strong enough to take the world before they manage to accidentally contact the PTO.
At the very least he's secured a base for himself.
Now Kron will begin his life in the Atlas military learning all he can about the defenses of this planet and how to destroy them, just as other versions had planned to do while under Raven's wing.
It will not come to the same result.
Kron would live a childhood with General Ironwood, different than Kron Prime did with Raven.
Instead of raiding villages and transports, he would spend it studying and training.
General Ironwood never had children, nor planned to have any of his own. But doing his duty observing the boy he started to feel a certain kinship with him.
He taught him how to read and discovered that he loved history, something he could work with while raising him.
He started both teaching how to read and watching historical documentaries with him, things children usually wouldn't, and ironically made it easier for him to raise him.
And on top of it he would train him in hand-to-hand combat, all of this seemed to have calmed him.
In the main timeline, Kron Prime's time with Raven was different, Raven would allow and encourage his bloodlust, as it stood with 'The Strong Live and The Weak Die. All to keep up her façade of being a survivor and allowing Kron to get more and more depraved.
Ironwood would take a different approach, when he saw him enraged, he would teach him control. To channel it to make better decisions rather than allow it to have him run wild. He knew that his sadistic side would be a problem in the future and so he taught him to tame it to not allow it to control his every action.
During training he would never cut it short, wanting to see how far he could go.
"Raise your arms, you'll be able to block better that way." Ironwood lectured.
"Right!" Kron yelled raising an arm to block an incoming punch.
But this time James grabbed the boy's arm and swung him across the training room.
When Kron landed he groaned.
"Look out for grabs too," James said.
The Saiyan groaned while grabbing his head. "Got it."
He charged forward intent on proving himself and learning as much as he could, despite being a human he wanted to prove to him that he was a warrior.
As much as he didn't like pretending loyalty to him, he was having fun.
The training, the studying it was way better than his life back home.
He didn't think that he would have so much fun during his time using the general to get stronger, not to mention when he saw him on the battlefield.
James would take Kron out to fight alongside him, to tutor him on the most effective way to fight Grimm.
Kron watched the general grab a manticore by its teeth.
"When a Manticore gets close and you have no time to use your Semblance, you need to grab it by its teeth, one hand on an upper fang, the other on a lower fang." He grunted as he explained. "Also this position will keep you out of its reach from the claws." The Manticore tried to reach for him but couldn't as he explained.
Kron was amazed watching the man able to hold his own with a beast twice his size. He truly was more than what he would expect from a general of this planet, he can hold his own even without an army.
Ironwood would slam the beast to the side, pull out his pistol, Due Process, and shoot its head. Disintegrating it, he would turn to the boy, wiping sweat off his brow.
"Of course, you should only attempt this if you have the strength necessary, it's better if you keep your distance."
Kron squeezed his knuckles and grinned. He couldn't wait to see how much stronger he would get under his tutelage.
After training was over, Ironwood and Kron were eating at a table.
"You did well on today's training, and how is your studying?"
He swallowed a large steak and nodded.
"I'm already in chapter four of the history of Atlas!" Kron bragged.
Ironwood smiled hearing that and spoke.
"Really? What was the first settlement on Solitas?"
Children older than him would say Atlas.
"Mantle, founded by settlers going North before the great war."
That's another thing this child was so young, and he managed to pick up on reading and is reading a good bit of history.
General Ironwood smiled as he ate.
"Good, after this, how you would you like to take a trip through a museum, they have a new Megoliath exhibit."
"Yes!" Kron yelled excitingly.
James chuckled at the excitement, he never thought he'd have a child adopted or otherwise, but now he was starting to somewhat enjoy it.
Kron had to catch himself a few times, he had to remind himself that he was a target. That one day he would kill him along with all of Atlas.
And the rest of the planet.
Though he had to admit he was enjoying his life here far more than on Planet Vegeta.
He's sure that these feelings will dissipate.
Four Years Later
By the age of nine, the boy's power had grown, but unlike Raven, he did not hold back his training. He saw the potential but did not fear it, he saw it as a future asset against Salem.
His strength was now stronger than Ironwood.
But he did not fear it, he developed a bond with the boy, over time he began to see him as his own son. The discipline he instilled in him seemed to finally take effect, he was much more willing to listen to him than when he first arrived.
Ironwood stepped out of an airship in front of one of the cities of Solitas.
"Clover"
His right hand man stepped out of the airship and stood beside him.
"This is the right place, general." He said to him. "But are you sure about this."
Ironwood looked at him with a straight look.
"I've monitored his strength, I believe this will be the perfect test to see how far he's come." He explained.
Clover gave an apprehensive stare, he wanted to argue, but James has never lead him wrong before ever since he was a rookie.
James turned towards the airship.
"Kron, it's time."
A small child walked out of the airship.
The nine-year-old Kron walked out of the airship in a different outfit.
He wore a white coat that reached his legs, with a black fur hoodie. He still wore his green and red Saiyan armor beneath the coat. Also black pants and white boots and walked to General Ironwood while looking at Clover still wanting a rematch against him.
Ironwood bent a knee and looked at the boy. "Are you ready?"
Kron smirked and punched into his palm. "Always ready."
The trio turned to a pack of Grimm headed their way.
Ironwood brought out his Due Process while Clover had his fishing rod ready. "Go"
Kron smiled and ran forward while the two men just observed.
Once the Saiyan was in front of the pack, he entered in a stance unique to this version of him.
His left arm raised for blocking while his right arm was held across his waist. Ironwood had taught Kron a fighting style that utilizes boxing with grappling along with good defense.
One beowolf charged him, Kron grabbed the claw with his right hand and put it aside and smashed his fist into the beast's face sending it away from him.
