Early Sunday morning in the attic of LeBlanc, which happened to double as his bedroom at the time, Ren Amamiya [Codename: Joker] woke to the loud ring of his cell phone. Groggily reaching over to identify the caller, he turned the screen to his eyes and saw the name "Futaba" displayed.

"Yeah, she's been calling for the past 15 minutes or so. You can be a surprisingly heavy sleeper." At the foot of Ren's bed was the source of the voice, a small black and white cat, or rather, what appeared to be one. In reality this was Morgana [Codename: Mona], Ren's friend and fellow Phantom Thief.

"I would have answered it myself but, you know." He added cheekily, holding up one of his paws. With a small sigh, Ren answered the call.

"FINALLY! What have you been doing!? We need to get going, come on!"

Futaba [Codename: Oracle] continued her panicked plea for a bit longer before at last giving Ren an opportunity to respond.

"I was sleeping." Ren replied succinctly. "Isn't there still an hour before we were planning on heading out?" He asked, glancing over at Morgana for confirmation and being met with a single nod.

"That's... technically true, I guess. But, the earlier the better right!?" Futaba replied, followed by an awkward silence from both parties. "I'm, uh, sorry for waking you up though." She added with an apologetic tone.

Ren couldn't help but smile a bit, Futaba's excitability had always been contagious and it was difficult for him to fault her for it. "It's fine." He said with a slight chuckle. "Since I'm up I guess we can head out now if you want."

"Awesome! I'll meet you out front!" Futaba replied, the energetic tone immediately returning to her voice.

After hanging up the call, Ren began to get dressed and gather his things. "So, we're heading out early?" Morgana asked rhetorically, knowing full well the answer was yes. "I guess it can't be helped." With a small sigh, he quickly hopped into Ren's open school bag as it was collected by it's owner and the two headed down the stairs.

As they began to pass through LeBlanc, Ren saw the cafe's owner in the kitchen cleaning the dishes. "Oh? Someone's up early." Sojiro seemed a bit puzzled for a moment before seeming to have remembered.

"Ah, that's right. You two were heading to Akihabara today to get some kind of game or something, weren't you? Well, do me a favor and flip the sign on your way out, and don't do anything stupid, you hear me?" His words and expression were harsh, but Ren knew it came from a place of genuine concern. Giving Sojiro a nod of understanding, Ren opened the front door and flipped the sign from "Closed" to "Open" as requested.

"Ready? Let's go!" Futaba hopped up from where she had been sitting in front of the cafe.

"You're way too excited Futaba, you're gonna be exhausted before we even get there at this rate." Morgana pointed out as the group headed for the station, poking his head out of Ren's bag.

"Hey! I- ugh... guess you have a point." It was true that Futaba had a tendency to get overexcited and burn through her energy all at once if she wasn't careful. Trying her best to contain her excitement, the group continued on to Akihabara.

Several hours later and the three were en route to the station in Akihabara, Futaba happily clinging her newly acquired item tightly to her chest, an enormous grin plastered across her face.

As they passed by a certain coffee shop, Ren noticed a familiar figure, clad in brown suit and striped tie, sipping coffee through the window. Slowing his pace to confirm his impression, Futaba quickly followed his gaze.

"Ah! Is that Akechi?" Futaba asked upon seeing what had caught Ren's attention.

"Seems like it, I wonder what he's up to?" He replied, the two of them making their way inside to greet their friend and ally.

"Ah, Amimiya and Sakura. I take it Morgana is with you as well?" Akechi [Codename: Crow] said as he noticed the pair approaching his table, gesturing to Ren's bag as he mentioned their feline companion. "I certainly hadn't expected to run into you today."

"Heh, same to you." Morgana replied as he emerged in response to his previous question. "So what-"

*BZZT*

His words were quickly interrupted by the buzzing of a cell phone. "Ah, that's mine." Said Akechi, reaching into his jacket to retrieve his phone. "Apologies, one moment."

The nature of his job made situations like this relatively common, but fortunately the other Phantom Thieves were able to quickly adjust to this aspect of working with him. As he looked at his phone a quizzical look came over his face, before being replaced with one of nonchalance as he gave a slight shrug.

"Everything alright?" Ren asked.

"Ah, yes. Just some kind of spam message, it looks like." Akechi replied, closing his phone before turning back to Morgana. "I take it you were going to ask about my business in Akihabara?"

Morgana gave an affirmative nod, and Akechi continued.

"Well, the truth is I initially had an interview scheduled today, but it seems the woman who was going to meet with me had something come up and was forced to cancel last minute." He explained. "That said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit relieved, I accepted the offer on a whim and given the subject I was having second thoughts."

"You? Second thoughts?" Futaba responded with a somewhat mocking incredulity.

"Ha, is it really that surprising? I'm only human, after all."

"Okay I gotta ask, what the heck was this interview supposed to be about?" Morgana chimed in, unable to hold back his curiosity.

"Ah right, well it seems they wanted my thoughts on the sudden appearance of that strange satellite. An interesting topic to be sure, but not exactly my forte." Akechi answered, giving his coffee another sip.

"Hang on, satellite? Like, outer space satellite?" Morgana voiced his confusion, and although silent, Ren's befuddled expression suggested that he too was in the dark.

"Wait, you guys seriously haven't heard about it?" Futaba asked. Ren and Morgana both shook their heads in unison.

"Well, seeing as you're already here, why not go see it for yourselves?" Akechi suggested.

"I mean, I haven't actually seen it in person, so I'm game! Uhh, as long as you're coming of course." Futaba looked back at Ren with a look of anticipation. He held back a small chuckle, this sort of thing was becoming increasingly common ever since Futaba had dubbed Ren her 'Lucky Item', one that she claimed helped her to go places and do things she once believed impossible. That said, he didn't mind one bit. If anything, he often looked forward to their ever expanding excursions.

"Of course." Ren replied simply, a gentle smile on his lips.

"Whoa..." The trio uttered in unison, looking upward at the bizarre sight above them. Futaba had given a brief explanation of the situation on their way there. Just over two weeks prior, a large metal object had appeared embedded within the top floor of the Radio Kaikan in Akihabara. The sudden nature of it's appearance, as well as the lack of any reliable witnesses had resulted in an eruption of theories, many conspiratorial in nature, on online forums in regards to this strange phenomenon.

Despite her online familiarity with the sight, Futaba herself couldn't help but look as surprised as the others seeing such a thing with her own eyes.

As they continued to gaze, Ren and Futaba's phones gave a simultaneous chime, demanding both of their attention. It was almost certainly a message from one of their fellow Phantom Thieves in the group chat. Ren glanced over to see Futaba had pulled out her phone in the blink of an eye and, as he began to reach for his own felt an impact against his left shoulder, nearly knocking him off his feet.

"Sorry!" An energetic but hurried voice cried out behind him, likely from the individual who had crashed into him. As he instinctively turned to the source of the voice-

*crunch*

He felt a pressure under his foot, and looked underneath to see what appeared to be the shattered remains of a cell phone. Almost subconsciously, he quickly reached for his pocket and confirmed with relief that his own phone was safely within.

As he began to wonder if the phone had been dropped by the one who bumped into him just now, his thoughts were quickly interrupted by a tap on his shoulder. Looking up, he was met with a very worried look from Futaba, still holding her phone in her hand.

"What's wrong, Futaba?"

There was a slight pause as she lifted her phone to his eyes, giving a very short reply.

"It's... a request."
