It started with a boy who had a dream. In the dream he saw a Mew who looked pure white. He thought of how unusual it was to see this Pokémon, but when he got a closer look at it, it seemed to be in trouble. So, Ace asked:
Ace: - What's the matter?
Mew: - ….
Ace: - (mind talk) (Strange, does he not understand what I am saying, or does he understand me? Wait a sec... if he says anything to me, it will just be Pokémon noises, and I will have no way to know what he said)
Then the mew used telepathy to talk to Ace
Mew: - (H-hello)
Ace: - Wait, was that telepathy you just used?
Mew: - (Y-yes)
Ace: - Is everything ok?
Mew: - (...Help me…)
Then everything went dark, and Ace woke up.
Ace: - Ugh...what a dream. What even happened?
He looked at his clock
Ace: - Ugh...it had to be on a school day when I have such a good dream? Eh, I guess I shouldn't worry about this too much.
Ace was about to get out of bed when suddenly his younger brother busted in the door.
Ben: - Bro, come on get out of bed! It's your birthday, we need to celebrate this day!
Ace: Thanks Ben, but shouldn't you be getting ready for school? You're usually the one getting up late and making us late all the time you know.
Ben stood silent, not thinking of what to say as he realized this, then left. As Ace looked at his phone and saw the news about an unusual Mew sighted outside the city round these parts
Ace: - Wait, did my dream come true suddenly? Agh, I might need to have a word with Kenny at lunch
Ace got up and prepared himself for school. Upon arriving downstairs, he met his mom and dad, who waited for him downstairs.
Mom: - Happy birthday, darling.
Dad: - Yea, happy birthday sport.
Ace: - Thanks mom and dad. Ace replied, happy about getting the birthday wishes
Mom: - So since today is your birthday, what do you want to do to celebrate it?
Ace: - Well, I wanted Pokémon Sword for Nintendo Switch. Suddenly after saying that, he soon realized that he forgot about something that happened during his school years
Ace: - (mind talk) (Oh man, I forgot that the teacher confiscated my Nintendo Switch till the end of the school year)
So, Ace and his brother Ben both went off to school. Some time passed and it's now lunch time. Ace and Kenny are both in the lunchroom.
Kenny: - Happy birthday, Ace! So, you're 16 now, right?
Ace: - Yea
Ace seemed a bit upset.
Kenny: - Hey Ace, what's the matter? Today is your birthday, and I know yesterday you sounded so excited about it, along with Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, which came out today on your birthday, So what's wrong?
Ace: - Well today I had a dream, and in the dream, I saw a mew.
Kenny: - Wait, What!? Kenny replied, turning over to him, and looking at him in shock of this, much to the news he heard about this morning
Ace: - Shhh! Not so loud Kenny, we don't want the whole school to know about it. Plus, I didn't tell my parents or my brother about this dream. I know my brother will go and tell everyone, and I don't want people spreading rumors about me. Remember, I am also the president of the student body and QB of the football team. So, I have a lot on my plate right now, you know.
Kenny: - I knew that, Ace, but you did not have to go and tell me that. I know you're all that, and you know you can always come to me, and I can try to help you the best way I know how, but I was a bit surprised that you saw a mew in your dream.
Ace: Thanks, Kenny. So, about my dream. I also saw the mew was in trouble but when I was about to ask what was wrong, everything went black, and I got up. When I checked my phone, I saw there was a strange animal seen in the city. When someone described what it looked like. It was white, skinny, and had a long tail. I was shocked to know it looked like the mew in my dream, and thought it maybe wasn't just a dream.
Kenny: - Hmm, odd, that seems to be too real to be true, but from all what you told me, I would need to think about it. So how about we meet up after football practice?
Ace: - Ok Kenny.
Kenny: - Cheer up man. If you're seen like this, then people will ask what the matter is, and if your brother finds out, he will come after me and yell at me for not helping you out.
Ace looked at Kenny and perked right up.
Kenny: - Now that is the Ace I know. Let's finish our lunch and get to class, and we will talk more about this after football practice.
So, after lunch they both went to class together. And after school they went to the locker room.
Ace went to his locker, and heard the voice of the mew
Mew: - (Please help me. You are my only help.)
Ace: - Agh!
Ace held his hand against his head and shut his locker hard.
Kenny and rest of the team looked at Ace, Then the coach came in
Coach: - Hey Ace, everything ok? You seem a bit upset and angry.
Ace looked up and saw everyone was looking at him.
Coach: - So... are you going to say something
Kenny: - (I better say something, or Ace might say something he will regret.) He's all good, coach. Just thinking about what to do after school for his birthday, and what to do with his girlfriend.
The coach looked at Ace and Ace looked at Kenny and then back at the coach.
Coach: - So, is that true Ace?
Ace: - Yes, coach.