Multiple monsters charged forward.
Kron tilted his body and slammed a kick across one of their faces.
He then ducked beneath a swipe from another Beowolf before grabbing it by the waist, he lifted the creature up and slammed it down. He then stomped its chest crushing the monster.
Suddenly it started vanishing.
While Kron stood triumphantly another Grimm flew above Kron, ready to strike.
It was a lizard looking Grimm with wings and a spikey tail, it swooped down.
And the Saiyan was able to smell it, he backflipped as it crashed into the ground.
Kron then dashed forward to finish it.
The Teryx turned and slammed its spikey tail.
He grabbed the tail just before the spikey end and he pulled, forcing the monster on the ground.
Kron then jumped and wrapped his arms around the beast's neck, with a laugh he squeezed and crushed the monster's neck.
And the beast faded away like the rest.
The Saiyan then looked ahead to see the last of them.
It was a Grimm on four thick legs, with a large mask and two sharp tusks with ice on it's back like all Grimm in Solitas and a large trunk.
Kron faced the charging Goliath at him he could destroy it effortlessly with brute force.
But he wanted to try something.
In many timelines Kron's first Ki attack would be the Beringel Burst, named after fighting many Beringel in Anima he named his attack after his favorite Grimm.
Here though he was inspired by something, or rather someone else.
The Saiyan brought his arms and put his hands together, shaping into a gun.
"Sanctioned Shot!"
From his fingertips a thin but powerful wave of red energy.
The beam fired straight through the goliath's head, and it collided with a boulder behind before blowing up into a large red explosion.
Kron chuckled looking at his handiwork, his first technique was a success, Ironwood's tip on focusing his 'Aura' into a single point before firing really helped.
This technique was based on what he's seen Ironwood do with his dual pistols 'Due Process', putting them together to form into a cannon.
This would be his equivalent to 'Berringel Burst' that other counterparts had created. Berringel are not native to Solitas and so the technique will never be created in this timeline.
After Kron had purged the Grimm he walked towards Ironwood and Clover, seeing the look on their faces was satisfied, they were clearly impressed.
He especially valued Ironwood's opinion on how he did.
And like he was taught, several times, the Saiyan put stood tall with his arms at his sides. "All clear sir!"
General Ironwood looked around and was impressed as usual.
"You did well, you purged each Grimm quickly and efficiently."
Kron was enjoying the praise like usual, only this time even more so. This was the first time he didn't play with his food and was warned not to do so on missions and treat each battle seriously.
"However." General Ironwood crossed his arms. "How you handled that Megoliath, I told you not to yell your attack name." He instructed. "Next time do not scream your attack, it is unnecessary and will make your attacks easy to evade."
Kron would get defensive but speak in the tone of a soldier.
"I cannot do that sir!"
Ironwood was a bit surprise at that response, it was as if it really was impossible.
"Why is that?"
The Saiyan continued. "My technique takes focus and requires plenty of steps, I must yell it in order to trigger my body to accelerate those steps!" He read it in a book back on Planet Vegeta. "So, I cannot do that sir!"
General Ironwood and Cover were silent for a few seconds.
"I, can't tell if he's serious." Clover chuckled lightly much to Kron's annoyance. It sounded like something this childish was truly necessary he almost believed it.
The funny thing is there was some truth to what Kron was saying, the attack name is like a mantra that must be done in order to use the technique. Not every Ki user is required to do it, but for many it is necessary.
"I can tell that he is." Ironwood stated while sighing and looking at the boy. "In that case, try to learn how to use it without shouting it."
"Sir!" Kron lied, he will never give up shouting his attack names. There was a certain satisfaction it.
"Very well, now get on the ship."
"Sir!" Kron shouted and walked into the ship.
Clover looked at ironwood and smiled. "Looks like he's really shaping up, good I can tell you've been tired ever since you took him in."
James chuckled. "He's been a handful, but he's easy to teach thankfully, he's more like a soldier than a child." He said to him. "He's a lot calmer than when you found him, maybe, I can have him enroll in Atlas Academy."
Of course, it was wishful thinking.
They still had to figure out how his power worked, it was confirmed that whatever he's using is not Aura.
On top of that they couldn't identify it, whatever this power was must be something he can do with his body.
He tried asking him what it was but his explanation wasn't helpful. At the end of the day, he was still child so how can he expect a child to explain what it was. All he could say was that it was something his father taught him and that he wasn't that good of a teacher.
All he said was to focus his strength and let it out of the body.
If only he found where this boy came from surely, they could have provided a better explanation.
Of course, that's only if they're not hostile.
So, putting him in a huntsman school was out of the question, people would ask too many questions and it might attract Salem's attention.
He will have to continue to train him privately, perhaps he will become the strongest soldier Atlas had ever seen.
But first, he needed to do one thing.
On their way to Atlas in military headquarters where Kron was raised Ironwood looked at the holographic screen.
"It's as I thought, the boy's strength has reached heights I've never seen before." He explained. "I believe that he now contends with a Maiden in terms of power."
On the screen was man with grey hair and glasses wearing a black uniform and a green scarf. It was none other than Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy.
"I am happy to hear that." The headmaster responded. "You seem to be doing a find job with having him under your care."
James felt strange hearing that, he wasn't sure about the arrangement at first. He never had the time to find someone and start a family.
Only one person came to mind with who he would consider that with. A stern teacher with blonde hair, but she was an associate, and they cannot afford to have such a thing.
"And I hope that this boy is being raised well."
"I am doing the best I can." James responded. "He was extremely aggressive when I first met him, but I had him channel that rage into being more productive."
