A bus carrying Dipper and Mabel Pines arrived at the bus stop. The twins and their pet pig Waddles exited the bus with their bags and waited. A few minutes later a car arrived at the bus stop and the trio was greeted by their twin Grunkels Stan and Ford. Dipper and Mabel exitedly ran to Ford and Stan and hugged them.

"Hey kids you've sure have grown since last we saw you." Said Ford.

"A good few inches!" Said Mabel.

"So how was your boat trip?" Asked Dipper.

"Oh you know, did some sailing, some fishing, fought a giant squid, fought some undead pirates and Vikings over some gold. The usually." Said Stan with a causal smirk.

"Are you for reals?" Asked Dipper.

"Mostly." Said Stan.

"Come on kids. Let's head to the Mystery Shack." Said Ford.

They loaded up the car and headed to the Mystery Shack. The group soon arrived at their destination and were greeted by their friends Soos and Wendy.

"Oh boy, it's great to see you dudes again! Can I show them the new attraction?" Said Soos.

"New attraction?" Asked Dipper and Mabel.

"Go on Soos." Said Stan.

Soos lead everyone inside to a large red curtain and pulled it back to reveal a large fish tank that held a creature that appeared to be half manta ray half crab. The creature had the body of a manta ray with crab legs and claws attached to the lower side of it's body.

"Behold the Mantacrab!" Said Soos.

The young twins stared at the creature in amazement and awe.

"Caught this little beauty near the Bermuda Triangle and brought him back." Said Stan with a satisfied grin.

"Oh darn. I have to get ready." Said Ford looking at his watch.

"Where you going?" Asked Mabel.

"To a little party at the Northwest Manor. They're displaying some artifacts I wish to examine. Don't worry, I don't plan to stay long. I'll be back in a couple of hours." Said Ford giving a quick pat to both Dipper and Mabel's shoulders before heading to his room to change clothes.

Ford changed into a black suit took the car and headed up to the Northwest Manor.

At the Northwest Manor the party was in full swing. People were talking and admiring both the art and the artifacts on display. Ford was studying a stone tablet depicting images of what appeared to be a warrior woman battling a wizard. There was some ancient writing on the tablet, but Ford couldn't quite read it.

At another part of the party Preston was with his wife Priscilla were talking to some guests, when Preston noticed he was standing near the display case that had the strange amulet from earlier.

"You desire power. You want more power then all these fools put together. I can grant you that. Just place the amulet around your neck and it shall be yours." Said the voice again within Preston's mind.

This time Preston didn't walk away or try to ignore the voice. It spoke the truth. Preston wanted power. He walked over to the display case and opened it up.

"Preston?" Asked Priscilla as she and the other guests watched Preston take the amulet out and place it around his neck.

There was a mighty thundering crash and a flash of light from the amulet that blinded everyone. When it cleared Preston was gone and in his place was a new figure. The newcomer appeared to be a elderly man with yellow eyes and grey hair wearing dark robes and a tall black hat. The amulet hung around his neck.

"Free at last." Said the old man.

The party goers stared at the old man not sure what to make of him. Many thought this was some kind of strange elaborate prank by Preston. Finally Priscilla spoke up.

"Who are you and where is my husband?"

"Oh where are my manners. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kulan Gath the future ruler of this world. As for your husband, I took over his body and I've locked his conscience up." Said the old man.

Everyone stared at Kulan and a few began laughing.

"I suppose a demonstration is in order." Said Kulan as his eyes glowed red and his hands crackled with magic.

Kulan began to fire burst of magical energy at the guests turning many of them into stone statues and sending the others running and screaming for their lives. Admits the confusion Ford grabbed the stone tablet and broke through a window to escape. Whatever was going Ford believed the tablet might offer some answers, because one of the images on it was of Kulan. Ford made it to the car and quickly drove off as the Northwest Manor warped and changed into a gothic castle.

A new threat had arrived in Gravity Falls.

To be continued.