Coach: - Well, clear your mind so you can practice your best for the upcoming homecoming game.
Ace: - Yes, coach.
So, the coach left, and the other players got ready. Ace looked at Kenny.
Ace: - Kenny, why did you do that for me?
Kenny: - Well Ace, I felt that you might say what happened to you this morning to Coach, and I did not want you to get made fun of yourself in front of the team.
Ace: - Heh, thanks Kenny, I owe you.
Kenny: - Don't mention it. Now let's get on the field and warm up.
So, Ace and Kenny went out to the field.
Ace: - LET'S GO BOYS, 10 LAPS AROUND THE FIELD!
The team: - YES, CAPTAIN!
As they were going around the field the mew spoke to Ace.
Mew: - (Help me, I need to pass on my power to you.)
Ace stops on the side of the field. He held his hand against his head
Ace: - Ow my head. What is wrong with me?
Then looked up, and the sun was harsh and it was a warm day, and passed out, injuring his foot upon falling.
The coach blew his whistle and ran over. Ace's girlfriend, who was watching while she was practicing cheerleading, and Ace's brother, who was the waterboy, also came over. They all went over to him. Ace opened his eyes up a little as the sunlight was in his face.
Ace: - What happened to me?
Sally: - (Ace's girlfriend) Ace, are you ok? I'm here for you now, so don't worry. Keep your eyes open and don't pass out again.
She held ace's left hand
Ben: - Bro, don't overdo it. Also, you have not been hydrated all day today, so drink some water.
Mark: - (one of the team players) Captain, like, you were acting like this in the locker room. You're not sick or something, are you?
Coach: - Hey Ace, why don't you take it easy and go to the nurse?
Ace: - Yes, coach
Coach: - Kenny, you go with him and make sure he gets there, and take him home after.
Kenny: - Yes, coach
So, Mark helped Ace up. Ace then put his arm around Kenny's shoulder and they both walked to the locker room.
In the locker room
Kenny: - Did it happen again?
Ace shut his locker door hard and looked at Kenny
Ace: - YES IT DID! I AM NOW SICK OF THIS! I JUST WANT IT TO END!
Kenny: -…...
Ace: - Sorry Kenny, I didn't mean to snap at you. It's just that….
Kenny: - Hey Ace, it's ok bro, like I get it. Now we should go to the nurse.
Ace: - Ok then, let's go
Ben was outside and was eavesdropping, then came in
Ben: - Bro, what is wrong with you? Like what did Kenny mean "Did it happen again?"?
Ace: - It's none of your business, Ben. Also were you eavesdropping on us? Leave, or I'm going to tell on you when I get home.
Ben: - Ok bro, but your girlfriend is going ballistic on me, blaming me, and telling me to go and see what is going on, then to report back to her.
Ace and Kenny looked at each other
Ace: - Ben, I'm just tired, and just had a nightmare last night, which is why I'm just not on my "A" game. So, tell Sally that I'm ok, and I'll talk to her later. Also, do not tell mom and dad about this, ok?
Ben: - Ok brother, I promise I will not tell mom and dad about what happened to you.
Ace: - Thank you, Ben. Now, go back with the team, and let them know I am ok.
Ben: - Will do bro, and I am sorry about the past, for causing you problems and messing things up, and for getting you in trouble for things I did, but know that you are my brother, and I still love you.
Ace looked at his brother and started to cry
Ben: - Bro, what did I do now?
Ace: - Come here, you.
So, Ben came over and gave him a big hug
Ace: - Thank you, Ben. You are the best brother I ever had.
Ace wiped his face, and Ben's face, of their tears
Ace: - Now, go back to the team, and tell my girlfriend that I'm ok. I need to go to the nurse now.
Ben: - Ok bro. Get well soon, and I will see you at home then.
Ace: - Ok Ben, I'll see you at home.
Ben left the locker room. Kenny helped Ace up and got him to the nurse's office.
Nurse: - So, what happened to you Ace?
Kenny: - Well, he passed out while doing laps around the football field.
Nurse: - I see. Well, let's do some tests.
10 minutes at the nurse office
Nurse: - Well, you seem to be fine for the most part, but you did injure your foot, so I would say take the rest of the day off and take it easy for a few days.
Ace: - Ok nurse, I'll take it easy for the rest of the day, and take a few days off from football practice, but could you let the coach know about this?
Nurse: - Ok, I will let him know.
Kenny and Ace left nurse's office, and they both went to the park
Kenny: - So Ace, I was thinking about it, and I'd say we need to know more about the Mew that came to you in your dream. So, we could look for tomorrow after school.
Ace: - Ok, but Kenny, I don't want to keep you away from practicing with the rest of the team, so as your captain, I want you to go to practice tomorrow. I will try to talk to the mew with my mind.
Kenny: - But Ace. Ok, if you say so, but please be careful, ok?