As he said that Ironwood smiled thinking of how far the boy had come from the rage, he had now become calmer and more calculated.
It took a lot of time, and his patience was tested plenty of times, but it was worth it.
"I trust that you remember he is a child." Ozpin stated.
"Of course, I do, something you want to say?"
Ozpin gave a worried look and explained. "This boy has an incredible power, I know that while you have good intentions, you are a man dedicated to his kingdom. I hope that you have the boys' intentions in mind and have him choose his future."
Ironwood did feel a pang of guilt hearing that. He did raise the boy with turning him into a soldier defending Atlas.
But overtime, watching him get better it made him want him to help improve him as a fighter also made him want to improve him as a person. Still there was something concerning him.
"I'm doing the best I can, but you can't expect me to try to give him a normal life, if I put him in the system I don't think any household will be able to take him in, and not to mention with this strange power, Salem would take an interest in him, what would you expect me to do?"
"I never said put him in the system." Ozpin said to him. "Just make sure he knows that you have his best interest at heart, you're not just keeping him locked away in your base, are you?"
"No" James said to him. "I've taken him with me around Atlas, I train him only because he wants it, I educate him properly as if he were in school and I ensure that he is happy and healthy."
Ozpin seemed relieved to hear that, he wasn't sure if he'd be up to the task, but it sounded like he was managing to parent the boy.
"Well it sounds like you got everything all under control." Ozpin said to him. "Though you may want to consider perhaps getting him to meet children his age."
"He has no interest in that." Ironwood stated. "He's not a normal child, his main interest is in learning combat, I doubt he wants friends, and even he did I don't know how I would do that, as I said he isn't normal."
Ozpin nodded, this was un unusual situation, it's hard to tell if this boy is a boon for their cause or a future threat.
"Just do your best, remember I'm here to assist you."
Ironwood nodded thinking about the next step.
This boy was extraordinary, but he had to remind himself he was not a weapon, or a future soldier. He was also a child he can't just train him.
He had to commit to raising him.
Ironwood's Base
Once they were home Kron was in the training room destroying Atlesian knights with ease.
The Saiyan sat on top of a pile of broken robots and looked at his hands.
Four years ago these robots would have given him trouble, he wouldn't have been able to handle that horde of Grimm on his own.
He had gotten much stronger in the years he's been here.
"Not exhausted?"
The Saiyan turned to see James with his arms behind his back and a friendly smile on his face, clearly showing how proud he was which actually felt fufling to him.
Kron felt feeling that way, Ironwood was strong back then, but now he was nothing to him. He can kill him easily, no problem, and began his assault on Atlas.
During his time, he's learned of their operations and the easiest ways to destroy them.
Even Alpha Grimm can't touch him, he has the means to do it.
"How about we have a sparring match." Ironwood asked as he pulled out his two pistols. "This time I'll be armed."
Kron was surprised, he's always fought him bare knuckled, and while he did prefer hand to hand, Ironwood was no doubt more formidable with his guns.
The Saiyan smiled and cracked his knuckles.
"Don't expect me to hold back, General."
James chuckled as he held a gun up.
"Never said you had to."
The Saiyan thought for a moment.
"One condition, use your real weapon againts me."
Ironwood wasn't surprised he wanted that, he always refrained from using it during training, on a direct hit it could kill most huntsmen in one shot.
But this boy was beyond any huntsmen. If anyone could survive it would be him.
"Let's see how you handle Due Process as they are." He explained.
In other words Kron would have to force him to use it, which was fine by him.
The two took their fighting positions, with Ironwood aiming one of his Due Process pistols at him and Kron with his guard raised.
Kron was about to attack but then something came to him.
A memory of when he was a child sparring with Ironwood, and another of how he was teaching him to read.
That made him pause. He can do it now, but something kept him from trying to do it.
Ironwood made the first move and pulled the trigger.
Kron barely registered it and backhanded against the bullet. It did hurt him since it had a dust bullet.
The general didn't relent and pulled the trigger multiple times.
With confidence the Saiyan ran forward either avoiding or blocking the shots fired at him. Before he couldn't overcome Dust bullets, now though he was strong enough to defend against them.
James knew this and watched him come close.
Kron threw a fist forward.
Which James was barely able to move out of the way, he then grabbed Kron's wrist and tossed him aside.
He then aimed one of his pistols and shot multiple times on his back.
Kron growled and rolled out of the way and rose his hand to fire a powerful red Ki blast.
Ironwood swiftly dodged and sees that the boy wasn't hurt just a bit frustrated. Way less than when he was a child and would always lash out and get sloppy when the fight wasn't going his way.
For him to win there is only one chance.
Kron flew forward and threw a kick across the general's face, his Aura showed meaning it was getting damaged.
He then kneed him in the stomach and threw a jab into his face.
Once the general was moved he rose his gun and fired a shot at the Saiyan's foot.
This made Kron look down and felt the little sting.
Then Ironwood slammed his pistol across Kron's face.
He then aimed his gun into Kron's face knowing full well he can tank a point-blank shot.
Kron then grabbed his arm before he could pull the trigger and lifted the general up and slammed him on the ground.
The Saiyan smiled knowing that it was his victory but then he saw the barrel of a gun.
James put both his pistols against each other, and they formed into what they looked like a cannon.
This was the opening he needed; a shot too far would give him plenty of room to avoid it.
Kron immediately rose his arms to block.
James pulled the trigger and unleashed a powerful wave of energy from Light Dust into his face.
Once it connected it pushed the boy back and he crashed into the wall of the training room.
Ironwood stood up and looked at the cloud of smoke. He's seen the dame he can do and what he could take. This wasn't the first time he's seen him tank an attack like that.
