Returning to Aether Paradise (Part Two)
Right now, the group was riding the lift up to the next level of Aether Paradise.
"Oh, I do hope Lillie is okay." said Edd.
"We'll find her, Double-D." said Jimmy.
When they reach the next floor, they immediately see Faba
"I, Faba, am the Aether Branch Chief." said the man now known as Faba. "The only one in the world, I'm irreplaceable; and here you come back... uninvited?" says Fabu.
"Yes, we are here for Lillie." said Edd.
"I applaud the courage it took for you children to come here, but this is where your rescue mission ends." said Fabu. "If you want to continue, then you'll have to defeat me in a Pokemon battle!"
"One thing I like about Pokemon regions, we settle everything without wars." said Edd. Fabu takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing a yellow, humanoid, bipedal Pokemon with a ring of white fur around its neck, holding a pendant with a circular piece of metal at the end of it.
"What's that?" asked Jimmy; the Rotom Pokedex comes out and points itself at the Pokemon.
"Hypno, the Hypnosis Pokemon, and the evolved form of Drowzee. In Alola, Komala is Hypno's main target. It rarely harms people." said the Rotom Pokedex.
Edd takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Ariados.
"Ariados, please use Shadow Sneak!" said Edd. Ariados' shadow extends behind Hypno, rises up, then strikes it, dealing super effective damage.
"Hypno, use Psybeam!" said Fabu. Hypno holds out the hand that wasn't holding its pendant and fires off a beam of energy at Ariados, hitting her, and dealing super effective damage.
"Ariados, please use Sucker Punch!" said Edd. Ariados moves at Hypno and strikes it with one of its legs while it was coated in dark energy, dealing super effective damage.
"Hypno, use Zen Headbutt!" said Fabu. Hypno charges headfirst at Ariados while his head was covererd in energy and strikes her, dealing super effective damage; fortunately for Edd, she doesn't flinch; an aura of green energy rises up from Ariados.
"It seems that Ariados' Swarm ability has activated." said Edd. "Ariados, please use Pin Missile!" Ariados fires off glowing green needles at the Hypno, hitting it multiple times, and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Double-D!" said Maxiley.
"I believe I am the victor." said Edd.
"But Victor is a goat." said Ed.
"I meant I'm the winner." said Edd. Fabu growls before returning his Hypno to its pokeball.
"How could this be?" asked Fabu as he looks at Edd with fear. "How could a mere child defeat me?"
"He is one of the finalists at the Lily of the Valley Conference." said Maxiley, shocking Fabu.
"You're that boy?!" asked Fabu.
"Indeed." said Edd. "Now would you please tell us where you are keeping Lillie and Cosmog?"
"They are down at a lower level of this facility where I do my experiments." said Fabu.
"What kind of experiments?" asked Edd.
"Ones that involve tearing the boundary between worlds open." said Fabu.
"No good could come of doing that." said Edd.
"How do we get down there?" asked Maxiley.
"As an act of kindness, I'll put in the code to allow you access to that area." said Fabu.
"Splendid." said Edd. After Fabu tosses Edd pokedollars, he walks over to the lift's control panel and inputs a code; soon, the lift starts to descend to the lower levels. Once the lift stops, they all get off.
"Where could Lillie be?" asked Sarah.
"She has to be around here somewhere." said Edd. Just then, they are approached by an Aether Paradise worker.
"What are you children doing down here?" asked the worker.
"Giving ourselves a little tour." said Eddy.
"You all have to leave." said the worker.
"Make us!" said Sarah.
"You asked for it, child!" said the worker as he takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing a Lileep.
"I want to battle now." said Jimmy.
"Go get him, Jimmy." said Eddy. Jimmy takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Lucario.
"Lucario, use Power-Up Punch!" said Jimmy. Lucario draws back his arm and throws a punch at Lileep which connects, dealing super effective damage; a surge of power rises up from Lucario.
"Power-Up Punch increases the power of the Pokemon that uses it." said Edd.
"Lileep, use Giga Drain!" said the worker. Lileep releases a large stream of green energy from itself that hits Lucario, draining him of a little stamina, but not a lot, healing some of its wounds.
"Lucario, use Brick Break!" said Jimmy. Lucario brings down his hand in an overhead chop to Lileep, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Jimmy won!" said Ed. The Aether Paradise worker growls before he returns his Lileep to its pokeball; he tosses Jimmy pokedollars and runs off somewhere.
"Let's keep going." said Edd. They continued walking until an Aether Paradise worker approaches.
"You kids aren't allowed down here." said the worker.
