Who are we?!

Professor Laventon, Rei, and Akari look at the Loud siblings with concern at the distraught looks on their faces.

"What's the matter, children?" asked Professor Laventon.

"Guys!" Lincoln said as he looks around at his sisters. "Can any of you remember where we came from?!" His sisters look at him with worry on their faces.

"No, Lincoln; I literally can't remember where we came from!" said Lori with a panicked look on her face.

"I can't remember, either!" said Leni

"Neither can I!" said Luan.

"I can't!" said Lynn Jr.

"Us, neither!" said Lana and Lola in unison.

"I can't seem to recall our origins, dear brother!" said Lisa.

"Don't any of you remember where you came from?" asked Professor Laventon with surprised shock.

"No!" said Lincoln. "I don't think any of us can remember!"

"What about your parents?" asked Akari. The Loud siblings thought for a minute, but to their horror, they can't remember their parents at all, either.

"I can't remember them either!" said Luna.

"I don't remember what they look like!" said Lori.

"I can't remember their names!" said Luan.

"What about friends?" asked Rei. Everyone looked at each other, then shook their heads, indicating that they didn't remember that either.

"Favorite foods?" asked Akari. Another round of head shakes followed answered her question.

"Is there anything you can remember?" asked Professor Laventon.

"It appears that other than our names and the fact that we're siblings; we can't seem to recall anything about ourselves; our homes; our parental units, our acquaintances; nothing!" said Lisa.

"This is most troubling news." said Professor Laventon. The Loud siblings gripped their heads as they tried their hardest to recall even the smallest memory of their past, but with no success.

'Why can't we remember anything but our names and that we're siblings?' Lincoln asked himself. He looks down and sees Lily with her arms wrapped around herself and tears in her eyes; he picks her up and strokes her head to try and comfort her.

Professor Laventon, Rei, and Akari looked at each other as the Loud siblings trembled with panic at their newly discovered amnesia.

"What should we do with them, Professor?" asked Rei.

"We can't just leave them like this." said Akari. As Lincoln does his best to comfort Lily, he feels something rub against his leg; he looks down and sees the Cyndaquil, nuzzling it. Not knowing what else to do, he bends down, picks it up, and holds it close to him as Lily pets it.

"I've never seen a Pokemon take to a person like that." said Professor Laventon.

"Is it that amazing?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Normally, they tend to either avoid or attack people." said Rei. "But Cyndaquil seems to like you, Lincoln." Lincoln smiles a little, but it didn't do much to take his mind off his family's predicament.

"What are we going to do?" asked Lori.

"You're the oldest; you think of something!" said Lola.

"How can I when we can't even remember practically anything about ourselves?!" Lori replied. This led to a group argument between the siblings.

"Excuse me!" Professor Laventon, getting the Loud siblings' attention, who all take the time to calm down, knowing that fighting with each other wasn't going to do anything to solve their problems right now.

"Sorry, Professor Laventon." said Lincoln.

"We're kind of upset about what just happened to us." said Lori.

"Understandable." said Professor Laventon. "Perhaps it would be best if we brought you back to Jubilife Village."

"What's that?" asked Lana.

"It's a developing village not far from here." said Professor Laventon. "It's where the Galaxy Expedition Team is based at."

"Galaxy what?" replied Lori.

"The Galaxy Expedition Team." said Professor Laventon. "It's an organization dedicated to completing the pokedex."

"What's a pokedex?" asked Lisa.

"It's a book containing information on every known Pokemon in the Hisui Region." explained Professor Laventon.

"Hisui Region? Is that where we are right now?" asked Lincoln.

"That is correct." said Professor Laventon. "As members of the Team Galaxy's Survey Corps, it's our job to travel through the region, recording information on all the Pokemon we find."

"That seems really exciting!" said Lincoln.

"It seems I've caught your interest." said Professor Laventon. All of a sudden, Cyndaquil breaks free from Lincoln's arms and runs off, followed by Oshawott and Rowlet.

"And speaking of catching something..." said Akari.

"Yes, I know." said Professor Laventon before he, Akari, and Rei all run off, leaving the Louds to themselves.

"So, what do we do?" asked Leni.

"Should we help them out?" asked Lynn Jr.

"How can we?" asked Lori.

"Well, it's better than standing here without nearly any memory about ourselves." said Lynn Jr.

"I guess that's true." said Luna. Not knowing anything else to do right now, the Loud siblings run after Professor Laventon, Rei, and Akari. They soon find them in an open area with some rocks, trees, and a small pond, chasing after the three Pokemon while throwing red and brown orbs at them.

"What are those balls they're throwing?" asked Luan.

"I don't know." said Lana. Lynn Jr's right hand unconsciously curls its fingers as if it was gripping a ball. A minute later, Professor Laventon walks over to the Louds with Rei and Akari following after him, all three out of breath.

"What were you doing?" asked Lola.

"We were trying to capture those Pokemon." explained Professor Laventon.

"By throwing balls at them?" asked Leni.

"These aren't ordinary balls; these are pokeballs." explained Professor Laventon as he takes one of the balls, now known as pokeballs, out of his lab coat's pocket.

"Pokeballs?" replied Lynn Jr.