From the clouds Kron flew forward covered in bruises but no blood is seen from the shot that was fired.
Kron threw a punch into the General's torso.
James stumbled backward from the attack and his Blue Aura shattered.
This confirmed it, he can end him. Just one more attack and he can kill him.
He's not even tired from the horde he killed, he can kill him and begin the mission.
But he didn't move.
It was as if he couldn't kill him.
All he did was watch as the general recover, his Aura recovered.
"You did well, I was actually worried I went overboard." He said to him chuckling. "You are truly strong, when I met you were already powerful but now not only have your tactics improved, but your now stronger than fully fledged huntsmen."
Huntsmen were a joke to him, that's nothing to be proud of.
But being praised like this was new. Having attention like this was foreign to him and he liked it.
This man had made him strong he taught him skill and had always seemed to want him to improve.
Something no one ever has before.
In other timelines where Kron would plan to kill Raven, the relationship was truly strained from her always saying they were family, when really the two were tools to one another. The two did care for one another to some extent, but when all was done, they would destroy each other if they could benefit from it.
Raven always thought that they were like mother and son, but sadly she was just deluding everyone including herself that it was the case, she only had taken an interest in Kron for his power that she can use to achieve her goals. The only reason she did not kill him, was because unlike the Maidens she could not take their power for herself, if she could, she would have killed Kron to take it just like the last Spring Maiden. Kron knew that for all of Raven's claims of them being family, they only used each other for their own ends, when she referred to them as family it was her way of trying to stay in his good graces even if she herself didn't know it. That kept Kron from being truly loyal to her in most if not all other timelines.
Here though, Ironwood truly cared about Kron. Not just as a weapon or a soldier, but as someone he wants to see improve and better themselves to shape their future. He truly had come to see Kron as his own child as he saw Winter Schnee, and while he did want to raise him to become someone who would protect Atlas, in the end he wanted him to choose that, not mold him into it.
That was something that Raven could never do no matter what she claimed. And for that Kron had grown a stronger bond with him than with Raven.
He couldn't do it. He could not kill him.
James walked to him and knelt down to his level.
"Kron, you have gotten so much stronger in the short time I've had you here." James stated to the boy. "But I must ask, why do you want to keep getting stronger?"
To destroy Remnant and join the Saiyan army.
He wanted to say that was why.
But now that he has the power to decimate Atlas's military he can't bring himself to do it. He doubts he can destroy all of Solitas anytime soon but he should be strong enough to weaken their militaty by now.
But he can't. He truly doesn't want to do it now.
He only had one answer now.
"Because I want to get stronger." It was his nature after all. "I don't know what else to say."
James chuckled at that.
"Your dedication is something to admire." He explained to him. "I'm happy to have helped you with that."
Kron did not respond and inwardly sigh. He can't kill him now, and now he felt like his old goal wouldn't matter to him now.
"But I think you should find a purpose for it, find something your willing to fight for." Ironwood explained. "Take me for example, Atlas is my home, I seek to watch it progress to ensure it has a bright future, and everyone in it, that is what I use my strength for, to ensure it remains the strongest kingdom."
The strongest kingdom without a galactic tyrant enslaving them. And from what he learned of Atlas's history and from what he's seen he can see the appeal.
"You know I haven't found your parents, and I was thinking maybe you'd like to make Atlas your home."
Atlas his home?
That was more enticing than he wanted to admit.
His life here is much better, he can train, he can make his own choices without the threat of death.
"If you do decide, I will say this." General Ironwood explained. "In time you are welcome to join the military as you wanted, once you are of age."
Kron looked at Ironwood and chuckled. "Of course, you'd want me in your army, I'd be your strongest and Atlas's strongest weapon."
"Not a weapon, a soldier." Ironwood explained. "But I would like that to be your choice, I will not force this on you, whatever you decide you have my support."
While he did mean it, he would have him closely monitored. At the rate he's going he may become the strongest warrior on the planet. He wanted him to have his own choice as Ozpin had suggested, but that didn't mean he would simply let someone this powerful roam free without knowing what he was doing.
Kron mulled it over for a moment.
"If I have to wait to join the military fine, I'll join, besides my parents aren't going to find me anytime soon, I accept Atlas as my home." He grinned at the general. "Just watch your back, I might start to gun for your position if the mood strikes me. "
James chuckled at that and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Then follow my lead, I'll teach you all I can to reach your potential."
Kron still felt conflicted in all of this.
One day another Saiyan may come to this planet.
And when they do, they will end it anyway to hand it to Frieza.
But one thing's for certain.
He cannot kill the man who only sought to improve him and give him the opportunity to live a life he can enjoy instead of slaving away for mediocrity back home.
So that begs the question, should he really stay here on a doomed planet that one day the Saiyans will set their sights on.
James's home
James Ironwood had officially adopted the boy under his name.
Kron had been showin in a picture in the public as someone he adopted.
Kron looked at the papers that were used to make the adoption official.
"Kron Ironwood?" He asked looking at the paper.
James stood beside him and looked at him.
"If you are going to become my ward, then you should take my surname, since you don't have one."
Kron looked at it strangely, last names were not a thing back on Planet Vegeta, to be given one is strange.
"If it's problem I can remove it."
The Saiyan shook his head.
"It's not the worst name to get, it'll just take getting used to, I never understood the point of a last name."
James smirked knowing that was as close to a compliment as he will get from him.
"But, am I going to have to call you father?" He asked looking at him weirdly.
"Heh, no only if your comfortable. To the public you are my adopted son, but if you wish you do not need to call me your father. I'm fine if you address me normally."
Kron found the idea of adoption strange, on his home planet adoption wasn't really a thing. At best adult Saiyans will take another young one in to either use them as workers or train under them. This planet really did coddle their young.
