Motostoke Gym Battles (Part Four)
"Pokeball, go!" said Clyde. He throws a pokeball at a battered Sizzlipede and hits it. It gets sucked into the pokeball; after a few seconds, it clicks, indicating Sizzlipede's capture. "Yes! I caught a Sizzlipede!" He looks at Quagsire. "Great job, Quagsire." Quagsire raises his arms and cheers. A Motostoke Stadium staff member walks to Clyde.
"Congratulations; that capture has earned you enough points to complete the Gym Test." said the staff member.
"Yes." said Clyde, doing a fist pump. Moments later, Clyde and Kabu were on the pitch while Lincoln, his sisters, Ronnie Anne, and Sam were in the audience. At Royal Woods, Howard and Harold were watching along with the Louds and the Santiagos.
"There's our Clyde, Hare Bare!" said Howard McBride.
"I see him, Howie." replied Harold McBride. Back at Motostoke Stadium, a referee steps to the center of the field.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Clyde McBride." said the official. "Both trainers will each use three Pokemon; whoever manages to defeat all the other trainer's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official before he walks to the sidelines. Clyde and Kabu then walk to opposite ends of the arena, and each take out a pokeball.
"Ninetales, go!" said Kabu, throwing Ninetales pokeball and releasing it.
"Go, Quagsire!" said Clyde, throwing Quagsire's pokeball and releasing him.
"Kabu starts off with Ninetales while Clyde starts off with Quagsire." said the announcer.
"Ninetales, Will-O-Wisp!" said Kabu. Ninetales raises up its tail and launches a purple flame from each of them and they hit Quagsire. He becomes covered in flames.
"Oh man; Quagsire's burned." said Lincoln. "Don't give up, Clyde!"
"Fight it, Quagsire!" said Clyde. Quagsire yells and spreads his arms, expelling the fire from his body. "Great work, Quagsire; now use Mud Shot!" Quagsire launches a large glob of mud out of his mouth, and it hits Ninetales, dealing super effectvie damage to it, as well as lowering its speed.
"Ninetales, Quick Attack!" said Kabu. Ninetales runs at Quagsire with incredible speed and rams him, knocking him back.
"Aqua Tail!" said Clyde. Water spirals around Quagsire's tail and he swings it at Ninetales, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Quick Attack!" said Kabu. Ninetales rams Quagsire with incredible speed, knocking him back.
"Use Slam!" said Clyde. Quagsire swings his tail down at Ninetales and hits him, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Quagsire wins the match." said the referee.
"Clyde's Quagsire has defeated Kabu's Ninetales." said the announcer.
"Great job, Clyde!" said Lincoln.
"You too, Quagsire!" said Lana. Back at Royal Woods.
"Clyde's Quagsire did it!" said Harold.
"He still has two more Pokemon to battle, Harold." said Howard. "But I'm sure Clyde can do it." Harold grasps Howard's hands.
"Yes; we must believe in our Clyde." said Harold.
"We know Clyde can do it, too." said Lynn Sr. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Ninetales to its pokeball.
"You did well, Ninetales." said Kabu. He puts Ninetales pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Arcanine, go!" He throws Arcanine's pokeball and releases it.
"And Kabu has brought out his Arcanine." said the announcer.
"Arcanine, Bite!" Arcanine jumps at Quagsire and bites his arm, dealing damage. Fortunately, Bite doesn't make Quagsire flinch.
"Use Yawn!" said Clyde. Quagsire opens his mouth and releases a blue bubble from it. It floats at Arcanine and it hits it. Arcanine starts to look drowsy.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kabu. Arcanine charges at Quagsire with incredible speed and rams him. Arcanine suddenly falls asleep and collapses.
"Quagsire, Rain Dance!" said Clyde. Quagsire raises his arms and wiggles his sides. Gray clouds appeared from above and it begins to rain.
"Arcanine, wake up!" said Kabu. Arcanine remains asleep.
"Quagsire, Muddy Water!" said Clyde. Quagsire releases brown water from his body, and it flows towards Arcanine and hits it, dealing super effective damage and more due to the rain powering up Quagsire's water attacks.
