Dark Awakaing
Colonel William Stryker and two soldiers dressed in all black with blue goggles walk through the metal halls of a military facility. As they grow closer to their destination, Stryker's steps grow in anger until the three of them reach a silver door. To the left of the door was a device with a screen shaped like a hand on the screen. Stryker placed his hand on the device as a blue light scanned his hand. The light turned green as the screen displayed his name. The door opened, and it was filled with an arrangement of different screens and buttons. In the room, only 3 people were occupying it Professor Thorton and four of his assistants of doctors. Stryker and his men entered the room as the door closed behind them.
"You've better-got something to tell me, Thorton, because my ass is on the line right now and I will take you with me if this experiment fails again." Stryker demanded as he got in the professor's face. Thornton's face remained unchanged despite Stryker's threats as he turned to his side and waved his hand in the direction of a large tube. The tube was illuminated with a green light as a small 1 year old baby floated in the water. The baby was connected by an assortment of different wires as it continued to float. A few more of the professor's assistants were in the room with the baby as the scanned screens monitored its vitals and skeleton structure.
"This time Colonel I assure you you've finally made a breakthrough with X-17. As you see Colonel there are no signs of any genetic changes from the DNA from Weapon X. Truly Colonel we've finally produced an exact clone of Weapon X." The Professor walked up to the tube and placed his hand on it as he gazed at his work. Stryker followed suit and looked as the baby continued to float in the green water.
"Finally the government can have their weapon. Tell me Thorton when can you begin injecting the adamantium into its bones?" Stryker asked as he put his hands behind his back and looked at the professor.
"I believe we'll be able to start later on today Colonel if all goes well that is." Professor Thorton remarked as he continued to look at his work.
"Fine inform me once the procedure is finished men with me we're leaving," As Stryker and his men went to exit the room he looked at the professor, "Remember Thorton it better work or else." Stryker remarked as he and his men finally left the room.
"It will Colonel… it will," The professor grabbed a nearby tablet as he started to give the baby's x-rays a look over. He made sure to pay extra attention to its forearms. Within both forearms were a set of three claws. With an evil grin, he set the tablet back down on the table as he looked back into the tube. "Prep the OR for the adamantium injections immediately." Thornton issued as everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and began to prep the baby to be taken out of the tube. Professor Thorton exited the room as he walked to the OR. 'With the absence of Dr. Cornelius, the project would have been nearly impossible. Thankfully I made copies of his research on Weapon X. Oh how I wish you could see it now Abraham together we've made something far better than Weapon X. A being superior to its donor in every way.' As the professor reminisced about his past work X-17 was finally taken out from its tube and was now in a smaller one. His assistant began to transport it to the OR. As they traveled the metal hallways the professor made it to the OR he entered a room above the OR and oversaw his assistant prepping the baby to be placed into the metal tub that had an assortment of wires and needles all over it. Once the weapon was in the water they began strapping its arms and legs with leather straps. Once they were done strapping it in place they went over to the many glass vials and began filling them with the liquid metal with the press of a few buttons. After each tube was filled they gave everything one final check. "Is everything properly set?" The professor spoke over an intercom.
"Yes, Professor Thorton after we'll begin once you give us the command." A female assistant spoke as she looked up at the professor.
"Perfect then begin the procedure at once." The professor ordered as if it were instinct each of the assistants went to their station and began each of the machines. Soon the needles began to glow a bright orange. Soon each needle began to go into the water as they all made their way towards the baby. The moment they began to insert themselves into the baby's skin it screamed in pain as its eyes shot open. Soon the tube of green water started to turn a shade of red. Despite the infant's protest, they continued with the procedure. The professor looked at a nearby screen that displayed the infant's vitals. They were going off the charts as Thorton paid close attention to the child's DIA. He squinted his eyes as he went deep into thought. 'Hmmm at this rate it'll go into a heart attack or a stroke at worse. But then again we've tested the healing abilities of it before and it should be able to recover… I hope." The professor thought as he looked back into the OR and continued to watch the procedure. As soon as one of the tubes was empty one of the assistants quickly went and made sure that it was empty. She gave it the all-clear as another tapped a few buttons as it started to extract itself from the child. It kept going until it was finally finished after 4 hours of meticulous agonizing work. Each vial was empty as the professor left the observation room and entered the OR. He looked over the now almost-dead infant with a devilish grin. "Finally… the perfect has been born." The professor spoke as he issued his team to transport the child back to its holding tube and to inform Colonel Stryker about the success they've made. He watched as they unstrapped the baby, cleaned off the blood, and placed it back into its transport tube as another went and informed Stryker. As they left back to its holding tube the child's wounds began to heal. Once the child was back in its tube with all of its wires hooked up it was like clockwork as Stryker entered the room with the same men from before.