All the same after learning from Ironwood all this time, he can't say he minded the last name.
"Then I'll address as you as Ironwood, if it's all the same." He explained to him. "I don't mind having your last name as long as you get me into the military."
He wanted to get in quickly, he had a strong desire to battle and felt some need to protect Atlas from any threats this planet had to offer.
Ironwood put a hand on his shoulder and smirked. "As long as you're willing I will make you the strongest soldier Atlas has ever seen."
If he wasn't already.
Months Later
Over time James had grown confident as Kron had started to become more willing to listen to him, it was rough for a few months but he really started following orders, but now it was time for the hard part.
Since he is known as his son, he must show him to events that even he would not want to attend.
"So why am I going?" Kron asked in an annoyed tone, he was dressed in a white buisness suit at his size.
"I told you, the public now knows you are under my wing, we need to go to introduce you to important people." He explained. "If we don't people may find it suspicious that I ama keeping my ward away from the public eye."
While James didn't mind that he adopted him, he would have rather kept him in hiding and it wasn't like Kron would have minded.
But Ozpin had suggested it so that he would be able to see the world and that raising him in the shadows may result in an upbringing that may put him in the wrong direction. He needed to have some form of social life it was already strange that he couldn't put him in school, he doubts he wouldn't just leave the classroom.
So taking him in this events was the lesser evil, he had to learn how to behave in front of other people, teaching manners can only take him so far.
"I don't want to go." He said to him. "I was going to practice a new technique today."
James couldn't help but smile, growing up and he still had a drive to grow stronger. Still he had to do this.
"I can't stand these parties, but it's a necessary evil." He looked down at him and had a stern expression. "I expect you to be on your best behavior."
Kron scoffed but the way Ironwood had raised him, had him grow respect for him more than Kron prime had for Raven.
Ironwood had shown to be decisive and swift with his decisions and never contradicted himself as Raven had done when she lectured Prime whenever tribe members had died when they were all about 'survival of the fittest.'
"If you succeed in behaving yourself I will take you to some ruins my soldiers found days ago."
"Ruins?" He asked with some enthusiasm.
James couldn't help but smile knowing how to have him listen to him.
"Yes, ruins of the previous kingdom that existed before Mantle came into existence." He said to him. "Archeologists have already identified the previous kingdom's name."
"What is it?" Kron asked, no museum he had been to had been able to identify it.
"If you behave I will give you the opportunity to find out."
Kron smiled and nodded his head looking forward to his future reward.
Ironwood sighed, at least he seemed to have gotten a good handle on having him behave in public.
Let's just hope a certain man will be able to hold their tongue should they see his tail.
The Party
Once Kron had been brought to the party, he stood next to James with a stoic expression fighting the boredom and the desire to eat everything the party had to offer like he does at home.
He had to behave in order to receive his reward, he really wanted to know more about the previous kingdom, so if he had to stand around behaving then fine he'll do it. But man he wished he was training with his new technique, it was going to be based on one of his favorite historical events.
James was greeting numerous people with a glass in hand while a few said hello to Kron, some commenting on how 'adorable' he is.
The Saiyan wanted to say something but one look from Ironwood reminded him of what he's doing this for. Not to mention he'd prefer to avoid receiving one of his lectures on the need of 'controlling his emotions' sometimes he wondered how he went from conquerer wannabe to what he is now.
He sighed, hoping something will be able to speed this party along.
Just then a man in a white suit with a mustache approached them with a woman with white hair and blue eyes carrying a wine glass.
"General Ironwood, so good to see you."
"Mr. Schnee, a pleasure." Ironwood greeted with what Kron thought was a forced smile.
He must be one of those important people that he doesn't like, better be careful in case this man makes the mistake of pissing him off too.
He shook his hand. "I take it Willow couldn't come."
"Yes she's feeling under the weather." He had a tone of fake sadness.
It was another way to say that she was passed out from her daily drinking, Ironwood heard rumors on how the Schnee matriarch had turned to drink since the beginning of their marriage.
Jacques looked down at Kron and noticed the tail behind him, Kron stared back at him with a blank expression for a few seconds before Ironwood lightly tapped his shoulder, signaling he needed to greet him.
"So, this young man is the boy you adopted."
"Hello Mr. Schnee, it's an honor to meet you, I am Kron Ironwood." He greeted as politely as he was asked to, and felt extremely strange and rose his arm to offer a handshake.
Despite popular belief he was no racist, just a cruel business man who will work his employees to the bone and get in anyone's good graces for the sake of expanding the Schnee Dust Corporation.
He brought out his hand and shook the CEO's hand.
"Well mannered, you're doing an excellent job raising the boy." He said politely before letting go of his hand. "One moment." He turned and brought a hand up motioning two girls to go to them.
Two girls one was a few years older than Kron the other was the same age.
"You've already met my daughters, Kron, I'id like you to meet them." He said to them before gesturing them.
Great there's two more of them to deal with, he wouldn't mind this party so much of James hadn't kept forcing him to greet every person here.
He wondered if this is how King Vegeta felt when he had to greet Frieza's ambassadors.
Whatever hopefully they won't talk too much.
"Greetings my name is Winter Schnee." She said to him.
Weiss stared at Kron for a moment before looking at his tail. "My name is Weiss Schnee it's nice to meet you."
God this was boring, but Kron acted accordingly and returned the courtesy, even though he already did with the old man"
"Let's allow the children to talk, I have some things to speak with you about that concern I brought up." He explained to him.
No doubt he was trying to ask for a favor that would benefit him, wealthy people really do try their best to have everyone in their pockets.
