A short but simple opening to Brooklyn getting a Miraculous for himself. Never wrote Ladybug before.

For Brooklyn of the mighty gargoyles in the Manhattan Clan, he usually felt like the odd one out in his family. Every time he asked his family if they wanted to hang out they would either go with their significant other or just patrol without him.

One night in particular had Brooklyn on the edge when he failed to catch a truck with some crooks. Goliath had wound up scolding and lecturing him.

Brooklyn, having had enough, took off, wanting to leave his clan, mostly from his anger. The hot feeling bubbled in his stomach after landing on the building with gargoyles once having packed what he needed in his bag.

He sat there, loneliness and lack of accomplishment ran through his aching soul. No mate, no reason to lead the clan other than under Goliath's influence. Brooklyn let loose a deep sigh, gazing out at his city, wishing something could make him stand out and help the citizens of New York more than what his gargoyle form already came with.

….

Master Fu studied over his box of Miraculouses after giving away the Lady Bug and Cat Noir one to Marinette and Adrien. He knew that nobody else should ever get them after that but he looked over at the Phoenix Miraculous that was in the heart of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

This Miraculous alongside Hawkmoth's was the most powerful one of them all. Master Fu felt dread at the thought of Hawkmoth getting his hands on it since its fire can weaken Kwamis. Wayzz, his loyal companion from the Turtle Miraculous spoke up.

"Don't tell me you're thinking about lending out that Phoenix Miraculous to anybody, aren't you Master Fu?"

Fu shook his head, closing the box megaphone again in his apartment at New York since he had decided to go to America for a while. "Not anytime soon. But I'm getting a feeling that the rightful owner of this Miraculous could be close by in this New York."

Wayzz's eyes rounded. "But… they wouldn't know how to even use it properly!"

The old Master gave a smile. "Hmm, maybe, I should think about letting someone use it to at least protect the city, even if Hawkmoth isn't around here." He opened up the box, putting the Phoenix Miraculous hairpin and placing it in a smaller container. "You remain here in saftey, Wayzz. I'm on my search now."

The turtle Kwami shook his head, wishing Fu would stop just randomly giving his Miraculouses away like with Marinette.

Fu walked around the streets for a while, still haven't seen anybody here that could be a possible candidate. Maybe… what he was looking for wasn't even human, for Fu had heard of the gargoyles living in the city.

"A gargoyle with a Miraculous could prove a most interesting experiment indeed." He said with a little smile, until some voices were heard behind. Fu glanced around, spotting three men wearing hoods, and holding hammers.

"We heard you say gargoyle, old man. Where is it? Tell us or else!" Snapped the first one. Fu frowned, thinking maybe he should have brought Wayzz after all, but maybe this is a chance to find the right owner of the Phoenix.

He grinned slyly at them. "I may be old, but I could probably take you on… oof!" A fourth one kicked Fu in the side, knocking him down. Fu knew he was in trouble, feeling surrounded by this extremist group. He hoped a gargoyle really would come.

Brooklyn molded for most of the night while munching on an apple he had packed from the fridge, wondering if his clan was even bothering to look for him. He figured not, after his argument with Goliath.

The red gargoyle threw the core away in his frustration, eyes glowing until hearing the sounds of someone in trouble. Glaring, Brooklyn took to the skies, gliding off the roof and scanning down below to find the one in danger.

His sharp eyes soon spotted his least favorite group of humans in this world; Quarrymen. He grumbled under his breath, wishing it was robbers instead. They were beating up an old Chinese looking man who was now cowering on the sidewalk, one Quarryman raising his hammer.

That made Brooklyn furious, charging down with all of his might, roaring in a screeching manner. Pouncing on the one about to hurt the old man more. Master Fu had heard the screech, looking up in time to see a gargoyle at last; using the Quarryman's hammer to knock the guy away, roaring further, charging at the others.

A smile graced Master Fu's face at the sight of his Phoenix Champion. He was quite a sight to behold; red dark skin, a sharp beak, and determined looking eyes, wings flapping when jumping out of the way of the electricity in another hammer. Those wings weren't too bad either.

Brooklyn managed to toss the last Quarryman into the trash, sweat coming down while he panted, wiping his brow. He looked over to the old man who got his walking stick, holding himself up.

"Uh, hey, are you ok?" Brooklyn asked, going to help. Fu grinned back at him.

"I am most gracious for your help, young gargoyle." He thanked. That made Brooklyn tense up, backing away. "Wow… not what I expected. Usually people scream at us."

Fu gave a little chuckle. "I've seen so many wondrous things to not be scared of someone like you." He stated back, making the lean gargoyle shrug. "If you say so."

He turned to glide off until the old man called. "Wait, young one. I must express my gratitude like from my home country of China."

Brook groaned, rolling his eyes. He wasn't in the mood for strange presents. "Well… make it quick then. Not really feeling too great right now." He watched the man pull out a strange looking Chinese styled box, giving it to him.

The second opened it. Inside was… a hairpin? It was red orange in color. Brooklyn gave a sharp laugh. "Good joke, very funny old dude. Like I need one of these!"

Master Fu raised his eyebrows. "There is more to that hair pin than meets the eye. You will soon see. But, where is your family? I should've seen them by now."

Brooklyn frowned again, closing the box and turning away. "Just me, since… I ran away. Didn't feel like they wanted me there. All I do is… is mess stuff up." Leaked tears fell down his cheeks.

Fu sensed the sadness from the young gargoyle, reaching to hold his arm gently. "I'm sure they miss you. A clan without its member isn't whole, like a family. You should return, whenever you're ready to face them."

Feeling like this guy was kind of right, Brooklyn reluctantly agreed. He grinned halfheartedly. "Er, thanks. Gotta go now. Be careful, alright?" Fu nodded, simply smiling cheerfully while he watched Brooklyn climb up a wall, taking off into the night, hoping this gargoyle could be his next Miraculous champion.

Hopefully the next chapters will be more action packed!