"Arcanine, wake up!" said Kabu. Arcanine suddenly wakes up. "Excellent. Use Extreme Speed!" Arcanine charges at Quagsire and rams him, knocking him to the ground. Quagsire struggles to get up.
"Aqua Tail!" said Clyde. Quagsire jumps at Arcanine while water was spiraling around his tail and he hits Arcanine with it, dealing super effective damage to it. Arcanine falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Quagsire wins the match." said the referee.
"Quagsire has defeated Kabu's Arcanine. Now Clyde is just one win away from obtaining victory." said the announcer. Clyde's friends cheered from the audience. Back at Royal Woods, everyone was also cheering.
"That's our boy!" said Harold.
"Now all Clyde has to do is defeat Kabu's Centiskorch." said Howard. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You deserve a rest, Arcanine." said Kabu. Clyde notices Quagsire struggling to stay on his feet.
"I guess you need a rest too, Quagsire." said Clyde, returning Quagsire to his pokeball.
"And both trainers return their Pokemon to their pokeballs." said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Clyde use next?"
"I guess Quagsire did look like it needed a rest." said Leni.
"Yeah." replied Ronnie Anne. Clyde and Kabu each pull out a pokeball.
"Centiskorch, go!" said Kabu, throwing Centiskorch's pokeball and releasing it.
"Kabu has brought out Centiskorch; what Pokemon will Clyde bring out?" asked the referee.
"Urshifu, go!" said Clyde, throwing his Urshifu's pokeball and releases him.
"And Clyde brings out an, um, I don't know what this Pokemon is." said the announcer. Everyone, except Lincoln and his sisters and friends look at each other with shocked looks on their faces, even Kabu looked surprised.
"What Pokemon is this, young man?" asked Kabu.
"This is Urshifu; I got him from the Isle of Armor when he was a Kubfu." said Clyde. At the announcer booth, a staff member was showing the announcer a Rotom Phone that was showing Urshifu's information.
"Okay, I was informed that this Pokemon is known as Urshifu Rapid Strike Style, the evolved form of a Pokemon called Kubfu, and it's part water, part fighting." said the announcer. Kabu shakes himself out of his stupor and returns Centiskorch to its pokeball; he enlarges it with his Dynamax Band. He throws it and releases it, now Gigantimaxed.
"Okay, Urshifu, use Leer!" said Clyde. Urshifu glares at Centiskorch and his eyes glow blue, weakening Centiskorch's defense.
"I guess Clyde wants to try to beat Centiskorch without Dynamaxing." said Lincoln.
"You think he can do it?" asked Lola.
"We'll see." said Lana. Back at Royal Woods.
"Isn't Clyde going to Dynamax his Urshifu?" asked Luan.
"I guess he wants to try beating a Gigantimaxed Pokemon with a regular-sized Pokemon." said Harold.
"Lincoln was capable of doing it in his battles with Milo and Nessa, so Clyde probably can do it too." said Lisa.
"I hope so." said Howard. Back at Motostoke Stadium.
"Centiskorch, Max Inferno!" said Kabu. Centiskorch unleashes a massive spiral of fire at Urshifu and hits it, but not dealing much damage to it. Bright sunlight replaces the rain in the stadium.
"Oh man, now Centiskorch's fire attacks are much stronger now." said Lincoln.
"Don't give up, Clyde!" said Luna.
"Urshifu, Aerial Ace!" said Clyde. Urshifu flies at Centiskorch while white streaks of light come out of him and he rams into Centiskorch, dealing super effective damage.
"G-Max Centiferno!" said Kabu. Centiskorch bunches its body together and releases a blast of fire and it hits Urshifu, hitting him, and doing moderate damage due to the sunlight powering up Centiskorch's fire moves.
"Use Surging Strikes!" said Clyde. Urshifu becomes surrounded by a burst of blue energy and he leaps at Centiskorch, unleashes a barrage of punches and kicks at Centiskorch, dealing super effective, critical damage at it with each blow. Centiskorch lets out a cry as it falls to the ground while Urshifu lands on his feet. Centiskorch returns to his regular size, unconscious.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Urshifu wins the match. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Clyde McBride." said the referee.