Ace: - I will, but hey, you want to go for a milkshake? Remember, I still owe you a milkshake from today.
Kenny: - Hmm, ok, let's go. I don't have any other plans today.
They both left the park and went to the milkshake parlor. When they got there, Ace's girlfriend Sally and brother Ben were there after practice.
Ace: - Sally! Ben! What are you two doing here?!
Ben: - Well Sally told me, after practice, that she knew someone that had a crush on me. So, she invited her to meet us here.
Sally: - Yeah, that's right. Ever since I've been with you Ace, I saw that you had a younger brother, and I was wondering if he had a girlfriend, but after a while spending time and going to parties, I saw he did not have anyone. I was going to ask you, but you were busy with football and spending time with me and being the president of the student body, but one day I saw this girl and she was looking at your brother. I thought I'd give it a few days. After which, I asked her, and she said she wanted to be his girlfriend. Then I told your brother today, and that's why we are here. Though, what are you and Kenny doing here? Shouldn't you be at the nurse's office?
Ace: - Well, we were at the nurse's office, and she told me I should take it easy cause I pulled a muscle in a foot, so there's another reason why I should be off the field. Plus, it's a good thing I did not damage anything that would keep me off the field for the homecoming game, but who is the lucky girl for my little brother?
Sally: - My little sister, Ava
Ace looked at her with a face of surprised
Ace: - Wait a moment, you never told me you had a younger sister.
Sally: - Come on Ace, I did tell you before, but I guess you forgot about her 'cause of what you must do for the school.
They all waited and soon Ava showed up.
Ava: - Sis, I'm here.
Sally: - Ava, go and talk to Ben over there.
Ava went to Ben and sat down at one of the tables. Ben ordered a couple of milkshakes.
Sally: - I think we should give them some space.
Ace: - Agreed.
Ace, Kenny, and Sally left the shop.
Kenny: - Ace, I wish my girlfriend was here too.
Ace: - Why do you say that?
Kenny: - She would have enjoyed this moment with Sally.
Ace: - Yeah, you're right about that. Well, it is getting late. Kenny and I should be getting home. But man, I wish I had my Nintendo Switch. My parents are going to get me Pokémon Sword for my birthday, but the teacher has it and will not give it back till the end of the year.
Alex then showed up
Alex: - Ace, were you looking for this?
Alex gave Ace his Nintendo Switch back to him
Ace: - Alex, how did you get this back?
Alex: - I had some proof that the teacher was giving grades to what students he likes. Don't ask me how I found out, but now I can give you the pokémon I have, and you will enjoy them.
Ace: - Thanks Alex, you're the best.
Alex: - You're welcome, Ace. Well, I want to get home and take a shower from the long practice we had today. So, get well soon captain. He gets ready to leave, but stops Also, before I forget, your replacement is going to be Kenny. The coach asked me to tell you.
Ace: - (I'm glad he's one of my good friends)
Kenny: - Well I'll see you at school then, Ace.
Ace: - See you then, Kenny.
So, Kenny and Ace went their own ways. Ace went to his house and enjoyed his party, and after that went to his room.
Ace: - (Man, today was a great birthday, but I don't know what to do about the Mew problem. Though it's strange that I didn't hear the voice since the locker room, but hey if you can hear me, Mew, I am sorry I was a bit upset that you came between me and football practice. Also, I didn't mean to snap at you.)
Mew: - (I-it's ok, but please meet me after school near the forest.)
Ace: - (Ok, but why did you come to me? Also, is it ok if I bring my friend Kenny along?)
Mew: - (You will know more when you see me, and yes, you can bring him, but he should not take any pictures, and no other person is allowed.)
Ace: - (Ok)
Ben came in Ace's room
Ben: - Ace, that was the best party ever, and that was a good Pokémon game that mom got for you. Do you think I can use your Switch? Anyway, what is the matter now? Are you feeling the pain in your foot?
Ace: - Yeah, just a little bit, and yes, you can use my Switch, but do not go into my save files alright.
Ben: - Ok brother, I promise you. A brother promises.
Ace: - Ok Ben. Well, I want to go to bed now. I'm just tired from not doing much, and from the party we had today, so we will talk more after you come home from football practice, ok?
Ben: - Ok, bro. Well, good night.
Ace: - Good night, Ben.
The next morning, Ace got up, and when he put his foot down, it started to hurt.
Ace: - Ow (Man, I must have put too much strain on while I was sleeping. Well on the bright side, I will be able to play during the homecoming game.)
So, Ace got ready and went down to have breakfast.
Ace: - Hey mom, where is Ben? He usually comes to my room to wake me up.
Mom: - Oh, he went with his girlfriend to school. Though Ace, why did you not tell me that you got hurt yesterday at football practice?
Ace: - Mom it was not that bad, but who told you that?