"It's done, Thorton?" Stryker asked as he stood beside the professor and gazed upon the now sleeping infant.
"It was a success indeed Colonel X-17's bones bonded with the adamantium perfectly. But if I may suggest adding a control chip in case X-17 goes rogue?" The professor spoke with a stoic tone.
"We won't be able to Thorton after countless failed test subjects they're cutting our funding in half. We'll have to do it the old-fashioned way. Now I'll go and inform my higher-ups about the success and maybe they'll increase the funding." Stryker said as he left the room with his men. The professor continued to stare up at the baby as he clenched his fist for a moment. 'They're digging their own graves If they don't add a chip it'll be the end of them… I just know it.' Thornton thought as we grabbed his tablet was began to look over the now adamantium skeleton of the child.
After a grueling 8 long years of "training" X-17 was finally starting to become what Stryker and Thorton envisioned. The perfect weapon was starting to take shape. But of course, it wasn't easy nor too kind. X-17 endured the cold, the heat, starvation, dehydration, and a multitude of physical harm as well. To ensure that it was perfect they did everything they could to strengthen it from stabbing, being shot at, and having acid being thrown at it. The Geneva Convention was more of a Geneva Suggestion to them and most of the facility. Now it was different as after those 8 years X-17 could finally learn to fight back. They taught it an assortment of different fighting styles. With each new style, it learned it also learned how to combine its claws with them as well. Truly making each even more deadly than before. Of course, they also had to teach it as well from multiple languages, arithmetic, geography, and much more. As the training went on whatever bits of humanity that were left were held together by a string. Thanks to the kindness of Dr. Carol Frost X-17 hadn't completely turned into the animal he was meant to become. But as each day passes it only grows harder and harder for the both of them. Soon Stryker would already start planning X-17's first mission. But that'll have to wait at least until he deemed it ready.
"Go for its head and forearms men remember to keep distance from X-17 team!" The commander ordered his team as they continued to fire their guns at X-17. As they fired X-17 tried to defend itself but the constant barrage of gunfire kept him to the floor. Soon it couldn't even stand up anymore as both of its forearms were left a bloody tangled mess of flesh and muscle. Its head was nearly a skull as bits of his face remained. The once white room was not filled with its blood as the weapon sat on the floor a bloody and disfigured mess.
"We got it, Sir! We killed it!" The soldier with a green patch on his arm spoke as he walked towards the corpse of the weapon.
"STAN DON'T!" The commander protested as he bolted toward's Stan but he quickly froze in place as suddenly the room was filled with Stan's scream and the roar of Weapon X-17.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH" Stan screamed as he dropped his gun.
"RAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHH!" X-17 roared as he popped his claws and lunged at Stan. His adamantium claws plunged themselves into Stan's sides as they punctured his lungs. With quick secession, it drove its claws into Stan's side and chest. With one final stab, it went for his eyes. Instead of retracting its claws from Stan's head, it began to pull upward with such great force that Stan's head was starting to tear from his neck. In one final pull, it pulled Stan's head clean off. The sight alone scarred the solider's shitless one of them even threw up in their helmet. X-17 threw Stan's head to the side he snarled at the three remaining men.
"DAMNIT KILL THAT SUCH OF A BITCH!" The Commander ordered as he and his men quickly shook off their fear for their survival.
"AHHHHHHH!" Bill screamed as he fired shot after shot from his shotgun into X-17's chest sending it flying backward. X-17 dug its claws into the ground as it stopped sliding. It rushed at Bill bobbing and waving each shot from his shotgun. He dug his claws into the ground as it slid across the floor and with one quick motion slashed open Bill's stomach as his internal organs spilled onto the white floor.
"NOOOO!" Ben shouted as X-17 lunged at him his claws going through Ben's head as they landed on the wall.