Begrudgingly Ironwood looked down at Kron and gave him a look.
It was his way of silently reminding him to behave himself.
Kron watched him go and stared at the two girls, ugh this getting worse and worse.
"So is General Ironwood your dad?" Weiss asked, though she was eyeing his tail and felt cautious.
"Sort of." Kron replied bored with this conversation. "We're not related but he found me four years ago."
He hoped that they would just get the hint and shut up until their father arrives.
Weiss seemed to want to do that, but the older sister had to ask.
"What's it like to be raised by General Ironwood?" Winter asked with a smile.
It sounded as though she wished he was her father.
Kron thought of how this relationship began as a stepping stone to wonder conquer Remnant to now being something strange. He supposed that he didn't mind speaking his mind on it, after like other timelines, most if not all versions of Kron love to talk.
"It's alright" He said to her. "He gives me the best training and is teaching me how to be a great soldier, he's helped sharpen my body as well as my mind."
Winter's eyes seemed to widen a bit though she kept herself in control. There was no doubt that this girl had looked up to General Ironwood as if he was some sort of hero.
"I see, you really are lucky to have been adopted by such a great man." She said to him. "I know under his guidance you will grow up to accomplish many great things."
Weiss eyed Winter, glad that she was doing the talking here as she wasn't sure how to speak to this boy. This Faunus, she didn't hate the Faunus but over the years of her father's rage againts the White Fang have made her feel vulnerable in the presence of Faunus.
Kron looked at Winter almost impressed by her enthusiasm and had said. "I'm sure I will, I take it you want to be a soldier to."
"More than anything." Winter responded. "I want to hone my skills and protect my kingdom." She smiled while looking in the direction of general Ironwood. "I had dreamed to work alongside him and one day do my part to ensure the safety of our home."
Kron didn't respond only wondering how such a pampered girl would end up wanting to join a military. It made him smirk slightly seeing a desire to fight in her eyes.
Winter turned to Kron with a smile. "Perhaps one day we will fight alongside each other on the battlefield."
He heard of the tales of the Schnee Glyphs, a Semblance exclusive to their family. He read all about Nicholas Schnee, a warrior seeking to both get stronger as well as knowledge. In a way it reminded him of himself.
"Maybe" Kron said to her thinking of his old plans, his original goal. Should he really do it? Sure it was strange living under the rule of someone weaker than him. But there was more to Ironwood than his strength, and he knew that if he stayed with him, he'd learn more tactics than he would if he did end up becoming a low class soldier.
Not to mention this life had more benefits than he thought possible.
Winter turned to see Jaques standing with Ironwood and gesturing her to head over with another man and a boy Winter's age.
"Pardon me father seems to need something of me." She said to him and turned to her sister. "Weiss, can you please keep Kron company while I go see what he needs."
"Don't go." Weiss said to her and grabbed her dress. "Father probably wants you to meet another suitor." She said in a disgusted tone.
"I won't be long, just please stay here, I promise I'll make it quick." Winter said with a reassuring smile.
Weiss tried to return one while watching her go and she turned to Kron who seemed to be eating some food on the table of the side.
She sighed, clearly uncomfortable being alone with him.
He seemed not interested in talking to her, which she wouldn't mind, but she knew her father would get angry if she didn't at least try to have a conversation with the adopted son of General Ironwood.
"So Kron" The nine year old Weiss tried to come up with the boy her age. "How did you meet General Ironwood."
Kron sighed, annoyed at how timid this brat seemed. "He found me four years ago after I fought a huntsmanafter living in the mountains." He explained.
"You fought a huntsman?" Weiss asked.
"Yes and I trained with him when I was young." He replied, it felt so good when he knocked Clover on the ground.
"Impossible your far too young." Weiss said as if it were a fact.
Kron looked angry.
"I did, I fought a huntsman four years ago and survived fighting off Grimm in the cold."
"No you didn't, you don't look older than me, so you had to have been five four years ago, you couldn't have fought a huntsman or survived in the wilds by yourself." Weiss accused. "And even if you did train with huntsman, it's clear that they are going easy on you."
Kron grew angry at her and took a breath.
"No I'm so strong that he had to have to fight all out." He said to her. "I'm not a weakling like you."
Weiss grew angry now.
"I'm a Schnee! I'm going to grow up strong just like my grandfather, my sister's not the only one who had training!"
This girl really was getting on his nerves.
"Oh sure you will, I'm sure daddy can afford to pay people to lose to you." He retorted. "I bet he pays other people to lose to your sister."
Weiss grit her teeth and turned her head.
"Whatever, all you are is a brute me and my sister are going to grow up to be powerful warriors like we are."
Kron clenched his fist and sighed.
It's fine he just had to put up with her for a bit and he'll get his reward.
After this he'll just avoid her.
Though knowing how often Ironwood must interact with these people he might have to deal with her in the future.
It's going to be so hard not to start attack her.
Maybe he can get her to attack him, then he can rule out self defense.
Somehow he managed to control himself for the rest of the party.
Months Later
Unfortunately for Kron he would discover that this would not be his last time with the Schnee heiresses.
He would have to return to these events occasionly, a few times every season much to his annoyance.
It wasn't so bad due to the food.
But in almost every one of them he had to interact with the Schnees, and he always ended up around Weiss.
The two would often bicker when the grown ups weren't around.
One day it ended up in something neither Ironwood nor Jaques would approve of.
"I bet you haven't fought a single Grimm in your life, your daddy keeps you safe in that huge house doesn't he, sheltering you from lifting a finger." He said to her.
"I have been training for two years by the best tutors!" She yelled at him. "I've learned swordsmanship and can beat anyone my age!"