"Incredible! Clyde's Urshifu had defeated Kabu's Gigantimaxed Centiskorch without Dynamaxing!" said the announcer. Everyone in the audience roars with applause.
"That was amazing!" said Lincoln.
"Clyde did it!" said Leni.
"That was so rad!" said Sam. Back at Royal Woods, Howard and Harold were hugging each other, tears streaming out of their eyes.
"Our little Clyde did it!" cried Howard.
"He sure did!" said Harold.
"That was great!" said Lynn Jr.
"I'll say." said Luan.
"Lincoln should be up next." said Rita. Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"You fought well, Centiskorch." said Kabu. He puts Centiskorch's pokeball away and walks to Clyde and Urshifu. "I must say, Clyde, I never expected a Pokemon like your Urshifu." Clyde nods in response. Kabu pulls a Fire Badge out of his pocket. "For your impressive victory, I reward you with the Fire Badge."
"Thanks, Kabu." said Clyde as he takes the Fire Badge, along with pokedollars. Later, at the lobby, everyone was congratulating Clyde.
"Great battle out there, buddy." said Clyde.
"You were great." said Lana.
"That was amazing." said Lola. A staff member walks to Lincoln.
"I believe you're the last trainer for the day." said the staff member.
"Yes I am." Lincoln replied.
"Then please follow me to the test area." said the staff member.
"You got this, bro." said Luna.
"Give it all you got!" said Clyde.
"We're rootin' for you." said Ronnie Anne.
"Thanks, everyone." said Lincoln. He then follows the staff member to the test area where he starts his Gym Test. He manages to capture a Litwick, a Vulpix, and a Sizzlipede; earning him enough points to pass.
Ten minutes later on the pitch, Lincoln and Kabu were standing together at the center of it.
"Your friends and family have proven quite formidable." said Kabu.
"Thank you, sir." said Lincoln. The two then go to opposite sides of the field as an official comes to the center of it.
"This Gym Battle is between the Gym Leader, Kabu; and the Gym Challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official. "Both trainers will each use three Pokemon; whoever manages to defeat all the other trainer's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official before he walks to the sidelines.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was cheering for Lincoln.
"That's my boy." said Lynn Sr.
"Do you think he can win?" asked Lori.
"Why not?" asked Lynn Jr. "He dominated the last two Gym Leaders."
"True; but Kabu seems stronger than them." said Lori.
"Let's just have faith in Lincoln." said Rita.
Back in Motostoke, Lincoln and Kabu each take a pokeball off their belts; Lincoln throws his, releasing his Lycanroc; Kabu throws his, releasing his Ninetales.
"Lincoln goes with a Lycanroc, while Kabu starts out with his Ninetales. Who will triumph?" says the announcer.
"Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc becomes coated in a white aura, and it moves very quickly towards the Ninetales and slams into it, doing a lot of super effective damage due to a combination of type advantage, Lycanroc's Tough Claws ability, and the Hard Stone he had on him; and knocking it out.
"Ninetales is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winner." said the official.
"You did it, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc howls in response.
"Unbelievable! Lycanroc takes out Ninetales with one attack!" said the announcer.
"That was amazing!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Lycanroc's tough." said Lana.
Back at the Loud house, everyone watching was amazed by what they just saw.
"That was quick." said Lynn Jr.
"Lycanroc has many advantages from what Lincoln told us before." said Lisa.
"Keep it up, Lincoln." said Luan.
Back in Motostoke Stadium, Kabu returns his Ninetales to its pokeball.
"Take a a good rest, Ninetales." said Kabu. He puts Ninetales' pokeball away and looks at Lycanroc. 'I shouldn't underestimate that one.' He then takes out another pokeball and throws it, releasing his Arcanine.
