Chapter 47: An Old Evil Returns

In Coruscant…

Nadia covered her mouth to yawn as she followed Anakin and Ahsoka to Plop Dribble's which was a spaceport restaurant at the Stobar Spaceport.

"Uh, shouldn't we be getting back to the Galactic Savior?"Ahsoka suggested.

"Nah, I'm hungry and tired of those government rations."Anakin declared.

"Same with me, Anakin."Nadia chuckled."We all need succulent meals to satisfy our hungry stomachs."

"Just remember to use your table manners, Kitty."Anakin informed."When you eat, you look like a wolf."

Ahsoka chuckled lightly at Anakin's respond while Nadia simply rolled her eyes.

"That's coming from the guy that has filthy bugs in his diet."Nadia scoffed.

The Jedi Knight and the two Padawans then notice spaceport police droid speeders parked outside the restaurant.

"Hey, looks like trouble."Anakin assumed."Come on."

Anakin, Ahsoka and Nadia headed inside Plop Dribble's and saw civilians surrounding a waitress that appeared to be on the floor while there were a few spaceport police droids in the scene.

Suddenly, the diner's owner, Loubo, tried to defend the diner with a frying pan before the misunderstanding was cleared up.

"Hey, what are you doing?"Loubo retorted.

"We don't want any trouble."Anakin responded as he stood up."We were only trying to help."

The spaceport police droid glanced at Loubo.

"Loubo! Are you crazy? Pointing that thing at a Jedi?"the spaceport police droid scowled."Put it down now!"

"I'm sorry, sir."Loubo apologised before placing the pan in the counter and checking on the waitress."I'm just all shook up."

"I understand."Anakin replied simply."You want to tell me what happened here?"

"We have it under control, sir."the spaceport police droid assured."It looks like only a simple altercation. Happens here all the time."

"He's telling the truth. We get some rough characters in here. Things like this happen too often to count."Loubo exclaimed as he brought the three Jedi to an empty table."Why don't you and your friends take a load off? I'll get you some food. Meal's on the house."

Anakin, Ahsoka and Nadia sat on the table.

As they waited for their meals to arrive, Ahsoka and Nadia noticed Anakin meditating a bit.

"Master?"Ahsoka asked."Anakin?"

"Are you okay, pretty boy?"Nadia questioned."You look…troubled."

Anakin glanced at Ahsoka and Nadia.

"I sense a disturbance."Anakin admitted."Something sinister."

Ahsoka and Nadia glanced at each other.

"All the way out here?"Ahsoka said in confusion.

"Yes."Anakin answered.

"Do you know what, or who, it is?"Nadia asked and became a bit nervous."It's not Darth Sidious, is it?"

Anakin's frown deepened at the mention of the Sith Lord who orchestrated the Clone Wars.

"No, it's not him, Dia, but whoever or whatever it is, it feels familiar."Anakin declared.

Anakin then glanced at the view outside, making Ahsoka and Nadia follow his gaze.

But all the three Jedi saw were the night sky and a few ships that were leaving the Stobar Spaceport.

After finishing their meals in the restaurant in the Stobar Spaceport, Anakin, Ahsoka and Nadia returned back to the Jedi Temple in Coruscant.

By the time the three Jedi returned, the sky was deep grey and it started to rain, so it meant everyone should stay inside.

Nadia was now in the Jedi Archives alongside Hal and Maybelline, looking for a good book to read.

In her childhood, Nadia didn't like reading or studying that much.

But as she grew older, she began to officially understand the importance of those two things.

Because without knowledge, life was not worth having.

Just as her late mother told her many times.

Though deep down, Nadia was still bothered that Obi-Wan decided to fake his own death without caring if he hurt her, Anakin, Ahsoka and Satine.

Yet at the same time, she felt relieved that she still had the chance to bring her master and the Duchess of Mandalore together.

The raven haired girl just needed to figure out the right time for that moment to happen.

Nadia then looked at the book that she bought from outside and sat down to read it while Hal and Maybelline sat nearby reading the books from the Jedi Archive.

Beach of Stars by Kai Konnik.

It was magnificently decorated.

Deep, rich, sapphire blue leather with gold calligraphy decorating across the cover.

It was also an award-winning novel.

Konnik wrote Beach of Stars during his residency at Poloda Place on Coruscant and it won the Galaxis Award for best novel in 22 BBY.

Nadia began tracing the letters of the novel's title with her finger, slowly, reverently.

The raven haired girl then opened the book and inhaled the musty smell of the pages.

As she began to read, a small smile played on her lips.

However, Nadia's smile vanished when she suddenly brought her attention away from book upon feeling a disturbance in the Force.

It felt very old and very evil.

But she couldn't tell who or what it was.

What was going on?

Both Hal and Maybelline glanced at Nadia, when they notice something was bothering her.

"Are you okay, Dia?"Hal questioned with a concerned look.

"I honestly don't know."Nadia replied.

"Are you feeling sick?"Maybelline assumed with a hint of worry."Do you need to see a doctor or the healers in the temple?"

Nadia smiled at her younger half-sister, feeling touched of her concern over her own health.

"I'm perfectly healthy, May. There's nothing wrong with me."Nadia assured with a soft smile."Just felt a disturbance in the Force, but I don't know who or what it is."

"Is it Darth Sidious?"Hal questioned.

Nadia frowned. "No, it's not him but I suspect it maybe a Sith Lord."

Maybelline gulped softly yet nervously at the responses of her older half-siblings.

All of them felt something was not right.

Obi-Wan went to visit Master Yoda in his private headquarters and found the Grand Master of the Jedi Order meditating near the window.

"Master Yoda?"Obi-Wan asked.

"Feel the disturbance in the Force like your apprentices, do you?"Master Yoda assumed.

"Yes, Master."Obi-Wan replied.

"Fear you and young Aomori are in danger, I do."Master Yoda exclaimed."From the dead, an old enemy has awakened seeking revenge."

A glimpse of confusion appeared on Obi-Wan's face.

"An old enemy?"Obi-Wan questioned.

"Killed your Master many moons ago during the Invasion of Naboo, he did."Master Yoda declared.

Obi-Wan became disturbed upon realising who Master Yoda was talking about.

"How can this be?"Obi-Wan asked."I killed him myself."

"It is so, I fear."Master Yoda responded.

Obi-Wan brought his attention to the view outside which showed the dark sky of Coruscant pouring rain outside.

"Darth Maul alive?"Obi-Wan murmured in shock and disbelief.