"Sure, sure, those tutors are definitely accurately praising you, I'm sure they provide better training than the general of the strongest kingdom." He said with pride in his tone.
"Why don't I show you." She asked in a threatening tone.
Kron rose an eyebrow hearing that.
"Outside, in the garden now." She said to him.
The Saiyan tilted his head and glanced at Ironwood and the Schnee's father.
"Won't your daddy get angry?"
Weiss took a deep sigh. "He won't notice, trust me, now go out and meet me." She said to him.
Kron thought of that and glanced at Ironwood who seemed to be distracted.
"Unless your scared." Weiss teased.
The Saiyan sighed. "Fine."
While everyone was distracted with the party the two were in the backyard of the Schnee manor.
Weiss pulled out a rapier out of her side.
"If you apologize I'll let everything you said go."
Kron chuckled at how threatening the girl was.
"I haven't said anything wrong you spoiled brat."
The Schnee ran forward determined to teach him a lesson.
Kron watched the girl swing her blade, it wasn't bad, she definitely had some talent, but it was nothing she couldn't best.
The Saiyan swayed a blade aiming for his side and lightly kicked at her stomach.
The impact sent the girl flying and hit her back againts a tree.
Her Aura shattered on impact and she fell to the ground.
"Ohh, wh-what?" She asked as she started to get up.
"Guess it's my win." Kron said proudly while walking forward and crossing his arms. "To no one's surprise."
"You" Weiss gritted her teeth and felt her stomach. "How, did you do that?"
Kron smirked and crossed his arms.
"Easy, I'm a warrior, and your still a fragile little snowflake."
Weiss squeezed her fists, her Aura broke in one hit. That's never happened before.
"You, how are you this strong?"
Kron just shrugged his shoulders. "Because I had real training, had real combat experience." And he was an alien that was born to fight. "So I guess we're done here, right little snowflake, you gonna keep your mouth shut from now on."
Weiss glared and squeezed her fists in rage.
"You little" The Schnee never felt so humiliated, she thought she was strong that she was upholding her family name.
Kron walked away towards the entrance of the house. "Gotta say, from what I read the Schnee family really had fallen, Nicholas Schnee is rolling in his grave."
That did it.
"You little!" Weiss gritted her teeth. "Just wait till next time!"
"Next time?" Kron asked turning to her.
"Yes, next time!" Weiss yelled. "I will send you a message for when we spar next time and I promise you it won't be easy! I'll make sure you never mock my family again!"
The Saiyan looked at the girl and chuckled.
"Sure you will, fine whatever, challenge me whenever it will always be the same." He said to her before walking back in the manor.
And so Weiss would challenge Kron whenever he provoked her enough leading to them training together behind Jaques back.
Weiss's butler Klein always covered for them.
Over time Kron would actually begin tutoring Weiss, correcting her whenever she made a mistake.
"You shouldn't lose your cool over every little thing, it makes you clumsy."
Weiss growled in response but remembered how she's been faring, every sparring session she always fell to the ground.
This boy truly had been trained well by General Ironwood.
But it didn't deter her, she wanted to at least gain one win from him no matter what. Anything to shut him up about mocking the family.
Little by little Weiss would improve, more so than most timelines, constantly getting into a fight with someone so strong.
Ironwood found out, while at first he was upset that Kron had been doing this behind his back he realized that he was excersising good control over his strength and that the young Schnee was training to become a huntress anyway.
So he approved of their sparring sessions and made it so he'd find a way to occupy Jaques and insists that their children go 'play' out of sight of either of them.
This went on for years, and it lead to a strange relationship between the two.
Eight years had passed.
Kron was dressed in a white coat with white gloves and a black undershirt.
The Saiyan was standing tall over looking a massive horde of Grimm headed for him towards Mantle.
The 17 year old Saiyan watched as they headed for the city.
With a smile he aimed his hands forward and fired two energy waves at the coming wave of Grimm.
Most of the monsters were eliminating, leaving only one Alpha Megolith headed for him.
The Saiyan grinned end held up a hand wanting to use another technique he created, based on what he read about the first Vytal festival.
A chain of red energy formed at his hand and it formed into a spikey chained mace.
He created a construct the skill his father taught him to use to create shapes for entertainment. Though this time it was made into a weapon.
This technique was based on Atlas's champion in the first Vytal Festival.
"I call this Champion's Flail." He swing the energy chain unleashing the ball and slamming it into the Megoliath's skull.
It detonated destroying the entire Grimm's skull instantly.
Kron yawned, that was quicker than usual.
"Good work."
Kron turned around to see Ironwood standing with a smile and his arms behind his back.
"Child's play" Kron replied. "When are you going to give me something fun to do."
James glared making him aware he didn't like this attitude.
Kron faltered and reworded. "When is my next mission, sir."
Ironwood sighed seeing how this boy still lacked discipline in some areas.
"I do have something more challenging coming up, I assure you that you will need your full abilities."
Kron considered this but didn't get his hopes up, he merely nodded to the man who raised him and was about to fly home.
"You should know you have a visitor waiting for you at home."
He looked at him wondering who he meant.
Kron had made it to his home, he and Ironwood's home, but in front of it was a limo with a familiar looking girl.
"You again? Here to fight already, we just fought yesterday, you already have something new to try?" He asked while crossing his arms.
It was Weiss Schnee dressed in white, she crossed her arms as she glared at him. "A simple hello would be nice."
"We're not at a party, I don't need to greet you, go back to daddy."
Weiss gritted her teeth. "You shut your mouth you narcissist."
Kron chuckled watching her get angry, over the years he had grown to enjoy Weiss's anger. In this timeline instead of enjoying Yang's wrath he had thoroughly enjoyed the Schnee's anger instead, which resulted in strange feelings he couldn't identify.