Mom: - Your brother, but you will not, under any condition, get into a fight with him about it.
Ace: - But, mom!
Mom: - No buts Ace, or you will be grounded.
Ace: - Ok mom.
So, Ace finished his breakfast and went to school. In class, Kenny saw Ace had bandages wrapped around his foot.
Kenny: - Ace, are you ok?
Ace: Kenny, can we talk during lunch? I am so pissed at my brother.
Just then, the bell just rang, and everyone left for their next class. As Ace and Kenny were heading for their next class, they bumped into Ben, who is with his girlfriend.
Ben: - Oh, hey bro. What's shaking?
Ace: - …...
Ben: - Ah bro, are you ok?
Ace: - You.
Ben: - You?
Ace: - HOW COULD YOU GO AND TELL MOM ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FOOT?!
Ben: - But, but, I did it because we are family, and mom and dad care about us.
Ace jumped on Ben and started to fight. While fighting, Ace injured Ben's arm. Then the teacher came and broke up the fight. Then took Ace to the principal office. Then he helped Ben to the nurse's office.
Principal: - Ace, what has got into you? You've never got into fights in the past and you do so much for the school. So, keeping that in mind, I am going to let this situation slide because it was between you and your brother. But next time if you ever get into a fight, then you will have to stay after school. Do I make myself clear?
Ace: - Yes, sir.
Principal: - Good, you may go back to class now.
Ace: - Am I allowed to go to homecoming sir?
Principal: - Yes Ace, you may go.
Ace left and went to class
Meanwhile at the nurse's office. Ben was crying as his arm was getting wrapped from the fight with Ace
Ava: - Hey Ben, it's ok now, please stop crying. Your brother didn't mean to hurt you.
Ben: - No Ava! He wanted to hurt me, and he's going to get into trouble when he gets home.
Then Ben wiped the tears from his eyes.
Nurse: - All set, Ben. You're good to go.
Ben: - Thank you, nurse. Ava, let's go to class now.
Ava: - Ok then, Ben.
The bell just rang, and Sally and Kenny went to look for Ace.
Once Sally saw Ace, she went to him.
Sally: - What the heck, Ace! Why did you get into a fight with your brother just because he told your mom? That's a new low, even for you.
Ace: Please Sally, I do not want to talk about it.
Sally: - I'm sorry, Ace. Do you want me to leave you alone till you want to talk to me?
Ace: - Yeah, that would be good for us. Let's go to lunch, Kenny.
Kenny: - Ok then.
They both went to lunch. At lunch, they were both quiet.
Kenny: - So, did the Mew talk to you since yesterday?
Ace: - …. Yes, and he wants to meet me after school. So, I want you to come with me and miss the first few minutes of football practice.
Kenny: - Ok then.
So, they finished lunch and as they were going to their class, they saw Ben with his arm in a wrap. Ben looked at Ace, then looked away and went on his own way to his class. After school, Ben called mom and told her what Ace did to him. Soon after, mom then called Ace.
Mom: - ACE, ONCE YOU GET HOME, YOU ARE GROUNDED FROM VIDEO GAMES FOR 2 WEEKS!
Then she ended the call
Kenny: - I guess that was your mom?
Ace: - Yeah, she grounded me, but let's hurry up to the forest.
Kenny: - Alright then. But, wait a moment.
Ace: - Yeah, what's up?
Kenny: - Did you forget, Ace? It was you who should have gotten the milkshakes, not me.
Ace: - Oh right, I'm sorry Kenny. How about after we're done with this and after football practice, I get you a milkshake?
Kenny: - Sure then.
Both Kenny and Ace went to the forest. They looked for the Mew.
Ace: - (Alright Mew, we are here, so can you show yourself?)
Then the Mew showed up
Kenny: - So you're the Mew who told Ace to meet up with you.
Mew: - Yes, my name is Nathan, the Mew of happiness and support. I came here so I can find my replacement because I have been doing this for over 10,000 years.
Ace: - Ah, no thanks. Please don't try to talk to me ever again. Let's go Kenny.
Ace started to walk away.
Mew: - I am sorry Ace, but you have no choice in this.
So, Nathan snapped his finger and fire surrounded Ace, and he started to hear voices.
Ace: - Ah, please stop!
Kenny: - Please stop it, Mew!
Mew: - I am sorry, but I can't. Now he will transform into a Boltund.
Ace: - Ah please stop, I can't take it anymore.
Ace fully transformed into a Boltund and then passed out. Then Mew came over and Ace slowly disappeared.
Kenny: - Where did Ace go?
Mew: - To the Pokémon world, but once he gets there, he'll lose his memories of when he was human, but he also will have my power to help Pokémon who are sad and need support. Now, see you, Kenny.
During the trip to the Pokémon world, a shadowy figure appears, and enters Ace's mind.
