I'm sorry it's been so long. It feels like forever since I updated this story. Without further delay, let's get into it.

They let Skye settle in, and unpack. Skye comes down the stairs on her own terms and actually looks around in more detail. She finds a lot of pictures of Mr. C and Melinda. There were ones when they were younger, not that they're old, but…there is also another picture of their wedding. They look so happy.

Next is a picture of Maria, them and…Garrett. Skye shakes her thoughts out of her head and continues to scan the photos. She sees pictures of their kids. She recognizes Natasha, and then her wife. She sees Wanda and who she is assuming is Pietro. Then there are 2 girls she doesn't recognize. One is holding up medals for state championships for track and field and the other is at an art museum, both with wide smiles. There is another photo she doesn't recognize, it's of a baby girl in Melinda's arms. It must have been taken at the hospital. She never realized they had a bio kid.

"Are you looking at the photos?" Phil asks,

She jumps with a startled look on her face before slightly relaxing, "U-h yeah, sorry"

"Don't be, we put them out there for a reason." He points to each one of the kids, "This is Natasha, her wife Bobbi, Wanda and Pietro, they're twins, and then Elena, and Robin. Robin is older than Elena though"

"Who's that?" Skye points hesitantly to Melinda with the baby. She isn't sure if she should bring it up, and it turns out she made the wrong move as Phil sucks in a small breath.

"That's something, Mel should tell you" He says. He knows how hard it is for Mel, and well, he doesn't want to go against her back or something, "Speaking of which, are you up for dinner tonight with the girls? Don't feel pressured though, they are just excited to meet you."

"Sure" Skye responds honestly. She is tired with everything that's happened, but maybe when she meets their kids, it might quiet her mind more.

"Great, now um- you get to pick what we eat for dinner"

"Oh" Skye thinks, "Uh-"

She kinda feels like she was put on the spot. What should she answer? Pizza? Mac and Cheese?

"Wh-at about grilled cheese"

"Okay, I do make the best grilled cheese" Mr. C smiles.

There is a long awkward silence before Skye speaks up softly, "Uh- where's Melinda?"

"She is at the dojo. She had to check on a class. She was going to walk up and tell you but figured that you would want to relax a little. I just got a text from her though, she is on her way back. Do you want to watch a movie as we wait?"

"Sure, uh- wait- …what do I call you?"

"Well at school, Mr. C, but at home, you can call me Coulson, Phil, and you can call Melinda, Melinda or May, it's up to you really,"

"Okay, oh- uh, speaking of school, when am I going back?"

Phil sighs, "Well I think that we'll take one step at a time, but we'll see in a couple days"

Skye nods, "Okay"

They relaxed on the couch and agreed to watch the first avengers movie. 10 minutes into it Melinda walks through the door and joins them on the couch. By the time the movie is finished Skye felt slightly more comfortable. Phil is making plans for dinner. The doorbell rings and Melinda asks Skye,

"Do you mind getting the door. I think it's Natasha and Bobbi"

"Sure" Skye mutters before finding her way back to the main entrance. She opens the door and sees the familiar redhead and blonde.

"Hi, you must be Skye" The redhead smiles, "I'm Natasha, and this is my wife Bobbi"

"Hi, it's very nice to meet you. We brought brownies, I hope you're not allergic"

Skye smiles shyly and mutters a quick hello and takes the brownies that are handed to her. They walk into the kitchen and Skye stands awkwardly to the side, the tray of brownies still in her arms. She focusing on her shoes and the wood flooring when she hears someone call her name.

"Skye, why don't you put the brownies here," Phil says pointing to the empty counter space, "Dinner will be done momentarily."

"So Skye, why don't don't you tell us a little about yourself" Natasha says, as they get the last bit of prep work done.

Bobbi and the rest of the family turn their full attention on Skye making her feel quite out of place. What should she say?

"I like computers and um martial arts"

"Really" Natasha beams, "You should ask my to watch some of her classes"

"I was planning on taking you by if you're interested in it" Melinda says.

Skye nods, "I'd like that"

"Tomorrow we're planning on going to the mall to shop to decorate your room, if you're up for it"

Oh gosh, Skye thinks, the dreaded mall. The screaming kids, the crowds, and all the stores. The only time anything good came from going to the mall was her first foster home who tried to butter her up. A week later, she was back in the orphanage. Decorating her room seemed like it would be fun, but does she really want to risk getting overwhelmed? And what if Cal shows up?

"Sure-" Skye reluctantly agrees. She doesn't want to be difficult.

"So Bobbi" Melinda says, shifting her focus off of Skye, "How's your job?"

They fell into a pretty comfortable silence just being together. Phil made grilled cheese, broccoli and some potatoes. Melinda and Natasha both noticed Skye's little appetite. She left most of her potatoes and broccoli, only having a small amount. Her grilled cheese only has around 4 to 5 bites out. Wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt they blame it on the newness of the house and of the situation.

After the couple left, Skye retreated to her room quietly. She's not very sure of the rules, and was worried about messing up.

The next day Skye wakes up emotionally tired. It was one of those days. The one where you wake up anxious and worried. The kind that make you want to just stay in bed and not get up. Skye feels like that sometimes. She doesn't want to have to talk to anyone, but she knows she has to. Begrudgingly she gets up and changes, careful with her arms and starts to walk downstairs. Phil is dancing with the TV on and is flipping his famous pancakes. She quietly wanders down to the basement and heads to the gym area. From what Skye has learned she figures that Melinda would be the kind of person to start out her morning with a workout or something. Skye is right finding Melinda stretching in the gym, her back to her. Even though she can't see Skye and she is very quiet, Melinda knows she is there.

"Did you sleep well?"

Skye is a little surprised, but with what she knows about Melinda she knows she shouldn't.

"Y-es"

She keeps stretching as Skye watches. Finding her voice, Skye wonders, "You have a tattoo"

It wasn't really a question but it was an observation that Skye made. Melinda also wasn't someone who seemed like the tattooing type. It is permanent.

"I do," Melinda pauses and says, "It's a daisy"

Skye wants to ask if it is something special. It makes sense that most people get tattoos with more meaningful reasons, but Skye is a little hesitant to ask. She figures it might be personal and Melinda would've continued if she wanted to.

Thumping from upstairs interrupts the silence as Phil comes down with a smile, "Good you both are up. I just made pancakes, Mel I made you tea. Skye, my pancakes are really good, and I put chocolate chips in them, which is even better."

Melinda finished the last bit of her routine before kissing Phil, "You're the best"

Together, the three of them head upstairs for breakfast.