"Whatever Weiss, if your not here to fight than we got nothing to talk about." He said to her and began to walk into his house.
"Wait"
Kron stopped and looked at her.
"You should know, in six months I will be leaving." She said to him. "I decided to go to Beacon Academy to finish my huntress training."
The Saiyan looked confused.
"Your leaving, why?"
Weiss heard a slight tone in his voice and smirked.
"Aww, are you gonna feel lonely without me?"
"Tch" Kron squeezed his fists hearing that. "Shut up, why bother leaving, your in the strongest kingdom, you'd learn better in Atlas's militaty than any huntsman academy."
Weiss thought of the reasons how she didn't want to receive special treatment because of her father.
"Don't worry about it, I just thought you should know."
Kron crossed his arms and looked slightly disappointed, though it was hard to tell. He had grown to enjoy her anger.
But there was nothing that can be done about it, she'll be back to challenge him, she always did when they were children.
"Fine, see ya, I'll miss being able to have fun knocking you down a peg."
He turned around about to
"Wait"
Kron stopped and turned to her.
"I want you to" She stopped for a few seconds while clenching her fists.
Kron rolled his eyes.
"What?"
Weiss said nothing for a few seconds, she looked as though she was embarrasse.
"I-I want you to train me!"
Kron was shocked hearing that, but couldn't help but chuckle at how she admitted she wanted him to train her.
"Stop laughing, are you going to train me or not?"
The Saiyan would have said no, but he wanted to know something.
"Why not learn from Winter, I hear she has been training you."
"She has but I want more than just her training." She said and looked at him. "Look, we both know that your stronger than her, the strongest in the whole kingdom."
Kron's ego swelled hearing that coming from her and grinned.
"Stop with that look! Anyway, I want you to get me ready to be he best at Beacon Academy."
The Saiyan turned to her and put a hand to his chin.
"I don't know, your strong but I don't think you'll be much in only six months of boot camp, there's hardly anything in it for me, and you know I don't need money."
"Who said anything about money." Weiss said to him. "If you agree, I will give you a copy of my grandfather's journal."
That got his attention.
"A copy, an exact copy, every page filled with his thoughts?" The Schnees kept Nicholas's journal out of reach for anyone to view, receiving a copy is up his alley.
"That's right, you get a copy of his journal, all you need to do is train me for six months."
Kron mulled it over a bit, it would be nice to have that journal, and fun to watch her struggle in his training. It'sa win-win for him.
"Fine, but if you cry during my training I will never let you live it down."
"Shut up, maybe I'll finally get to beat you."
"Sure." Kron chuckled. "We start tomorrow."
Weiss nodded and walked towards the limo.
"And Kron."
The Saiyan glanced at her with his arms crossed.
"Thank you." She quickly went inside the limo and it drove off.
Kron was confused that is the first nice thing she ever said to him.
He shrugged his shoulders and walked inside.
Kron thought of his life here again.
Like most if versions of himself, Kron Ironwood had abandon his original mission and embraced his new life in Atlas.
But while Kron did appreciate and desire to protect his new life there was one concern on his mind.
He looked up at the night sky, while it is clear he can't help but imagine another Saiyan space pod coming down containing a low class warrior.
While this version of Kron had gained the power to end Remnant as he originally intended, he knows that he cannot stand up to a low class warrior.
He needs to get stronger but in order to get stronger he needs strong opponents, stronger than this planet can provide.
To do that he will need to finally figure out a way to explain how to obtain this power to Ironwood.
But even if Ki were to become common in Atlas that wouldn't guarantee their survival.
Maybe there should only be one kingdom.
Perhaps they should all join the strongest kingdom.
In order to protect his new life, his new home he may want to consider a way to make that happen, even if Ironwood won't like it.
Fu's Hideout
"Oh, well I guess it could've been worse." Fu chuckled. "So I guess Ironwood's parenting turned out better than Raven's though it was an extremely low bar, hahaha."
"Still he may have abandoned his original mission but now he's thinking of making Atlas the only kingdom in preparation for an invasion that may or may not ever come, huh, this could be bad." Fu sighed. "I guess all we can do is hope whatever Kron Ironwood does won't cause too much damage."
"Well, this was my last scroll of this timeline, so everyone just hope that this version will do the right thing or hope that Ironwood jogs some sense into him."
Fu then clapped his hands.
"Ok, now it's time for the votes, so this timeline is now on pause until I find that pesky scroll so here are the options!
"Option A: What if Kron's pod landed near Salem's castle?"
Another familiar option came.
"Option B: What if Kron was female."
An old option that had 0 votes has returned
"Option C: What if Kron had joined the White Fang?"
And one last familiar option.
"Option D: What if Kron had stayed with the Branwen Tribe?"
"You guys know the drill! One week from tomorrow till the cote closes, any options that have 0 votes will be swapped out for another timeline."
"Alright everybody, with that I wish you good luck, hope you enjoyed this timeline!
So now this Kron has a name, Kron Ironwood. One of his stronger and more skilled variants.
While this version of Kron does have his moments of enjoying annoying his opponents he doesn't toy with them as often as Kron Prime does due to Ironwood's strict parenting.
U know I think this might be the most mettle name i have for his variations, don't get me wrong I'm partial to Kron Belladonna, but there's something cool about Kron taking the Ironwood name.
Alright guys, hope you all enjoy this timeline, I usually leave a huge author's note but it's really light as I'm writing this note and i just finished so I'm just gonna head to bed.
Thank u for reading and I hope I did this timeline right please let me know if there's anyway I can improve it.
And good luck on the poll!