"It's just you and me you monster bring it own!" The Commander threw his gun ground as he pulled two hunting knives from his belt and rushed at X-17. It retracted its claws as it rushed at the commander. The commander went for the weapon's midsection with his knives but it quickly backstepped. It grabbed the commander's left arm and snapped it in half with its elbow. The commander screamed in pain for only a moment as the weapon plunged its claws into its head silencing his pain. It retracted its claws as the commander's body fell to the floor. It screamed with victory. The once white room was now one filled with violence and death as sprawled across it were the dead members of the once special force's team Alpha. Suddenly the weapon was pulled to the floor. It screamed and roared as it tried to pull itself free but couldn't soon the doors opened and entered Stryker and Thorton.
"Good thing you installed those magnets in the room Thorton or else we'd be just like the men on the floor right now," Stryker spoke as he covered his mouth.
"Indeed Colonal but I'd say this training session was an overwhelming success." The Professor commented as he pulled a syringe from his pocket and stuck it into X-17's neck quickly putting the beast to sleep.
"I'll have my men try and kill up this mess and send X-17 back to its pod for some rest," Stryker said as soon a small clean-up team entered the room and started to get rid of the corpses while another team turned off the magnet and took the weapon back to its pod. Both Stryker and Thorton left the room as the two teams got to work. Once the weapon was brought back to its pod the medical team soon inserted the drills and wired them back into the weapon. They closed the pod as it began to fill with its usual liquid. Once they were finished they all went to their stations and monitored the different parts of X-17. All except one. Dr. Frost looked at X-17 not with a scientific mind but with sorrow.
"I should have never been a part of this…" She spoke with a whisper as she turned back to her screen. 'How could I have joined something so… so wrong?' Dr. Frost thought as she continued her work. Soon the doors to X-17's room were opened as Stryker and Thorton entered the room still discussing plans and missions for X-17.
"With the way things are going currently Colonel, I predicate by the time it reaches the age of 16 it should be nearly unstoppable." The professor spoke as they walked up to X-17's pod.
"Hmmm, I don't like that Thorton we'll have to speed this up I'll see if my superiors are willing to send it out for a little field test," Stryker commented as he crossed his arms and looked up at the floating weapon.
"If must Colonal if you must." The Professor spoke as he looked up at X-17 as well.
As X-17 aged, each training session and mission only grew harder and harder. From being dropped in the Arctic with nothing but the gear to monitor its activities to have to fight a small milita at the age of 13. Each was meant to make sure the weapon's skills and abilities were pushed to the absolute limit. But other factors grew as well, such as the connection between the weapon and Dr. Frost's connection. The Dr always made sure to spend at least an hour with the weapon whenever she could. Their connection began to deepen from something far more than just a doctor and a project. But to something akin to a mother and their son. The weapon never admitted it, but the doctor was the closest thing it ever got to truly having a family. But then again, X-17 hardly ever spoke full words as most of the time, it snarled and roared. Overall, the project was going just as planned for Stryker and the U.S. Government was going to have their weapon, and Professor Thorton was going to surpass Weapon-X. But then the time had come. At the age of 16, X-17 was sent on their first operation. X-17 wore black boots, trousers, fingerless gloves, and a shirt. He now stood at a healthy 5,10 thanks to a few special 'shots' from Dr. Frost. He put on his helmet, brushing aside his black hair as he boarded the C-130J. He grabbed onto one of the handles as the rear door closed. He looked back at the hanger as Stryker saluted him before the door could close. Soon, the plane took flight as it started to head towards its destination.
Africa
Now, with X-17's first operation in Africa, what exactly will happen? Can the so-called "perfect" weapon make it back from this? Will it ever escape and seek true freedom? If so, who will find out about this murderous being? The X-Men? Or Magneto and his forces? Can it ever adapt to civilian life? Who knows you'll just have to figure it out in the next chapter of X-Men Evolution: Sinful Past. Moreover, this marks the end of X-17's origin and the beginning of the first arc of the story which will be filled with pain and suffering. Tell me what you thought about it down in the comments, and I know it's a bit short, but moving forward, most chips will be at least 5k words. Just wanted to give y'all a taste for what's to come in the next upcoming chips.