"They're a recent invention." said Professor Laventon. "Something about Pokemon, they can shrink themselves down to a miniscule size; when you throw a pokeball at a Pokemon, it will shrink down and fit inside the ball, comfy as can be; and with that, you've captured a Pokemon." He then gives Lincoln several pokeballs.

"Why are you giving them to me?" asked Lincoln.

"Because you children seemed very interested in Pokemon." replied Professor Laventon. "I would be grateful if you could assist me in catching my three runaways."

"Well, seeing how you, Akari, and Rei are willing to help us, it's the least we can do." said Lincoln. He turned towards Leni. "Leni, will you hold onto Lily for me?"

"Sure, Lincoln." replied Leni. She walks to Lincoln and takes Lily in her arms.

"Now, the proper technique is to take aim at the Pokemon, then let the ball fly; it's very simple." said Professor Laventon.

"Got it." said Lincoln. He then walks around the area until he sees Cyndaquil near a couple of big rocks with its back turned; he quietly sneaks up behind it, takes one of the pokeballs, takes aim at the Cyndaquil, and throws the pokeball at it; it hits Cyndaquil and it gets sucked into the pokeball. It wiggled around once before a firework shoots out.

"Splendid work, Lincoln; you caught Cyndaquil." said Professor Laventon.

"Pretty firework." said Lola, referring to the firework from the pokeball. Lincoln walks up to Cyndaquil's pokeball and picks it up.

"That firework indicates that the capture of the Pokemon is successful." explained Professor Laventon. Akari and Rei gawk at Lincoln with shocked expressions on their faces.

"We don't believe it." said Akari. "We've been trying for minutes to catch them, and you manage to get one on your first try in a few seconds!"

"You seem to have quite the knack for catching Pokemon, young man." said Professor Laventon.

"Let me try, Lincoln." said Lynn as she holds out her hand. Lincoln shrugs as he hands her an empty pokeball. She then looks around until she sees the Rowlet on top of a small ridge that had a tree on it that was a far distance away. She rears her arm back to throw the pokeball.

"I suggest that you get a little closer to it before you..." Professor Laventon started to say before Lynn Jr throws the pokeball at an incredible speed and distance, hitting the Rowlet, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles once before a firework shoots out from it. Everyone else stares at Lynn Jr with shock.

"That was quite the throw!" said Rei.

"How did you do that?" asked Akari. Lynn looks at her hand in surprise.

"I...don't know." said Lynn. "It felt...natural to me."

"Your minds may have lost nearly all their memories, but your bodies seem to have retained the skills you had before." said Professor Laventon. Leni looks around and soon sees the Oshawott near the pond.

"There's Oshawott." said Leni. "Hey, Lincoln; can I try catching it?"

"I don't see why not." said Lincoln before taking Lily from Leni and handing her an empty pokeball. She sneaks up to Oshawott while its back was turned and she throws the pokeball at it, hitting it; it wiggles once, then shoots up a firework.

"Yay, I got Oshawott!" said Leni. As she, Lincoln, and Lynn stand near each other, looking at their pokeballs, Professor Laventon walks over to them.

"Thank you very much you three." said Professor Laventon. He then takes the pokeballs from the kids and puts them in his coat pocket.

"So, what now?" asked Lincoln. His stomach begins rumbling.

"Sounds like someone's hungry." said Akari.

"I guess another thing we can't remember is the last time we ate." said Lucy from behind Professor Laventon, scaring him.

"Pardon me, but I didn't realize you were standing there." said Professor Laventon.

"I feel like I did that a lot before." replied Lucy.

"Shall we return to Jubilife Village and get you all something to eat?" asked Professor Laventon. Everyone's stomachs started to growl.

"Did you have to ask?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Then let's head back, everyone." said Professor Laventon. As the group makes their way down a dirt path, Lisa was examining an empty pokeball.

"This is quite the fascinating device, Professor Laventon." said Lisa with interest in her voice.

"Yes, it is, young lady." said Professor Laventon.

"I am quite curious about how this device works." said Lisa. "The Pokemon doesn't appear to shrink but converts into energy which is compressed and contained within. Is the material the pokeball made from what causes the Pokemon to do so?" Everyone just gawks at Lisa.

"That is quite the impressive vocabulary for one so young." said Professor Laventon.

"Thank you; but honestly, I'm quite surprised by what I said myself." said Lisa with shock in her voice.

"Perhaps you're an intellectual?" suggested Professor Laventon.

"Interesting theory, Professor." said Lisa. After that, the group continues on their way.

1216 Franklin Ave, Royal Woods: Present day.

Lynn Loud Sr was in the backyard with a shovel, frantically digging into the dirt in the spot his children stood before disappearing, with Rita standing behind with a worried expression on her face. It was a few minutes after he started digging before he stopped; partly due to exhaustion, and partly because he hit a sewage pipe. He climbs out of the six-foot hole that he dug up with a look of defeat on his face and throws the shovel aside.

"Where are they?" asked Rita.

"I wish I knew." said Lynn Sr before he and Rita both dropped to their knees and started to cry.

"Our babies." said Rita as she covered her face with her hands.

"I know, honey." said Lynn Sr as he puts an arm over his wife's shoulders. "We'll find them."