"Looks like it's canine vs canine as Kabu lets out his Arcanine. Who will come out as the alpha in this battle?" asked the announcer. Arcanine glares harshly at Lycanroc, making him a little nervous and weakening his attack strength.
"Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!" said Kabu. Arcanine runs at Lycanroc with incredible speed and slams into him, not doing a lot of damage.
"Don't let Arcanine's Intimidate ability bother you, Lycanroc." said Lincoln. "Now use Crush Claw!" Lycanroc runs forward as his front right claws glow blue and he thrusts them into Arcanine, doing more damage thanks to his Tough Claws ability. Arcanine starts to slump a little.
"And it looks like Crush Claw has weakened Arcanine's defense." said the announcer.
"That should offset the effect of Arcanine's Intimidate ability a bit." said Lincoln.
"Arcanine, use Bite!" said Kabu. Arcanine runs at Lycanroc and bites him. Fortunately for Lincoln, it didn't make Lycanroc flinch.
"Show him your speed with another Accelerock!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc, once again, moves at Arcanine at incredible speed and slams into it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Arcanine is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winner." said the official.
"Good job, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln.
"That's two down, one to go." said Lola.
"Lincoln can win this." said Lucy.
"Of course, he can." said Ronnie Anne.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was rooting for Lincoln.
"Just one more and Lincoln wins." said Luan.
"Lycanroc's got this in the bag." said Lynn Jr.
"Don't celebrate too soon, L.J." said Rita.
"Even though Lycanroc seems unbeatable right now." said Lynn Sr.
Back at Motostoke Stadium, Kabu was returning his Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You did your best, old friend." said Kabu. He puts Arcanine's pokeball away and pulls out his last one; he then throws it, releasing his Centiskorch.
"And Kabu lets out his Centiskorch! Can it turn things around and win this match?" asked the announcer.
Kabu returns his Centiskorch to its pokeball, then uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge it; he then throws it, releasing his Centiskorch, this time Dynamaxed.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc dumps a lot of rocks onto Centiskorch, doing lots of super effective damage, thanks to it being part bug and part fire; its speed is also lowered a bit.
"Centiskorch, use G-Max Centiferno!" said Kabu. Centiskorch bunches his body together and it releases a blast of fire from it, hitting Lycanroc, not doing a lot of damage to him. Fire suddenly appears around him, hurting him a bit more.
"Lycanroc, use one more Accelerock!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc moves quickly through the fire and slams hard into Centiskorch's face, doing enough super effective damage to cause the energy in it to explode and return it to normal size, unconscious.
"Centiskorch is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winner. The winner of this Gym Battle is the challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official. The crowd roars with applause.
"Lincoln's Lycanroc sweeps all of Kabu's Pokemon to earn the victory!" said the announcer.
"You did it, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc runs over to Lincoln, jumps onto him, and starts licking his face out of joy.
"That was awesome!" said Clyde.
"Totes!" said Leni.
"Lycanroc was awesome!" said Lana.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was celebrating Lincoln's victory.
"He won!" said Lynn Jr.
"That was incredible!" said Lynn Sr.
"I knew he could do it!" said Lori.
"Boy, Lycanroc, Lycan-rocked! Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha; Get it?" said Luan, making everyone groan before celebrating a bit more.
Back in Motostoke, Kabu returned his Centiskorch to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Centiskorch." said Kabu before putting Centiskorch's pokeball away and walking over to Lincoln. "Your Lycanroc is incredible, Lincoln."
"Thank you, sir." said Lincoln. Kabu reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Fire Badge.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with this Fire Badge." said Kabu as he hands it to Lincoln, along with some pokedollars.
"Yes! I won the Fire Badge!" said Lincoln as he holds it up in victory.
Later in the lobby, everyone was congratulating Lincoln.
"You were awesome, buddy!" said Clyde.
"That was so wicked." said Lucy.
"When can I start earning my badges?" asked Sam.
"We'll go to a Pokemon Center to get my Pokemon treated first; then we'll go back to Turffield to get your first badge." said Lincoln.
"Rad!" said Luna.
Sam is about to start her Gym Challenge. Can she catch up to the others?