"We let ourselves in." replied Sarah.
"You kids have to leave." said the worker.
"You'll have to make us." replied Sarah.
"If I must." said the worker, pulling out a pokeball and throws it, releasing an Anorith.
"Oh yeah?!" exclaimed Sarah, pulling out a Dive Ball and throwing it, releasing her Alomomola. "Alomomola, use Water Pulse!" Alomomola forms a ball of blue water in front of her mouth; she launches it at Anorith and hits it, dealing super effective damage.
"Anorith, use Crush Claw!" said the worker. Anorith leaps at Alomomola while its claw glowed white and it slashes Alomomola with it, dealing damage to her, and weakening her defense.
"Alomomola, Brine!" shouts Sarah. Alomomola unleashes a powerful stream of water from her mouth, and it hits Anorith, knocking it out.
"Great job, Sarah." said Maxiley.
"Beaten by a child." muttered the worker before returning Anorith to its pokeball and throwing pokedollars at Sarah. After the worker leaves and Sarah returning Alomomola to her Dive Ball, the group continued their search for Sarah. Moments later, Ed was facing another worker.
"Magmar, go!" said the worker, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Magmar.
"Let's see what the Rotom Pokedex has to say about Magmar." said Edd, taking out the Rotom Pokedex and pointing it at Magmar.
"Magmar, the Spitfire Pokemon, and the evolved form of Magby. The hotter the place, the better they feel. Magmar in Alola are said to be hardier than those in other areas." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Gigalith, come out!" said Ed, throwing Gigalith's pokeball and releasing him.
"Magmar, Fire Punch!" said the worker. Magmar charges at Gigalith while its hand was coated in fire and it punches Gigalith, but not doing much damage to him.
"Smack Down!" said Ed. Gigalith forms a ball of golden energy and launches it at Magmar, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Magmar, Flame Burst!" said the worker. Magmar launches a fireball out of its mouth, and it hits Gigalith, but not doing much damage.
"Gigalith, Rock Blast!" said Ed. Multiple brown rocks form around Gigalith and he launches them at Magmar, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Ed!" said Eddy. The worker returns Magmar to its pokeball and pulls out another one.
"Houndoom, go!" said the worker, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Houndoom.
"Why, I haven't seen one of those since Sinnoh." said Edd as he points the Rotom Pokedex at Houndoom.
"Houndoom, the Dark Pokemon, and the evolved form of Houndour. Identifiable by its eerie howls, people a long time ago thought it was the grim reaper and feared it." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Houndoom, Feint Attack!" said the worker. Houndoom runs to the left and disappears; it appeared near Gigalith and rams him.
"Gigalith, Power Gem!" said Ed. Gigalith fires a pink beam of energy out of his middle crystal, and it hits Houndoom, dealing super effective damage.
"Houndoom, Fire Fang!" said the worker. Houndoom runs at Gigalith with fire covering its fangs.
"Harden!" said Ed. Gigalith glows white and his body shines before Houndoom bites him, but not doing much damage.
"Rock Slide!" said Ed. Multiple gray rocks form around Gigalith and he launches them at Houdoom, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Ed won!" said Jimmy.
"I never doubted him." said Edd. The worker returned Houndoom to its pokeball and tosses pokedollars at Ed; after the worker left, the group continued on.
As they head down the long hall, they go into a room with a large number of books and a small computer in it.
"What is all this stuff?" asked Eddy. Edd goes over to the computer and starts looking through it.
"What are you doing, Double-D?" asked Maxiley.
"Seeing if there's anything in here that can tell us where Lillie and Cosmog are being held." said Edd. He looks through the files until he finds something surprising.
"What is it?" asked Jimmy.
"There's something in here about Cosmog." said Edd.
"What?" asked Eddy.
"This says that Cosmog is something called an Ultra Beast from another dimension." said Edd.
"Cool!" said Ed.
"This also says that when it's expose to a lot of stress, it could open portals between worlds." said Edd.
"But why would these Aether Paradise people want Cosmog?" asked Jimmy.
"This says that they're trying to figure out how to control its power in order to make portals they can use to travel to other dimensions." said Edd.
"Why would they want to do that?" asked Sarah.
"This doesn't say." said Edd.
"These guys are kind of like Team Galactic." said Eddy.
"Indeed." said Edd. "I feel we should try to stop them."
"Well, let's hurry up and find Lillie and Cosmog so we can rescue them." said Maxiley.
"Then let us be off." said Edd.
The group have learned about the Aether Paradise's plan. Will they be able to stop them? Wait and find out.
